"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.
"Affordable Quickie in NY"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.
""Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.
"Nice hotel in the theatre district"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel in the theatre district. Friendly and helpful staff. Basic room accomodations but very clean. Would recommend.

"Great hotel"
This is fine business-class hotel. We'll be back. Comfortable bed, with high quality bedding. Large, clean room. Well-appointed bathroom. Nice decor. Gracious staff. High-quality in-room amenities.
"worst view of NYC"
when booking with hotels.com, be aware that the rooms put aside may not have the best features. The staff was very pleasant and the room was large and comfortable. However, as soon as we opened up the window shade, the view was completely blocked by the massive H VAC duct work. I can honestly say it was the worst view in that hotel or any hotel for […] that matter. Read more

Really enjoyed my stay at this Hotel but the elevators were extremely slow and the bathroom was very hot compared to the room.

"Hotel Benjamin - never again!"
I checked in for a 4-night stay. My room had such a strong disinfectant/perfume odor and was so dingy, I went down to see about getting another room. I was shown another, larger room - but is had the same strong smell. I was told I could wait until later and maybe find an acceptable room on another floor. I decided to stay one night and cancel the next […] 3 nights. The man at the desk insisted I could not get any money back although Hotels.com has a 24 hour cancellation notice. I called Hotels.com and they said they would refund the next 3 nights. Still the man at the desk warned me that I wouldn't get any money back. He was totally obnoxious. I left the next day and DID receive my 3 nights charges back. I will never go there again. Read more

"One night at the Benjamin"
I found it to be a very nice boutique hotel conveniently located to mid-town. Would recommend for anyone looking for a nice intimate hotel close to mid-town.

"Hotel Benjamin - New York City"
We chose the Hotel Benjamin for its location. The room was reasonably sized for Mid-town NYC, clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and courteous. We stayed 5 nights, and we would stay there again.

"Close location, but needs some work done."
The Benjamin was in a great location to many of the popular destinations in NYC, but we had two issues that would not make us stay again. One was the noise you can hear outside your room at night while sleeping. The second issue we had was the cleanliness of the room from the carpet, to the walls, furniture and bedroom. There were numerous other hotels […] across the street that we had family members staying in and they were much cleaner and fresher such as The W, The Marriot and The Hyatt. Read more

"Clean, Comfortable and Centrally located"
I was very pleased to stay at The Benjamin as it felt like home; clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and I was centrally located so that I could walk or access public transportation as my need dictated.
"The Benjamin Hotel - poor housekeeping"
We stayed 4 nights at the Benjamin and had the following problems: * When we arrived there was not a cot set up for our baby despite an advance request being made (the hotel claimed they had no record of the request - I do not know whether fault lies with the hotel or hotels.com for failing to pass on the request). * There was no hotel directory book […] in our room. When asked staff directed us to the on screen system. This did not work. We reported this but nothing was done. * The video on demand system did not function. Enquiries were made of 2 different staff who both stated that this was "not available in the hotel". Mysteriously this system became available on the third day of our stay. It was as if staff had been briefed not to admit the system was broken. *Upon returing to my room at 3.30pm (having been out all day) our room was not made up. I had to call to request this be done. * Toilet paper was not replaced - leading to us running out at one point. * WiFi is charged out per device rather than per room - very expensive if you wish to run more than one device. The location is good, which is what one is paying for here, but basic hotel service was lacking. Read more
"Great evening"
I recently stayed @ the Benjamin on short notice. We arrived at noon and our room was ready 3 hours ahead of time. Clean and comfortable. The housekeeping folks were great, front desk terrific. Neighborhood is fine and subway is close.

"Its all about The Benjamin baby!"
This hotel stands out as one of the best stays I have had in all of my travels. They had a small problem with our reservation so they bumped us up to a suite, gave us two bottles of champagne, a chocolate cake for our anniversary, drink tickets, and a free night. Not only that, the place is top notch, beautifully kept, great food, and in a great location […] right next to the green line (6) subway and close to time square. All in all a great experience, highly reccomended. Read more

"High End Service and Amenities / Great Price!"
What a nice surprice. MUCH better than the large chains. All of the staff were wonderful. LARGE, clean, well equiped rooms. More like an efficiency apartment than a hotel room. High end fabrics and bath fixtures. Digital A/C worked! Great bed with 12 pillow styles to choose from! Great location. -- Would DEFINITELY stay again!
"This is new for me"
I must say that I travel and stay in hotels a great deal of the time and this is the first time that I can recall giving a review top marks on each and every category. This is an amazing property and you will enjoy your time there.

"Where do I start"
This stay started very uncomfortable. Due to the renovations happening expect some delays checking in. The National, the restaurant in the hotel, is a saving grace for any discomforts you may find. We were very unhappy with how this stay started. The hotel staff, Jamie, Milous, David, and bartender Brendon turned our frowns upside down! My chief complaint […] was that I wanted "The Benjamin experience"! Later I discovered that phrase being on their website. The staff members listed are fantastic. After one night of speed bumps, we found ourselves in a suite with a balcony! The pillows are amazing! Breakfast, given to us as a treat for being patient with the hotel was out of this world!(steak and eggs) This was our 3 year anniversary and we wanted a very special memory. The staff, even with renovation dilemmas, delivered to us the most incredible "Benjamin experience" we could have asked for! Thank you guys for delivering what I had in mind for our anniversary weekend. Read more

"Memorial Day Visit"
From the moment we arrived until the time we left the staff at the Benjamin was courteous, attentive and knowledgable about Mid-town. All of the staff was helpful no matter who you asked. The doorman even walked up to the cornor and flagged down a cab for us. Based on where we were going, he knew that by catching the cab on the corner as oppossed to […] catching it in front of the door would save us a few dollars. My wife and I were celebrating the anniversary of when we met and the front desk upgraded us to a one bedroom suite. Very nice. Shout out to David. Thanks! Read more

Right in the middle of Mid Town East. Walk or subway to everything. Walkable from Grand Central. A little farther to Times Square, but also walkable. Hotel is quiet. Staff is very friendly. Restaurant in the hotel. High end linens. Nice thick terry robe. Small fridge and microwave in the room. Very comfortable.
Very convenient location. Staff very friendly and helpful. If you want a top sheet for your bed, please request in advance. This was advised by the staff. Otherwise you will only have a duvet.

"Poor service at a nice, conviently located hotel"
Great location but very poor service...
"Terrible Service"
What a comedy - blankets for the sofa bed were delivered after 45 minutes with cigarette burns in them; a $150 room service bill because there is no children's menu (we have a 4-year old and a two-year old); waiting twenty minutes for a bellman to help us with our bags (we did it ourselves instead); cleaning our kitchenette (nice to have) by taking […] our dirty silverware and plates but never replacing them. I had a conversation with the GM half way through our stay to alert him to our problems, but it didn't get any better. Very simply - this is a 4-star building with no-star service. Read more
The Benjamin was a very comfortable hotel in a fabulous location. The staff was extremely attentative to your needs. I would highly recommend this hotel based on its location and and the well appointed rooms. The only negatives were that the elevators are very slow and the restaurant needs some wok.
"Convenience"
The hotel is well located. Walking anywhere for shopping or eating is quite possible.

Very nice. Larger room than we expected for NYC.
"Good hotel in Midtown"
Great location but needs faster internet access (especially for business clients) and better gym. also, the staff can be overly doting--hi and bye every time is not necessary. The bag guys took a while when it was busy (too long considering most people waiting for bags have cabs waiting for them).
