"Great hotel, great staff, could use new matresses"
If you are going to Big Bear, this little place is right in the middle of it all and the staff could not be any nicer. The room was spotless and the linens were excellent. We made a fire in the room's fireplace, which was wonderful. My only complaint is that the mattress felt a little lumpy. Maybe just me or maybe they need a few new ones. My friend […] thought his was fine. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent Hotel Accommodations/PerfectLocation"
Great place to stay. Close to dinning and shopping (walking distance to The Village). Amenities and accommodations were fine. Stayed in the one-room cabin with full kitchen and fireplace. No complaints at all!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great little place on the water"
We stayed in the motel, on the second floor. It was clean, comfortable and had a traditional Big Bear woodsy theme. We loved the proximity to the water and it was so nice to sit on the deck overlooking the lake.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
There was not one thing that wasn't perfect!! We had the best getaway ever!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything was nice except dealing with staff on the phone, the women there are very rude. Why should I come back if people talk to me like they have a chip on their shoulder and all I did was make 2 quick phone calls to confirm the booking and request a late check in? I was not a difficult customer -__-Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quaint and cozy"
A friend and I decided to try this little gem of a hotel during Oktoberfest. The front desk clerks were friendly and checked us in very quickly. We were pleased to see free WiFi any enjoyed a delicious cup of coffee before heading to our room. The room was in the hotel, not a cabin. It was very clean with an ample amount of soft towels and as all kitchenette. […] The decoration is very reflective of the environment. It was a little dated, but it had a lovely fireplace and 2 windows for fresh air. We were also a very short walk from the lake and a deck. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The hotel is at lake front, near the village. The fire place in the room is a plus. Shower has good hot water flow. But the rooms noise insulation isn't the best. Overall, it's a nice place to stay for the price.Genuine Expedia guest review
We will stay here again. The lake view was awesome. Thank you big bear frontier. See you again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Wonderful place to stay while visiting Big Bear!"
My stay for three days were just fine. I had my two dogs with me. I read the comments before I booked my room. I saw that some guests thought their rooms were too hot, and others thought the walls were too thin. The first morning I was there, I took my dogs out at 7 a.m..and returned 5 minutes later. I let the dogs in the room, they were excited to […] eat and jumped up and down for 30 seconds. No kidding, someone pounded on the wall. I was so sorry, I couldn't help the situation. I quess they didn't read the blogs. I told Amy in the office the situation. She asked me if I wanted to move to a downstairs room. I felt better being downstairs. My next room on the lake side, the walls were thicker. However, more foot traffic. The weather was great. The ceiling fans were more then enough. There are not airconditioners in the rooms, so if the weather is warmer, bring your own fans. I don' t agree with the negative comments that have been written. Again, common sense, read the blogs. I would look forward to staying there again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Pleased with hotel, liked that it has a nice area on the lake. Location of hotel is close to the center of town.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"First Stay in Big Bear"
Overall the room was nice, but we were not to happy about the microwave oven. It would not program for any time under 1 minutes. if you hit # 1 to make it 15 seconds...you got only 1 minute. Hit # 2 and you got 2 minutes, it made it pretty much a manual oven.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Chalets are the best on the lake"
We stayed in one of the one-bedroom chalets which are rustic (in a good way - clean, comfortable, well taken care of). The property is one of the best on the lake that we viewed. The units are not on the lake, but it is a very short walk to a nice sitting area near the beach (get for sunrises and sunsets!).Genuine Expedia guest review
Had a very comfortable stay. We were only steps away from the lake (but no swimming). The room was the first time I have ever had a jacuzzi in my living room...loved it!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice cabin feel with the amenities of a hotel."
Very comfortable, quiet and clean. The grounds are lovely & planted with lots of flowers. Comfortable bed & nice kitchen. Has a big fireplace which we did not use because of it being summer. I would definitely stay here again. It's also within walking distance of a good BBQ restaurant.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Stand Alone Cabin Close to the Lake"
I like the stand alone cabin concept of this place. They have every available options on what type of lodging you prefer. There are apartment types, multi-room and stand alone cabins. They are quite close to the lake. The one I chose is a 1 bedroom chalet which is quite small but i have no issues because that's the one I chose.Genuine Expedia guest review
Cute cabin #3! Shower stall was dark and bathroom sink leaked. Fully furnished. Great location. Wish we could have stayed longer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The service was great! Heated pool and spa, lakefront, fireplace in room and close to village! What more can you ask for? Oh... and all at a reasonable price!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Quaint vacation spot"
We were in the hotel portion, not the cabins. The room was a cute rustic decor, and the fridge and microwave came in very handy. The closet was a nice size, and the bathroom vanity had lots of drawers, which we turned into our "pantry" for non-refrigerated foods. The beds weren't all that comfortable, and the pillows left something to be desired. There […] was no A/C, though they did have the ceiling fan and a floor fan to help make up for it. Our kids enjoyed walking out onto the "beach" and dock and feeding the ducks. The beach is a strip of sand along the shore and some chairs and picnic tables. If we'd had time, it would have been nice place to enjoy a relaxing meal and watch the lake. Overall it was an enjoyable stay. If we return, we'll definitely bring our own pillows, though. "GET A CABIN!!!"
We got a room on first floor on building by the lake, it was ok during the day but unfortunately late night a family got the room right above us and it was a nightmare...We heard every single step, their 4 showers (loud plumbing)...After 10pm there is only emergency contact no front desk, we were stuck with that room. We paid for an upgrade and front […] desk at least refunded upgrade fee. Not a romantic place, do not go if you are looking to relax and be romantic. It is ok for teens, youngsters, families etc Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Everything I was looking for and more!"
This was a last minute getaway for me - and I also wanted to take my dog with me - The hotel staff was AMAZING - they provided extra "dog towels" and didn't complain one bit when I brought it back full of sand and mud and asked for another - But that was just for starters! The cabin was SUPER CLEAN - adorable, charming and right at the beach. The price […] was super affordable and with my own kitchen, I could eat in - or out - my choice - I will definitely be back - and will bring friends - THANKS SO MUCH!! Awesome time! My only complaint was that my cabin didn't have a view of the lake. But then I was only a 2 minute walk away and from what I could tel not very many cabins really have a view. But they do offer a very nice deck on the lake with picnic tables and chairs where you can relax and enjoy the views. I would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Depends on which cabin you get."
Staff were very polite and helpful. The quality of your stay depends signficantly on which room/cabin you get. We stayed in a different cabin each night (two nights total). One cabin was fantasic! The other, not so much. The less impressive cabin was very clean and did everything that we needed it to (bed/shower/morning coffee); some of the fixtures […] could use some updating. The "compound" of Big Bear Frontier is once of the nicer ones in that part of town. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Big Bear Jeepin n Fishing trip"
We stayed in a one room cabin with an additional murphy bed in the living room. Kitchen, fridge, dishes and utensils were supplied and clean. The bedroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. The murphy bed was less comfortable and sagged in the middle. The bathroom was clean as well, but some of the grout needed replacing near the tub. Tub was very […] slippery and caution should be used with children. Water pressure was very high. Having a mud room at the front door does allow you to store bikes and other bulky items away from the living area which helped to keep the living area uncluttered. Pool was nice and warm. The Marina is right next to the property which allowed easy access to boat rentals for fishing. DVD's and VCR tapes are available for free rental, but TV had a big strip accross the top that wouldn't go away no matter how many times I tried to tweak the cables- it is an older tube tv. Overall I think this is an OK place to stay and I will stay again in the future. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice trip back in time"
Older facility, but had it's positives, swim, BB court, pingpong, billiards, free DVD loaners, picnic tables and BBgrilles. Kind of way-back cool. Great location. Nice landscaping, flowers & grass, and pines... LOL. Beds so-so soft.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good balance for price and quality for Big Bear Lk"
Arrive and found the "Chalet" to be small but rustic and nice. Was a bit unhappy, as the spa and pool were under repair closure. Then found downtown was also under construction and all jacked up as well. The staff were very nice and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review

Insufficient lighting in room. Tired bed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The first thing I noticed about the room was the clean smell. Even the closet smelled fresh. There was a convenient small fridge, microwave, hair dryer, coffee maker and more than usual number of electrical outlets. The large fireplace was pretty but we had no need to use it in August. The beds were comfortable and the connected rooms were reasonably […] quiet. We would recommend this because of the reasonable price and convenient location on Big Bear Blvd, but, away from traffic noise. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Ideal location and great staff"
Despite a mix up with our original reservation, both hotels.com and BB Frontier staff made sure everything was done right. The location was perfect giving us access to the Village and the lake. The cabin was clean, spacious and well equiped. Hotel staff was friendly and accomodating. We definitely will return and look forward to our next stay!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The room was clean and comfortable. The kitchen had all the necessary items to make my family good meals. Access to the Lake was super convinient. Best of all my dog was welcomed every where on the premises (ecept for the pool). The front desk staff were friendly and courteous. Had a great time!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good for family vacay"
This is the second summer we have stayed here. The rooms are comfortable and right by the lake, and very close to Big Bear Village. You can also walk to the Alpine Water Slide, which is a big draw for families with kids/teens. The pool and hot tub are great. We will continue staying here when we visit Big Bear.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place to stay"
We stayed here on our first family vacation to Big Bear Lake, and glad we did. We stayed for 4 days in one of the 2 bedroom chalets. Plenty of room for 2 adults and 3 kids. Inside and outside were well-maintained and clean. Service was excellent and for the money it was a good value. A lot of the other hotels in the area look run down but Big Bear Frontier […] looks fairly new. I'd definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel. Loved how it's right on the lake"
Loved this place.... very log cabinish type of hotel. Perfect for the Big Bear area. Loved how it's so close to the Village. Walking distance! And only feet from the lake. Took our coffee down to the lake in the mornings and watched the sun come up.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good locataion, cleanliness you decide."
Stayed 7 days first 2 night were very hot in room, no A/C they give you a fan, we had to keep windows open, we were miserable and could hardly sleep. When things cooled off a bit it was bearable. The first set a sheets were very thin. The second set, which I had to ask for were better. They only deep clean the room if you stay a week. Which meant that […] the bathtub was only cleaned and not very well after I asked for it. It was dirty because the sand and dirt by the hotel and lake got on kids feet. We had to ask for toilet paper, that is a first. In 42 years of traveling I have never had to ask for a bathtub to be cleaned nor have I ever had to ask for toilet paper in a hotel. We asked for the maid service 4 times and they made beds, gave us towels but never changed sheets or cleaned tub until I asked for it to be done at the front desk. I was told by front desk that is considered a DEEP CLEANING, I was shocked. I always thought if the maid service saw something that needed to be cleaned that they did it. In all the years we have traveled we have never had to ask specifically to have something to be cleaned. It is a good location and they are close to the shore at Big Bear. Pool was fairly clean. Staff was mainly ok. I rented 3 rooms the upstairs was totally miserable when it was hot and the next door people smoked out side their room at 2 AM was very inconsiderate since you had to leave your windows open due to heat. We never closed our windows for a week. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Travelers be aware!!!"
The description of this hotel was missing some very important information! That they have NO air conditioning! Although set in the mountains Big Bear still was hot and the room just would not cool off until about 12am each night. It was extremely uncomfortable. Also, the beds are sagging and have old gel mattresses on top that are dingy and disgusting […] looking. Even with the gel mattress it still did not help the fact the mattress was old and had no firmness. We were all waking up with sore backs. For the price of this place it definitely was not worth it! Look else where!!!!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Needs to be updated"
No air conditioning in rooms. Our room was located across the street. All the amenities are on the main property. Including ice. There are DVD players in the room but ours only played in black and white. The pool and spa were awesome and offer ping pong, basketball and pool table. Staff was friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
