"Great central location!"
Great central location, steps to the mainline subway, steps to great eats, walking distance or subway is easy up to Times Square / 5th Ave shopping. We were fortunate to get a 1BR suite - lots of room, kitchen, space. Thanks Affinia!Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was nice. Excellent location close to everything. We got a double room and the room was a suite. It was huge. There was nothing fancy there but that is ok. It was clean and there was so much space. Certainly larger than some one bedroom apartments. Staff was very nice. I made a mistake in booking but they accomadated us and were very sweet […] about it too. Definitely going back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Enjoyed our stay. There was an issue with the A/C unit in the room and they were very promp and efficient in having it repaired.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great room and service!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel has an extremely friendly doorman - what a delight he was! They have 6 different choices of pillows for your comfort. The kitchenette is great for a family of four - lots of room! Huge armoire for clothes. Beds are comfortable. We requested a DVD player for a family movie - they graciously brought it up & connected it for us within minutes! […] The hotel stored our luggage after checkout on our last day since our flight left later in the evening. The staff was very accommodating. We were very pleased and I would definitely stay again. "Excellent Location for Manhattan Stay"
The hotel is located in Murray Hill in Midtown which is a safe, central location close to many popular sites, shopping and restaurants. The staff at the hotel are all friendly and you feel at home as soon as you arrive. While it's not a new hotel, everything is clean and in working order. The room was spacious enough for our three person family. The […] kitchenette with a range, fridge, microwave and amenities was welcome as we were able to store food and beverages and make breakfast in the morning when needed. My wife was pretty happy with the gym. The only downside was the sofa bed that my 13 year-old used the first few nights which was uncomfortable compared to those in other hotels because the coils pushed up against her and caused her back to ache. She eventually had to sleep with us on the King. Perhaps I could have brought it to the attention of the hotel, which in retrospect, I should have. For transportation, you can catch the no. 6 subway train a block away for travel all the way up and down Manhattan's East side. Grand Central Station is just one stop away. We bought the New York City Pass to save on lining up for tickets (usually there's a special line you can use) and overall value which cost $155 for 3 days and a weekly Metro Pass for unlimited hop on/off trains and buses for $30 (both per person). When considering this hotel, think of it as a safe, comfortable place to stay but don't expect flash like large lobbies and restaurants. You'll have a good stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Only a one night stay as we were in the city for Paul McCartney concert. Hotel was very clean, staff extremely friendly. The berry-flavored ice water at check-in was a welcome treat. Bed was super comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel with kitchens and good location."
this was my first time to stay at the Dupont but have stayed at Shelbourne and Manhattan. I really did like the sky line view on 2104. It was well worth the price. The full kitchen was another asset. The only thing that was less than perfect was the loud air-condition. The doormen were very helpful in getting cabs and concierges gave excellent directions […] for subway travel. The hotel is located in walking distance to small food markets and coffee houses and not far from Grand Central Station. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Have stayed with Affinia before"
I've stayed in a few Affinia properties in Manhattan. All are run very well. Never have any issues.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not worth the money"
The hotel was quite old and bare. It was expensive for the quality of a motel. Bathrooms were small and old.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Felt safe walking around at night"
This hotel is a little farther away from the action, but the price is better than most and that is what the subway is for. A friend and I spent a few days in New York sightseeing. We were pretty much just in the room to sleep and shower for the next days activities. We walked back to the room a couple times at night and felt pretty safe. The subway […] is just a couple blocks away. The kitchen in the room was great, although we were not in the room long enough to get much use out of it. The corner market was very close. The two things I look for most when choosing a room is the comfort of the bed and the water pressure in the shower. Both these things were very good. If I ever go back to the city, I would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Bit dated. But suite with kitchen great for family. Lot of room by NY standards. Bit pricey for what you get.Genuine Expedia guest review

"A Murray Hill Gem"
This is my second time staying in an Affinia property. The Affinia Dumont is located just a few blocks from the Green Line subway (4,5,6) and convenient to both uptown and downtown attractions. The room we had (Junior Suite) had plenty of space to spread out, a very comfortable bed, sitting area and office/work area. The kitchen was equipped with everything […] a guest would need to prepare breakfast or snacks. Murray Hill Market and a huge Duane Reade (both amazingly well stocked with items) are on the same block. Second Avenue Deli and other great local restaurants are within easy walking or taxi distance. The staff was friendly, helpful, courteous and professional. Every question or request was answered quickly and efficiently. We would gladly stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"disappointed with it"
very disappointing as it is a 4 star hotel on 34 th street you would expect a modern looking hotel, but lobby is too small, and rooms are very old and dreary looking. paying extra for wifi is just wrong. it should be included as free wifi in rooms. when planning your day and getting tickets for shows etc, wifi in rooms helps with that as we search for […] shows online and make necessary calls for it. room walls are thin I could hear everything next door. the kitchen looked very old. as far as staffing they were ok. "Clean and Pleasant"
We stayed for a night at the Infinia Dumont (located at 150 E 34th Street, between 3rd Ave and Lexington Ave). The staff was very pleasant and acknowledging of our presence when we would come and go. When I stepped into the room (junior suite, one king bed w/sofa sleeper), first thing I noticed was how big the room was for a hotel in nyc. We also had […] a corner view on the 9th floor which was kinda cool. My wife is a germaphobe, but the room we had at the Infinia Dumont rates among the cleanest we have stayed in. The 24 hour pharmacy directly across the street came in handy a couple of times. There are also many places to eat in the area. "Service with a smile"
We love this hotel. Convenient, mid town location. Easy to walk in all directions. We asked for a higher floor than the room originally assigned to us. They happily accommodated our request for the following nights of our stay. The only negative about the hotel is an annoying lack of free wi-fi in the rooms. This seems like an outdated practice not […] fitting with the rest of the amenities and service the hotel offers. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location, mother daughter weekend"
Location was excellent. Front desk staff and concierge staff, bellman, very accommodating. The room was well appointed. An extra down comforter or blanket would be nice to have in the closet, as well as another pillow. I would stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, superb overall experience"
As a family of three, we booked two rooms -- two queen beds in one and a king in the other. Both of the rooms were fantastic, exactly what he hoped for. What I didn't know before booking was that both rooms, and maybe all, have a kitchen in the room (fridge, freezer, oven, etc). If you're looking for the comfort of a hotel yet also the amenities of […] an apartment, this is the place to be. Also, if you're only spending a couple of nights like we did, make sure you try the different types of pillows they make available for their guests! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location - Excellent Property"
I've stayed here a number of times on business and my wife and I have stayed for pleasure in a sister property, the Affinia Shelbourne. These folks operate very good hotels - excellent experiences always. I like the Murray Hill/mid town location. It's not exactly right next to everything but in between uptown and downtown. There's a 4-5-6 subway station […] a block and a half away which is uber efficient. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"An awesome home base for a family vacation!"
I spent five nights at the Affinia Dumont with my two teen daughters and my cousin at the end of March 2013. It was our first trip to NYC, and I really didn't know where to stay. I had never heard of this chain, but was seeking a roomier-than-most-in-NYC room so the four of us would not be falling over each other. Even after reading reviews and checking […] their website, I was skeptical that the Affinia Dumont would live up to its promise of spaciousness and a full kitchenette, but I was more than pleased when we got there! The lobby is small and not particularly impressive, but our large room had an amazing view, two queen beds, a large desk, a reading chair, a good-size bathroom and a kitchen with fridge, stove/oven, sink, microwave, toaster, and dishes. Most importantly, plenty of space. As for location, it was safe and convenient (five minute walk to a subway station, ten minute walk to Grand Central) so we could easily get anywhere. There was a little market right down the street so we could stock a few items in the room, and a deli across the street for a quick breakfast. The staff was friendly and pleasant. We arrived early off a redeye, but it was very easy to store (and later retrieve) our bags until check-in time. We called to get extra towels and they were promptly delivered. The doorman was friendly and helpful about getting us a taxi when we needed one. The next time I go to NYC, I will definitely try to stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Big suite for New York"
We booked the one bedroom suite and it was terrific for our needs. Didn't use the kitchen at all - but it was great to have friends over for wine and cheese before we went out to dinner. Close to many things and we would stay again. Manhattan is so easy to get around.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Midtown - Close to Sights"
We chose the Affinia Dumont based on a previous stay. Centrally located, near a metro stop and surrounded by (relatively) inexpensive eateries it is a safe and pleasant place. Each room has a refrigerator and small kitchenette, especially helpful to store breakfast items, coffee, snacks, etc. You can get anything you need from a good, local market right […] down the street. Beds and heating/air conditioning controls are very comfortable and that is important to us. The hotel is safe, clean and staff is very friendly. Rooms are larger than most NYC hotels and there is a sitting area a very large desk and work area. The cleaning staff will go out of their way to see to your needs. There is a small workout room with treadmills and some other basic equipment, also a full-service massage and facial spa! This time there seemed to be a LOT of sirens, street noise and it was a bit interruptive. Use the ear plugs the hotel provides if you want to be ensured a quieter nights' sleep. We were traveling with our teenage granddaughter. When we asked for an extra blanket for the sofa bed, we were told that they had none and they brought up three sheets instead,. Busy weekend but still! Otherwise, just fine. Expensive, but it was spring break and most of the hotels were equally outrageously priced. Great neighborhood.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Our family loved this hotel..very nice!"
Our family really enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was very nicely decorated and very clean. There were 2 closets and a lot of drawer space. The bathroom was large, nice and clean. The only thing missing was an exhaust fan. The beds were very comfortable and they gave us the choice of 6 types of pillows. The kitchen was really nice and had dishes, microwave, […] large refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker. Anytime we called down to request something they brought it right up with hardly any wait. The housekeeper did a very good job cleaning the room. The front desk people were very friendly and the doorman had a great personality. There was a charge for Wi-Fi but you could also use it for free in the hotel lobby. The elevators were really fast and never crowded. Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks are next door along with a grocery store on the corner (with already prepared food) and 2 drug stores nearby. McDonalds was around the corner. I recommend buying snacks and small ready made meals at the grocery store and bring them back to the room to eat. We did not eat at the Barking Dog next door. The #6 Metro/subway is only 2 blocks away. This hotel is in a nice quiet location and it felt safe. Our kids are 10 and 14 and they loved the hotel. We will be back! "Good New York option"
The staff at this hotel is unbeatable. While we are usually very non demanding customers, there were several items in our rooms that needed attention. They were corrected immediately by staff with apologies. However, our "premium" junior suite had furniture with many large scratches and the other furnishings looked worn. Daily cleanup was barely adequate. […] A nice touch is that large bottles of shower gel, shampoo and conditioner were in the tub so you didn't have to contend with those annoying travel size toiletries. As a business traveler I appreciated the large desk and comfortable desk chair. The last added bonus was a good restaurant (Barking Dog) next door which served all three meals at moderate prices. Food there was good and plentiful. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel for family!"
Great staff, room and location!! Only thing missing was breakfast but having the kitchen and the market close by made it easy to make our own!Genuine Expedia guest review
This was an all girls trip, 6 total (3 sisters with one daughter each). The hotel concierge as well as all other staff were freindly and very helpful. Going to NYC from Texas for the very first time we felt very welcomed and comfortable at Affinia Dumont. Rooms were neat and clean. The subway was close by for us to catch when we were headed far but […] other than that we walked just about everywhere because it was close by to the Empire State Bldg., markets, restaurants, delis, shopping stores, etc. Our girls ages 16 and 14 enjoyed staying there. "Great room to share with your pet"
It is not always easy to find a nice hotel in large cities that accept pets, large pets... Our experience was really great: The room was of a very good size, extremely convenient, quiet, clean. It would have been ideal to have a little park or some green area close, but we were in Manhattan, so that is not necessarily easy to find. We did go to Central […] Park one day and our pet loved it. Pretty much what I expected. Excellent location 2 blks from no. 6 subway - easy travel uptown (Fifth AVE museums) or downtown. Plenty of dining options nearby including a plethora of Indian & Pakistani restaurants along Lexington between 26th & 30th (the area is nicknamed "Curry Hill" for obvious reasons). BONUS! Room w/ 2 queens exceptionally spacious […] for Manhattan. Mini kitchen handy w/ fridge, microwave & toaster though the lack of utensils would have made actual cooking (vs. reheating or minor prep) out of the question. Clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable beds. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The only thing that marred our 3 nt stay was a 5 AM wake up call that was intended for another room! I feel sorry for the person who didn't get their call. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good location, clean room and safe area."
My husband and I stayed for a night in the city as we tend to do every now and then. The location of the hotel is safe and only a couple of blocks away from the subway station. If you are use to walking it is only about 10 blocks from Grand Central Station. Korean town or K-town is just a few blocks away and so does the Empire State Building. There […] are plenty of restaurans in the area. We were given a room with a kitchen (fridge, microwave, stove, cooking utensils, etc). This is good for family and those who are on extended stay. Usually this is what hotels do when you stay with them for the first time. They put you in a room with all the extra amenities so you will come back or recommend to others. The lobby is clean but minimal in the decorating area. Overall I would recommend this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice neighborhood, pleasant staff."
Good for the price. Nice neighborhood. Travel with kids makes kitchen a nice plus. 2 nights of very noisy heater kept us from a good nights rest. Wouldn't have minded one night but saying it was fixed only to be woken up a second night with the same loud noise is unacceptable. Other than that the staff is friendly and helpful. "overall, a great stay"
Booked two rooms for my family, overall a great experience. The only problem was the heat and the internet...both were broken. If those things were taken care of, it would have been perfect.
