"Great Location, excellent staff"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Stayed here on our honeymoon, couldn't have asked for a better place for the money. The staff was extremely helpful with speedy check in/out. Concierge staff was on their A game the entire time. Room was cleaned daily and very comfortable. The bar was nice but a bit expensive ( but that's London). Vauxhall tube station is only a five minute walk which isn't bad at all. There is a grocery store next door that has about everything you need. Was a great stay.

London’s 21st-century waterside business district, Canary Wharf is best known for its cutting-edge architecture, including the 50-storey obelisk-shaped skyscraper, One Canada Square. Get there by the Docklands Light Railway, with elevated tracks giving wonderful views into a world of glass and steel. By contrast, historic Greenwich, home to the National Maritime Museum, is just across the Thames. A foot tunnel links the two.

"Marriot at Canary Wharf London"
I choose this location to be close to someone I was visiting. The hotel was very clean accomodating. Room service was fast and food was prepared to your liking. It is located near the Canary wharf Underground station where there is easy access to the DLR and Jubilee lines which makes access to central London and surrounding areas quick and easy. There […] is also many shops, restaurants, and banks in Cabary Wharf so you can get anything you need and want! The only negative thing I can say is that the hotel room was a liitle to warm and the cooling fan did not help regulate the temperature. Read more
"Five star?"
I rarely stay in five star hotels, and tend to splurge once-in-a-while. This hotel does not meet any expectations of a five star. The room was so-so, the view was HORRIBLE, and the service was poor (behind the desk and those who help). The Marriott West India Quay does not even have free wi-fi! What a waste of money! Waste!
"don't bring your ipad"
no wireless! internet by hotel-provided cable only. cable not compatible with ipads or iphone. internet charges very high.. curve restaurant is of average-quality but very expensive. our room looked onto train tracks and a concrete overpass.
"One of the best hotels anywhere"
This is one of the best hotels anywhere I stayed at in 40 years of traveling worldwide. The attention to details, care and quality of service are first rated. The location adds to the pleasure. Will never go to another hotel while in London.
"One of the Best"
The hotel was nice and clean with excellent customer service. The restaurant food and service was perfect as well. The hotel is situated on the water front and lots of nice restaurants a few steps away. Best is that the hotel is right next to the DLR train station and one can go anywhere in London in moments time. A pleasure to stay at this hotel.

"West India Quay Marriott is fabulous"
This 5-star hotel was incredible! As with most Marriotts, the service was excellent. The staff was very helpful, because the UK adapter plug I bought was the wrong one, and they let me use theirs (with a small deposit). There was plenty of room in the suite, and it was definitely better than smaller and older London hotels. We were on the 4th floor […] with a view of the water (and a large crane), as well as the DLR (light rail). The rail station was nearby, so you could hear the train; if you are a light sleeper, I would recommend a high-level room. The staff was very helpful with all of our needs. My traveler friend's adapter would not work with her curling iron, so they sent up a brand-new boxed Vidal Sassoon curling iron (for a small deposit).Linens were clean and the room was kept clean. The Manhattan, the interior pub, had good drinks, but not the best food. The mini-bar is a small frig with items electronically calculated, and only one small shelf on top for keeping things cool. This area is a business district, and is very quiet during the weekend. Breakfast is offered for 3 prices (fairly expensive): dry cereal only, cereal and fruit, and the full line, including fresh omlettes. Daily coffee and tea are free in both your rooms and the lobby. Be sure to try some tea and biscuits! If you are traveling alone, this is a very safe area and place to stay. You need a room key to get to any floor in the building. The concierge was always helpful with directions, and gave and circled maps for us. He also was able to purchase tickets there for us. If you are traveling into London and back, Happy travels! "Great hotel for price, but be aware of its locatio"
The hotel itself is quite nice and the staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. But the hotel is not near any sites, restaurants, etc. It is placed near a financial district with offices surrounding it. Luckily there is a train station right next door which we took daily to get into central London. The rooms were clean and we chose a room with a […] view of the river. The opposing side was a view of the surrounding buildings - including construction on the upcoming olympic site. The staff tended to our every need - giving us umbrellas when it rained and bringing us a selection of cookies (at no charge) for our children in the evening. Highly recommend this hotel providing you don't mind the train ride into the city (2-3 connections but easy enough if you are used to the Underground). Note that we had a rental car and it is useless within the city of London. Park it at the parking garage across from the hotel and take the train!! Too much traffic and no parking. You also need a pass to enter the city during weekdays - gets expensive and time consuming. Trains are best. Used our rental to get us to outskirts of London to visit my daughter at Cambridge - otherwise we would not have needed a rental car. And be careful of rentals car agencies in London. Mark any small scratches, damage or they will try to charge you for it - even if they say they won't - they will. Also recommend taking pistures of the car when you rent it as well as when you return it! Read more

"Perfect for the O2 arena"
Guests must note that this hotel is not in central London, which is a 25 min tube ride away. If you are planning to attend events at the O2 arena, it is perfect. The tube is within minutes and the O2 is 1 tube stop away. Surrounding area is Canary wharf with limitless shopping and eating.
"Great hotel"
We stayed here for four days in London and got a terrific deal. We arrived early in the morning and they were nice enough to check us before 3pm. The hotel is a bit out of the way but the DLR line will get you to where you need to go which is nice. The hotel is clean, staff is great, I would highly recommend staying here.

"Enjoyed our stay"
We enjoyed the hotel. Great place for the money. We enjoyed being in the Docklands. Prepare to spend some time on the tube. Overall a great place.
"faultless"
we stayed for just one night for a concert at the O2 and had an extremely pleasant experience. The 'executive' room was great, in particular the fabulously comfortable bed, pillows, linen, mattress ! Breakfast was also very very good with anything you might wish for in a buffet breakfast.
"Not 5 Star"
The hotel is nice and clean, but definately doesn't pass for what we consider in America a five star hotel. Booking the room was deceptive as we booked a king bed room and I didn't see this as only a request as they didn't have a king bed for us when we arrived. That was annoying as they wanted to put us in a room with twin beds. They gave a us a handicapped […] room with a king bed. So this hotel was okay and clean, just not a five star American quality hotel. Read more
"Great value for money"
Very convenient transport links - quality hotel at an affordable price - would definitely stay there again
"Very Very Impressed"
Very fine hotel. Try and get a room away from the LDR if you are a light sleeper.
"Relaxing Break"
I booked this hotel as a surprise for my boyfriend's birthday. We had a relaxing weekend. The room was really comfortable, if we needed anything in the room the hotel were happy to help. When we arrived reception was very helpful and full of information regarding transport and the local area. I would recommend this hotel to friends, its a perfect […] location for the O2 arena, we would stay again. Read more
"Area has real buzz but hotel rooms dated"
We actually live fairly local to Docklands (SE9) but had always wanted to stay in this fantastic looking hotel. We were upgraded from deluse to executive room overlooking west india quay. However, the room was identical to a travel lodge room - the tv was dated and the sound broken, the decor was aged and although we were there for the atmosphere in […] west india quay - the hotel room just felt tatty. The bar / restaurant and other areas were fine. I guess we just wanted something more for the money - the fact VAT is added to the room charge is annoying too - why not just include it, Overrall, a great hotel for location and view - not for luxury re the executive rooms. "Plush and comfortable"
We stayed at the Marriot West India Quay for a short weekend break, and whilst it is obvious that this is a business hotel, the leisure weekend was wonderful. The staff are friendly and courteous, the rooms are fabulous and the executive lounge is comfortable and full of freebies. It was a really wonderfully relaxed stay, recommend to anyone (especially […] at the weekend prices!) Read more
"Weekend Break"
The hotel is situated beside the DLR which is so convenient for getting into the city and coming home late at night. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We thoroghly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again when we're over in London. The room prices are so resonable compared to other 5* hotels in the city and you wouldn't get […] the same type of luxury and friendly staff as you would in the Marriot West. Definitely recommend. "hotel marriet- west india quay"
The hotel looked brilliant and it was untill check out day, we were due to check out by 12 but received a call at 8 30 which no one spoke at the other end, we then had the cleaner knock on our door at 9 then 10 45! It was a very good stay apart from that.
"Becoming a firm favorite hotel in London"
Have stayed at West India Quay a number of times during 2011 and early 2012 and continue to be extremely pleased with the quality and comfort of this hotel. The staff are most accommodating and the hotel is clean, fresh and beautifully appointed. The king sized beds are heavenly and appreciate the staff's willingness to provide extra towels and room […] amenities. Have stayed in the Executive Apt. as well and they are fabulous, esp. if you have children and want more space to spread out. Canary Wharf is a great location with lots of buzz during the week, but becomes quieter on weekends. The Jubilee Line makes tube travel to the West end a snap, so don't be put off by the east end location. Take time to wander the gentrified docklands and you'll see how cleverly london is being transformed. Be prepared that during Olympic dates the area will be a zoo, but this hotel would provide welcome refuge at the end of busy days. Love the restaurant makeover and the inclusion of a bountiful buffet breakfast as part of the room rate. Highly recommend this hotel. Read more

"Hotel Marriot West India Quay"
We have stayed in London many times but keep returning to the Marriot. the hotel staff are excellent very helpful and have good knowledge of the area. the only downside is the cost of the breakfast so we always get up early and go into the centre of London. The rooms are large and the last 2 times we have stayed we have overlooked the river which is […] fantastic. The journey time into the centre of London takes no time at all. Read more
"Marriott West India Quay"
Very good hotel, the staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. It is located outside of London but public transport is very close, in walking distance, and easy to use especially train service. Also in walking distance is a large shopping centre and a good selection of eating places including a pub. I would be happy to stay here again.

"Marriott Hotel West India Quay -London"
This has got to be one of the best hotels in London that I have stayed in. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was fabulous! Very clean and comfortable surroundings and a view overlooking the docks. I was also amazed at how quiet it was at night, no external noise interference at all! In the resturant they were able to seat us straight away […] andoffered a great choice of food. I had one of the nicest steaks i've ever tasted. My partner went on about the steak for days after we'd left. Canary wharf is walking distance with a choice of great eateries if you don't fancy the hotel resturant and plenty of walks along the river to burn all that overeating. Overall I would thoroughly recommend this hotel. It would be great for one night pampering yourself or several nights as an escape from the urban ratrace. Read more
"The Marriot, West India Quay"
The view from the floor to ceiling windows were spectacular. The surrounding restaurants and bars were all lit up for Christmas which made for a great atmosphere. We ate late in the hotel bar after the restaurant had closed and despite being incredibly busy the quality of the food was very good, and served hot. Had to wait a little while for the food, […] but as we were with friends and chatting over drinks it didn't matter. Will definately stay here again! Read more

"Marriot hotel in west india"
went away on the weekend with my boyfriend and decided to stay at the marriot hotel which was a good choice. The hotel room was spacious and i was given my preference i.e.king bed, which was nice and comfy. Staff were really nice and helped us with our queries. Would definately stay at the marriot again.

"Marriott hotel London DocklAnds"
This property is not what I would expect from a 5 star London hotel. It's decor was tired and it lacked many of the extras in a delux room you would expect from a hotel with this rating. No free mineral water, no dressing gowns and soap & shampoo for only one person despite the reservation being for a couple and request for towels for two to be provided. Not […] as good as other hotels I have stayed at in the area. Read more

"Marriott hotel West India Quay"
perfect location - Canary Wharf area a real revelation. Don't trust the hotel map - Canary Wharf or West india Quay really are the closest tube/DLR stations. Nothing too much trouble for staff - they even arranged to have a troublesome padlock cut off our case ! Hotel gym a cut above others and a real pleasure to use. Will definitely come back to stay […] here again ! Read more
"Marriot West India Quay - Close to O2 Arena"
I have stayed here a few times, purely for the proximity to O2 arena (one tube ride away). The hotel is on the wharf next to bars/restaurants which is a welcomed convenience. The rooms are simple and clean, spacious enough and the hotel restaurant is as you'd expect from this chain - good menu and friendly atmosphere. Nice place to stay if your goal […] is to be in Canary Wharf district. Read more

"WEST INDIA QUAY MARRIOTT HOTEL LONDON"
I stayed at this hotel with my 10 year old daughter on June 25/26 2011 as we were going to see a concert at the o2 arena and it was quite close by. I found this hotel absolutely fantastic and am definitely going to stay there on my next visit. All staff were wonderfully friendly from the doorstaff, reception, restaurant and were lovely to my daughter […] - very child friendly. The room was very clean and modern and the bed extremely comfortable, brilliant view and had all the nice little extras in the room we like - bathrobe, slippers - even a little mouthwash and bath crystals! Breakfast was a lovely relaxing experience with a huge selection of good quality food. Location is perfect. It is right next to West India Quay DLR (don't worry though, you are not disturbed by any noise from this) and is also within a 5 minute walk of Canary Wharf tube (a lovely walk along the river side). We chose to take the clipper river boat to the O2 on the night of the concert (the river stop is also only a short 5 minute walk away) which was a wonderful way to arrive right outside the arena. When the concert finished at 10.30pm we took the river boat back which finished the night off perfectly. (We have been to the O2 before staying more central and had a hideous wait for the tube/taxis after the concerts finished - the boat is by far the quickest option from my experience and more fun!) West Inida Quay Marriott - 10/10 - perfect!! Read more
"GREAT PLACE TO STAY"
Only 20 mins from central London, this hotel is modern, clean with good service and a great breakfast. There are a number of restaurants nearby and the hotel is right next to the India Quay DLR station so very convenient for London. Set in the old Docklands it provides an haven from the noise and clutter of central London while taking just 20 mins to […] reach the bright lights. Well worth a stay if you are in town to see the sights or on business in Canary Wharf. Highly recommended. Read more

"Canary Wharf Marriott"
This Hotel is as you would expect, modern, clean and efficient. Well located for all of the Canary Wharf businesses with the benefit of shops and restaurants on the doorstep. The quayside location gives you the impression of being on holiday. A little far out of Central London for sightseeing but a great location but none the worse for that.
