Hotel needs a VERY SERIOUS RENOVATION OVERHAUL!! If you're a business traveler, FORGET IT!! Only WIFI available is in the hotel lobby building. The hotel grounds are vast and pretty nice as well as the hotel lobby building. Unfortunately NOT THE ROOMS! In addition to needing badly renovation, the rooms are unattractive and definitely 2 star. The beds […] are OK but the pillows are TERRIBLE (really!). Pretty good choice of TV stations (on a small TV though). The food is, if not awful, worse than mediocre. I was looking forward to doing some of the spa, the indoor pool and distractedly working a bit on my computer. NOT! The 4 day relax some escapade I'd imagined was not practical : no robes in the room nor slippers (I figured that 5 star hotel with spa and pool must have those...nope!). The hotel rooms are so spread out all over the grounds that impossible to imagine walking outside in the robe and slippers and even the halls of the gigantic building where the rooms are did not lend itself to doing this either (brrr!). Not exactly my idea of a spa either. Lugging my computer 5 minute walk to relaxfully work in the lobby building with tons of people milling around just to get wifi didn't appeal either. Another bad surprise : we paid extra for "deluxe room with pool view". Ha! While somewhat an exaggeration, you'd need binoculars to view the outside pool! This hotel was disappointing from start to finish. Upon arrival we found the staff to be rude. Our room was dirty, littered with used towels, hair in the sink, and a noticeably used toilet. The air conditioning didn't work. When I went to call reception about the state of our room we realised the phone didn't work either so everytime we had a problem […] or needed something we had to walk to reception. We had paid an extra £7 a night for a full ala carte breakfast, which is not on offer anywhere in the hotel. Instead we had the buffet, for which you had to queue 20 mins for your eggs or pancakes. The cold food that was out was insufficient and we often struggled to find clean plates and clean tables to sit at. The hotel was clearly full to a capacity that they just could not manage. The pool area is quite nice but both times I went down no towels were available. When these issues were brought to the attention of the staff we found them rude an unapologetic. We only received any sort of an apology when finally speaking to the manager. The hotel is about a 25-30 min walk to the main square. We checked in late (about 11 pm) to this hotel as we had flown into Agadir and travelled to Marrekech the same evening, a threehour car ride. Our Pre-paid room was no longer available. After waiting for some time in a smoke filled lobby (YUCK!), an uninspiring suite was arranged for us for one night. One major problem was that it only had one king size […] bed and there were 4 traveling in our group. Two uncomfortable cots were brought into the room for our pre- teen aged children to use, along with two blankets. One was so soiled that we could not use it! Breakfast-buffet style/service/food mediocre.. Definately 3 star, at best! The Indoor pool was stuffy and cost an extra charge of 10 dirham per person. The outdoor pool was cold! When my daughter asked for towels, she was told that she couldn't have one as she was given one already. So apparently, if you wanted a dry one, you were out of luck! Overall, we felt that the front desk staff were not very helpful, although one staff member did gift us with a plate of fresh fruit and roses one day as compensation for our room not being available to us on the first night. There really isn't a consierge at this hotel and the front desk had to search high and low for a map of the city when we requested one. We wish that we had chosen to stay at the Sofitel instead! Excellent hotel. Pleasant staff (most english speaking). We checked in past midnight without any problem. Excellent room and AC etc. Cleaned everyday although mini-bar was not stocked regularly (which could bring the hotel more revenue). Do NOT stay at this hotel! We stayed here on our last night in Marrakech. We booked what we thought was a 5 star hotel to end our trip with some luxury! This is not a 5 star hotel. Two stars would be generous. We were met on arrival by unhelpful reception staff. Our room was located through a maze of dark corridors at the very back of the hotel. It […] was lunchtime when we arrived so we went for something to eat at the pool. Getting towels at the pool was near impossible. The restaurant staff were rude and unhelpful when we tried to order food. Frustrated with staff and service, we decided to eat elsewhere. It was late when we got back to the hotel so we ordered room service. The food delivered to the room (after 1hr) was cold so we sent it back for something else which took another 30 mins to deliver. Checking out the following morning we planned to share our bad experience with the reception staff. We were never even asked how our stay was! Without saying a word, a staff member placed the bill for the room service on the desk and that was that! They simply had no interest in us and that's why we feel like we should have our say here. Not much to say about this hotel : it is definitely not a 5-stars hotel according to the French or American scale, but it has a good quality/price ratio when using last minute booking discounts. You have to take the taxi (~$3 after negotiation) for getting to the Medina, as walking is difficult (20min walk under direct sunlight, no shadow). The hotel […] in itself is quite alright : very nice hall, really good pool and garden. Our room was large, clean, with two queen size beds (while we asked for one king size). The bathtub was really small, with no shower curtain, making it impossible to shower without wetting the whole (tiny) bathroom. The breakfast buffet was average-low, with the waiters completely overwhelmed and unable to clean your previously occupied table in less than 15 minutes. Food quality was not that great. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this hotel specifically, as any 5 stars hotel from this neighborhood (Hivernage) should provide the same level of quality. But when discounted, do not hesitate. The hotel whilst claiming 5*'s was very far from the standard of the local Sofitel 5* hotel. I would have considered it closer to 3* but it was fine for a short visit. We arranged a visit to the Atlas Mountains via the hotel. We paid for the 4X4 day trip which was very expensive. On the mornin gof the trip the vehicle arrived - Driver did not speak […] any english, window demisters did not work ad in torrential rain the vvehicle had no windscreen wipers - It was so bad it was almost funny 'Fawlty Towers ish" buit the downside was that we had no trip and lost the opportunity to see the mountains up close - The hotel did refund our money without complaint. We were in Marrakech for the explosion so you should understand that and review is coloured by this experience - When we asked for guidance at reception on the day of the explosion (what should we do / where should we avoiud / should we consider flying home etc) none was forthcoming and in fact all acted as if it had never happened. No updates etc - we had to rely on BBC News 24 and the internet. We stayed around the hotel for 1 day but weather was not great and without good weather the hotel was not a great place to spend time. It was a lonely trip for 6 days although 3 to 4 days would be just as good enough because Marrakech is actually a small city in comparsion with London. Kenzi Farah is a very nice hotel. Maybe not 5 star for European or American taste, but definitely close to 5 stars because it has a large number of amenities, from what I can recall: 3 nice restaurants open every night, a large swimming pool which I enormously enjoyed, a very very large garden with palm trees, grass, plants, etc. a fantastic place for […] kids to walk around. There is a indoor pool (10 euros per day) I didn't use it because temperature was great so I used the outside pool. There is a gym, a spa, hair dresser, etc. There are even 3 stores to buy stuff inside the hotel and also a currency exchange desk with the best rates I could find in town. There are many spaces to hang out, so you never feel observed or in a place that is over crowded. People in the front desk are not very friendly but they are polite. I could always find english speaking staff, but not all of them speak the language. If you speak french then you will not have any problem The buffet restaurant staff was very nice, the managers there showed a lot of courtesy and one of them spoke Spanish, my native language so it was very easy for us to communicate. I booked a standard double room and it was huge, with two queen size beds inside and views to the swimming pool. Air conditioning didn't work apparently, but you didn't need it with 25 degrees during the day. My only complaint, but probably an accident, is that wifi (which is free everywhere in the hotel including your room) broke down at our second day. It took them 3 days to fix it. They didn't seem to care much but I did. Regardless of this incident, I loved Kenzi Farah, and personally would have staid on the hotel the whole 5 days we were in Marrakech, but my wife "forced" me to walk around the city: The neighborhood is a high income one, with many big hotels and large private houses around. Reasonable hotel, but not the star standard as advertised. A member of staff walked in to our room (when my wife was on her own) on the first day, without knocking on the door and the do not disturb sign was on the door. This was repeated next day when my wife was just out the shower. The mark up on a bottle of water was an insult (30 D in the hotel and about 5 D in a local supermarket). Spa and gym not very special and certainly not worth the money. Lst full day involved the staff moving sun bed with everybody's belongings on them and just dumping them anywhere to allow the pool area to be set up with tables so the L4 Trophy Dune racers could dine out. When asked what was going on, staff were very rude and dismissive. Don't, I repeat DON'T (please don't!) book the vening culture show. Food very very poor and tasteless. The so called culture and dancing was even worse. Be careful of the local taxis. Always ask the bell hops to organise the taxi and more importantly the price and agree this beforehand. Just came back from a two day break in Marrakech. The overall experience in Kenzi Farah was OK but this is not a 5 star hotel even by the Moroccan standards. I would put it as 3 or 4 Star. We booked a room for 3 (my wife, my two old year girl and myself). We were suprised to get a twin room with two single beds combined together, there were also only […] enough towels for two people, not for 3. We complained but we've been told that the hotel is very busy and that they would give us a different room the next day... something that never happened. They also promised to send us a cotbed and extra towels. After few hours, still nothing, and after a second complaint we got the codbed.. but no extra towels. We were also disappointed that there was a charge to use the indoor swimming pool and gym, something that was not mentioned when we booked the room. The charge was 100 MAD (about 8 Pounds). We were also told that our daughter won't be allowed in the indoor swimming pool as it's a SPA (minimum age is 16). The Playground was not to be used as the whole time we've been there they were watering the garden and everyting was wet. Before booking Kenzi Farah, I read several reviews and eventually settled for this one because it met most of my needs which included an indoor pool, a gym, on-site SPA and free internet access. Room condition was good and everything worked ok. Disappointed that there was no coffee/tea making facilites in the room for a supposedly 5 star hotel. However, […] was not surprised at the hotel service being below what you expect from a 5 star hotel as I had read in reviews that this is the norm in Marrakech; basically the service is more of a 4 star hotel in Europe. Sometimes some of the staff especially in the restaurant come across as a bit rude but not something they are aware of as it's how some of them behave in that part of the world especially men. But it's not with all of them. The buffett breakfast was good and I was satisfied with choices; however dinner at the hotel is just basic and nothing to shout about but if you're not in the mood to go outside the hotel it's okay and fits the bill of what you pay. Note that though they advertise high speed internet access, you don't get access in the rooms. You have to go to the lobby area or the restaurnat or bar to use the WiFi which is free. So if you want access in your room, then you may have to look elsewhere. Ah and if you want to have a good relaxing moment. you've got to try the Hammam spa and if you can afford an hour massage immediately after, it is worth it. Even with the work being carried out at the Hotel our stay was close to perfect. The facillities are very good with a fantastic restaurant on site. Billed as 5* do not get your hopes up. Basic accommodation, room not cleaned very well, shower a bit mouldy and grout falling away from tiles. Pillows and beds comfortable. Air con very noisy and pumps out nothing but freezing air no matter how you twiddle the dial. Breakfast chaos, tables not cleared, you have to beg for tea/coffee (then it arrives […] cold), not enough crockery, long wait for crepes/omelettes - how can anyone ruin buffet breakfast. Bar lacks any atmosphere. Lunch service very very slow and pizza looks like it comes out of a freezer pack. No waiter service around the pool - which is freezing but looks clean. Pool man does not like you moving your bed out of his set formation! Concierge service non existant - 3 times we were told that a reservation was not needed to be told differently when we arrived at the restaurants. You have to pay extra to use the gym. This hotel is in the Hivernage area and while safe and accessible for day trips and so on, is a bit less of the full on Morocco experience that you get in a Riad. Despite the baggage charge at the Easyjet check in desk, we finally arrived at the Kenzi farah. What a pleasant surprise, we were collected in a black Mercedes from the airport and received a warm welcome from hotel staff.
