"Great 4th of July"
Few if any other hotels in Newport have both an indoor and outdoor pool, which is why this one was great. Rooms were spacious, clean and had a great view. Great location, central to everything, but pretty limited parking. We asked for extra blankets and the housekeeping just dropped them off at the front door rather than knocking and giving them to […] us. We just thought they had forgotten and not delivered until we found them the next morning. We werent able to check into the hotel until 2 hours after check in time bc the room wasnt ready yet. Overall, a good place to stay, esp for larger groups. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was fabulous. 2 bedroom condo with a working fireplace, huge fireplace, 2 decks. We loved it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The only reason for a "4" rating for comfort of room is that the living room sofa and chairs are not comfortable. Everything else was quite nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
First time ever up in Newport and the hotel was perfect for my wife and I. Plenty of room in the suite for us for the weekend. Water pressure and temperature were excellent. Located just shy of the busiest part of Newport which made it very easy for restaurants and shopping. Only con was the promised free Wi-Fi in the room. The Wi-Fi just didn't work. […] But overall, we'd definitely go back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Requested and later confirmed by phone that two bedroom suite overlooked harbor, as location was very important. Was given rooms overlooking parking lot and street and could not even see harbor behind other buildings. Midweek, resort seemed almost empty but we were told they could not change assigned suite. Invoice provided by resort on departure indicated […] I paid Expedia almost 40% more for two night stay than resort would have charged. I do not understand this. A very disappointing experience both with Expedia and the resort. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Comfortable and centrally located"
I was a little nervous since I had seen some less favorable reviews on other sites. I was pleased that it was a perfect 2 bedroom setup for a girls getaway for three. The unit had all the conveniences and was near everything within easy walking distance.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
great room in great location! Within walking distance to shops & restaurants. Two balconies - each overlooking the bay. Will go back for sure!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location for the Newport Boat Show!"
Hotel Hits: the location can't be beat if you want easy access to Newport harbor (docks, wharves, shops). The hotel was clean and stocked with all the necessities (including laundry detergent). The staff accommodated all our requests with a smile. The view of the harbor from our room was lovely. Hotel Misses: the ground floor entrance area to our building […] was damp and smelly due to the high level of humidity. This is probably a normal condition for Newport so I suggest they come up with some way to dry the carpeting (or remove it) so it doesn't smell so badly. This is the only thing I could find fault with during our stay. This place was a hidden gem in Newport and we will definitely be back! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beware.....read the fine print"
Beware....this is not a hotel it is a timeshare property. Therefore do not expect daily maid service! Which is fine, if it is mentioned up front at the time of booking or even at check-in. Also, check out is 10am NOT 11am, like most hotels or B&Bs in the area. This is something that should also be mentioned when you check in by the front desk staff, […] but was not. Those are my only two gripes with this property. Otherwise, the rooms are GIGANTIC (I booked a 2bd room). There was a kitchen, dinning area, living room with fireplace and 2 decks! Location is great, right on Thames near restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I am normally not comfortable staying in hotels, but this was an exception! Very clean and comfortable rooms. Fully equipped kitchen. Great views from every window. Would definitely stay here again!Genuine Expedia guest review
"great view. great location. great stay."
We stayed here for a bachelorette party and the room was perfect for a group of 10. There was plenty of room and all of the amenities that we needed. It was great to have 3 full baths with this being a group of girls. The view was beautiful and the location was perfect. We were able to walk to dinner and out for cocktails.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very roomy and comfortable"
There were 4 in our party and everyone was pleased with the suite and the amenities. Very close to everything you want to see and do in Newport.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tear It Down and Start Over"
Dirty carpet, noisy elevator, broken screens and dingy lighting characterize this well located dump. The staff was friendly but so what...it's a dump!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Girls Getaway....!:)"
This was a wonderful Hotel and I would definitely stay again...It was big, roomy, comfortable beds, close to everything (walking), awesome view off the balcony and had a full kitchen!!!! What more could you ask for!!!! If I had to complain at all about anything it would have to be the pillows on the bed...they are small...so maybe two per person or […] bigger pillows would fix the problem!!!! Had a great time..... This was a weekend with my daughters and sisters...it was wonderful...:)! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Wyndham Onshore Suites - Great location"
My family and I enjoyed the accommodations and location of the hotel but because one of my relatives is wheelchair bound it made finding a place for breakfast difficult. If Wyndham Onshore offered breakfast as part of the package I would seriously consider staying there again during future trips to Newport.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Upon arrival at the condominium, which had very little natural light making it appear dreary, we did our usual inspection of any place we stay when away from home. This revealed hairs on the bathroom floors, a dresser in the master bedroom where the top was pulled off of the base, an inch thick layer of black dust on the louvers of the door closeting the air conditioner unit, crumbs on the carpet, towels that were dirty (and even “fresh” ones brought up to us had grey-black and brown stains on them.). The tub was filthy on the bottom, black –unsure if it was mold or dirt, but we would not step into the showers barefoot the entire stay. The finish on the kitchen cabinets was peeling off of the backboards (Cheap!cheap!cheap!), and there was a paddle sized picture of a man’s face on a stick sitting on the console table in the common living area. The keys from the previous renters were left scattered throughout the unit. And the elevator was loud enough to wake the dead – and it happened to be next to the master bedroom wall. The king mattress in the master bedroom forced the occupants to roll towards the center of the bed, and there was no mattress cover on the bed. The boards on the decks felt and sounded as though they were about to give way due to rot/age. We were also told that there would be a water front view, when in reality the view was of a brick wall…unless you went out onto the rotting deck and looked sideways out the deck. To add insult to injury, prior to going to the property I called two times to see if the property had been updated recently as I had trepidations about the accommodations based on reviews on TripAdvisor - and was told by your staff that the entire property had all been updated as of October/Novermber of 2013. Clearly this was not the case as the furnishings were outdated, old and of poor quality. In all fairness once we made our complaints maintenance and housekeeping were sent up quickly but I had to instruct the staff how to clean the dusty door. The products they were using were subpar and really could not do the job properly. I was sufficiently disgusted enough to waste my vacation time first purchasing and then using good, name brand cleaning supplies throughout the unit. I also had to buy soap and shampoo because the products your corporation supplied were terrible. The Wi-Fi service was slower than dial-up (less than 38 bytes/second) and the satellite TV offered lousy, shaky reception on certain channels. Ruined our trip that we pre-paid and was stuck with. We have traveled to Newport many times and always had great accomadations. This was a disaster. We rate it a triple zero!
"Great views, great location, great for family"

This hotel is centrally located within walking distance of restaurants, shops, marinas and more. It has a fully stocked kitchen, well-appointed and clean rooms with comfortable beds, flat screen tv's, two patios (one facing the street, the other facing the marina - perfect for enjoying the beautiful sunset) friendly staff and free parking (which is important in Newport!). It's minutes away from the beach, the mansions, the tennis hall of fame and more. Great for couples with or without families.

Last year we vacationed in Maine, but the water was too cold to enjoy anything past the ankles. This year we went to Newport and got INTO the water every day, trying a different beach in the morning and a variety of activities in the afternoon. For this property, the location, balconies, indoor/outdoor pool, play area and BBQ's are all key. While I originally did not like the layout (no halls to your unit, and the elevator opens with just two units on either side) it works for a more quiet experience. The unit itself had two bedrooms far away from each other and each with a TV, fully equipped kitchen, LR/DR, and TWO balconies (one with sunrise and the other with sunset.) It was clean and well kept, though not as nice as a typical Wyndham. Most importantly, our unit came with two parking spots, so after the beach we walked EVERYWHERE. Overall I think this is a good property, though having worked in the travel industry a long time, I think it lacks in terms of carrying the Wyndham name. Grass was dried out (you just need water), signage on the stairs that it was just painted was left a week (no one can just take off the tape/sign?), maintenance calls took more than one to solve a simple problem (really, no AC in summer?) That said, I would go back again.
"Comfortable unit in a great location"

The 2 bedroom unit was comfortable and clean with a nice view of the marina and Pell Bridge from the deck. The best part was the location – you are centrally located and can walk to many shops and restaurants. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of hot water for showers. The full kitchen was small (not much counter space) but well-stocked with pots, pans, dishes and glasses. Many restaurants and attractions are in walking distance so there is no need to use the car. The staff was friendly and helpful and responded quickly when there was an issue with a leaky ice maker.

Located right on Thames Street, perfect location for exploring Newport. Stores and great restaurants are within walking distance. We stay in a three bedroom unit with views of the Newport Bridge and marinas. The unit has recently been updated with some new furnishing and window coverings. The bathrooms could still use a refresh. Kitchen is sufficiently stocked for cooking. Staff is friendly and efficient. The location makes this a great place to stay.
Stayed for 4 nights- 2 BR. Walking distance to many attractions. A good walk to Bellevue ave with mansions and cliff walk ( although most of cliff walk was closed for repairs). Living area had 2 balconies- one on either side. Living area was sparsely decorated but very clean and comfortable. Parking spot was covered, which was helpful on rainy days. Had a problem with leaking water heater, but replaced it immediately. Did not use indoor pool, since you had to walk outdoors to access and weather was cold.

We stayed here for a weekend getaway and was pleasantly surprised. The lobby/check-in area is brand new. We stayed in a 2-bedroom suite and it was nicely appointed. The location is perfect - right in the heart of it all. I would definitely come back.
"Romantic New Years Eve"

This Wyndham does need to be renovated but it is still a nice resort to stay at. Maintenance personnel were prompt to fix any item not up to standard. Our refrigerators compressor was louder than acceptable, so they tried to fix it and then replaced it, all done fast and efficiently. It was a very cold weekend and some of the windows did have a draft but this is only due to the guest having the ability to open or close the windows, which means that if you stay at any other season you can enjoy fresh outside air during your stay. The heating system had no problem maintaining room temperature. We kept our room cool and spent romantic evenings by the fire place in our room and enjoyed the night view of harbor.
"Always a pleasure!"

We have been staying here for about 5 years now, almost always in December! Most people love Newport in the summer, which is also lovely, but we love it in the winter! There are great shops and restaurants nearby. We love going ice skating and then back to the condo to light a fire, have some hot chocolate and watch a good holiday movie! Perfect way to celebrate the holiday season! The staff is amazing! Always friendly and helpful. The room is spacious and clean, as well as well stocked to start our week off right. We have a two bedroom and a pull out couch in the living room. There's also a really nice deck and an indoor pool! Can't say enough good things!!!!! Love, love, love!
"Comfort, Location and Service all Top-Notch"
01/13/14 Harvey K Athol, Massachusetts
We recently had the opportunity to getaway for a long week-end in Newport, RI as quests with another couple. There was a mix-up with the unit and to make amends, the Wyndham graciously offered us TWO suites instead of the just the single suite one we were given. This allowed each of us (two couples) to have our complete privacy while still being right next door to each other. Our 2-bedroom suite was superb in all regards and afforded us an especially nice, quiet, romantic getaway that was even nicer than we had planned. Searching their website, I found that Wyndham has numerous sites throughout the U.S. and I most certainly would stay at another without hesitation.....i.e.their facility in the Berkshire Mountains of Western MA.
