Very clean,quiet hotel excellent located.We spend nice relaxed week there and we don't like big hotels,this one was perfect for us.Not far away from promenade and a center of the town.Good place to relax.

A delightfully modern hotel with most of the rooms on the ground floor and all of them facing the beautiful gardens. When we arrived the reception staff were expecting us and greeted us as we came up the steps to the reception. Our room was very comfortable with a large and clean bathroom with all mod-cons, robes and toileteries. We could lounge on […] the patio outside, with considerable privacy, and enjoy the sunshine and the views.. Breakfast is in the well designed room about 20 yards away through the tropical gardens. This is a characteristically European meal with a wide range of fruit, muesli, cheeses, eggs (hard boiled or cooked in any style that you wish, with bacon), cold meats, hot savouries, yoghurts and a wide range of breads, rolls, home-made muffins and tarts. Fresh orange juice is served as you arrive at your table, and a wide range of teas or coffee are offered. The service is friendly and excellent. Lunch is also available, where you can sit on the terrace facing the gardens, or inside. The menu is reasonably wide, with sandwiches or cooked food. We didn't use the renowned Casa Branca restaurant, which is in the old house, but other guests told us that it was good. Apart from wa;lks through the gardens we enjoyed using the warmed swimming pool (temperature 21-24'C) and relaxing by the pool. Getting into Funchal and the old town is a 20 minute downhill walk, but walking back is easy, or there is a good bus service to very close to the hotel. Read more

The Hotel had refined decor and we had a comfortable room. Big drawback for us was that only the superior rooms have tea and coffee making facilities so in our standard room we had to order room service for a coffee in the evenings, and no tea in the mornings until breakfast. This was the second time we had been to this hotel. It has a unique setting in beautiful gardens which every room looks on to. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was cleaned to a very high standard on a daily basis, as were the library, halls and other communal areas. The pool is cleaned every day. We chose this hotel for a first holiday after a disappointing year of illness in 2011. The main attraction was the extensive gardens which we felt would be wonderful to relax in if we weren't feeling too energetic. Our expectations were more than exceeded as the gardens turned out to be a tropical paradise, beautifully maintained & exquisite. The hotel […] itself is made up of several buildings of very modern design but includes the original Casa da Quinta Branca or "White House" where rather expensive dinner is served. We ate there only once. Breakfast is served in a pavilion in the grounds where you can eat either outside under parasols or inside. Breakfast choice was wide ranging, with every possible taste catered for either from the buffet or from the cooked-to-order menu. Our bedroom was a standard room but we felt no need to upgrade as it comprised a huge bathroom, a bedroom with 2 comfy chairs, sliding glass doors to our own individual terrace complete with sunloungers and huge towels and 2 of the comfiest twin beds we have ever slept in. There is a beautiful lounge with a library where a "Welcome" cocktail reception is held by the owner on Tuesdays. There is also a spa, gym and outdoor heated swimming pool, surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens. We found the multilingual staff, without exception, to be pleasant, welcoming and helpful. Nuno on Reception was especially helpful in sorting our complicated return online check-in. We would recommend this hotel to anyone. Read more

da casa branca est un hotel tres bien, bien situé sans etre en plein centre, joli jardin, les chambres sont bien manque peut etre un peu d'isonorisation mais ca n'empeche pas de dormir. Concernant les restaurant franchement rien a redire. Je deconseille aux familles avec enfants aucun interet pour eux.
