I was in wonderful, gorgeous Hobart for a meeting and stayed at the Leisure Inn one night before moving onto the accommodations provided by the meeting organizers. I was on the 8th floor which provides outstanding views. The room was clean enough. My primary complain is that the windows allow all types of street noise in. Beds were comfortable and room size was good. Great view of Hobart harbor with a window that opened. Love fresh air. No free wi-fi in lobby, but free broadband in room. Free Wi-fi accessible around Salamanca and Elizabeth Pier. Shower was a bit too small.

We stayed at this hotel for two days in late January and then again at the end of January. On the first night I managed to short circuit the electrics when switching off the bedside lamp. It was quickly fixed by the staff. The water heating was being upgraded at the time and the shower water altenated between hot and cold. The manager did compensate […] us with a free breakfast and apologized, promising that the plumbing would be fixed by the time of our next stay. Unfortunately the plumbing upgrade did not fix the shower problem. I hope they have fixed it before you stay there. The staff were very friendly and responsive. There was free parking in a basement lot which had small parking spaces and many concrete columns. The internet access was free broadband and worked well. The breakfast was good value for money. We arrived on a day when the weather was extremely hot (45C) and there appeared to be no AC. A sign said the heat was centrally controlled so we assumed the cooling was also. I needed to work in the room at nights and the desk was OK size but because the room did not have a small additional table (no room for), the kettle and coffee, hotel info, phone, etc, were also all on the desk reducing my workspace quite considerably. With expectations of arriving at a four star hotel which was quaint with no frills, we were terribly surprised after arriving exhausted and late at night to find at this was actually a 2 1/2 star Motel by anyone's standards. Leisure Inn was very accommadating and the staff was very courteous. Although not on the waterfront, it was a short walk to everything needed. Only downside was the views weren't great and the rooms were small. But I'd rather have a big bed than walking room anyway. The comfort of the bed made up for it!

Definitely not the worst hotel I stayed at while in AUS....but probably one of the worst night's sleep. The staff was friendly and did switch me to a slightly better room for my 2nd night. However, the previously reviewed window problem is still very much a problem. I would recommend this hotel after they do a serious upgrade to the windows. I was told […] that "many of their guests live in cities, so the street noise doesn't bother them." If this applies to you, then go ahead and book. I don't think it could have been any louder if my bed was actually in the intersection of the two busy streets along each of the exterior walls. I didn't have any problem finding a place to park in their underground garage, but it was a tight squeeze in my very compact rental car (thanks for the heads up on that.) We thought the Leisure Inn was a perfect choice for our weekend in Hobart, it was modern and clean in the room with microwave, iron and a good bathroom. The location was a short walk to the markets, battery point, and the ferry area. We found all staff very helpful.

Good location. Friendly staff. Free car park but gets full in the afternoon. Free Internet but not wireless (apple airport express came in handy). Room was floor 2 and very close to pedestrian crossing outside, which sounded all night long .. That was my only gripe ... On the plus side the room had bigger windows.

Overall, a good stay over 6 nights. Great location, only 5 min walk to Salamanca or city centre, easy access to and from town. Plenty of nearby restaurants. Room was well kept and cleaned properly everyday. We went for the deluxe room and I believe was worth it - good size. Air Con did not work and was not fixed during our stay so very hot room a we could not sleep with window open due to noise. Also there was a problem with the lock on our door, which was partly fixed but still caused problems. The hotel did refund us the cost of our breakfasts on check out as some sort of compensation! Hotel is fine for business, a little small so i wouldnt recommend for a romantic weekend. But great location. Get a higher room to minimize the noise. DONT bring your car here though, carpark is dire and you wont escape without a scratch at minimum. Great $14 full brekky, really yummy.

This hotel is in a great location - easy walking distance to Salamanca Place and the CBD shopping precinct. The room was extremely tiny for two people / two beds - my 9yo son and I found it very constrained. We enjoyed our stay but the very poor shower design and curtain meant the bathroom floor flooded each time we had a shower.

overall the hotel was good, clean and comfortable and in a good location. The car park was dissapointing as there were only 30 car spots in total and several times people parked in two spots which made it even less spots to park. I notified staff and really nothing was done about it. They said they would look into it but never did. Staff were really helpful and very nice , my family stayed for 2 nights as I was getting married in Tasmania, I was there the next day to get my makeup done and they were lovely with me getting picked up there with the wedding car. My family found the rooms comfy and they were close walk to Salamanca and everything in the city.they also got a later […] checkout last minute and was not expensive and easy to do, the staff also looked after all their valuables while they checked out the sites Sunday. The rooms were comfy and clean beds were comfy too. Had everything they needed for a short stay in the bathroom and rooms were turned down with new sheets everyday. If your looking for something close to the city , Salamanca at a great rate then I would def stay here. It's not a luxury motel but for a weekend stay or buisness stay it is great. The only downside was it was 41 degrees on the friday and there was no aircon in the rooms but that rarley happens here and since everything else was great it was not so hard to deal with.
