Booked a smoking room, no ashtrays, no remote for TV, no channel listings, blanket was full of cigarette burn holes, headboard for bed had been ripped off wall and leaned against the wall, towels were stained, linens were stained, couldn't tell if they were clean or not, no condiments for the coffee, locked out of room second night had to go to office […] to get in the room, overall a mess. "Nasty dump hole."
No toilet paper, no phone, 2 flat dirty stained pillows, cigarette burns in a nonsmoking room, hair on the linens and pillows, the whole room stank something awful. The heater smelled worse when we turned it on, carpet remnants laying on the floor beside the bed. This place is horrible. It's the next morning and I can't stop scratching even though I slept fully clothed.

The good reviews posted are rather hard to believe. I should have known how bad the room would be by the appearance of the outside and the soda someone left at the check in window and the sticky counter. The room smelled musty. It was not clean (cob webs, old ashes or something in the bathroom), towels were cheap and dingy looking). We arrived late and had family matters to attend to otherwise I wouldn't have bothered staying. It was just nasty. My advice, drive to Danbury if the other hotel nearby is booked. The price was more than posted online, I was not in the mood to haggle, just paid it and checked out. We had planned to stay for 4 nights but only stayed one. The internet did work, only plus.
"Comfortable and convenient"

They must have fixed the place up since a year ago because it was nice, clean, comfortable. The staff is helpful and the wifi works great. It's a budget hotel but nicer than I expected. I would definitely stay here again next time.

I have stayed at Red Carpet and next door at Rocky River Motel. While the rooms at Rocky River are cleaner, and the place is run better, Red Carpet is more relaxed in its atmosphere, and they have improved the place. On those who are complaining, I would suggest that you complain to the relevant agencies in New Milford, or state, so that they can work to make the place better.
"Pet friendly, no frills"

We stayed here because we had tickets to an evening concert in the Berkshires and didn't want to have to leave our dog at home in a kennel. The motel was adequate and there was no problem with our dog (who happily stayed in our car during the concert -- we would not leave a dog alone in a motel room and I hope other people would not do so either). However, this motel has some problems with lack of maintenance. The first room they gave us was a jacuzzi suite -- a major upgrade from what we had reserved and paid for. When we opened the door we were almost bowled over by the overwhelming smell of mold, and the jacuzzi (which they'd told us not to use) had a huge leak dripping from the ceiling above. We immediately asked for another room and were given a standard nonsmoking king (which is what we'd reserved and paid for). It was fine. The air conditioning worked well, and it had a good quality hair dryer, iron and ironing board, refrigerator and microwave. The linens and mattress were old and the carpet worn, but for the price it was fine. Oh -- when we tried to use the shower we couldn't get anything but hot water -- had to turn it off quickly before it got scalding hot -- and the sink drain plug was stuck. But other than that it was fine. As you'd expect in a budget-priced motel, most of the clientele seemed to be truckers and people who checked in for one night en route to somewhere else. I am not sure we would choose to stay here again.
"Do not stay here!"
Was so bad that I don't even want to write anything, everything smelled, was so dirty. Bad customer service, I had to leave, then I got a room next door at the rockyriver inn and slept peacefully there.
"Avoid this hotel at all cost!"

We chose this hotel because it was close to our destination. This was the dirtiest hotel we have ever stayed in. The lobby had cigarette butts on the floor when we checked in on Friday and they were still there on Sunday when we checked out. Trying to take a shower was a joke, the water pressure varied from poor to none at all. The blankets were stained and the sheets were not in good condion. We complained and some in our group were moved to other rooms but they were still unacceptable. The management was uncaring. Please avoid this hotel at all cost.
"This was a nice place to spend a night"

We were a bit apprehensive after reading previous reviews, but we were very pleasantly surprised. Recent renovations have made this a fine motel at a reasonable price. The room was very clean, with tasteful decor. The French doors leading to a limited outdoor area at the back were a real bonus. The reception was cordial and the staff were always ready to offer advice about restaurants and attractions in the area.
"what do you get for $53.00?"

For $53 dollars at the Red Carpet Inn & Suites in New Milford CT you get: a smelly-small room where one of the two beds touches the wall, mice and cockroaches, blood stains on the walls, stained pillow covers, coffee pot but no coffee, rude and drunk front desk owner, harashing phone calls at 3:45AM, harashing trailer trash people who live their and spit on the walkway walls, no parking, no ashpalt, somewhat hot water with no pressure, closed front desk/office after 10pm, regular hourly visit by the police, route 7 traffic 20feet from the room, and last but not least offers from two hookers to use the big red heart shape jacuzzi the leasey motel has for $25.00, which the motel proudly post in the office. I felt it was a bargain for $53.00 a night dollars, my father spent $125.00 for a so called one bedrooms suite, which was actually an old, run down apartment. There were alot of other choices of hotels in the area, which were about $10 more dollars, but we wanted to save money and thought all the places . Oh well I guess the old saying stays true...you get what you pay for. This is one mistake we will not be repeating.

The Red Carpet in New Milford absolutely TERRIBLE. Red Carpet is a low budget franchise I got that. BUT you cant imagine how dirty this place was. As soon as you drive in to this place you get a scary feeling. there is no parking lot and when we went to check in, we had to ring a bell and we were checked in my a DRUNK front desk clerk in his underwear. Once we go to the room, YOU CAN NOT IMAGINE THE SMELL. IT was soo horrible, my wife almost punked and had to step out side. We went and asked for a refund immidetely, but were refused, the clerk screamed and said you signed the check in form waving you right to a refund. He said the best he can do is give us a different room. The send room we went it, was just as bad but we had cockroaches and mice as our roomates. FINALLY we decided to just leave and go somewhere else. We went to a place right next to them and what a difference. We did not book at the 2nd place because it was not a franchies, what a mistake, it was a good lesson. The second place was great, beyond what we see in hotels. IF YOU LIKE COCKROACHES AND MICE AS YOU ROOMATES AND DRUNK CLERKS AND FOULS SMEELS AND GETTING RIPPED OFF THIS IS YOUR PLACE OTHERWISE STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE.
