Wyndham Patriots' Place - Williamsburg

Pretty much a cookie-cutter condo complex, but comfortable for families and a very short drive from Colonial Williamsburg. We didn't use any of the amenities, which included a pool, mini-golf, movie theater, etc. (all on an adjacent property a mile or so away). check-in was simple and straightforward. the Studio unit was small but comfortable. The bathroom was average. The "kitchenette" was cramped and fairly non-useful, but I wasn't planning to cook here. I wss very pleased with our recent stay at the Wyndham Patriot. please note that check out is at 10 am and not 11. i would also suggest calling to see if you can check in earlier simce i did notice there were people checking in as we were checking out. we stayed in a one bedroom suite. it had a queen bed and a sofa sleeper. my husband slept on the sofa […] since it was more comfortable than pulling out the bed. my three children ages 1,4 &6 slept on the bed. yes it was a tight squeeze and i wish thwy had a king sized bed but since we were aware of what they had i cant complain about that. the kitchen was very useful. thwy haf severything from pots and pans, utensils, even diah washing soap and and a sponge. our unit did not have a washer dryer but there was a laundry room available a few steps from our room. its a timeshare unit so housekeeping did not come to clean up but that was fine with us. the hotel was 15 minutes from busch gardens and water country. the pool was great and provided towels. we would definitely come back! This was a nice place to stay. Very quiet and elegant. When the people above me where making a lot of noise, I called the front desk and they took care of the issue. This is a great place to stay and is very affordable. I plan to stay there again if they have rooms available.

I was suprised how spacious this room was. Our tv blew out, called maintenace, they came in 5 mins. Needed extra pillow, called housekeeping, they also came in 5 mins. Got great service.

Our stay was a very pleasant one--first of all we were "Upgraded" from a one room studio to a one bedroom studio. Everything was clean and well stocked (iron, utensils, towels, soaps, hairdryer). The only change from my reservation confirmation was in the "checkout time" being 10:00 AM and NOT 11:00 AM as I had noticed on the website (and you did have […] to inital the fact) and/ or be charged for being late with your checkout. You were encouraged to listen to a 60 minute presentation about the resort -but we declined. The only recommendation I would have for the resort would be to upgrade the Queen beds to King and somehow try to soundproof between the rooms more--The last night there we could hear just about everything said, water running, doors closing and maybe an indoor pool/sauna area. This is a time share condo complex. No maid service. OK for short stays as long as you can say no to the sales desk. Older units so not so sound proof. Did not have to clean unit upon exit. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

I can understand why they have a no refund policy because if a person would see what they were getting for their money.They would just go to a cheaper hotel and have better service and room would be just as good. There customer was not good at all, astry to talk to them without any respond to our compaints.

We enjoyed this hotel, actually it was a time share property, It was a bit outdated but lovely! The bed was real comfortable and the room was real clean. Very quiet too! We stayed in a studio which is great for couples! Real close to some great breakfast places, especially the "Gazebo". Don't hesitate, it is nice and quiet. We will go back again!

We had to change our accomodations about three times and the front desk employees were very helpful. We actually had reservations for a week at another resort, because of Hurricane irene that resort did not have power when we arrived and they really expected us to stay there in the dark and no a/c. I already had reservations at Wyndham for two days […] so i called an extended my stay for an additional 5 days and so glad idid. The resort is located near everything you could need for a vacation. We plan to stay there again next year and maybe again this year. it was very much "like home". Read more

Pros The room was clean and comfortable. The location was very good. Cons The walls are paper thin. Do Not under any circumstances accept free tickets for a sales pitch. The sales man for the time shares was nasty and mean when we would not buy their time share.

Getting hot water in this place was a real issue. Very often we would let the water run while we ate our breakfast so that we could wash, shower, do dishes etc. Front desk staff have forgotten they are in the hospitality industry!!! They make it very obvious they either do not like their jobs, dislike customers or some other reason for their abruptness--perhaps […] because I refused to fill out the info used for solicitation of timeshare. These people acted like they were doing us a favor letting us stay there. Not even one person was "hospitable" or made you feel like you were their guests. We definately are not used to that for all the travelling we have done. If you can get past the attitudes at the front desk the condo is not special, but OK, clean, and a good rate. Read more
