I am not all that familiar with Toronto. I get up there a few times a year for business, and that is about it... That being said, I really enjoyed this property...The room is HUGE! It has its own washer and dryer and a full kitchen, but does not feel like some sort of extended stay hotel. The lounge was very nice, and there is a nice little dinner next door that serves food 24/7 Like most food north of the border, I was not all that impressed with the room service menu, but other than that, I really enjoyed my stay.

In many ways this is a wonderful hotel: good location, quiet atmosphere. But there are still so many problems. Last time I stayed there were flooded stairwells, which had to be used since the elevtors were turned off. This time, while the room was fine, the TV was broken, there was neither soap nor shampoo etc for two days, no bathmats, some electrical plugs did't work, one elevator was defective for use with the required entrance cards. These are minor annoyances but when they pile up, it is a sign of a hotel on the slippery slope.

The first night we were there we expereinced bugs in our bed when we pulled back the sheets. we were on the blue floor and there were little blue lights on the celling and it was way to dark in the hallway. i could barely see which way to go. the elevetors needed your room key to work and as you went up to your floor the lights would change color and make the entire elevator look red, blue, green, and ect. on the second day we came back to room in the middle of the afternoon and found that the elevators were broken because a fire alarm was set off. they told us we could take the stairs (to the 13th floor) but we had to be escorted for security reasons but they could not find a key so several people waited almost an hour to get back to their rooms. this like that happen which is understandable but the thing that was so bothersome was that people were coming in the lobby trying to use the elevator and there was no one there to stop them and tell them the situation, they had to go and ask before they were told. on the last morning we went to take showers and realized the maid had taken the drain out of the tub and left it in the middle of the shower. since i did not have time to wash my hair i wasn't planning on taking a shower so i went to grab the shower cap only to find out it had been used!!

Location was perfect and the size of the room bigger than I had expected. The furniture might have been a little worn, but overall a good stay. The lights in one of the elevators was a bit weird though, going through all the colours of the rainbow - not a great look when you suddenly turn green or yellow.

Although the room was nice and I really liked the convenience of having a little kitchenette, there were large gaps in service. My main problem was that on the 2nd night of my 3 night stay I returned to my room at 6pm after a long day at a conference and found a note on the desk stating that the power would need to be turned off in the hotel from 11pm that night until 5am the next morning because a generator needed to be replaced. It said I was to call down to the desk if I wanted a flashlight (!!!!). This meant absolutely no power in the hotel for those hours, including lights, air conditioning, tv, etc. I was not told about this issue in advance of arriving nor was I told when I checked in (although management told me they knew it needed to occur for about two weeks prior to my arrival). As a business traveller, I had planned to be up late that night working on a presentation so and to learn about the issue via a note on my desk on the same day it was to occur was not acceptable. They did send me to their sister hotel, the Cosmopolitan, and they gave me free internet and breakfast while there, so they worked hard to solve the situation, but in my opinion, this kind of problem should have been handled better from the beginning.

I had reserved and paid for 2 nights at Pantages. I called on the 1st night said I was not coming until the 2nd night but wanted to make sure my room was reserved and that I would have it for the 2nd night. Since I had already paid for the room, was assured my room would be there. The next day, when I went to the hotel, was informed my room was cancelled because I did not check in the 1st day, even though I had paid for it. They had my reservation, they knew I paid for it yet had given it away. I had to wait an hour arguing with the front desk that I had paid for a room and should have it. After an hour, was finally given a room yet they did not give any reimbursement, like parking. It wasn't until the next day at checkout when the manager asked me about my stay did I get my parking complementary. Was just disappointed about the initial service.

This hotel was ok. My boyfriend and I stayed there over the July 4th 2009 holiday. The parking was valet only and was $32 a night. I thought this was a bit pricey, but if we had parked in the lot down the street, we most likely would have paid the same price. The convenience of being able to come and go with our car was good. They claim to have a Meditation channel; this tv channel did not exist for us. They also did not put "stones" on our pillows. Front desk could have been more cheerful and provided info about the hotel. We were not informed about any of their services, nor how to work the elevators (had to use your room key - I've never experienced that before). Overall, it is a nice hotel. The rooms are clean, the location is good and having the kitchenette in the room was pretty awesome. I would recommend this hotel for others, just be aware that the front desk people aren't the most outgoing and that parking is expensive.

This was a very good hotel, especially for the price. Clean, comfortable and modern, had the features of a pricier hotel. It is right in downtown Toronto, so it is easy to get around and see everything. My only criticism would be that the concierge was not particularly helpful in terms of suggesting things to do. They kept steering us towards the most touristy neighborhoods, restaurants and attractions, even when we asked for a more local experience. We had to do our own research to find what we were looking for. That said, if you like venturing off the beaten path, be sure to check out the 4-5 blocks that comprise Little Italy...there were great restaurants to choose from, cool boutiques and it definitely is off the more traveled tourist streets.
