It was hard to tell if the room was clean because the carpet is black and orange (dark) and the tile in the bathroom was almost black... it could have been filthy and I would have been unable to tell. The dingy looking, tacky blue/teal walls with splatter on them here and there did not help me assume the best. If you are over 6 ft. tall, you will not […] fit in the shower. This was unfortunate for both my husband and I as I am 5' 11" and he is 6' 5". I was told that the showers in every room were the same. The room was quiet, no street noise. AC seems to be a rarity in Europe so that was nice. Bed was not very comfortable. The location was very convenient to everything - short walk to the train station and sites. Though there were a number of strip clubs very near, the neighborhood was fine, despite some of the other reviewers who mentioned it was a shady location. Several good restaurants very near. Breakfast was sufficient with nice variety, nothing hot, however, except boiled eggs. The Belle Blue is, as others say, located in the "red light district" of Munich. While this might sound unappealing, it isn't at all. The activity isn't offensive and we arrived at 11:00pm on a Friday night. There is plenty of bustling about and a very diverse group of people in the area. There is plenty of dining on the same street as the hotel as well as a fantastic restaurant Picasa on the corner down the street. Parking is 10 euros per night if you have a car (not bad for the area) and you need to get an environmental sicker for your car from the German TUV if you're visiting from outside of Germany. There were plenty of outlets for charging phones, cameras, kindles, etc., the beds were very comfortable & the lighting & bathrooms were very good. The neighborhood near the train station is a bit "red light" so maybe not comfortable for a woman alone, but fine for a mixed group or 2 women. We were very happy with this hotel.

Once you have fought your way out of the main railway station, you again have to fight your way through the red light district that surrounds it and where the hotel is situated. Belle Blue is not in the smartest part of Munich but the area is safe, well provided with food shops and cafes. The hotel is comfortable, well run by friendly staff and within 12 minutes walk to Marienplatz.. Free coffee and tea on tap all day is a nice touch as was free Gluwein and lebkuchen during my December stay.

L'Hotel Belle Blue trovandosi vicino alla stazione centrale (Hauptbahnhof) e comodo sia per chi arriva in treno che in aereo (infatti le S-bahn S1 e S8 dal Flughafen fermano anche qui). L'hotel e' inserito in un condominio di cui occupa un'ala diviso in 3 piani; quindi non ha un ingresso tipico da hotel, ma si entra nell'atrio del condominio con la […] tessera. Non e' presidiato dopo mezzanotte. La zona non e' delle migliori, ma trattandosi di Monaco direi non rappresenta un problema. Dall'hotel si raggiunge comodamente a piedi la Kaufinger Strasse (la zona commerciale) e Marienplatz. Le stanze sono moderne ben rifinite; nel mio caso il riscaldamento non funzionava benissimo ed era un po' freddina. Il personale e' cordialissimo e vengono offerte dall'hotel caffe' e the fuori dell'orario della colazione. Globalement, nous avons été satisfaits. L'hôtel est idéalement situé, proche de la gare centrale et donc des transports publics.
