Generally, it was pretty good. The only deficit was that the toilet ran all night. A defective valve not closing the upper tank plug. Both our room (311) and our daughter's room (314) had the same problem. Only solution was to close the bathroom door to minimize the noise. Plumber naver came.

Our room was extremly humid and the staff was very rude. In order to get towels we had to turn in our other towels-- we had a four towel a day allowence.

There were a few unexpected disappointments. Kitchenette without microwave. No coffee maker. Pillows were very lumpy. No free ice; could purchase at front desk. Noise from people in hallway and could hear through the walls. On the plus side: there was a nice sofa to relax on, bed was comfortable, hotel was clean, staff was o.k.

The service wasnt great but we stayed in the two room suite and with the curtains open we had a panoramic view of the ocean. Had to be one of the best views ive ever seen and im from around the area. if you opened both balcony doors you could feel the beach breeze from the sofa!

It was a good stay and a great price. Of course no breakfast which is better if you just pay the little extra for breakfast but the location was ideal. The water unfortunately was very cold so the water play was very limited. I do recommend this hotel and I will stay there if the price is right.

hotel overall outdated, but size of room for the price is an unbeatable value if you are traveling with 3+ people. Walking distance to all the fun bars and sites on the island, will definitely book again!

The hotel appearance, furniture and appliances are old but it is one of the cleanest rooms in which I have stay. The ac is a bit noisy but so far every hotel in this area in which I have stayed use the same type of ac. The food in the bar beside the hotel was above and beyond our expectations. For a beach hotel the pool is little.

This hotel treated us terribly. First thing that went wrong was I called 2 days prior to check in to ask if we could check in early. The lady on the phone said yes, you may check in at 1, 2 at the latest. We arrivied at 1:30 and our room was not ready. They told us 30 minutes. At 2, it was not ready they tell us it will be ready at 3. We were very upset […] about this considering we drove 16 hours to get there. Then at 3 when we get to our room, the maids are at the opposite end of the floor, so our room was ready far before 3 when they let us in. The second thing that went wrong was, after being in the room for an hour they call us telling us we still owe them $210 because we have a 5th person. Upon checking in and getting wristbands for all of us, including the 5th person they did not tell us anything about that extra charge for a 5th person. They then tell us on the phone if we do not pay for the 5th person, we will call the police and have you all kicked out, and will not receive any money back. That was our second problem. Then as the week end on, anytime we asked a quick questions of where a good bar or lunch spot was they acted like it was a huge deal and it was our fault and we should know these things. Terrible service. I will never ever even think about staying here again. PEOPLE DO NOT WAIST YOUR MONEY!!!! Read more

We booked this stay at the last minute and knew this was one of the older places to stay and expected a lot worse. We were pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff, great location, and overall cleanliness of the room and hotel. Horrible expiriance... Rude staff. We're charged $15. Cash fee per persone for a hotel bracelet to get in the door of the hotel... They even charged for ice! The hotel is old and stinks and all can be over looked if they would focus on customer service. My family and I were treated as intruters rather than paying guest that paid $180.00 a night. We […] live about 75 miles from that place. Therefore, we are locals that visit South padre island at least 3 times a month. The pictures on the internet led us to believe it was a relatively nice hotel. Unfortunately it was anything but. The bathroom and kitchen was the worst. Fortunately we only stayed for 2 days but it is right on the beach and the location is great. The place needs some serious updating before I would consider staying there again.

This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel and I must say I love it! It's economical, it's right on the beach and they have great service. We asked if we could check out at 12 rather than 11 and the receptionist didn't even hesitate to say "Sure, No problem." I really recommend this hotel:)

When we arrived here, we were quite unimpressed. The hallways were musty smelling and the room itself showed a lot of wear and tear. The location is really all this place has going for it. The only friendly staff people we dealt with were the housekeeping crews.

I like the fact that the hotel has a kitchenette for an inexpensive price unlike a lot of many hotels. We stayed in room 411. The big stove top was not working, but other than that, it was great! :-)

Ok, Folks.. Yes, the hotel is older and not totally updated, but for the price and comfort it is great! You have a kitchenette, every room has a balcony with a view of the ocean, and easy beach access. The staff accomodated us on every request and were very nice. We got the 2 bedroom suite. Balcony view was wonderful. Staff was courteous and helpful. We arrived at 10 am and were checked in without an issue. The only thin missing was breakfast but we will stay here again.

The hotel is a great value for your money! It was clean, right on the beach, and had a full size refrigerator. My room, 803, had a north view of the beach and I could also see the bay. There is a bar next door and tons of great places within walking distance, like Yummies and Isla Grande. I will definately stay there again!
