"Onvriendelijke ontvangst"

"Bates motel!"
08/04/15 deb1206_12 Los Angeles, California
We should have known we were in for an unpleasant surprise when we noticed the disturbing patio area in the middle of the parking lot. It amounted to a roped off area filled with discarded office chairs and a broken table. The room was clean but smelly, definitely superior to the bathroom. The "custom" vanity was far too short for the average person. The teeny shower was enclosed by a clear plastic curtain, one that surely had originally served as a dry cleaner' bag. Without a doubt, we got what we paid for!

"Decent low end motel - nothing fancy here"
07/20/15 Ed H Reno, Nevada
First, the good: this is located in Walnut Creek, an upscale city with fine dining, arts, etc so you would expect to pay more. This MOTEL is blocks away from the downtown area. It was clean, in a decent area, free wi-fi, fridge / MW and DVD player. Room and bathroom were decent size. The place is quiet except for freeway noise but unless you're a light sleeper, this shouldn't bother you. Now the bad: this is an old motel, probably built in the 40's or 50's. It shows its age. Phone and Cable wires are exposed. Furniture is old and scratched up. Bed was a bit creaky.. My shower door had no handle and scrapped the bottom so was hard to close from the inside, causing water to get all over the bathroom floor. On a previous stay, I had a room with a very large bathroom. This one, not as much but it had a "second bedroom" that was unexpected. It looked like a large walk in closet converted so it was very small but could come in handy if you had a guest (rm 114). Pool is very small and is located right in the parking lot. I've never seen anybody use it. All in all, I would stay again if the price were right.

"The greatest low cost value in Walnut Creek."
07/03/15 Dan C Kalamazoo, Michigan
Clean rooms, a friendly & helpful staff, and the best kept secret place in all of Walnut Creek. "Deluxe" rooms have a fridge and microwave. Parking challenged. No pool. Keep the windows closed, as the freeway noise is high above the property, makes for a constant noise level. The air conditioners noise is a little bothersome, when you close the windows. Overall this is a great place for a rest-overnight or extended stay to use as your base. The location is walking distance to all of the city is it's greatest asset.

"Run down, but cheap and clean in a good location"
05/08/15 Wayne W Pasadena, California
Good location and clean, but there is no excuse for the problems with this hotel. Patched but unpainted walls, numerous holes in top of the dresser where apparently a TV was mounted. Holes in the walls where pictures were removed. No irons in the rooms. Poorly appointed, but cheap and clean.

"Clean and comfortable, very accommodating staff."
04/27/15 katherinejones49 Grants Pass, Oregon
I get headaches from fragrances and cleaning products.....they do not use the typical heavy "cover-all" cleaners here, use a natural orange cleaner. I was able to stay in one of their rooms that did not have a heavy scent at all. It was clean and we had a good stay for two nights. The breakfast was well furnished with muffins, fresh fruit, boiled eggs and coffee each morning for my husband who can eat anything.

"Our favorite hotel in Walnut Creek"
04/27/15 William B Vancouver, Washington
We always take at least one hike on the Iron Horse Trail to visit our children/grandchildren. DMI is an excellent lodging value for Walnut Creek and has easy access to the freeway and downtown. Clean, comfortable bed, and outside corridors hurrah!!

"A reasonably priced gem in a very expensive area."
03/27/15 carola f Hurricane, Utah
I have stayed here many times and it has always been a pleasant experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a bit dated but very clean and comfortable. The location is excellent and easy to find. The hard boiled eggs are a nice breakfast surprise and the juice and coffee are good.

"Okay for a Night or Two"
12/22/14 Katie M Yuba City, California
The staff was very friendly. They gave me a list of places to eat and even though I didn't get one, they have DVD's for rent. The room was clean and surprisingly quiet for being by the freeway. There was a flat screen TV, microwave and fridge but no coffee pot or ironing board and iron, you have to borrow them from the office. The shower door was broken off from the shower so they put a showers curtain up inside the shower. The bed was a little hard but still okay. The continental breakfast was average. We were there on a Thursday morning and evidentially the garbage trucks come very early in the morning and are pretty noisy. Other than that it was pretty quiet. It is within walking distance to a lot of different shopping and restaurants.

"A very welcoming place"
11/15/14 Rockend86 Mississauga, Canada
The front desk employees are excellent, very helpful and enjoyed what they were doing. One of them booked my flight check in and printed copies for me. Very helpful on places to shop, eat and giving directions. The rooms were comfortable and although the Inn is fairly close to the interstate- it was relatively quiet. The room was clean, comfortable bed and pillows. Parking is free and the Inn is easy to locate- just off 24. The offer a free continental breakfast which was good -hard boiled eggs, cereal, break, etc and decent coffee (wish they had real cream instead of the powder stuff). A very pleasant short stay.
