"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.

We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.
""Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.
"Nice hotel in the theatre district"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel in the theatre district. Friendly and helpful staff. Basic room accomodations but very clean. Would recommend.

This hotel is just right for the money. It's clean, the staff are helpful, and it's conveniently located close to Manhattan. The subway station is just a couple of blocks away.

"Great Location, Fantastic Value!"
Very convenient Location a couple blocks from the subways that wisks you right into Manhattan. Nice clean room, tasty "more than" continental breakfast, and friendly & helpful staff. Limited to 8 Parking Spots in front of Hotel so get there early. Have stayed here before AND WILL Definitely come back again!
"Days Inn Brooklyn - cheap and easygoing"
I stayed with my boyfriend for Christmas and new years. The location is very convenient with a subway station 3 minutes away. The room was small, but it had everything we needed and always kept clean. The people there were friendly and didn't give us any problems at all. But I'd have to say that the walls were very thin and you can hear everything that […] goes on in the corridors and the rooms next to you. The breakfast room is also very small and gets really crowded, but it was no problem for us because we usually grabbed some and took it back to our rooms to eat. There are also little places around the hotel where you can find good cheap food. We especially liked the bagel store on the way to the station. The owner is super friendly and their paninis are bomb! If your're not too picky and looking for somewhere cheap to stay, this is the place for you. Read more

typical motel 6. not fancy does the job. located infront of a fire station and behind an elementary 3 blocks from the local subway with convenient stores and cafe on the same block open 24/7. the best part is they leave the roof unlocked for smoking..all the rooms are non. from the roof top a beautiful view of the statue of liberty. the stair well echoes […] so be quiet. i would return here and send my friends here. great for tourism. room was very small two suitcases and two carry ons used the majority of the space. fridge w freezer and coffee pot included in our room were never used but continental breakfast was good Read more
"expensive compared with the price"
its ok hotel for a sleep,no more -its considered an expensive for this kind of service i had -recepctionists are not friendly and helpful -the shower was brokedown -no bellmen or anybody to help lefting the heavy luggage -poor breakfast and very typical every day
"Very Pleasant Stay..."
The one thing I loved the most in reviewing this hotel initially was nobody complained about the neighborhood, once we arrived I could see why. On 2 occasions during our 4 night stay, we arrived back to the hotel well after midnight and never felt unsafe, even with it being an obvious urban neighborhood. The hotel staff were very nice and the maids […] were sweethearts as well. Granted just like any hotel in NYC, the rooms are small though this one was very comfy and clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast was good for continental and certainly kept us afloat until we enjoyed a mid lunch in the city. The train station is an easy 3 block walk and the subway system with some asking around is easy to learn. It's very likely we'll be staying here again if it's just us as a couple. With kids, I definitely recommend something larger however this must be a know-how since there were no kids visible during our stay. Read more

"Took a risk, wish I wouldn't have"
I want to start off by saying this hotel wasn't filthy or gross or infested or anything like that. It was perfectly fine - but there were 2 major problems. 1. It smelled SO BAD like smoke on our floor and in our room that we left each morning smelling like we'd each smoked a pack. We got home and had to wash everything from our jackets to our underpants. […] The smoke smell in a non smoking hotel room is insane and needs to be corrected. 2. For the price I could have paid to stay on the upper west side at a hotel of a less commercial name - I wish I would have. If you're planning to stay in Brooklyn to save some $$ while visiting Manhatten - be aware that you will be spending about a 30-40 minute one way trip to the Canal street area on the D train - and that's on the express to a lower Manhattan area. Staying off the island for the cheapness wasn't worth the 10 or 20 dollars more we would have spent to stay somewhere inside the city. Rooms are tiny but relatively clean (except for the bad smoke smell) and the bathroom is updated. Neighborhood is a little sketchy but I felt pretty safe - but then again I was with my husband and am not easily scared - but for a group of women - this would not be ideal. Spend the extra few bucks - stay where you are going to be actually visiting. Read more
"Convenient Location Meets Value Pricing"
Excellent Value for the Money and Good Location in Brooklyn (though if staying during the weekend since Subway repairs have closed or made difficult several lines). Room was a little small but that is to be expected in NYC area. BUT very clean and functional !! Also great parking spaces out front for customers (But get there early to ensure being accomodated. […] Very nice large continental breakfast that is head & shoulders above other hotels I have stayed in recently. Enjoyed the stay so much, I have already booked some more nites before Christmas weekend !! Read more
The hotel is clean, but some of the fixtures are worn. For example, sometimes I had trouble opening my locked room door because is was no longer fit snugly into the bolt hole. Surrounding neighborhood was working class NY - not fancy but I did not feel unsafe. 3 short blocks to a subway station brought you to Times Square in 45 minutes, Coney Island […] in 20 minutes, and JFK in 90 minutes. "Days Inn Brooklyn"
I wouldn't recommend this hotel to others, not because it's terrible, but because everything is SO small. We stayed here for a weekend for a wedding in a queen sized bed room and you literally cannot move around. the bed takes up the ENTIRE room. The walls are very thin and you can hear everything that goes on on the floor that you are on. The bed felt […] like it was a cardboard box- very firm to the point of being uncomfortable. The shower is hard to use, only because there are no instructions. Also, the complementary breakfast is ALWAYS packed and the room is just as small as one of the bedrooms. There is VERY LITTLE ROOM anywhere in this hotel. This area in Brooklyn is in Little Mexico, so if you are not a fan of Mexican cuisine or people not speaking English I would not recommend it. The Best Western is also in the same area, just a few blocks down. The R train is close, but not as close as the description says it is. If you are coming here from either airport or port authority, i would strongly suggest taking a cab because by subway it took us almost 2 hours. For the price that we got it was reasonable, but I absolutely would have paid a little more money for something bigger, better, and more diverse when it comes to food. Read more
"Short walk to subway, clean room"
For the price it would be hard to beat. It's a budget stay and the room was very clean, though a bit cramped, but it's NYC and that how rooms are there. It's a short walk to the subway and street parking is available along with a small number of hotel parking spaces (if you're not from a large city, be sure to read the street parking signs). It's a […] relatively short walk to the subway, but a fairly long ride into Manhattan. But if you want great convenience, clean modern rooms and breakfast, you're going to pay a lot more to be close to Manhattan - I didn't mind the ride given the price and the fact that the place was in good shape. The neighborhood is not the best, but it's not scary. Read more
"Decent, you get more than what you pay for."
Not a bad place if you're looking for a place in NYC for cheap. Staff was VERY nice, everyone we met was eager to help us out. We also lucked out and were able to check in early. After check out, they held on to our luggage for a few hours before our flight out too. But I guess YMMV They have a couple unlocked doors for roof access, giving a nice view […] of the NYC skyline, Brooklyn bridge, and Statue of Liberty; which was awesome at sunrise. Very close to the subway station, which has the D, N, and R trains. I felt safe at night, the latest we came back was around 1:30, there were still quite a few people on the street. A few diners and restaurants close. Would definitely recommend if you're on a budget and can't stay in Manhattan. Read more

it was a nice room but the shower didnt work
"It was really good"
Really close to subway good connection N line goes almost to the airport LGA and it goes to Manhattan for 30 min. The room was clean. My room had a bad view and was against the Fire department but it was still good for the money you pay :)

"Never again"
Very small room, hallway carpet smelled like urine, no phone in the room, very limited parking, and unkept building. I will not stay here again.
The rooms are small but very clean and the beds where very comfortable...They had a small breakfast room, very clean room for breakfast with a large screen tv to watch while you relaxed and had a coffee & muffins. The people who work there are very friendly,,,would come back.
"Days Inn in Brooklyn - Stay with great caution!"
I would recommend staying here ONLY if you bring a bottle of Febreeze. Although the hotel was non-smoking, the rooms smelled horribly like smoke. The room was very tiny. The door to the bathroom didn't even close. The air conditioning was a plus, although it just proliferated the smell of smoke. I actually got sick from the smell. The subway station […] was very close...a few blocks away, which was super convenient. Basically if you want to stay somewhere cheap in NY and travel into Manhattan then it is not such a bad place. But be prepared for your nose and lungs to suffer! Read more
clean room, friendly staff. this was my second stay in Days inn hotels and I will choose it again.
"Everything fine until Irene showed up!!!"
A friend and I chose Days Inn Brooklyn for a long weekend and spend some time in Manhattan and get some pictures of the Brooklyn Bridge. The good points first: Quick efficient check in, room was quite clean, with newly remodeled clean bathroom, more than adequate continental breakfast. Coffee maker in room and it was clean. Blow dryer in room worked. […] Great air conditioning unit. three blocks from Subway. Some fast food eateries nearby. Bed comfortable, but pillows not so much. Bad points: location is Brooklyn; don't expect Manhattan neighborhood. We walked around the neighboorhood and had no problems. I felt pretty safe the whole time. There are literally 10 parking spaces in the hotel parking lot. If you get one, you're golden, otherwise you have to find off street parking. I did but wasn't reminded by hotel staff to pay attention to street cleaning days and to move my car. I didn't know that and had to pay $45.00 fine. Oh well... Room was very small. Need to crawl over bed to get to the other side. Very European size which I'm used to. I got yelled at three times by the continental breakfast worker; once for letting the door on the bagel holder slam down too hard, one for letting my wet umbrella drip on the floor, and once for walking back and forth across the floor that she just mopped. It was kind of fun actually. Read more

"Hotel Review"
Unfortunately this hotel was not at all comfortable. The room was very small. The carpet was really dirty and smelled like mildew. There was no iron in the room, the bedspread had cigarette burns we asked to have that removed. The towels in the bathroom were dirty!!!! I mean so dirty they were sticking together. That was so discusting. The toliet stopped […] up and it took them sooooo long to come and handle that. The parking was ridiculous only about ten spots of parking if that. "Unclean and suspicious"
When I checked in, I was informed that my room was BELOW ground -- when was the last time you stayed at a hotel in a room below ground? Yes, there was a window, but the only thing you could see was the sidewalk, and we were underneath it. I've never stayed in a tinier room in my life. Also, the hallway was disgusting -- someone had left pizza boxes […] on the floor, with several slices lying on the ground. Pay an extra 40 bucks and stay somewhere else. Read more
"Three strikes and you're OUT."
This was my third stay at this location, and while it has never been bad, it has always been adequate. But having no working air conditioning during the hottest weekend in recent NY history...it was extremely unpleasant to stay at his hotel. The bug that crawled across my bathroom floor cinched it for me. In the future, I'll pay the extra to stay somewhere […] more comfortable. Read more
"Great!"
The Days Inn Brooklyn was just what we needed - super clean and super convenient. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the AC rocked in the heat wave! This place is a great deal for the price. "This was a horrible experience"
I do a lot of traveling and I have never received such poor treatment by front desk staff and management. We started off in room 506 and the shower was broken. The manager had us pack all of our belongings for "a special room just for you" and we were taken to the first floor where the laundry carts were stored in the hallways, the room was much smaller, […] and the air conditioner was broken. I went back to the front desk and requested a new room and was treated with a condescending eye roll from the front desk lady who then told us to pack again to go to room 212. Again, the air conditioner was not only broken, but the entire front facing fell off. They finally took us BACK to the 5th floor to Room 507, directly next door to the room we originally had. They treated us horribly and attempted to downgrade our rooms twice before finally giving us a the decent, clean room with the fully functioning hotel amenities that they advertise as having. I will never be back. Read more
"The Days Inn In Brooklyn"
I loved the atmosphere. By booking my room on hotels.com it made everything (checking in and checking) very easy.
"No Go Hotel"
In this day of smoke free, the hotel is a chemney. Even when we reqested change, the new floor was no better. The neiborhood is not where I will like to be any day or time and the picture of the hotel itself is deceptive. The parking is so tight that the cars including ours got bumped. The breakfast is good, but the hotel attendants were not very nice. […] They acted as if they did not speak English. Read more

"Days in - brooklyn,39th Street"
the staffs were excellent. There were a lots of noises coming out from the neighbour's room. when I complain to the front-desk, they immediately shifted me to a new room. Very close to the subway station. Its a good hotel.
"Days Inn Brooklyn - it works"
Convenient location and good price, room was clean, coffee was good. Only complaint was after booking for 3 people we had to pay extra to get a cot for the third person. It wasn't expensive, but it seemed silly to charge for what should have been included in the booking.
4 blocks from an express train to Manhattan. Mexican -Asian neighborhood. Great breakfast selection; comfortable bed and pillow. Ask for a room on the back side because of truck traffic on the front side.
"Worst hotel ever!!!"
The entire hotel smells like an ashtray. It doesn't matter if you don't smoke, because the non smoking rooms are in the same floor as the smoking rooms.
