Room was clean, staff was friendly and it appeared that effort was made to keep the place up. Maybe the amenities are typical for the price, but were disappointing in my opinion. I won't go back to the area, but if I did, I would stay at a flagged hotel.

We generally stay at higher end hotels, but found Silver Gulf because they had availability when others didn't. We were a bit put off by the massive parking lot when we arrived, but once settled we found the hotel was clean, comfortable and in a great location. Easy to find and very close to private beach. Good value for proximity to the gulf, however, the renovated motel side of resort has very small rooms. It's fine if most of your time is spent sunbathing, walking, biking, boating or mopeds - it's all there! Not good as stand alone destination hotel

This place was perfect! While it may not be 5-star accomodations, it was adorable, and perfect for what we wanted. It is in a very convenient location, we brought our bikes and rode them everywhere. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable, there was even a little table and fridge. Will certainly stay again next time we are in the area!

My wife and I stayed there for Christmas and it was great. The hotel is right across the street from the beach and is within walking distance of restaurants and shops in Bradenton Beach. The walls are a little thin, but everything else was fantastic. We would definitely stay again!

This is an older motel so if you expect embassy suites this is not for you. I stayed over thanksgiving while visiting friends in Bradenton. The room was very clean and bed comfy. Silver Sands was very close to the beach and offered some ocean view from the balconies. A great feature was the beach chairs and umbrellas offered FREE and put up for you on the beach.

The online info sounded a lot better than the ancient exterior and interior of the motel. Everything is old and the bathroom was so small two people could not fit in it. It was really not worth the "bargain Price" we paid.

I was pleasantly surprised by how nice our room was. The outside could use some updating, but our room was very nice and perfect for what we needed. My husband and I did think it was cramped with the pull out bed, but we were really only there to sleep and clean up. Upon arrival, the front desk staff was fast and efficient. We were in one of the studio aparto on the bottom floor. When we walked in, it was very clean and very hot. The air conditioner was very slow at cooling the room down in the heat of a Florida summer.The air flow out of it was pretty much nonexistant. I went to place the food we had brought into […] the fridge and again found that it was very warm in there as well.This cooled down faster than the room, but was still very slow. The kitchen has newer cabinets, but the stove is very old. One of the burners did not work and there was no pan for cooking in the stove.The room was a nice size for the price with 2 chairs, a queen bed, and a murphy bed. The queen bed was the most uncomfortable thing I have slept on in year, however the murphy bed was much better (I believe the murphy bed was new.) The flat screen TV was in a very weird position and we had to move the chair in order to watch, but seriously who is watching TV with a private beach across the road with chairs and umbrellas for free! The bathroom was a normal small bathroom with old, but clean tile. I was disappointed by the lack of water pressure.The location is great with walking distance to several good resturants. Make sure you try Oma's. The free trolly service is very nice, with a stop on either side of the road right outside the hotel. All in all, this is an older hotel with some room for improvement. They say its suite its not ! There is only one plug to plug the coffee maker in and you have to put it on the floor. The bathroom is extemely small and the shower head fell off when we got there. The pull out beds are twin and in the middle of the room . I had stayed at the Silver Surf last year in a studio apartment, but downsized this year because I was only traveling with my youngest daughter this time. I thought the room would be small and just like any budget room but was very pleasantly surprised when I unlocked the door. The room was very spacious and clean. The rooms are being refurbished with […] new tile floors, but mine hadn't been done yet. I was able to see one of the rooms that was and it was very nice. The bed was a little firmer than what I am used to but was huge and had lots of pillows. The room was clean and didn't have any mustiness or bugs (unusual for Florida). The balcony had a Gulf view and was directly across the street from the beach. Some of the parking is in a covered area, which was also nice, but if you move it, you might lose it! It rained part of the time the first two days, and the lady working in the office helped me find things to do that were indoors. The cleaning staff was quick and efficient; we never saw them in our room, but if we walked out for a short time in the morning, our room was straightened up and had fresh linens. This is also one of the few hotels along this stretch that do not charge you extra for maid service. I will definitely stay again. Looking forward to it! Read more

The outside of the hotel looks like it was left behind from the 1950's but the rooms are very updated and well kept. They have a private beach right across the street and this is just a great place to go if you want to get away. It's near the circle but not right next to it and its really quiet.

We had a pleasant stay at this resort. Located directly across the street from their private beach. Motor scooters, catamarans, jet skis and kayaks were available to rent right on the beach. Lounge chairs and umbrellas were set up for us by the beach staff. The elevator was helpful to get back and forth to the room with our 2 yr old. The room was updated […] and very clean. The kitchen was fully stocked, including dish detergent, mugs, utensils, kitchen towels, coffee pot, coffee and dish drying rack. Also, stocked with a hair dryer and extra towels under the sink. The shower had plenty of hot water with excellent water pressure and a beautiful palm tree shower curtin. The king sized bed was comfortable with extra pillows. We had some issues with the door sticking which we didn't report to them until we checked out. The manager apologized and immediately went up to the room to check it out before we even got into our car. We would definitely consider staying there again in the near future. Read more
