I was there on business and I was literally in the hotel for about 2 hrs total! My mom and daughter were there much more than I was...but the room was clean and beds pretty comfy! We were in the new side and it was very nice!

After viewing all the other reviews, I selected this hotel. What a pleasant surprise. Restaurant for dinner is pricey but worth it. The breakfast (by voucher) is way above what you would normally see on a breakfast buffet.Will definitely stay at Best Western Plus again. White Spot Restaurant across the street is upscale and food is wonderful.

Location.
Situated in Edmonton, Metterra Hotel on Whyte is close to Old Strathcona, University of Alberta, and Rutherford House. Also nearby are Alberta Legislature Building and Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium.
Hotel Features.
Metterra Hotel on Whyte has a health club and a fitness facility. This 3.5-star hotel features business amenities including a business center, small meeting rooms, and limo/town car service. A complimentary breakfast is served each morning. The staff can arrange concierge services, event catering, and business services. "Nice stay"
Nice hotel, people, and atmosphere. The continental breakfast was more than continental. The room was modern with an air system that was quiet and kept the room at the correct temperature. I will use the Mettera for all of my trips to Edmonton from now on.

"Metterra Hotel Is A Great Place!"
This was our second stay at the Metterra Hotel. We came back because of the great location, clean rooms, great continental breakfast and evening wine-tasting, and especially "the most comfortable bed in the world"! My only concern was that the sheets, while obviously clean, looked off color (grey)

The hotel was very clean, the staff very friendly. Parking? HORRIBLE! I received a $50 parking ticket while I was checking in. The hotel said they would take care of it. Thank you! Room? NOT BAD! I had reserved a King room...ended up with a Double b/c other guests had early check in. I was told it was a 'first come, first served' policy. I was NOT […] impressed with that. Excellent location ask for room at back of whyte Ave because of noise. Should have a choice of pillows they were hard. Parking sucks too. Valet looses vehicles and takes forever for them to bring your vehicle to the front.

Overall the room was great. The location is superb if you want to be near many choices for food and entertainment. It is also fairly central in the city. I was really disappointed in the service as the desk clerk on when I arrived was less than helpful. When I first arrived he tried ti get me to switch to what I consider a lesser room without any change […] in rate, and the room I booked was available. Later, after finally getting the room I expected in the first place, it took over an hour to get through to the front desk to get my car from the valet service. Once someone finally answered the phone at the front desk I asked to have my vehicle in the next 40 minutes. I then proceeded to the lobby after the forty minutes were up. I was waiting in the lobby for my car when the desk clerk snidely asked if I needed help. I snapped back that I was waiting for my car and it was now 10 minutes overdue. At this point the shock on his face was apparent as he realized I was a paying guest of the hotel, and he began to tell me how busy the place was and the attendant valet had not retrieved my vehicle. I then had to wait a further 20 minutes for my car. The next 2 days of my stay were much better and I did not have to wait as long for my car when I needed it. Read more

"not your regular chain hotel"
excellent location, very trendy area with lots of little shops, restaraunts and bars within a short walk. The rooms have a modern decor and aren't your normal cookie cutter rectangle shape.

Everything that the hotel could control was excellent. The one thing they cannot control is the street its on and the noise that street has on a Friday night. This would be a great hotel if you are 20 something, and into the night life. This is a terrible place if you are a more seasoned adult or if having a good nights sleep is important to you. It was awesome. There's a lots of bars, good restaurants, and entertainment within walking distance. Exactly what we were looking for. The only complaint I have is it has no pool. The room we stayed in had nice decor, modern furniture, and was clean. Yum, the breakfast was good too. I would definitely stay there again.

"Great location"
We had booked a king size bed but we're given a small room with a double bed. Once we informed the front desk of the error they upgraded us to a suite. The gym was quite adequately equipped and breakfast was quite nice as well.

Ultra comfortable beds, prime location on Whyte Ave. The hotel is asthetically pleasing to the eyes, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Metterra is a classy hotel in a wonderful shopping district of Edmonton. Our only disappointment was thir fact that the continental breakfast was so basic. Metterrra's sister hotel downtown, the Matrix, offers a continental breakfast that includes several hot options, and is much better that way. If you're not a big breakfast eater, or have plans to […] go out, or don't mind your basic cereal and pastry/boiled egg, then this place is perfect. Everything was very nice and tonnes of shops and restaurants/pubs walking distance. Only issue we had was no restaurant in hotel, would have loved some breakfast in bed but no room service for breakfast. Room service the rest of the day is outsourced to local restaurants.

The bed did not suit my husbands back... but apart from that we enjoy staying in this hotel for most of out visit's to Edmonton. Reception staff always seem genuinely friendly and most willing to help. Rooms are modern and very clean. Location is exactly what we need for a night out.

I guess its not a great start when we find hairs on the pillow and an empty bottle on the window sill- doesnt appear that the room is cleaned very well. We also were presented with a robe that was falling to pieces. Breakfast was nice though and the bed was comfy. Bathroom very average, very little attention to detail. Honestly had to drive by the hotel a couple of times to find it, but well worth the search. Been down the neighborhood on many occasion and never knew this hotel even existed. An amazing experience to stay in such a beautiful hotel!

The staff at the Metterra hotel were so nice and helpful. They saw that we were there with our two young children and moved us to a larger sized room with a fireplace at no extra cost. We were able to set up our babies bed and still had plenty of room to move around. We were so grateful to them for accommodating us in such a way. We loved the hotel. Very comfortable, gorgeous room, great view. Staff was very friendly and helpful and the price was fantastic (lower than expected)! Whyte Avenue is a lot of fun, great entertainment and shopping. Would definitely stay here again!
