"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.
"Another Good Experience"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
My wife and I have stayed at the Courtyard in Mahwah three of the last four years to attend the NEAF astronomy show at the Rockland Community College in Suffern, just a few minutes away. We've always had good a experience and this stay was no different. The recent renovations definitely spruced the hotel up. The pool and spa area was nice, although the acoustics in the room left my ears ringing after a group of children in the pool were not using their "indoor voices." Our room was very clean, everything worked well, including the internet connection (which is a wired connection) and having a Dunkin Donuts right next door makes a stay here worthwhile in my humble opinion! Just grab a coffee and a bagel sandwich and go. The rates are competitive with other hotels in the area. If someone on here rates the hotel low, they must be comparing it to a five-star city hotel or maybe a destination resort. It's not that, but it is a clean and decent place to stay while traveling for business or short-term pleasure. I believe we will stay there again next year.
"Affordable Quickie in NY"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.

Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.

Founded in 1857, West Orange’s Llewellyn Park is thought to be the nation’s first planned community. Its idyllic landscaping is similar to New York’s Central Park. Prolific inventor Thomas Edison lived in Llewellyn Park, and his estate is open for tours. Nearby is the Turtle Back Zoo, part of the 2,000-acre South Mountain Reservation. A 25-foot waterfall lies within the South Mountain woods.
see all hotels in West OrangeThe hotel was very comfortable and well maintained. The staff was wonderful as well. I am originally from the area however; never knew this location existed. Was very pleasantly surprised. Will certainly use this location in the future when travelling to NJ.
"Great value for the price"
Overall, this was one of the better values for the price of the reservation. However, I am disappointed that the hotel's staff could not locate a pair of sunglasses and an iPhone charger left in a wall socket in plain view next to the sunglasses. A hotel of this caliber should be able to ensure that items left in a room by a patron can somehow not get"lost" […] when the patron calls back within a few hours. Read more

"Excellent Hotel - nice ambience, room service"
Pros: Quality on-premise italian resturant, neat and clean, excellent room service, great internet connectivity, well maintained but small gym.
"Frequent guest"
Clean and comfortable hotel, the $1 beer and wine reception is a nice touch. A late check out option would be helpful.
"Better than some of the big players"
Not a bad place and nothing wrong at all especially the price for what you get.

"The Best Hotel in Jersey"
Excellent accommodations, would recommend very clean, and excellent restaurant attached. 5 star
"Wilshire Grand Hotel, West Orange, NJ"
Have stayed here several times. Very convenient, good service, nice breakfast buffet, appreciate new flat screen TVs and WiFI. Rooms could use some updating. Mattress is overly stiff and somewhat uncomfortable. Overall, would still recommend staying here

"The Wilshire Grand Hotel"
This hotel is OK- nothing spectacular. I had expected more based on prior reviews. If I did not get the noisiest room in the hotel, then others could not have been pleased either. It was not the hotel guests but the staff speaking loudly in the hallways in the middle of the night. The kitchen was close by and very noisy. That started by 5 am. It was […] surprising that the front desk staff never asked me when I checked out how my stay was. I recommend this hotel with "reservations". Read more
"Easy Access, step above competitors"
The only negative comment would be the breakfast included in the room rates. It was mostly institutional food. I would rather see a more limited higher quality selection. The room, interior furnishings both public and private were very pleasant and the employees were very nice
"hotel"
I liked the hotel. It was clean and up dated. Pricing was good
"The Wilshire Grand Hotel -"
I enjoyed my one-night stay at the Wilshire Grand Hotel. It is close to Newark Airport and most major highways. The room was very clean and comfortable, with all the needed amenities. The room was located near the entrance which caused more noise than desireable late in the evening. Breakfast was up my alley - including hot oatmeal!
"Wilshire Grand"
My Mom stayed here - she loved it. Very Quiet. Breakfast was very basic. Good Location
"Convenient to my business appointment"
Well priced through Hotels.com, much cheaper than Orbitz and hotel site.... workout room was adequate, room was clean, breakfast buffet was outstanding. That's all I needed.
"Enjoyable stay"
I had booked this hotel that the location was very close to my job since I needed to work very late. To my surprise the hotel looked as if it was renovated only a short time ago. It was clean, comfortable and provided a nice morning breakfast.

"Wilshire Grand, West Orange, NJ"
Wonderful service upon arrival, we were upgraded to a suite without asking due to a party that had many small children running around where I room was supposed to be. Restaurant inside hotel was also exceptional
"Great Hotel in West Orange"
It was a great experience, and would have been perfect had there not been a "disconnect" between the Front Desk staff and housekeeping staff regarding the slightly later check-out time that we had arranged upon checked in.

"Comfortable Stay"
I stayed at this hotel with my family for a one night. We are liked the room amenities, and the over all cleanliness of the hotel. I do not have any problems staying in the this hotel again. I did not eat at the restaurant on the premises though. So, I can not speak for that. The rooms were clean, the facilities inside the room such as microwave, refrigerator […] and coffee machine, Flat screen tv, complementary coffee all the time and clean interiors were some of the features that I liked. "Nice hotel to stay"
One night comfortable stay after travel to Caribbean. Forgot and left wallet with lots of cash in the business center, but still there after come back from dinner. Nice breakfast.
"Good but...."
Nice place good area. Only complaint is kids running down hallways and playing in hall ways until midnight and starting up again at 7 in the morning. was moved to another room but still heard the same thing.
The hotel was great and clean.

"Modernized Hotel"
This was a nice location although the restaurants were a couple of blocks away (not real far). There is a park not too far away and the street is good for walking - nice scenery and pretty flat with a lot of sidewalks for safety. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was there were two full beds and this was a bit tight.
"Wilshire Grand - A Luxury Hotel - Are You Kidding?"
If you're charging these kinds of rates, you need to up your game. Parking was a nightmare Sunday evening because there was a reception in the hotel. There is no doorman so I had to park in the back of the hotel and cart all my things to the front in the pouring rain. The room was freezing - there was no way to adjust the climate and no extra blanket. […] Also no "complimentary" robe in the closet. No vanity mirror in the bathroom which made it extremely difficult to put on make up. There was a problem with the television and it made a loud "buzzing" noise on every channel but one. I stayed for 2 nights - when I arrived back at the hotel late the 2nd evening - around 10:45 - I walked right in the front door, down the hall and got on the elevator. No one even attempted to stop me to make sure I was a guest of the hotel. There is no security system in the elevator so basicly anyone off the street could go anywhere they wanted in the hotel - more than a little concerning for a woman traveling alone. Next time I'll say at the Hilton in Short Hills. About the same price and they know how to run a hotel. Read more
"The Wilshire Grand- a nice change from Manhattan"
We were at the Wilshire Grand to visit our children who just moved to Montclair from Seattle. THe room rate, the size of the room, and the condition of the facilities, far outshined the Financial District hotel we stayed in two weeks ago, The room rate was almost half that of the other hotel, and the room was one and a half times as large. The Wilshire […] Grand was well kept, and easily accessible from I-80. We will be back to the Wilshire Grand again on our next visit to see our children (and grand children). Read more
"Very nice!"
I was a little skeptical staying here since it was not one of the "M" or "H" brands I typically use. However, I was really pleasantly surprised. This hotel was as nice if not nicer than any of the "M" or "H" brand hotels I stay at in that price range. In fact, it was nicer than most of them! From the outside it looks like a very high end property, and […] inside it is clean, well maintained and comfortable. Not too far away there is a mall with restaurants and anything else you would need. I was able to get a very reasonable rate through Hotels and it was about 30% less than any of the aforementioned properties in the area. Would I stay again? You bet! Read more
"Wiltshire Grand Hotel - A Great Find"
This was a great find for us at the last minute; we needed someplace to stay close to my office after we had attended a family wake so we wouldn't have to drive all the way home to Pa. We commute every day from Pa to NJ and it was just a perfect lay-over. Only complaints are lousy wifi on first floor and not enough TV channels but everything else was […] great! Read more

"Don't all you rush over and the prices!!"
Nice locatoin, good food, nice breakfast, free internet, fish in the lobby. what more to do want?
"A hidden treasure"
This hotel is a hidden treasure for the price and the quality of the hotel. it is a bargain I loved my stay at this hotel. The room is very clean and spacious, the bed is very comfortable, overall I would defenetly stay here again, and recomend it to everyone.
"Great Hotel, But...."
The Wilshire Grand overall was a great hotel. Clean, great location between Nj and NY. But... Be cautious of the "GREAT" deal you get.... I was given the first room after the lobby on the first floor. Every morning i was woken with the pitter patter of other guest cheerful kids asking mom and day for more pancakes. If you are an early riser, and are […] up before the crowd forms for breakfast, then you will be fine. However, if you just got in from a redeye, and are looking for a few hours of shut eye in the AM, this may not be the right choice. Read more
"Great hotel"
This is the second time I've stayed here and it definitely won't be the last. The staff is wonderful and the hotel is very well maintained with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Everything was very clean and well appointed. Lots to do nearby and very easy to get wherever you need to go (very close to 280). Only 2 minor things to mention […] (neither of which deterred me from a 5-star rating) - while you can't hear noises from the next room(s) you can hear hallway noise - especially doors closing and children screaming/running. The second thing is just that the gym is on the other side of the property and I had to walk through the entrance of a wedding reception to get there! Oops - there's a 3rd. The menu and prices for Primavera (the restaurant attached) are different on the Wilshire Grand website vs. the literature in your room vs. Primavera itself. So better check with the restaurant for what's actually available and what its cost is (Ex. Pasta Fagioli varied in prices from $5.95 to $6.00 to $8.95 depending where you looked). Read more

"one of the best"
We stayed for one night and I want to go back again. It was one of the nicest hotels. Everything was a plus. More than an average stay.
"A pleasure"
After staying in many hotels in and around Newark airport - the Wilshre is an absolutely pleasure
