Bar Straf - Offers light lunches including sandwiches, pastas and salads in an ‘intense’ and ‘exciting’ atmosphere where freedom of expression is paramount. Be prepared for a book reading, an installation, a performance artist or two and possibly an impromptu rock concert.
The heart of Milan, the Duomo is Europe’s biggest Gothic cathedral and the third largest church in Christendom, adorned by 3,500 statues and 135 soaring spires. The magnificent sculptural detail can be seen from the roof, and on a clear day there are stupendous views as far as the snow-peaked Alps. A short walk leads to the world-famous opera house La Scala, and the designer shops of the ‘Quadrilatero’ – Europe’s ‘catwalk capital’.

Absolutely perfect hotel. Really impressed with the materials used throughout the hotel. Very clean and at a perfect location. Exactly opposite La Rinacentre (biggest shopping center in Milan) and Duomo. Also the staff where very helpful and polite. Definitely will visit again

An ultra modern hotel, great for people that love nice rooms, but with a funky design and twist. located right next to the Duomo, maybe 20 meters away.

The hotel's staff spoke English and were very helpful. Upon our arrival after flying for about 18 hours we arrived only to find the restaurant at the hotel is a local hotspot. The loud music and people hanging out in the street was a little concerning. But when I mentioned we would like a quiet room, they upgraded us to a suite and no noise could be heard. They were really accommodating and friendly. The location could not be better; a half block from the Duomo and around the corner from the Galleria. The hotel is very contemporary, so much you have to look for some light switches (inside cabinets) and how to open the door to your room (there are no door handles). Other than that it is a great place to stay with a fabulous breakfast included.

It was about two years since my last stay at Hotel Straf and I was somewhat disappointed in the upkeep of the bathrooms. The first room appointed did not have the cleanest bathroom, so I was switched to another room. Much to my disappointment, it was not that much better. Both bathrooms felt like the cleaning was more of a quick sweep rather that a true turnover cleaning,, however the room itself was clean. I think they are not upkeeping the hotel as they probably should be in some aspects. If this keeps up it may be questionable to stay there in the future, considering the rates. If you can get over the bathrooms like I did, the Hotel itself is very cool, ideal location, friendly staff and the best hotel breakfast I have had in Milan. Just remember not to book during trade show times, it's not worth the extra cost!

Not to everyone's taste maybe, the interiors are quite stark, but take a look to see what to expect in terms of decor. The room was comfortable and the service was very friendly. Given that it is located two steps from the Duomo and next door to Rinascente, this is a very peaceful hotel and it I will use it again for sure
