Recently renovated in 2012, the modern Aparthotel Atenea stands near the tall bank towers of La Caixa and the El Corte Inglés department store, within blocks of Diagonal Avenue and Polytechnic University of Catalonia and within 1 km of the Royal Palace's museums.
The spacious lobby, with white marble floor, green leather lounges, and plants (including some small fig trees) has a hushed ambience. Towards the end sits the reception and, further down is the hotel's restaurant, bustling in the early morning with the hotel's mostly business guests.
The hotel offers a meeting/conference room and 24-hour business center. In the basement a large salon is used for everything from wedding banquets to business events. Hotel guests can enjoy an extensive buffet breakfast in the ground floor restaurant, or send an email from the computer station near the reception. A conference center is also available for large business functions.
Aparthotel Atenea's 105 apartments each include a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. Accommodations offer from 32 to 35 square metres in floor space. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available. Apartments also offer satellite television, safes, direct-dial phones, iron/ironing boards, deep soaking bathtubs and bathrobes on request. Please note that Superior Single-Use rooms do not include complimentary access to all hotel facilities.
