Good for what you pay for. Breakfast bar was cheesy but overall good enough. I kept looking across the street at marriott and double tree imagining paying $150 plus a night. I couldn't do it, not in Monrovia anyway..lol

We got to the hotel late and had no problem checking in. When we got to our room there were no fixtures over the lights, the TV remote didn't work, there was no hot water and there was a tissue stuck in the peep hole. We also had a live bee in the bathroom in the morning. The only good thing about the room was that the bed was comfortable.

The beds, in my opinion were terrible! The mattress are wrapped in such thick plastic that I actually slept with ear plugs because the beds are so loud! Not only that, I awoke sweating several times because your body heat has nowhere else to go but right back at you. So if you don't mind that, the place is just fine. The Oak Tree Inn was located perfectly for our purposes. It is RIGHT next to entrances for the 210 FWY for westbound and eastbound. Several restaurants were close by. I spent five nights at Oak Tree. The front desk personnel escorted me to my room, turned on the lights, and asked if I needed anything I should ring the front desk. Very professional. The bed was soft and warm, and house keeping did a good job.The only complaint I have is, the Ice Maker on the 3rd floor was not working.

Booked Oak Tree due to proximity to Santa Anita race track (visiting for Breeders Cup races). Most hotels in area raise rates above what I am willing to spend. While Oak Tree is not at the level of the name brand hotels, we found it to be comfortable and the staff to be very polite and helpful. I was disappointed that there was a coffee pot in the room but no coffee and the front desk told me to get coffee in the lobby, which was not fit to drink. There was no plastic in the ice bucket but rather just a visibly dirty container. They could not find a plastic bag so they gave me a small trash bag. There is traffic noise from the 210 freeway as the motel is right off the freeway. This wasn't a problem for us. But if you can't sleep with traffic noise take that into consideration. This "hotel" was in a great location just off the freeway but right when my friends and I walked into the room we noticed there was tissue paper stuck inside the peephole, burn holes in the carpet, and ants in the bathroom. After a long trip of visiting many National Parks, I had a 4 night stay here with my family. I arrived very late in the midnight due to the fight delay, the staff was very friendly and gave me a warm welcome. The room was large and clean, beds were comfortable. The breakfast was very basic. Older hotel, but room was very clean and remodeled. Shower pressure low, the mattresses were new but the top mattress was "crunchy". ? How do you get a crunchy mattresses? But beyond that, it was excellent! Location: Perfect! Like 500 ft to the 210.
