"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.
"Another Good Experience"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
My wife and I have stayed at the Courtyard in Mahwah three of the last four years to attend the NEAF astronomy show at the Rockland Community College in Suffern, just a few minutes away. We've always had good a experience and this stay was no different. The recent renovations definitely spruced the hotel up. The pool and spa area was nice, although the acoustics in the room left my ears ringing after a group of children in the pool were not using their "indoor voices." Our room was very clean, everything worked well, including the internet connection (which is a wired connection) and having a Dunkin Donuts right next door makes a stay here worthwhile in my humble opinion! Just grab a coffee and a bagel sandwich and go. The rates are competitive with other hotels in the area. If someone on here rates the hotel low, they must be comparing it to a five-star city hotel or maybe a destination resort. It's not that, but it is a clean and decent place to stay while traveling for business or short-term pleasure. I believe we will stay there again next year.

"Was the Hotel Sierra"
This hotel was fine for the cost. However, I booked it because of the Hyatt name. It turns out the hotel was still the Hotel Sierra on Jan 24, 2012. I kept driving past the place and trying to find the Hyatt. Finally I decided to walk into the Hotel Sierra and ask for directions to the Hyatt. They had a vinyl sign hanging behing the reception station […] that said "Hyatt" on it. I told the person that they should have hung the sign outside and he said the new Hyatt sign was due for installation next week. Overall, the Hotel Sierra was fine. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The room was large and had a nice big desk and a comfortable chair to work at. They also had a sofa and table. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again on my next visit to the area. I am sure it will have the Hyatt name outside before my next visit. Read more
"Nice hotel."
Perfectly adequate for my needs. Breakfast was great -- made-to-order omelets were nice surprise.
"Hotel Sierra in Jan"
I stayed for the long MLK holiday weekend. The hotel facilities and room were very neat and comfortable. The area that the hotel located in was a bit of a business park so pretty sparse on the weekends. The hotel staff were ok, not the most helpful. The breakfast that was included was a little more than continental but not that great. Despite having […] a coffee machine in the room, it was a bit of a challenge to get sugar and creamers refilled. There must have been a shortage that weekend. The room had a great TV and nice size kitchen. I would go back but perhaps bring/buy my own kitchen items. Read more
"Sierra Parsippany -Home away from home"
Very comfortable hotel. Room was clean, and shiney, acomfortable. The efficiency kitchen was helpful for preparing light meals. The staff were genuinely friendly, not that canned freindliness you get at a lot of hotels (direct from the trainiing class). I loved this place, and will def stay here again and again.
"Great quality and great price"
It was great to find a hotel with suites and at such a reasonable price. The room was very nice and comfortable. The front desk staff was very helpful.
"Expected a better breakfast"
I usually stay at Hampton Inn, but the last time, the air was so dusty from their vacuum cleaners. Decided to give Sierra a try since it has recently become part of Hyatt. The breakfast wan't anything special; the only difference from Hampton was the fresh omelets. However, they only make them during the week, and since most of my stay was on the weekend […] and holiday it sdidn't make much of a difference. The least expensive room only has one bed and a pull out couch, whereas Hampton has two beds. That works out better for my family. All in all, the price difference does not make this hotel worth it. "Hotel Siera- value for money"
After reading other reviews, I decided on staying at this hotel. it was conveniently located off highway 287. It was clean, comfortable studio style room with a comprehensive kitchenette, complete with utencils. the breakfast buffet had hot and cold items and a varied selection of teas, quite a pleasant surprise. I will be staying there again in the […] future. Read more
"Hotel Sierra Parsippany"
The relatively new hotel was a good value and convenient to family and services. Comfortable beds. The rooms were spacious with a small efficient kitchen area. The single sink area was 2 x 5 ft with good mirrors, and separate from the bath/toilet area. A breakfast was provided with excellent coffee and tea options. Fresh fruit, yogurt, scrambled […] eggs, hash browns and either pancakes or French toast were offered daily in an attractive cafeteria style setting. The bagels were the best of the baked goods offered. The staff was pleasant although sparse. Extra blankets were requested and supplied within 10 minutes. Minimal room service on Holidays or other days. No cleaning supplies were available to clean up after yourself. A sponge and dishwashing soap would be nice to keep the sinks and counters fresh during the day. The strip mall next door had several places to eat including a good fusion restaurant called Melange with good service and food. A beauty shop gave efficient and effective service with good results. The price originally quoted grew by 30% by the time the bill at the end was presented. This was approximately 200% of the posted prices. No mention was made during the visit that the unrequested rinse pack would involve an additional charge. Read more
"Hotel Sierra Parsippany--highly recommended"
I stayed in the Hotel Sierra Parsippany 5 nights including Thanksgiving while visiting relatives and friends in Parsippany NJ and other places in the NYC/NJ area. The room was actually a very nice suite including a queen bed, queen sleep sofa and a nice little kitchen. The kitchen included a refrigerator/freezer and a small stove, plus a microwave. […] The suite was actually quite large and roomy, and also was quite inexpensive given all the amenities--about a third of the cost of what I paid for a much smaller room (NOT a suite) at the Newark Airport Marriott recently. The cost also included free breakfast each day, and the breakfast was fine. The room also had a very good cable TV with all the sports channels I like. Lastly, but not least, it had free wireless which made using my MacBook Air a pleasure. My only complaint would be the carpet in my suite was slightly torn in a number of places and probably should be replaced soon. Everything else worked perfectly. Read more

"Hotel Sierra @ Parsippany-Quality Hotel"
The Hotel Sierra @ Parsippany NJ is conveniently located. The rooms were large, clean and adorned with high quality bedding, furnishings and ammenities. My only issue was loude noise at 3am, from guests who attended a wedding party at or neaer your facillity. I would suggest guests who book a hospitallity room at your hotels, be grouped together on […] the same floor, seperate from others. A quiet or adult section-zone should be established, to avoid further disturbances. Read more

"Great accommodations for the $"
Love the rooms, small gym, and complimentary breakfast...all I need when I'm in the north Jersey/ NYC area!
"Pleasant Experience"
I stayed at this hotel to take care of some business/family-related things as a result of a recent passing of a relative. The experience was a very pleasant one from start to finish. The hotel itself is VERY clean and well-maintained which made this repeat visit even better than the previous. Only part of the hotel that had any issues was the main sitting […] area adjacent to the lobby and that was because of storm-related damage from a hurricane back in late August, otherwise flawless! Rooms themselves are spacious with or without the 1 BR Suite option. I have experienced both at this property and was satisfied wach time with the spaciousness, comfort, views and cleanliness. Only thing I was not too fond of was the noise from the adjacent room but that was due to the adjoining door which I guess would be the same no matter where you stay. The bed was very comfortable and the variety of pillows was great too. Even the bathroom which I am a total stickler for met and surpassed my expectations. One thing to keep in mind though is that when you have a hotel such as this one with some appliances in the room, you tend to endure different odors when walking through the hallway but it was really ntohing too extreme yet noticeable at times. The evening light supper (Monday through Thursday) was VERY nice and saved some money if you did not wish to spend money on food at the nearby strip plaza. They even offered wine and beer at no charge which was great as well! The breakfast in the AM was more than plentiful and fresh too. They make omelettes made to order just how you want them which was one of my favorite things. There is an outdoor pool that is closed for the season and a clean fitness center as well as business center. All in all I would rate this property a 9/10 since it was a pleasant stay end to end. You will find the same results I am sure! Read more

"comfortable overnight while traveling through"
I spent just one night here as I was driving down 287. I wasn't expecting much since I really just needed a place to stay and wouldn't be there long. It was a Saturday night, which I think must explain the good rate. It was clean, comfortable and had a good breakfast. Although it's a mile or so off the highway, it was no problem getting on and off. […] Very good experience. Read more
"Hotel Sierra Parsippany - Home away from Home"
LOVE LOVE LOVE this Hotel....Got the King Suite this time and its just magnificent! Bedroom is actually a separate room separated by a bifold door for privacy...couldn't ask for more! So quiet. Our room was on the first floor (next to the laundry room no less but you could never tell). Hotel staff is excellent; everyone is so pleasant here. Wish I could […] live here during the week instead of commuting to work from PA! Read more

"Upscale, yet informal. The perfect blend."
Hotel Sierra Parsippany: Consistently clean, with pleasant staff. Prices have gone up a bit, but still reasonable. Upscale without being too stiff or too snooty. Nice modern decor, clean beds, clean sheets, and clean carpets. Good filling breakfast; not the cheesy, skimpy, 'Continental Breakfast', you get in other hotels.
"Wonderful hotel - exceeded expectations!"
Stayed here for family wedding. Rooms were modern, clean and well appointed. You will enjoy this hotel if you stay here!
"Perfect for a weekend escape"
We actually wound up at this hotel because Hurricane Irene left our home without power and after three days we needed tp leave the house. It was a wonderful surprise to find this lovely haven close by. The room was extremely comfortable, the staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly and the complimentary breakfast was better than in most comparable […] suite hotels. Definitely the location we would recommend to all in the Parsippany area. Read more
"Great hotel"
I could not have been happier with every aspect of my stay. Will definitely go back when occasion calls.
"Fifth stay here, great every time!"
We stay here every time we visit family in NJ and we are never disappointed. Love the suites with the full kitchens, the breakfast is fantastic and free, the employees are superb, and the rooms and other areas are clean. My only complaint is that the gym is not as well-equipped as I would like and seemed a bit dirty. Regardless, worth every penny and […] we are lifelong customers! Read more
Wonderful Hotel--Close to surronding areas. The staff was tremendous and very attentive. Would stay here again in a heartbeat
"Not what I expected period"
This was the worst experience from a hotel in this caliber period. 1 st I'm usually the one to give the best reviews and for this hotel it was the worst it was so bad that I checked out early and went to the Westmister hotel the fridge didn't work the kitchen sink didn't work the bath again didn't work the bedding stains room 145 defiantly had issues […] and even when hotels.com tried calling 5 times the answered and hung up. Wasn't a good hotel at all more like a over night motel is how I classify it. Read more
"Hotel Sierra - great hotels and reasonable price"
I've stayed at 2 Hotel Sierra locations and loved it. For the price, the rooms (suites) are really nice and clean. Service at the front desks were great. It's great that breakfast is included. Would definitely recommend this hotel chain to anyone.
"Good Value"
I stayed with my wife and 4 kids for 5 nights and had a mixed bag experience. But overall I was satisfied and would recommend the hotel. The room itself was a bit sparse in terms of amenities. For example, it had a kitchenette but no table. The room was called a "Queen suite" but the beds were full sized, not queen. But I will say that that the condition […] of the room, the kitchen and the utensils were all very good. The hotel was clean and well kept. From Mon through Fri they offer a generous drinks and appetizers social hour. The appetizers are more like a mini-meal. In fact, it was our meal for two nights. The breakfast spread is also decent. On the second-to-last day of our trip, the lock on our door stopped working. The manager on duty told us it would be fixed by the time we returned that afternoon. It was not and we had to explain the situation to the evening manager, who told us it couldn't be fixed until the following day. The end result was that every time we wanted to get into our room we had to go the front desk and ask to be let in. That last day we also returned to a very warm and humid room because the air conditioning had stopped working. The manager reset the system and it started working. Hotel staff were very responsive to these problems and ended up compensating us for the inconvenience. Without the breakfast and social hour, this hotel would be just barely average. However, the cleanliness, helpfulness of the staff and generous food options make it an above average value in my book. We would probably visit again and would recommend it to others. Read more

"Hotel Sierra Parsippany"
We enjoyed our stay immensely at Hotel Sierra Parsippany. Will definitely make this our play to stay overnight in NJ when going to shows nearby or when weather will not permit us to go home (PA) overnight. The only drawbacks (and they are very small) are there was no TV channel guide and there were very few channels to choose from; and the bedding was […] a little heavy on the bleach scent. The pillows were too soft, but that's a matter of preference; we really should travel with our own pillows anyway. There was a stain on my bedspread which kind of turned me off, but other than that, we loved the room! I enjoyed the free breakfast in the morning, but my husband had to leave for work early in the a.m. so he could not. Hopefully, we will be able to the next time! Read more

"Very satisfied again"
I have stayed here at least 6 times and I have still very pleased. I recently stayed at another hotel in the same price range as Hotel Sierra and was very disappointed. I would have stay here for my last visit to the area but the price was higher than usual and so I was unable to stay here. I highly recommend this over any other hotels in the area.
"Excellent Stay"
This hotel was great for the price we paid. The people at check-in were very nice. The breakfast had a good variety of hot and cold food. It was quiet and comfortable for the two of us. The kitchen area was very clean and convenient to have. We look forward to staying here again.
"A Wonderful Stay!"
We checked into the hotel at about 2:00 a.m and we had taken a room with 2 queen beds. But at the check in the person initially said that he was not sure if there were 2 queen beds in the room and that he would have to check. This word initially annoyed me, but I was patient and the person sorted it out and we were off to our room in 10 minutes.... […] from here on everything was very very good..... we were all more than happy. The room was very comfortable. The hotel surroundings were very good and the drive to New York / New Jersey was about 45 minutes only...... On the whole we all had a very good and pleasant experience..... I would definitely recommend this hotel for my friends. Read more

"Hotel Sierra Parsippany - do not stay here"
Walls are very thin and transparent to sound...heard very toilet flush, every door closed, etc. Guests in room next door came in at 12 midnight, drunk, and proceeded to carry on very loudly...had to call the front desk...got back top sleep around 3AM. Would not stay here again under any circumstances.

"Almost like home"
We have stayed here three times now, and I don't plan to stay anywhere else when we visit New Jersey. We always book the 1-bedroom suite, an it's like a small apartment with a full kitchen, which is great when you have small children like we do. It is quiet and clean, and the breakfast is excellent, and free! There is a business center where you can […] get on the internet (although you get free wi-fi in your room, albeit a bit slow) and print if you need to, as well as a fitness center and a laundry room. I almost wanted to move in! Two TV's in the suites, one in the bedroom and one in the "living room". There is a foldout couch in the living room in case you have older kids who want to sleep out there. I love this place and can't recommend it highly enough. Read more
