A group of us stayed at the hotel at the weekend to celebrate my 30th birthday. We had booked 4 rooms, one of which was upgraded. The hotel also provided us with an early check in, and as a lovely gesture, sent a bottle of wine and some desserts to the room. I can not fault the hotel. We were a little disappointed that the spa and swimming pool was closed on the weekend we went as that was the main reason we chose this hotel, also no pre-warning of this. Also had a call re an unsettled bar bill that had absolutely nothing to do with our party so suggest the hotel reviews its practices..... Poor service at breakfast -was with a group of 5 friends, was told we would need to split into groups of 2 to be seated for breakfast (that would have left someone alone). Eventually given a booth that was for 4, would not provide an extra chair so we had to squash up. Wasn't offerred any tea/coffee, we had to ask. Once at the breakfast queue, we found […] there was plenty of tables that would have seated 5 -asked to be seated here and was told only if nobody else is wanting to sit here to which we explained how there was 5, we'd been seated at an area for 4. We stayed at the Radisson for our wedding and the staff were fantastic, upgrading us to a bigger room, providing extra key cards for the hairdresser and even setting up a separate dining table in the bar so we could dodge my fiancé in the evening! This is a really good hotel with very nice rooms and friendly staff. The only reason I did not give it 5 out of 5 was due to the pool not being great cold water and a really cold feel to the decor. It does say it is undergoing maintenance but still. That said we had a great time and really enjoyed the break

Overall still good. Even the standard rooms are in a very good condition and spacious. Bathrooms are clean but not "special". Staff wasn't welcoming - and did neither say welcome not good but. Is it that difficult to be polite? I am German so maybe not the politest but even for me this was a kind if of rude behaviour. What definitely put is of was the […] so called spa area! Shame on you! Rusty stairways, shabby changing room with missing locks, shower which look like from last century. The pool itself was ok but the spa was so dark that the atmosphere was like a grot. Sauna? I don't know why but people don't seem to know how to use a sauna?! Tangerine peels on the benches and used plastic cups in the sauna - that's not what I expect. Overall a good, clean, comfortable hotel with friendly staff (on the whole). Unfortunately a lack of attention to detail resulting in several irritating experiences: * When asking for an extra duvet, was asked to simply turn up the room heating. Although I explained that it was more because the occupants had different temperature requirements there […] seemed to be some reluctance to provide this. Nevertheless was told they would send an extra duvet up to the room but it never arrived. * Dinner reservations made at hotel restaurant via reception but when we turned up at the restaurant was told no such booking had been made. Fortunately we were accommodated despite it being a busy Easter evening. * When the food bill came, it was noted that only one meal was billed for. We kindly pointed this out, although technically it was the restaurant's error. We were then told that they could not charge the meal to our room and therefore had to leave the restaurant to return to our room to get acredit card. If we had really wanted to avoid paying would be have pointed our the error in billing & been allowed to walk out of the restaurant to get a credit card? * Spa treatments booked prior to arrival. However staff did not ask for payment nor check which room the treatments were to be billed to. They only realised this as we were checking out. Not enough to spoil a weekend away, but these minor nuisances do ultimately make a difference to one's impression. Read more

Booked for 3 adults and received an oversized king bed. 2 cups, 2 glasses and 1 set of towels(bath, hand & flannel). Hotel blamed you guys for not alerting them that 3 people where booked even though it clearly stated this on my confirmation. We rang room service for extra cup, glass and towels and we were completely ignored. We advised them of the […] shower head would not sit in the cradle to shower you. It shower the side wall instead and again nothing was done. I will say the very rude staff did eventually find another bed but no more towels ect came with it. Give me 3 star hotel any time. Room was excellent very spacious comfortable and clean with all facilities. The gym with sauna steam room pool jacuzzi is a must and complimentary with your stay. The hotel itself was lovely. We had a superb room. It was huge for a double room. The breakfast was ok too. My only disappointment was the pool area. The jacuzzi was cold and when you sat on the uncomfortable chairs and looked up to ceiling the paint was all peeling. The rusty spiral staircase down to the pool was also in need of a makeover and even […] a little dangerous. If you we're just staying overnight it would be great. the hotel was situated close to moorsfield tube station along with several bus stops. amply restraunts close by and a Tesco next door for any little nibbles you need. a lovely view of the docks out of the window was a nice touch.

We arrived at the hotel an hour after check in opened yet had to sit and wait in the lobby for 30 minutes whilst they found an available room. On getting to the room the overwhelming smell was of chemicals as they had obviously hurriedly cleaned it. The room we were given was situated opposite the cleaners storage area so we were subjected to talking […] and general noise until we went out in the evening, and from about 9am the next morning. What was available for breakfast was very nice, however we had to hunt down a table ourselves, which was not set, and basics like sausages, mushrooms, croissants etc were unavailable. When I asked if they would be replacing these I was told that they had run out(several hours before the end of the breakfast service). 4* on paper... not in execution. Read more

When my husband and I moved out of Liverpool 6 years ago, the Radisson was the place to stay in the city - it's still a good choice for location, at the top end of the business part of the city it's close enough to walk to all the bars, restaurants and attractions while still being a quiet and safe place to go back to at the end of the night; and it's […] still pretty smart on the surface. But: the lifts seem to be powered by hamsters, there are only two and at the busy periods on the Friday we were waiting five minutes at a time to get in them; the lock on the back of our room door didn't work, which would have been a bit scary if I'd been staying there alone; and the pool and spa complex really had seen better days - the staircase down to the pool was rusted and peeling, the ceiling of the pool area was peeling as well as window sills and brickwork around the pool. The pool itself was cold, and as they shared water, the jacuzzi was also freezing - which is not really the point of a jacuzzi! Everything just didn't quite seem clean enough, or properly maintained, which is a shame because it was all very smart at one time. The hotel is still a good choice for a city break in Liverpool, and at the sale price is good value for money, it just seems to have taken its eye off the ball a little bit in places. Read more

Arrived at 3pm to check, no rooms were ready as house keeping hadn't prepped yet. Was told it'd be 5-10 minutes max and i could have a complimentary drink at the bar, alongside approx 30 other people in the same boat. 5 minutes turned into 50, i was eventually allocated a room ONLY when i finally voiced my dissatisfaction, this was my wedding anniversary […] and this had already impacted our day. Room was satisfactory but had water damage to the ceiling and it could have been cleaner. Breakfast was a disappointment, no milk of any sort, no mushrooms, eggs or beans. Had to ask staff. Was asked if i'd like tea or coffee (eventually), but this didn't turn up 20 minutes later, complained to staff and finally got a cup of coffee. In my job i stay in multiple hotels every week (usually 4 star), although this hotel looks the part it is severely let down in the service department, certainly wouldn't consider my stay to be a 4 star experience. Can't fault the look of this hotel, the rooms and the rest of the hotel look beautiful and are kept very tidy, the hotel staff were also friendly and helpful and the city centre is within 5 minutes walking distance. This hotel is not without issues tho which would need to be resolved if I were to stay here again, On their website they state that there […] is free wifi which is true but it does not support apple browsers which I find strange being a hotel catering for business men and women in a commercial district. When I enquired about this instead of resolving the issue I was given a number to ring and had to sort it out myself!! with their wifi provider. The main reason I only rated it 3 bars tho was the pillows I had to sleep on which are far too soft and provide no support leading to an uncomfortable nights sleep. I would recommend staying at this hotel as the overall standards and service are great just don't have any apple products and remember to bring a set of pillows. Read more

I often stay in Radisson hotels and this one is a definite let down. Despite the fact that Liverpool is, overall, one of the friendliest cities in England, the service and staff here were dreadful. The second room also had issues, such as flickering lights, but we were treated so poorly the first time, we didn't even bother to report it.
