Charming hotel perched on a hill
Room was very spacious with a love seat and two other chairs. Everything was very clean. VIew from window was wonderful and location is convenient for a walk uphill to the castle and downhill to shops, etc. Hotel staff was helpful with info about train connections, other sights. I stayed for three nights and my only disappointment was that the selections for breakfast were the same every day. The breakfast buffet had lots of choices --- eggs, cold cereals, bread, pastries, meats, cheeses, fruit, and juice. But every day they were the same choices.

Friendly staff but needs some upgrades
It was a lovely stay at Olissippo. The room was large and nicely furnished, with a king sized bed, plush chairs for indoor sitting as well as two patio chairs on the large balcony. The bed was too firm for my taste and the pillows desperately need to be upgraded, but it was doable. The grout in the bathroom needed to be cleaned or redone as well. I didn't use the balcony as much as I thought I would because of the construction across the street. There was little noise from the construction inside my room, but the view of the giant crane wasn't the best. Also, there is no privacy on the balcony as there is only a small divider between balconies. The staff here were just the best: so friendly and very helpful with everything I wanted/needed. Breakfast at the hotel was wonderful! Room service food was also delicious! If it's warm out, I'm not sure the weak air conditioning, which is supposed to be individually controlled, would be enough as it only goes down a couple degrees and even in October, I was too warm. The hotel was at the top of the hill, on a quiet street, but not ideal if you have mobility issues or don't want to walk a lot in hilly cobblestoned Alfama. Despite my complaints, it was a nice stay overall!

Don't judge a book by its cover
We drove to the hotel through the old part of the city. As we got close, my wife gave me a look that said "What were you thinking when you booked this hotel." The streets are very narrow with little parking. The hotel does have a parking garage for 4 cars, which you will need to leave your keys so they can move your car in and out. After getting into our room, we stepped out onto the balcony and had a wonderful view of the city with the Graca Church not too far from our hotel. The hotel staff were great setting up a dinner reservation for us at Zambeze restaurant which had a terrific view of the Cristo Rei and Ponte de 25 Abril Bridge. If we need anything, they were there to help. Great for those that love to be close to attractions and walk to everything.

We loved the Olissippo Castelo and staff
The Olissippo Castelo is in the perfect location to spend a couple of days exploring Lisbon, and has a fantastic staff that really wants to help you see all the Lisbon sights. The room was very comfortable, roomy enough for two of us with large travel luggage, and we had a gorgeous view. The breakfast was great. We would not recommend driving and parking a car at the hotel; very expensive and extremely hard to drive the winding, narrow, hilly roads in Alfama.
