"Clean, quick & easy."
Staff was friendly. We only stayed one night (we saw a concert at house of blues which was only .5 miles away) the room was pretty much made up of just a bed, nightstand and dresser. Was clean, two shared bathrooms on the floor. Continental breakfast was nice. I was happy with our stay & would stay there again. No complaints here !Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Cozy bed and breakfast with great location"
The Oasis a Guest a House is close to Northeastern University, making it a perfect location for me to stay while visiting my son. It's in the vicinity of the Berkeley School of Music, so there are students everywhere, plenty of restaurants around, and I enjoyed the vibrant college atmosphere as I walked around the neighborhood. The guest house was clean […] and well cared-for, with beautiful vintage furniture in the rooms and sitting area. Daily continental breakfast was basic but appreciated. On the negative side, I was told upon arrival I would be staying in a different building, the Adams House, which is run by the owners of the Oasis, but is without a desk or desk attendant. Others did not seem to mind this, but I did, and asked if I could stay at the place where I had paid to stay. While the staff person did accommodate me by finding me a room at the Oasis, his manner while doing so was patronizing and unsympathetic, and I did not feel welcome there during his desk shifts. I heard other guests getting a warm, gracious welcome, and a tour of the place. The room, which the desk attendant said was the only one available, was lovely and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. But the room was right next to the desk and breakfast area. I was kept awake by loud conversations of desk attendants and guests, and awakened early by the breakfast noise. The room was very cold and required use of a space heater. I'd still recommend the place; just ask for a room upstairs. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Least expensive hotel available at the time"
You get what you pay for. No elevator, steep stairs. Breakfast is served at 7:30 AM which is late for many here on business. My room was too warm without a way to control it. Otherwise the bed was comfortable and the location is good, with access to the nuber 1 bus to Harvard square, and the Hyne;s Convention Center stop on the T green line. The Oasis […] is near the Berklee School of Music. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Clean and Convenient Guest House - Close to "T""
This was my first time trying this property, and I was a happy customer. The dining and kitchen areas were clean, as was my room. I chose a room with bathroom, however some rooms share a set of bathrooms which give you an even less expensive option. The service was outstanding. Some highlights: very comfortable bed, good water pressure and hot water, […] quick and easy continental breakfast, free Wi-Fi throughout the building, and extremely well located for "T" usage and walking just about anywhere. Some very minor points: the sound insulation isn't the best inside/out - but I didn't find it bothersome. They could also upgrade their TV's at some point, and maybe put in some heavy curtains for those later morning sleepers. Overall, I will definitely be back and will recommend to my friends and family. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"cozy, quiet, convenient"
We enjoyed our stay at the Oasis. The staff were most helpful and personable, the room was very neat and clean, and the bed quite comfortable. We appreciated the convenient parking, free wi-fi and complimentary breakfast. We were within walking distance of most First Night Activities. It is also near the Museum of Fine Arts! Terrific location!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Spare but convenient"
My room was the size of the bed; there wasn't even room to really put my suitcase down. I expected more for $130 a night. Oasis is more like a hostel than a hotel, albeit a very clean and mostly quiet hostel. I wouldn't stay here again unless there were no other options. But it served my purposes--a short business trip, with no need to be in my room […] except to sleep. (No desks in the rooms, so any work you need to get done you'll have to do elsewhere). "Clean, cozy and the coffee was pretty good."
Convenient to the convention center. Being that it is Boston it was pricey though - which is why I dropped my overall rating a bit. The room we had was little noisy - but by time it was bedtime things had quieted down enough. I would book again - just wish it wasn't so expensive. But, again I guess it's relative.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"My stay at Oasis"
I spoke at the NCTE conference in Boston. I made last minute arrangements at Oasis. The location was ideal for its proximity to the conference center. The neighborhood was reminiscent of the old Greenwich Village. I had a very serene evening and a restful sleep.Genuine Expedia guest review
"just a quick stay"
For a quick night in town, I liked the personal charm of the Oasis. It is very convenient to lots of downtown locations. I was surprised by the size of the room (really small) for the price. Also, the shower did not work (at least, I could not get it to work). The owners were on site and were very responsive and extremely nice.I would recommend this […] to folks who wanted to stay somewhere homey for a few days, rather than the bland big hotel experience. "Quick conference trip"
Everything was totally sufficient. The room was simply decorated, but the bed was fine, there was a dresser, some hangers for hanging clothes, etc. That bathroom was small, but worked. It would've been cramped if there were 2 people getting ready in the morning, but for just me it was fine. I was pleased there was a hairdryer since I rarely travel with […] one and it was cold enough I was glad to be able to dry my hair before heading out in the morning. The only thing I would've liked was maybe a thicker blanket or some form of temperature control. I was rather cold - and thought there was enough of a drafty feel that I checked the windows to make sure they were actually closed. Breakfast in the morning was fine, but nothing to write home about. That said, it was nice to be able to have a cup of coffee and a piece of fruit before heading out for the day. For the location, the price was really reasonable. And while you won't want to hang out in the room in particular, there are restaurants and coffee shops in the neighborhood, and it's close to the T, so there's no excuse for not getting out of the room. "Lovely Boston hotel alternative"
The Oasis Guest House is a really great alternative to the standard mega hotel chain. I was on my own (single young woman) in Boston for a job interview and paying for the trip myself so I needed something affordable and safe, and in a convenient location. The Oasis fit the bill, for sure. It's neither luxurious nor modern, but my room (on the 3rd floor […] of their second building which is at 14 Edgerly St) was quiet, comfortable, and just spacious enough. The important amenities like free and fast wifi, a hairdryer, and a super basic breakfast, are included. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The room was very cold. it was close to freezing outside but there was no heating in the room. i had to request extra blankets and a room heater at midnight because i couldn't sleep from the cold. The night staff was rude to me on the phone when i complained about the cold. During breakfast in the morning i met other guest who also complained about […] the cold. i will never go back there! "Great place to stay for a game at Fenway"
It's a bed and a bathroom. Nothing more, nothign less. The one negative is there is no way to manage the temperature in your room. The upside is, it is wicked close to Fenway (10 min walk at the most) and wicked close to the Prudential Center. This place is about location and a bed and shower. If you plan on spending any time relaxing in your room or […] using hotel type amenities then this isnt your joint. If you plan on taking in the brilliant city of Boston and being out and about and seeing and doing things, this is your jam! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Charming older house (actually stayed at sister house - Adams). Keith was particularly helpful, as I needed a slightly later checkout due to having taken a small fall and needed to clean up. "Good location, small but affordable"
Small but clean room...parking nearby. Nothing fancy, but for a night or two works fine for me. Welcomed at the desk, helpful and courteous staff. Wifi included. Near Berklee, Symphony Hall.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
great neighborhood, nice clean room. No parking, awkward to get in and out.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was exactly what we wanted...an inexpensive place to crash for the night in a great location. Not planning on spending time in hotel except to sleep so didn't need to pay luxury price. Coffee in morning was good and bed was comfy. No complaints.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Although the room was small, I was content with it when I checked in. It all went down hill from there. After going out to dinner Friday night I arrived back to no working lights in my room above the bed, as well as it being around 85-90 degrees. I called the operator after midnight (which they do not condone for any reason at the OGH) who asks if my […] bathroom light works and if the air conditioning vent was open. They both were as I told him, only for him to say theres "nothing he can do" and rudely hang up on me. I figured the light would be fixed while I was out all day Saturday. Come back to the hotel around 930-10pm to still having no light. Thankfully the outside temperature dropped so the room was now a tolerable temperature. Sunday morning when I checked out there was still no working light. The icing on the cake was when the guy at the front desk did not even ask how our stay was. I gave this place 1 star in areas I wish i could have left none. Apparently thats not an option. Service was absolutely horrible, I do not recommend staying here. There were other empty rooms they could've moved me into, but chose not to. There is absolutely no reason for this type of service. If i wanted that kind of service I would have saved hundreds of dollars and stayed at the nearby Howard Johnson. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bed and shower"
I needed a place to sleep and take a shower since I would otherwise be busy all day, and the OGH suited the situation nicely. "Great little inn, but missing some basic amenities"
My only complaints are that there weren't coffee makers in the bedrooms and that you couldn't control the temperature from your room. The place is cute, decently decorated and the staff was very nice. It is in a great location with less than a five minute walk to the Hynes T stop. There were plenty of restaurants and coffee shops within 2-3 minutes […] walking distance and very close to Newbury street. It was the cheapest hotel I found for the weekend I needed to stay there and I'm glad I didn't spend more on a luxury place with amenities that I wouldn't use. The staff was really helpful. They printed directions for me that I emailed to them, and when I lost my cell phone the night clerk let me use hers to call it. All in all, I would highly recommend. "Will be back"
Booked a room for two nights to drop my kid off at college. Everyone was pleasant. Breakfast was a nice perk and the location was extremely convenient for us. I did not think shared bathrooms would work for someone who is 68, but the Oasis was truly that and there were enough clean available bathrooms at all times to make this an efficient and not too costly alternative in a great neighborhood of Boston, near a Whole Foods and the MFA.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Convient Location and Great Price"
Oasis Guest House was just what we were looking for in terms of price and location! The staff was very helpful and friendly. Clean, cozy (a little small), but exactly what I would expect from a homey Bed and Breakfast with great cleanliness and breakfast.Genuine Expedia guest review
Oasis is just that; a quiet little corner in the middle of Back Bay. Close to Symphony Hall, Berklee and Newbury St, and the T is about one minute from the door, to get anywhere in Boston. "A Charming Small Gem Squeezed into Back Bay Boston"
Staying at the Oasis Guest House was perfect for us: location is 2 small blocks from Mass Ave and Boylston and The Berklee School of Music. The bed was very comfortable, the room immaculate and quiet and our hosts, Victor and Keith, most obliging. They squeeze many small bedrooms (30 or so), most with baths, into their two brownstones (Adams B&B, too), […] making the most of the space available and provide all necessities and advice needed, including a nice Continental Breakfast. They only have parking for 9 cars (first come, first serve) -- and those are a tight fit, but the location is very convenient to public transportation and Fenway Park, so leave the car and plan to use the subway or bus. They have been running this B&B for 30 years, and their experience shows! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"So-so B&B in a great location"
Good location but that's about it. Staff was friendly but not very helpful. Breakfast consists of bagels, croissants, different breakfast breads and cakes, peanut butter, selection of jams, nutella, coffee, teas, o.j. (which tasted bad), and cold cereal. One thing that was unacceptable was when I opened the door in the morning, I almost tripped over […] a big black garbage bag. The hallway is very narrow and I had to step over over it to walk down the hall. When I came back to my room, the entire hallway was filled with 3 big garbage bags as well as cleaning supplies. The manager on duty told me that this has been a problem for the 21 years he's been working there and that he cannot get the cleaning staff to understand that it is not acceptable to put those items in the hallway while they are cleaning the rooms. I find that both humorous and ridiculous! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

My stay was very pleasant and price competitive to all other area hotels in Boston in the summer. I found transport very close, neighborhood safe and close coffee shops and restaurants.
