"nice but not quite worth it"
My partner and I were looking for a no-nonsense place to get a quiet night's sleep in the city before meeting up with friends the next day, and we took a chance on Oasis. Although the location is fantastic, and the place was well-kept, it still is much more of an excellent hostel than a hotel by any stretch, while it is priced much more like the latter. […] Our room was quite small for a queen, and there was no escaping the sounds of the other patrons in their rooms and in the hallways. We regretted not paying the little bit more it would have cost to get a queen room at the Sheraton, for the peace and privacy it would have offered. Overall, quite good for what it is, but overpriced. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

right by boylston street and back bay station, this hotel fit my needs perfectly. the room itself was small, but comfortable, well maintained and the bed had a memory foam top to it so very nice. the included breakfast was a bit lackluster but filling and had all the staples (cereals, fruit, breads, bagels). the wifi was alright, but had a bit of trouble […] streaming a 360p video (had to let it buffer). the hotel had a computer with printer for guest use, this was a life saver for me since i had forgotten to print out the ticket for an event i was going to. "Good, clean, inexpensive, safe place to stay"
I'd stay here again. Inexpensive. Perfectly clean linens. Bathroom was spotless (it's a shared affair). Good location for Back Bay - Newbury shopping and a good walk through the Boston Commons... Computer and wi-fi available.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Friendly people, homey rooms"
Nice affordable option for a conference I was attending at Hynes Convention Center. Free wireless internet worked very well, appreciated the homey breakfast area and felt very comfortable in the room, with a pleasant treetop view. Cons - shower was extremely small (and I am a small person). Could hear other guests coming and going - I slept well anyway […] but if you are sensitive to noise this might not be the place for you. Great location. Good price. Rooms are not quaint, more like a motel than a B and B. The street is a little noisy at night with Berklee students, but tolerable.Genuine Expedia guest review
Trouble checking in b/c someone had keyed in incorrect dates.Absolutely no method of ensuring quiet within hotel (could hear every door close, reception conversation, continental breakfast prep, etc. as well as street noise). No light in shower in bathroom, poor sink drainage. When things were brought to management attention, they were addressed within […] the limitations of the hotel. "Great one night getaway"
Staff was super friendly, sweet little place. Perfect for a night or two. Quiet, lots of privacyGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The Oasis Guest House is a lovely alternative (more affordable as well) to crowded and noisy chain hotels. It was very relaxing and quiet - nice to get away from a conference and sneak off to my own oasis! Owners made me feel very safe - front door locks automatically and guests are either buzzed in or use a key provided at registration. Personal attention […] was so much more than what is available at larger hotels. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
A good thing was they were nice and let us use their parking space after we left the hotel, but when we arrived later at night we had to park in the back in a dark alley. It was just my daughter and I so I didn't appreciate this. Hotel.com could have told us ahead of time that it was not very family friendly. When we arrived one man came and peeked […] his head out to seem to look and see who we were and he looked kind of like maybe he lived there too but didn't look very healthy. I was concerned who exactly stays there bc we didn't see any other people? I didn't smell chlorox or any type of detergent smell on the sheets or towels etc. and felt uncomfortable laying on the bed. We didn't see one lady there, We didn't take a shower or stay to eat breakfast. The first guy kind of seemed like I was imposing on him but the second guy at the desk was friendlier. I didn't appreciate bringing my young daughter into an atmosphere like this and would not return. Our friends up the street stayed at a place that was full , but was not that much more in price but family friendly and nice. It may have been known in the surrounding area that not too many people stay there or just a select group but because we came from far away, I didn't know this fact and would have appreciated Hotel.com giving us an idea so will most likely book in the future through some one else.. "Would return for another stay."
The building was a little hard to find in the Boston traffic. Parking is ok, but we would have preferred to park in a garage instead of in an alley.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A Nice Place"
The staff was helpful and lovely. Everything was clean but the rooms could use an upgrade. I would suggest removing the bedspreads and using more updated linens- just to give it a newer look. However, everything in the room was clean and orderly. I would also suggest adding yogurt to the complimentary breakfast.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient & Welcoming"
I was in town for a conference at a hotel down the street from the hotel. This place was small, but comfortable and clean. The staff was great. It was within quick walking distance of the T (subway) and everything else in Back Bay. It's a great place to stay (especially for the price), and this is one of the non-chain hotels you can trust.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Attending conference at the Sheraton - 3blks away"
I saved almost half off the cost of a conference room and it was only three blocks away. Plenty of restaurants and food stores nearby. One block off Mass Avenue - but sound amazingly quiet (except the occasional student singing in the street at 2:00am). My only issue is the third floor walk up with my large suitcase - reminds me to ask for the second […] floor in the future. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"FairlyRepresented as a 2-Star property"
I needed a reasonably priced no-frills room for a last minute business trip. I normally stay in 3.5 - 4 star hotels so I was concerned about the booking. The staff was friendly, room was tidy but it was like staying in someone's extra bedroom. If I was traveling for leisure, this would not do well for me but it is convenient to the "T" subways and some […] decent food in walking distance. It also seems to be very close to Fenway Park. "Perfect Location for College Visits"
The location is such that one can walk or take public transportation to several colleges in Boston. Boston Commons is just a 25 minute leisurely walk away and the staff is really helpful and good about giving directions. I would go back to this hotel any time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"In the neighborhood of Berklee School of Music"
I loved my stay at the Oasis guest house. My room was small but comfortable, and the shared bathroom was spacious and clean. This hotel is a 5 minute walk from the nearest T (subway/light rail), which makes it very easy to access all parts of Boston. The breakfast was mostly carb based (pastries, bagels, cereal, toast), so if you are looking for low-carb, […] you will have to go elsewhere for breakfast. Everything else was wonderful, though. "Simple but charming."
Simple and clean place on a quiet residential street. Small room and bathroom, but sufficient. Friendly and helpful staff. Simple breakfast. A bit overpriced for what you get. Limited and very small parking spaces, but convenient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Oasis is a great house"
I have absolutely no qualms about my stay. It is very quaint with an extremely respectable staff. However if sharing bathrooms is not your thing, one should avoid this spot. Though I never had an issue with at all.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice room, location, and price"
Small but clean room. Located close to the subway station. The only thing I wish they do better is have more variety of non-carbohydrate breakfast material.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, nice staff"
I enjoyed my stay and booked two more nights in May.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I chose this place for the price and its location convenient to where I had to be. It is in a small brownstone on a side street off of Mass. Ave, which at least meant there was little traffic noise. But if you are looking for fancy, this is not it! The interior looked dingy, the room was tiny, walls were thin, the headboard was rickety and moved when […] I did, no luggage rack or any place to put a suitcase, a lot of light coming in under the door. The room was hot and stuffy and had no temperature control, so I had to leave the window open all night. On the plus side: they do provide free wi-fi and breakfast (bagels, juice etc.) If you are on a budget and not very picky, this place will do. Bring earplugs and an eye mask if you are a light sleeper. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Blend into Boston with this bed and breakfast"
Loved the Oasis Guest House. The staff was terrific, the free breakfast was generous, and the rooms are quaint and lovely. The location is ideal, close to the train and in the midst of a lively, youthful population (music schools!). The Guest House doesn't stand out and looks just like brownstones you find on any street. Made the stay feel cosy and […] authentically Boston! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Near perfect for a quiet getaway"
I really liked this place. It feels personal, cozy, and has that ambiance of a quiet getaway while being at the heart of the city. Late at night, only visitors with keys can enter the building ... that's a security feature I have not seen elsewhere, and provides an additional feeling of safety. The breakfast was a real breakfast: enough choice and all […] fresh. I would certainly come here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lots of trade-offs"
This can be an attractive option if you're in town to explore the city and don't put much importance in the room. While you do get a decent bed and the service is very responsive, none of the rooms come with an ironing board, the television service does not include sports channels (which are my favorite way to unwind late at night) and the heating and […] cooling situation is inconsistent. I was awoken in the middle of the night by high temps (85-90 degrees) in my room because the blown air furnace dumped directly into my room with no intake. I called to have them turn it down, which they did, though I had to keep my window open the rest of the night to allow the heat to dissipate. When I spoke to another guest the next morning, though, she said her room had been freezing. Though I have to give them credit for trying to be responsive to both of our requests, there apparently is some difficulty in consistently heating and cooling the place. "Cozy and clean"
Lovely room, charming foyer, located on a quiet street. A real find.Genuine Expedia guest review
Generally comfortable. Good Back Bay location although I personally needed something closer to the North End. Provided a nice breakfast in the kitchen of cereals, breads, spreads and good coffee. For those needing a comfortable, inexpensive Back Bay location, this is a good choiceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Friendly, home-like environment."
Would give the room a complete 5 except for the small, older model TV with only 10 or so channels, mostly local networks.Genuine Expedia guest review
Convenient location to the subway, grocery store, pharmacy, Fenway and music conservatories. We even walked (about two miles) to Boston Public Garden, etc. along Commonwealth, which is a delightful place to stroll. The hotel is on a European scale, and that was just fine for us. Very clean, efficient, low maintenance and good service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"convenient and quiet neighborhood"
convenient to metro and not in the middle of everything... very much loved the friendly and helpful atmosphere (from the staff) and the quiet. Was not expecting a quaint b&b but very much one. Again, was outstanding place to stay and would not hesitate to stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The beds are in sore need of an upgrade. Paper-thin walls. It's too bad because the service is genuine and the location is great. This place charges as much as the Hilton--not a value.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location, but tiny showers and parking."
Pros: the room was clean and the location was very convenient in a great neighborhood. Cons: the shower stall in the private bath was so small you always touched the sides. This is when you'd prefer a french shower. The parking spot was in an alley with curbs high enough to scrape the car's undercarriage. The shared bathrooms might be a little larger. "A Wonderful Place to Stay in Boston"
The Oasis Guest House is a welcoming place to stay. The staff and the other guests were friendly. I will definitely return.Genuine Expedia guest review
Room was quiet and comfortable. Within walking distance of Fenway. Parking is first come first serve but there is a garage three blocks away. Breakfast was good. Not at all what I expected. Staff was great, but this was a bed and continental breakfast, not a hotel. The room was microscopic in size, though clean. The a/c couldn't be adjusted. The Oasis Guest House was exactly what I need while I helped my daughter move from one dorm room to another. I was busy all the time so I spent very little time in the room other than sleeping. "Great for a 2 Star Property!"
The neighborhood was close to the subway - great for getting around the city. Room was small and truly no frills, but with a child it was nice to have the deck out back and shared kitchen! Staff was top notch and very helpful. Service with a smile:)Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worst stay in over 10 YEARS!!!!"
From the time we arrived until our departure, I could not wait to leave the Oasis guest house! Building is very old, rooms our outdated, beds look like they are from the 50's,walls couldn't be thinner, breakfast was a joke, the overall experience here couldn't have been worse, I slept with my clothes on even though it was 90+ degrees out that day and […] night! Would never consider staying here again, if you do, don't park in the alley unless you don't like your car! "EXACTLY WHAT WE WERE LOOKING FOR"
I read all the reviews about this hotel before I booked it and I'm so glad I went for it! Make sure you have your own private bathroom unless you're okay with sharing. Nice neighborhood. However, we stayed on the 3rd floor so the air conditioning was not very good. I would highly recommend ceiling fans for better comfort.Genuine Expedia guest review
"No frills but good for the price"
We were looking for a bang for our buck in Boston. The criteria was clean, safe, friendly and close to things to do/public transit. The room was small and the bathroom even smaller (not sure if a larger person could fit in the shower - we barely did) but the room was very clean. It was close to Fenway and it felt safe when we were walking - we were […] walking between the hours of 6:30 am and midnight. Staff was super helpful and friendly. It pretty much met all of our criteria. If you do not like noise do not stay - it is a very old non-insulated building in the middle of a college - so there will be some noise. We slept through it just fine. If you have children - I don't recommend it. Too much of a hassle. Young couples on a budget - DEFINITELY. If you have high expectations of hotels - don't stay, if you have a realistic expectation of having a nice, clean bed to stay in in Boston with no frills for a great price good choice. Only concern was on the 6th and last day, I found evidence of a mouse being in our room. One of the granola bar wrappers had a shredded corner - work that only could have been done by a critter. Even so we might even consider staying again, you cannot beat the price for what you get. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great central location for couples to explore"
My wife and I planned a trip to Boston. This is a perfect place for couples who are planning on seeing the sites. As it is known to not plan on driving in bean town, you are about 2 minutes from the t station, about 10 minutes from the Fenway/lansdowne/yawkey area, 5 minutes from the prudential center.
