"A great find"
This is a great B&B centrally located from all the attractions in Boston in the Back Bay. The stay was lovely with a very attentive staff. You are one block away from the public gardens and equally one block away from the trendy Newberry street. They take great care to keep you comfortable. They bake fresh cookies every day and you feel very at home. […] I loved it and hope to come back soon. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Charming hotel steeped in history, steps from Garde"
This Back Bay townhouse turned bed and breakfast has charming rooms. The twin bed and shared bathroom work fine, especially for the price (there is a larger hotel room option with private bath also available). There are only two rooms per floor sharing the bathroom down the corridor. While there is no TV, Wifi works great, and the clock radio that also […] played music DVDs as well as the bookcase of older books added to the room's charm. The continental breakfast spread in the breakfast room was superb. The building is imbued with history: the College Club of Boston was founded in 1890 by a group of college-educated women, and its current membership boasts a roster of many impressive, prominent local women, whose photos line the stairway, giving inspiration. And who could not appreciate their philanthropic work in supporting a scholarship fund for Boston public school students! I bought their cook book supporting these efforts as well. The College Club is also just a block away from the beautiful Boston Gardens and the Boston Commons beyond that and only a few minutes away from the Arlington T stop on the Green line. Just a wonderful find! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"love these beautiful rooms!"
We loved staying at the College Club of Boston. We would stay there again, but would inquire about any events going on ( such as a very loud wedding on Saturday night). I would advise the CC to add that possibility on their website. We were unable to have a quiet evening or sleep. It is a lovely venue for an event, but CC should control noise level , […] areas wedding guests may use , and hours of the event so the hotel guests may enjoy their time there. "The perfect spot"
I believe that choosing The College Club of Boston for my stay was an excellent decision because not only is it perfectly situated for getting around, but the building is a landmark, located on one of Boston's most prestigious avenues. "Unique, cheap and perfect location"
I had a blast staying in this unique, lovely and comfortable B&B. I stayed in one of the singles with a shared bathroom (the Oberlin room, 216), and it reminded me of a fantasy Ivy League single dorm room. The breakfast room and breakfast itself were basic/fine, but the round-the-clock availability of free coffee, tea and cookies were awesome! The place […] had an overall "self-serve" feeling, which was fine by me -- no one showed me to my room or explained where anything was, for example, but this wasn't really a problem. The price couldn't have been better, either, based on the comfort, cleanliness, uniqueness and PERFECT location. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Gorgeous boutique hotel. My college search favorite"
We needed a place to stay between looking at colleges. We'd traveled a week at lots of hotels and B&Bs. This was by far our favorite. It's gorgeous, stately, quite and very comfortable. The location could not have been more perfect. We had ample shopping ,Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Outstanding Back Bay option"
If you're tired of hotels that all feel the same, try sleeping in an 1800s bedroom in the heart of Back Bay. Great location, very accommodating staff.... definitely a return location for me.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very cute little place. I picked this place because I was able to get the one person room with the shared bathroom which is about the least expensive room you can find in the city of Boston. But it also is in just a fantastic area of the city. It's in walking distance of pretty much everything you will want to see in Boston with Fenway not far to the […] west and Boston Common just a couple blocks east. "FYI: it's really a women's college club"
I relied on the hotels.com description, and should have googled the hotel first. The College Club of Boston is an old women College Club. Technically it is open to both genders, but as a guy in my early 30s in town for business I was not fully comfortable in this place. I feel like kept getting looks from some guests. Minor annoyances: The man at the […] reception was not interested in talking to me or providing me advice (barely removed his headphones to talk to me), there was no iron/board in my room (I had to go to the staff laundry room), the breakfast was dissapointing for a B&B, the rooms are beautiful for the style but my window A/C unit was really loud and worked intermittently. On the plus side, the internet was fast, the place had its charms, and the location was perfect. Yet, I don't think I'd rebook this place if I were in the same situation. "will go back again"
Lots of charm in my historical room, large and nice bathroom. Very peaceful. Nice neighborhood. Really a pleasing, different hotel experience, I'll go back to that same place in my next Boston trip.Genuine Expedia guest review
I loved the location of the College Club which was a lovely walk from the Hynes Conference Center. The main drawback was the lack of an en suite toilet and shower. very good location, good hotel if travel without children. Front desk hours until 5 or 6 pm, better to check in earlier or call hotel in advance to enter in code or you will have to wait for someone to buzz you in. I would stay there again good price and location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This B&B is absolutely charming. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and the rooms and common areas are filled with period furniture with character. Great for those who appreciate this kind of stuff and being in what I think is the most beautiful neighborhood and street in Boston.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Our room was very large and quiet with fire place and bookcases and had a comfortable bed and pillows .It overlooked the large trees with fairy lights that ran the length of the street .Don't expect slick and modern, but warm and cozy with loads of atmosphere .With the lovely shops of Newbury street around the corner and the park and train station a […] 5 minute walk down the beautiful wide street we found the location to be great. The staff were friendly and helped us with any questions we had.We would happily stay here again. "Ok to stay for location."
The B&B is cute but the price didn't justify the services offered. Breakfast is very standard, which at a B&B we would have expected something a little more out of the ordinary. It is ok if you would like to be in a good location, but I probably wouldn't book there again. I was delighted to stay at the College Club. I wish I had more than 1 night! "The College Club of Boston"
The hotel was great - like a B&B. Small without a lot of services (no fitness center), but everything that you need. Our only issue was the day our room was not cleaned, but since we do not change our bedding at home every day it was not a big issue just a surprise.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Beautiful place, beautiful neighborhood"
My room was very clean and comfortable. The CCB has been mostly renovated, and there's a nice coffeemaker in the dining area where you can get espresso, mocha, or regular coffee whenever you want. "The College Club- now my first choice in Boston"
I had a few job interviews in Boston and as a student, I needed somewhere affordable that was near to the city center. The location was perfect and it was inexpensive, especially for the quality of service I received. Since I was arriving late at night, I called ahead and got the door code. My key was waiting for me. There was an excellent choice of […] cookies, coffees and yummy hot apple cider in the dining room. The room was very comfortable and the shared bathroom was beautiful. This is more a bed and breakfast culture as opposed to a hotel. I loved the location which was close to Boston Common and excellent shopping. "great find in Boston"
The College Club was the only hotel in central Boston with a room available when we booked rather late for Labor Day weekend. To our surprise it was clean, the room extra large and airy, with a distinct New England atmosphere, the king-size bed very comfortable, reception a bit casual but efficient, breakfast (included in the price) adequate. The location was in a great neighborhood within walking distance of Boston Common, good restaurants, and more. The place itself had a lot of charm, with period furnishings. "Right on Boston Common"
It was my first time in Boston and I was flying in from Las Vegas. Enormous shock from Vegas to Boston size hotel rooms – from a loud to an extremely quite environment. This actually had a positive effect - helped me relax even though I was there on business. I found the hotel to be quite nice, very peaceful, the room was adequate and the staff was […] helpful. I was a little concerned about sharing bath, but it actually was not a problem at all. I got plenty of good sleep at night, had a nice shower in the morning and enjoyed the complementary breakfast before going to work. Couple of tips for those who plan to visit Boston to stay at The College Club of Boston, it’s a perfect location to visit this city. There are plenty of nice places to get something to eat on Newbury St. I’m more of a pub guy, I found a nice place to hang out with the locals, get a great pizza and enjoy a pint of Sam Adam’s at Whisky’s - corner of Gloucester & Boylston St. Renting a car – parking can be an issue! The only place close to the hotel to park is Boston Common parking a little expensive but convenient. Don’t leave the car on the street at night even if it’s free- you’ll still manage to get a ticket! And if you 2 hour park somewhere don’t be late because parking inspectors in Boston come out of under the rocks just 1 min after your time is up! Overall had a great experience in Boston – if you don’t want to spend a lot of money on hotel and are ok with simple acommodation you’ll enjoy staying at this property. "Beautiful, historical property, in unbeatable location"
I loved my stay here. It's not really a hotel, and not really a B&B -- it's a serene, beautiful old house in a great neighborhood, where you can rent a spacious, antiques-furnished room and get an authentic taste of how the upper-crust lived in 19th-century Boston. It's clearly not for everyone, but if fitness rooms, lobby bars, chocolates on the pillow, […] etc. aren't important to you, I'd give it a try. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I asked if I could leave my bag so I could explore the city the next day (the day I was checking out) and the office manager sternly said NO, go ask another hotel in Boston.. end of discussion. I went around asking other hotels if I could temporarily place my bags with them (and I would be happy to pay $$ for them to hold it) but they only allow that […] for their own hotel guests. So, I walked around Boston with all of my bags, since the College Club of Boston was inconsiderate. I felt just like a single day of revenue rather than a person or guest with them. Secondly, there is NO television in this B&B except a small 19 inch in the dining room. Though this place is cheap and in a good location, it provides poor service, no television and is not flexible!!!!.. I am disappointed with the management here.... I would tell anyone that wants to have a hotel or bed & breakfast to work with them to avoid this place. Spend $10 more and go to a hotel that provides considerate service. "Suprises at the City Club of Boston"
The City Club of Boston is located in a mdi-block Italianate style townhouse on Commonwealth Avenue, the most prestigious aveneu in Back Bay of Boston. The building has seen better days and, as they say, has the patina of age, including peeling paint in the small interior lightwell in the center of the house. Beware that the B&B manager leaves at 6:30 […] p.m. and leaves your key in an envleope on the front table which, of course, is inaccessible because of the locked front door should you perchance arrive after 6:30. Beware also that the continental breakfast does not commence until 7:45 a.m. which, if you must be up and about before then, leaves you withou breakfast. Also, there were no cookies in the evening when I arrived. My room was the smallest in the house on the top floor facing the alley. Its location, fortunately, was quieter than the better rooms facing the avenue. Although it was small, it was relatively clean. Unfortunately, the window shutters were rendered inoperable because of a modern draper rod. The result was morning light coming through the translucent blinds, which is not conducive to prolonged slumber. The bed was twin-sized, which posed a challenge as I am 6'-4" tall. The hall bathroom was nicely renovated and was clean, with a curious casement window opening into a rather seedy lightwell. The bathroom was clean with an excellent shower having a showerhead high in the wall, providing an excellent flow of water over my head. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
