This is a lovely place, almost quaint. It's family run and it shows. It's very clean, friendly and somewhere to feel entirely comfortable. For modern tastes it probably needs some updating but that is such a small part of your total experience here.

Hotel people were terrific...greeat breakfast....spectacular scenery from our balcony. The restaurant pickup/dropoff service was very welcome.....since the location of the hotel makes transportation (especially at night) a concern. If you want close to downtown Sorrento, this is not the place...but if you want great scenery with great people...this is it.

The manager was exceptional and lovely, he was very responsive to our needs and definitely made our stay. He has clearly worked hard to build partnerships with other local businesses (restaurants, transport etc) which also benefits guests and has a great local knowledge. The location is stunning, we loved it though it might be a bit out of the way for some. The rooms are clean but in real need of updating. Overall a good experience.

"Quiet gem in lovely surroundings. Best hosts."
Arrived 10.30 in the evening with lovely welcome from Giovanni. Amazed at view from balcony which took our breath away. After a tiring day we took a beer on to the roof terrace to unwind and relaxed with a glass of wine on the balcony before settling down. Lovely to wake up to the sound of the cockrels in the distance - no traffic noises - stunning views.. Breakfast plentiful with delicious coffee. The information booklet in our room was the best we had ever seen and we have travelled many places over the years. Staff helpful, informative , kind. We went in Sept. We don't drive but if you study the bus times travel was not difficult. Although you could only get light snacks in the evening the hotel had an arrangement with 3 restaurants with menus in reception. A courtesy car picked you up and took you back when ready. We were leaving at 6am and reception checked our taxi the night before. Getting back from the restaurant on our last night we had a great expresso and a nice chat with Giovanni who gave us some cold milk in a stainless steel jug so we could make a cup of tea with our travel kettle at 4.45am! Too early for breakfast. I think it was his mother in law who was there very early in the morning who waved us off. We got a feeling of a family unit who cared about their guests & nothing too much trouble. You would not get that in a big hotel. Met his daughter and family cat "Skittie". Not in hotel but coming back early one day they were outside. Great place.

"positioned outside of Sorrento"
The staff were very helpful and friendly, excursions booked from hotel better price that in Sorrento. Its a 2.5 mile walk into Sorrento or 15mins up to Santa Agata, walking back from Sorrento is only for the super fit ;) Hotel is 70s Ketch so if you want modern its not for you. Rooms and public areas were clean and tidy, bed was comfortable. Bus stop right outside hotel is useful for going into Sorrento but don't try going to Positarno or Amalfi from there as the buses are always full. Breakfast was ok but not a huge choice, [could have done with some fresh fruit] Overall a pleasant stay for the price

We were impressed with the service. The staff at Villa Fiorita couldn't do more to make us feel comfortable. The hotel is basic, with good facilities. We enjoyed walks to/from St. Agata (20 mins) & walk downhill to Sorrento (50 mins). The staff makes this hotel special, they were fantastic!

"Location vs expectation"
First impression was great as we were greeted by a very nice member of staff, late at night after the journey from hell. The room was basic, but as we weren't planning on spending a lot of time there it was fine. We struggled with the distance from the centre of Sorrento as bus and taxi were the only option, and times were few and far between. The hotel did have a taxi service with them which was great but had to be booked in advance which isn't always practical for a return journey. The breakfast was basic, though the milk was on the warm side. I would recommend this hotel if you aren't planning on travelling too much into Sorrento as it can get expensive. It is very far out of the way with no real option to walk into town.

"An exceptional deal for the price!"
The hotel was in a wonderful location with clean rooms and the staff were extremely attentive. Sorrento as a town did not disappoint and during the week with the help of the hotel staff we took trips to Capri , Pompeii and by boat around the magnificent Amalfi coast. The best part of our experience was staying in a family run hotel and they could recommend the best deals eg restaurants and trips at a good price.

"Fabulous views & friendly and helpful staff"
This is a 3 star hotel and hence must be viewed accordingly. The hotel was clean, well run, brilliant staff, helpful. The hotel pool was lovely but too cold. Views are magnificent so request a room with balcony. Hotel room was basic but functional - bathroom was clean and facilities good. Only disappointment was the restaurant - we had lunch by the pool on our arrival and it was poor. The dinner menu was equally uninspiring and hence we ate out every meal. The hotel made some excellent restaurant recommendations with free courtesy car - the food was superb every time and much better than restaurants we ate at in Sorrento. Breakfast in the hotel was continental style and perfectly adequate with fresh water melon, choice of cereals, yogurt, bread and a fresh cake each day etc....we felt the hotel was quite far out from Sorrento and taxi's are expensive although the hotel offer a far cheaper taxi service which was brilliant. We were thankful not hiring a car as parking is tricky at the hotel & in Sorrento so busy. Overall the hotel staff made a huge effort and for a 3 star rating you cannot expect more as it represents good value.

The swimming pool is fine. Drinks and beverages are available poolside. Snacks are available in the evening and are of good quality. "Lovely hotel with excellent views"
We had a fabulous stay here.....beautiful views of Bay of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius from our balcony.....staff very friendly and helpful......the food was exceptional and cheaper than eating out......drink very reasonable.....would thoroughly recommend staying here if u prefer to be slightly out of Sorrento. The views make it so worthwhile! Local buses (called Sita buses) stop right outside the hotel and are reasonably frequent. They cost about €2.20 one way. I wouldnt entertain taxis as they are very expensive and the drivers we approached were very non-commital when we enquired about prices....the response we got was "er maybe €45 or €50 depends on the meter....so I would steer clear....the public transport is more than adequate and cheap! Overall a fantastic holiday. Would definitely stay at The Hotel Villa Fiorita again!

"Stunning Views"
Very enjoyable. The hotel management and staff were very pleasant, helpful and efficient and gave us some useful advice, particularly about public transport. Bus tickets can be bought at reception and the stops are right outside the hotel. A private car can also be booked which is much cheaper than local taxis. The hotel has a nice, dated Italian feel. It is very clean, as are the rooms. Try to book a sea view as the views are absolutely stunning. We were in a 'garden' room which is around the other side, but our floor also had access to a sun terrace with the views. The breakfast is good. Snacks are also available which are good. I noticed on a previous review that there was nowhere to have drinks, but there is actually a little outdoor café area next to the pool and also a room next to a small bar inside too so maybe these have been added since that comment. The pool area is lovely. Great for sun bathing and the views. The location is a slight surprise. A ten to fifteen minute bus ride uphill from the centre, but otherwise you wouldn't get the views. Be warned about bus reliability on Sunday. We waited for 2 hours. The hotel do give excellent information on the reliable and unreliable buses which is worth taking notice of. The rest of the week they were fine. If you tell the driver where you want to get off, he gives you a shout. Bus rides were good fun. Especially if you like hairpin bends driven Italian style. The coastline is unbelievable. Lots of beautiful places to see

"Fabulous views"
The hotel is a little way out of Sorrento (20 mins bus ride), but this is how you are able to have the fantastic views from high up the mountain. If you are looking for a quiet retreat this is the hotel for you. It's a small hotel that only serves breakfast and no evening meal, but you can purchase a small meal upon request. The hotel has restaurants that they liase with and a car will come and pick you up and bring you back. At the hotel there is a small seated area where you can enjoy a quiet drink, but no bar as such. We used the hotel as a place to rest our weary legs as there is so much to do and see within the surrounding area. The staff are very friendly and are extremely helpful with timetables, bus tickets etc. They speak very good English, so there is no communication issue. The rooms are basic but very clean.

"Nice hotel, secluded and traditional"
Really enjoyed my trip to Sorrento, Villa Fiorita was a nice and relaxing hotel to go back to. It has a really good pool that overlooks some amazing views of the port and neighbouring properties. The staff are friendly and accommodating, speak very good English and will help you with anything. The rooms are basic, but who actually spends time in their hotel room when abroad anyway?! The main good points were, they had air con, they are cleaned daily, they have the basics you will need to enjoy your stay! Oh and breakfast was included. Worth it just because of the cappuccinos! One main downside of the room is the lack of plug sockets to plug things into.. But such a small detail that could easily be fixed. The hotel is quite far away from the town centre, but the hotel offers a healer taxi service and there is a quite regular bus that runs to the town right outside the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel purely because of the staff and the views you get here.

"Peaceful location high in the hills"
Everyone says its the view ,well it is the view ,its astonishing The hotel staff were friendly without being over familiar , I read someone said they were a little aloof ...that is a bit harsh but I can see where they were coming from . The room was very clean , the furniture was quite old fashioned without having any particular style but the room did manage to have stacks of character . The air-con worked well even if it emitted a faint glow of light in the dark . The worst feature of the room was probaly the shower which didnt really blast you with water . It was more like showering under a tap that you want to turn up more . It did though have a huge plus ....a window in the shower so you could watch the view whilst washing :-) . The breakfast was Continental in style and we found it more than adequate for our needs . We ate at the hotel only once but we did enjoy it , they dont pretend to serve anything other than snacks but we enjoyed what we had . It was cheap too . There isnt really a bar area as such , you ask whoever is on reception and they pass you a drink out of the fridge in the conservatory ....its all very trusting for its not even locked or behind the bar . They add it to your room bill and you settle at the end of the holiday . We had a wonderful time here and would not hesitate in returning or recommending it (with caveats) to others . See what could be improved .

"Had a great stay!"
You'll need to take a bus down to Sorrento and back each day 2.20 euros each way. We walked down a couple of times but it's a long way, and very steep. We'd still stay here again though. The staff were very friendly and helpful The room was clean and had a great view! Breakfast is continental with fruit, cereal, croissants and cold meats If you arrive at the main train/bus station ensure your bus goes to Via Nastro Verde (ask the driver, also ask them to tell you where to get off). "Outstanding views, lovely people, lovely hotel."
Hotel Villa Fiorita is a family-run hotel on the Via Nastra Verde road from Sorrento, you to get into Sorrento you can either catch a bus from outside the hotel into Sorrento or take the sloping footpath nearby, which is little challenging but scenic. You have access to various tourist sites once in town. A sea view room gives you a stunning panorama of the whole of Sorrento, Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius, and being able to sit on the terrace each day and look at that each day is worth the money on its own. The rooms are small, but spotlessly clean and comfortable, and although some may think them basic, for us, the quaint Italian decor made our room endearing, and they have all the basic facilities you need, such as a small bathroom (shower, no bath), air conditioning, a patio door opening onto a personal terrace, a TV etc. There is a small but pleasant pool with a cafe/bar, which is shared with the hotel next door, a daytime cafe, and a lovely breakfast room with a sea view and varied continental breakfast selection. Giovanni and his family are all lovely and cannot do enough to help you. They provide bus timetables, all the advice and help you need, can arrange taxis to and from Sorrento for you between 4pm and 10:30pm, and although the hotel does not have an evening restaurant, they have an agreement with two local places who will send drivers to pick you up and return you to the hotel after your meal. We loved this hotel and would stay there again without any doubt.

There was a very nice view of Sorrento from the Hotel. The breakfast was included with the room and had a variety of choices, including a selection of buns, cold cuts, pastries, fruit, yogurt, cereal, as well as freshly brewed café latté and cappuccinos. The concierge of the hotel was very helpful, recommending restaurants, arranging for transportation. A few things were inconvenient: the hotel didn't have an elevator and our room was on the third floor. I suggest that you request a room on the first floor to avoid carrying the luggage up and down the stairs. Also, free Wi-Fi was not available in our room, only in public spaces.

"An ideal base to explore Amalfi"
At 7 miles from Sorrento this may seem an odd choice, but really, one wants to avoid driving in Italy at the best of times - and in Naples at NO time (unless as a planned alternative to attending Dignitas in Switzerland) and on the Amalfi coast, simply because there is nowhere to park. This modest hotel with simple rooms (some with their own terraces) has a couple of terraces and a bar and pool - with good breakfast (some lighter meals at other times) and very helpful front desk staff. Their comprehensive guide in the room is outstanding and ensures that from this hotel you can explore the area including Pompeii, Herculaneum, Sorrento, Positano, the island of Capri and more. There is a bus stop outside the hotel and tickets can be purchased from the hotel. The buses are remarkably prompt and cover the Amalfi coast. The drivers are very helpful and well used to 'lost' tourists! The buses stop in Sorrento at the train TIP - get your tickets from the first floor booking office - not the dodgy newsagent on the ground floor) - straight to Pompeii, Herculaneum and Naples. Must recommend Paestum - further south (we drove so you will need to find out how to get there), but it is the best set of ruins I have ever seen - three Greek temples (yes - in Italy). Go now before Pompeii, Herculaneum get washed away, a tragedy, having been hidden for 2,000 years. They are now ravaged by the weather. Naples museum is a must to see all the good stuff beforehand

"Couldn't have chosen better!"
The hotel is about 6km out of Sorrento, but the buses are regular. (2.2 Euro each way) The views are stunning and it was well worth the effort of being slightly out of town. It was a peaceful setting and such a pleasure listening to the birds singing morning and evening. We chose a garden room which faced a small orchard and to the side of the balcony we could see the sea. There was a terrace with sun chairs on our floor. Our room was very acceptable and rather charming. We had a small bathroom with an efficient shower. The room was spotless and we had fresh towels every day and clean bed linen once during our week's stay. The real plus point to this hotel is the owners. I have stayed in many hotels- grand, middling, indifferent and bad, but I have never known such pleasant and helpful people. Nothing was too much trouble, As soon as they saw us walking down the steps, our key was on the desk and we were asked how we had enjoyed our day. Each room had a wonderful folder with information about Places of Interest and exact instructions on how to get there. If you wanted, they would print you a copy so that you could take it with you. There were several excursions available through the hotel and although I didn't go on one personally, people I talked to did and praised them highly. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

"Great view of the sea or a rather bland garden"
A small family run hotel with approx 30 rooms. Staff are generally friendly and helpful. Communal areas include a small reception area, a terrace with a great view of the sea & the town of Sorrento and another small shaded area at the front. You either get a room with a view of the sea or a rather lacklustre view of what they refer to as a garden. Strictly half board only although you can order snacks in the evening for 7E. Alcohol selection also available from a small menu. They also hold 3 evening menus from local restaurants which if you fancy, they will call to have you picked up & dropped back at the hotel at no charge. The food wasn't great at 25-30E/person so would recommend that you dine in town. Hotel serves a modest cold breakfast which I found to be OK. Ok so the room was basic but it was cheap so I was more than happy. They provide sachets of shampoo, soap, toilet roll and that's it! No tissues, razor, ... or any coffee/tea making facilities. Avoid using taxis from Sorrento to the hotel. They charge 30E. Use the SITA bus which runs every hour or so IN THEORY for 2.50E! But they rarely run to schedule. I experienced 2 scheduled runs never turn up and ended waiting 2-3 hrs. The hotel can also call a taxi for you at half the cost so note their number down before setting off. You can catch the SITA bus to Sorrento or Amalfi coast just outside the hotel which was handy. The bus service was really the only let down.

"Friendly, family-run hotel with fantastic views"
I stayed here with my sister the first week of October 2013. Despite the unusually early rain, there were many sunny afternoons and it was a fantastic place to watch the nightly thunderstorms from. The hotel is a twenty minute bus journey from the centre of Sorrento. Buses are regular and drop you right outside the hotel, which offers fantastic views across the bay and towards Mount Vesuvius. The owners and staff are very friendly and were always available to offer advice for local trips. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfasts were lovely. There is no restaurant but the small snack bar provides really nice food and the owners can advise on local restaurants with included transport. If you don't want to stay in the city, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Amazing Views"
Very nice traditional Italian hotel, with wonderful views across Sorrento & beyond. Basic but traditional accommodation. Local buses are required to reach Sorrento town which can be an hour apart, by choosing this hotel you are opting for amazing views & a relaxing environment rather than being centrally located in Sorrento. We preferred this set up rather than being in central Sorrento which was far too touristy. Our favourite spot in Sorrento was the Fishing Harbour `Marina Grande` which still offered real Italian charm & character.

"Real Italy"
We spent 6 fantastic nights at this hotel. We could not fault any aspect of the service provided. The family run hotel is welcoming and provides all the requirements for all travellers. It is a fair way out of Sorrento town but serviced by the local buses it is only a 15 minute trip in. Breakfast was ample and fresh and in house meals are good if a little limited in choice. Three local restaurants provided courtesy cars to eat out at their restaurants. Rooms are clean and spacious with some having incredible views across the Bay of Naples.. Giovanni is a superb host ably supported by other family members. Nothing is too much trouble for them. A fantastic break which was enhanced by the surroundings and people.

"Excellent Friendly Hotel"
Upon our arrival we were greeted with a smile, the staff could not do enough. It was approx 7km out of the centre of Sorrento on a busy road, as we like waking the location was not perfect, but maybe that is why it is priced very reasonable. The Bus service into the centre of Sorrento is very good and reasonably priced. The views are what sold the Hotel to us and they are truly magnificent.
