Really good service and nice big rooms. Cheap but totally worth more money. Best breakfast i've had Of all cheap hotels. Located in an ok neighborhood and walking distance to foodstore. Strongly recomend this hotel!

It's difficult to find an inexpensive hotel in Westwood. However, Royal Place is clean, relatively affordable, and has a great location. The rooms are comfortable and clean. I always enjoy my stay. They only "bad" thing I have to say about the hotel is that they could work on changing the decor of the hotel.

Exactly what we were looking for. Just a spot to stay that was close to UCLA and not too expensive. They only have 3 cots available so if you need one you should call them to make sure they can keep one available for you. I lucked out and got the last one when I visited. Overall great.

Stayed twice about a month apart. Older building but kept in pretty good condition. The single room was roomy with small bathroom. The suite was small but functional. All rooms have mini-fridge and microwave which is helpful. The staff was very friendly but we requested early check in and on both stays they could not accommodate. The hotel staff was very nice. We needed a crib (I called ahead for it) and they had it in the room before check-in. Breakfast was not impressive, but it was free. Parking spaces are tight and in an alley, but was free as well. It was very nice to have a microwave in the room. I would stay there again for sure.

Difficult to access, but once you know the streets it's a diamond in the rough. Staff could be more helpful but the rooms was nice and spacious. It was perfect for my purpose for visiting. This is an older building in a great neighborhood. City Target and Trader Joe's are close. Tons of places to eat. Eat at The Lime Truck or 800 Degrees. The hotel provides free parking and wi-fi. There are numerous restaurants and shopping of all types within walking distance. It would be difficult to beat the price at in that location. There is nothing special about the actual facility or the staff.

The outside is dull, the "lobby" non-existent, the desk clerk bored. Parking is down an alley but no charge. The halls are narrow, the elevator tiny. I am pretty thorough in my hotel reviews before a long-term stay. This one jumped out at me as a diamond in the rough. I wouldn't go that far. The "mini-suite" was just okay to me. It was really small. The beds and pillows were super comfortable. The flat screen TV's were nice but my fridge was hardly cold, the TV was very slow and pixelated, the internet […] connection was very poor--felt like 10 years ago with dial-up. I escalated my internet connection concerns twice to the front desk but received no follow-up communication and it did not improve. Ditto for the TV. Almost felt like I was getting a, "it is what it is" service. Very disappointing frankly. The maids did clean pretty well every day but I am not kidding, they missed something 6/6 days--forgot to replace towels, soap, finish cleaning, etc. It kinda turned into a joke. Overall I would still rate my stay at a 4 because I did sleep comfortably on a very nice bed, loved the pillows and loved the location with its access to UCLA and surrounding restaurants and shopping. I would consider staying here again if the service, including internet, improved. Read more

I am not to pleased with the fact that you charge for a full number of days even if you check out early. I booked the room because my wife was having open heart surgery at UCLA. There is no way to tell just how long her stay in the hospital would be and I did not feel that I could afford to book for the possible 10 days I was told it might be. Comfortable room, good beds and very accommodating staff. The breakfast is OK but not the best I've seen, and the breakfast room has neither windows nor a TV. The location is great. Westwood village is nice to walk around and Trader Joe's is only 2 blocks away.

My husband and I were visiting his brother who is a graduate student at UCLA and lives in the area around the hotel. Great location, close to lots of restaurants (the front desk recommended 800 Degrees, which was outstanding), and an easy walk to UCLA.
