We booked this hotel while in Chicago for a trade show. The price was good, there was free breakfast everyday and a free cocktail hour every night. The staff was ridiculously friendly and helpful. The hotel decor was funky and modern. I highly recommend the hotel.

We loved having the breakfast buffet on our floor so we could walk there in a pajamas. We had never seen that before & thought it was great. The complimentary cocktail hour was awesome as well. We will definitely be back.

Hotel was great. We slept the best in a long time on this bed. Very comfortable. A few times it was rather noisy, especially guests right on either side of us. But, not enough to get upset about. The maid did come in once during a shower, but otherwise the service was great. This our second time visiting Amalfi. This time we brought our little dog with us and we were placed on the designated for guests with pets floor.The condition of the room and the appliances were not what I was expected. There was pet hair on the furniture, dust, hair on the pillows, etc. In a addition some of the appliance did not work properly (the […] handle in the shower kept spinning causing the water to get too hot, the sink was scratched, etc.) The breakfast and the evening reception were great! We recently spent 4 nights at the Amalfi Hotel while visiting Chicago for our family New Year's trip. We were pleasantly surprised by the comfort and quality of the service at this fairly centrally located Hotel in downtown Chicago. The hotel seems to cater mostly to business clientele but we saw a few families while there as well. We applaud the convenience […] of their Breakfast Bar on each floor (pastries, coffee, juices, milk, cereals and fruits# that is included in your stay. We also ordered food that came delivered from Harry Caray's Tavern from across the street and found their selections and quality about average although of generous portions; the price is about comparable to any In-Room Dining that you would expect from a similar Hotel. The Amalfi has a small Gym/Workout room that has a good selection of Life Fitness treadmills and ellipticals, along with free weights and medicine balls #and other items that I did not use# that were in very good conditions and well kept; they were more than I needed during my stay. There is a Business Center on the 4th floor that has Internet Access with printers for guests use; convenient to check-in our return flights and print out boarding passes. The staffs were very friendly in pointing out directions and helping us figure out our stay. We enjoyed our dinners at local Sullivan's Steakhouse and also a nearby Star of Siam #great pricing and food and just a short walk away on State Street and Illinois). We would stay again! Read more

Extremely Great Hotel to reside. The staff were all very courteous and professional. We stayed throughout New Years. The staff had a list of local entertainment to attend for New Years Eve. The staff also took time during Check-in to ensure we knew off all the local restaurants, shopping and attractions close in proximity to hotel. My only con but […] is not hotels fault is the expensive parking downtown Chicago. My wife loved the continental breakfast located on each floor of the hotel. I have stayed in 100 different hotels, the entire staff of the Amalfi was the most friendly & most helpful staff of any place I have ever stayed. There rates were excellant, not like many places that over charge for a bed & a shower. If they stay true to this, I will not stay at any other location in Chicago. Well done.

I spend 2 nights there with my daughter. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is excellent, close to all important shopping and entertainement places downtown. Very clean and fast room service. All in all a very good experience.Wetaher was warm so I did not miss the pool or spa.

Relaxed, personal welcome by staff....all along the way. The complimentary breakfast needs re-working on each floor...having it opposite the elevator bank, with no place to sit, no table to rest a plate, cup, etc. is poor, clumsy, awkward and inconvenient for those eating, for staff going to rooms to clean, for guests using elevators. Why not take at […] least one room and/or suite per floor as a breakfast room....and on floor 6, using the Ravello Happy Hour Lounge. The Amalfi Hotel Chicago is one of these great best kept secrets in Chicago! Friendly staff, the most comfortable bed you'll EVER sleep in, and it's situated PERFECTLY in the middle of everything. Short walks to the Loop, The Magnificent Mile, the Merchandise Mart, Navy Pier...the list goes on and on. Some of the furnishings in the room were dented/ […] cracked/ showing signs of significant wear, but it wasn't anything that took away from the overall experience. The complimentary continental breakfast was fine for my needs, though if you have a family or are a heavy eater- the offerings may be bit on the...scant...side of things. The free wi-fi was fast, convenient, and after a quick call to the front desk to confirm the access code- I was online within minutes of checking in. If you're staying at this hotel (or any Downtown for that matter), I would HIGHLY recommend AGAINST driving as the nightly rates to park can go from ridiculous to outright stupid (the highest I saw was $55/night). However, since I didn't drive for this trip; I'd check with the front desk about any hotel rates that might be offered. Overall this is a fantastic little hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience, and will be recommending the location to my family friends; I'll be booking again in the near future! Read more

We had a two night stay for a conference nearby as well as to celebrate our tenth anniversary. We were very happy with the location (taxi ride from Union Station was less than $10) as well as the hotel experience. Very friendly and helpful staff, great continental breakfast and evening "happy hour" spread and comfortable, quiet rooms. I really enjoyed […] the boutique, personal feel of this hotel versus the massive highrises we have stayed at before in this area. The only negatives that I can site are that some of the finishes are showing wear (such as espresso stained furniture with scratches, carpet a bit dingy) and that they had limited channels (no home channels, food channels, etc. Five sports channels though so my husband had no complaints!). I would ABSOLUTELY stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Chicago. Excellent experience and superb service. Well done Amalfi Hotel! Read more
