"Very convenient to convention center"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Friendly, competent staff, beautiful public spaces, great location if you're attending a conference at the Washington Convention Center. Room was a bit dated, had no safe or fridge, merely adequate bathroom.

Downtown DC is awash with culture. The Smithsonian Institution museum complex flanks the National Mall. The Washington Monument bisects the Mall, just south of the White House. Federal agency headquarters house bureaucrats of varying stripes. Moneyed and powerful lobbyists help create (and quash) laws from K Street. Chinatown and the Washington Convention Center lie east of downtown.

"Close to the business I was conducting"
My stay at the hotel was great. Charnee at the front desk was very helpful in getting me directions to my business meeting and was very cheerful and welcoming during the stay. Also the cookies are great. I would recommend this hotel to others visiting the DC area.
"Helpful staff and Comfy beds"
Great beds and freindly staff. Nice breakfast. Bathroom and workout room were small. A little far from the metro with luggage, but doable, and walkable to most offices downtown. Not a lot of food and drink options at night.

"Comfort Inn convention Center D.C."
Excellent experience during stay. The staff could not have been more helpful in all areas. Fantastic breakfast. Quite well located for all the sights in D.C. Will return on next trip, for sure.
"not great, but pretty nice"
This hotel wasn't glamorous, but was nice and clean. both at checkout and check-in there was only one person at the desk (very friendly) and one valet. It took 40 minutes to get our car in the morning. Some people had to wait longer. By the time we had waited about 10 minutes to check out, the line had gotten even longer and people probably had to wait […] at least twice that. For some reason our room didn't have a phone. I had to use my cell phone to call for my car. The rooms appeared to have been recently renovated and were clean and pretty nice. Read more
"Great hotel, good price, well maintained"
It definitely lived up to the name "Comfort inn." The front desk people were all very helpful and nice. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to H and 1000, but it was ok. Breakfast was good, offering waffles, cereal, eggs, muffins and coffee as well as juice, etc., There were nice restaurants in nearby areas, within a block. The wi-fi was not very strong. […] The TV channels were messed up, but they sent someone to fix the problem very quickly. It would have been better if that had not been a problem. The place is well maintained and clean. It was definitely worth every penny. I highly recommend. Read more
"Great stay"
The hotel is located in a decent neighborhood and is within walking distance of the Capital Mall and several good eating places. Hotel staff was very friendly and my request for a late checkout was granted without hesitation. The bed was a bit too short for me at 6-1 and car parking is difficult to find. I would surely stay here again.
"Washington DC trip for Spring Break"
My daughter and I spend two lovely days in March in DC. We stayed at the Comfort Inn near the Convention Center. The staff was very helpful recommending different museums and tours and nearby restaurants. We were able to see most of the monuments and go to four different museums in two days. I felt very fortunate to have the assistance of the wonderful […] staff at the Comfort Inn. Read more
"The comfort inn in washington downtown"
This hotel is located in Washington downtown. So I can easily take a subway and go for a walk around many museum.
Our stay at the Hotel was great. The staff was great. We got to check in early without any problems. The hotel is about 4/10 of a mile from the Convention Center metro stop. It was a very easy walk. The full breakfast included was very nice. The rooms are very small but updated and clean.
Very helpful front desk service with questions in regards to surrounding areas. I'd definitely go back to stay there!

The breakfast was much better than I expected.
"Conference at the Convention Center"
This hotel was perfect for me and my company to stay while putting a conference together at the Washington Convention Center. The rooms were nice, the staff was helpful and it was conveniently located. The only negative was that the high speed internet didn't work in my room.

"13th street, washington dc"
I had the MOST pleasant stay there! The staff was so kind, so friendly - they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable! I was so pleasantly surprised! The staff there - especially Raj, who thanked me over and over for choosing Comfort Inn. I will be sure to return - I had a super stay; everything was clean, comfortable, friendly and welcoming. "Nice hotel on 13th NW and M street"
The location of this Comfort Inn hotel is quite convenient, 10-minute brisk walk to Washington Monument. The room is nice and clean with free wifi. The breakfast is also very good.
"Washington D.C."
Booked this hotel because it was close to two metros going into D.C. Very convenient. Surrounding area is nice, but had trouble finding affordable dining. Rooms were small but great for our one night stay and day trip in D.C. Room was very clean: great AC, fridge, and bathroom. Elevator was slow but some parts of the hotel are under construction so […] it was fine. Free breakfast was good: waffle maker, cereals, fruit, muffins, donuts, tea, coffee, bagels. Staff was great; was able to check in at noon instead of 3pm and they let us keep our car there till 6pm after we checked out at 11am. Definitely would recommend. Use the D.C. metro, it's great to get around without wasting gas and the $9 day pass is awesome. Read more
"Excellent Hotel - I went there based on reviews"
After reading reviews on hotels.com and tripadvisor, we decided to stay at this hotel for two nights. We booked two nights at this hotel for a visit to Washington DC. The hotel is under renovation but we barely noticed it and the work that has been done is impressive. The lobby, breakfast room and our rooms were very clean and attractive. The desk staff […] helped us with directions and restaurants nearby, which I will also do reviews on and were very good. The neighborhood was the type where we walked and felt safe, better than even downtown where the panhandlers were. We enjoyed our stay, saw things we never saw before and I was glad to stay here. Thanks to hotel staff people, Noemi and Kyle. The internet was fast and free and the room had a large new flat screen tv. The breakfast was excellent. Read more
"Clean but not convenient"
The biggest drawback here was the distance to things like the convention center and restaurants. It was too far to walk in most cases so we spent a lot on cab fare. But the hotel itself was very nice and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
"adequate"
Pros - location to convention center, cost, breakfast, friendliness of staff Cons - rooms a bit aged (curtains, beds) - sofa bed horrible - problems with keys working - fitness center off site and really inaccessible -steps at entrance - difficult when carrying luggage and no staff to help with luggage -elevator slow
"Comfort Inn - Downtown in Washington, DC"
The hotel lobby is being remodeled, but my room was great. Front desk staff was very helpful and pleasant to work with. Good deal for the price.

"Comfort Inn Convention Ctr/Downtown"
Everyone is nice and helpful, even the construction workers. The room is comfortable and simple. The hotel is currently under renovation.
"Comfort Inn a Jewel in DC"
Coming in the lobby was like "coming home". Very friendly, and welcoming staff create a very nice and comforting atmosphere. The staff all seem to enjoy working at the Comfort Inn. The breakfast is over the top plus free internet! We were within walking distance to all the sights we wanted to see. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.
"Not so convenient"
The website said Comfort Inn Convention Center. I assumed it was near the Center. Wrong. It was 5 long blocks away. If you are independent and cheap like myself, you are 5 blocks from the subway. Otherwise, everything was ok.
"Comfort Inn Convention Center DC"
Easy walk to convention center, full hot breakfast, free internet, great bed, free local phone calls. Overall very satisfied!
"great location"
I really liked the location of this place. It's a decent walk to the monuments & National Mall, but there is a Metro station nearby. I enjoyed the fact that it was close enough, but far enough away that I was able to get a better sense of actual DC versus that touristy parts of DC. I definitely recommend stopping at a restaurant or bar in the area […] if you want to get away from the crowds that are more downtown. This place was undergoing some remodeling and it definitely showed. Things weren't that clean, but I can't complain too much because I got a great deal on the place and if they're remodeling, it means it should look better soon. Room was small, but I'm not picky and I don't spend time in my room outside of sleeping. Hotel staff was very courteous and answered any questions I had. They also let me store my stuff in a closet on the day I checked out, as my bus wasn't leaving until later in the day. Continental breakfast was good (and one of the reasons I chose this place over a couple others that didn't have a continental breakfast). If I came back to DC, I'd probably stay in a similar location but choose a different hotel. Read more
"Comfortable and Convenient"
This hotel was comfortable, clean and convenient. It was reasonably priced and the front desk was courteous. Obviously, there were no luxuries, but if you're looking for a convenient and affordable place to stay and you don't require a lot of bells and whistles, this is a very good option.

"Comfort Inn DC Convention Center"
The room was clean and comfortable. The air conditioner worked well - a must when visiting DC in August. The location was could not have been more convenient. I never used Metro or a cab. The staff couldn't have been nicer and friendlier. For a hotel in this range, outstanding.
"One night stay"
My only concern regarding my stay was the zig-zag shape of the room.

"Decent place to stay"
Great location, clean room. The breakfast can be better.
"Bad experience"
Bed Bugs in room, my daughter was eaten by the bugs. We got our rooms free, but it does not compensate for the trauma i or my child experienced.
"Great offer"
This hotel was great of the price. Practically in the middle of everything. I was going to the convention center, so it was just 4 blocks away. Would book here again.
"Great Room and Location for the Money"
Close to the Convention Center and K-Street, this hotel was convenient! Only wish it had been a little closer to a Metro station. The accommodations were great, and the hotel even sported a breakfast of sorts. Coffee was great! All of this for a great price.

"A great place to stay on a budget"
I stayed at this hotel for two nights while exploring D.C. Since I was just looking for a home base for my stuff and a place to sleep, I didn't expect too much. When I arrived in my room I was pleasantly surprised. It was clean and comfortable -- there was even a small couch in the room. Overall, I have no real complaints. The breakfast wasn't anything […] special, but what do you expect for free? This is a great place for anyone on a budget that doesn't need a luxury hotel room. Read more

"ok for the price"
very small room. no on site parking you are charged a seperate fee per night for off site parking and you have to wait an hour for your car. not close to metro trains at least 6-8 blocks to closest train staition. overall not very satisfied with hotel.
"What a joke!"
First off, the 27$ valet fee is outrageous. Especially considering the fee was not advertised upfront. Secondly the 40 minute guarantee is a joke. After an hour and a half wait, the front desk calls us and tells us that our car is ready. We check out, go outside, and what do you know? No car! My wife goes back inside only to be told we will have to […] wait an additional twenty minutes! Add this 'mix-up' to the run down character of the hotel, the small cramped rooms, the elevators that work when they want too, the disgusting beat up bathroom, and you have a recipe for a big rip off. I could have sworn I have seen these same exact conditions in section 8 housing. But I would never have thought to find them in Downtown DC let alone for the price we paid. Plenty of other hotels with similar rates and free parking to choose from, do not go to this hotel! Read more
