"Excellent value and fantastic location"
Wonderful central location and beautiful historic building. The roof top bar and pool are fantastic although the service up there was adequate at best. The apartments offer great privacy and comfort with doors to close off the bedrooms while keeping the common areas accessible. Lovely views from the room we had and overall a super value near trains, metro and other transportation.

"Perfect location"
You chose this hotel because of its excellent location and beautiful views from the rooftop terrace, not for the rooms. The hotel is right next to Restauradores Airport bus stop and metro station. Very handy when going to / from Airport. It is right in the centre of the city and you can walk to everything. The rooms and interior in itself on the other hand are very dark and the hotel has very dimly lit public areas. Service is so so. When my luggage arrived late to the hotel, reception never noticed me that it had arrived. The food in the bar at the top is disappointing, but the views make up for it and they have wine. The pool is not heated and there could have been more sunbeds. The glory days of this hotel has long gone, but it still has its selling points in the view and location.

"Nice hotel close to all the attractions"
The hotel was nice and clean. Nothing fancy, but adequate. Within walking distance to all the main attractions and lots of places to eat around there. The only negative is we booked for three adults and we only had 2 twin beds. Luckily another friend was also staying there and the third person stayed in the other room. Rooms were quiet and comfortable. There was a small kitchen in the room that had basic items Overall the stay was pleasing

"Nice Hotel in Plaza Restauradores"
Good hotel situated in Baixa perfect location” Great hotel situated in an old theater as you can see from the picture, the facade is outstanding next door to Train station . Rossio and fair walk distance 10 mins to Praca do Comercio ( main stop for touristic buses ) Subway is in the left of the hotel Restauradores station, on the right side ,as you face the hotel , you can find a funicular that will take you to Bairro Alto , there is a great Mirrador and an outstanding church I forgot the name from there you can explore Baiiro Alto There is a small kitchen in the hotel room , coffee machine, tea kettle as well as forks and knives, kitchen tools ( for whoever wants to cook, I did not bother as I wanted to see all the landmarks ), as well as washing machine Don't bother to buy detergent , the hotel staff will place all your used glasses and plates and will dish wash them for you Outstanding service from the hotel manager, a lady that is very helpful and nice ,thanks a lot for your kindness . There is a near supermarket on a side street as well - Pico Doce , very low prices comparing to rest of the Europe , for daily needs , water snacks, soft drinks ( ask the locals for directions, or the hotel staff ) , before the supermarket there is a very affordable buffet with both vegetarian and meat options . price is very low 6-7 euros is I recall correctly Overall a pleasant experience Tips : ask for an apartment facing the back , the rooms are quiet

"Very nice apartment"
We had a 2bedroom apartment and it is just enough for the 6 of us. Very clean and I was surprised the cleaning lady comes everyday. It is walking distance to the cathedral, boqueria market, restaurants and nightlife. It is quiet even if we are on the middle of everything. The best is the staff, both were very helpful and nice and accommodating.

The bus from the airport stops right across the street from the hotel. Also, we were able to catch the double decker tour bus just a few blocks from the hotel. The room was a nice size with a tiny kitchenette. The hotel has a very nice terrace on the rooftop with a pool and bar. It's a great place to relax at the end of the day. The views of Lisbon are wonderful. The hotel was walking distance to lots of cafes and shopping.

"Definitely close to all the must sees of Lisbon"
After a week in the countryside of Portugal we could only stay two nights in Lisbon. So, we needed a good hotel convenient to what we needed to see Lisbon. VIP Executive Suites Eden was the answer. Metro was right outside the door. Restaurantadors was right there. Baxia and Rossio were short walks. Belem and Castelo de Sta Jorge were tram rides easily caught at Rossio. The Hotel was great - room was not big, but very suitable for crashing into after a long day of touring, clean, the right price.

"Clean and Safe"
Overall this hotel is clean and safe. However, it is somewhat old and not in a charming way. We had issues with our room and had to change rooms each of the three nights we stayed. The while the staff was very responsive, it was tiresome moving with two children in tow. My feeling is that they should perhaps focus a bit more on the upkeep of the AC system. The neighborhood was safe and near the metro and other things we wanted to see. The roof-top pool was very nice. The beds were very hard, but the room was clean and there were plenty of linens and soaps.

The rooms at the VIP Eden are really a great value and very functional for more than 2 people. We had a separate bedroom & a sitting room with a pull out bed, & a tiny kitchen for 3 of us. There is a little pool and a bar with a beautiful view on the roof. There is free internet in the lobby. It is next door on the right to a police station. Our tour guide joked that it was the safest hotel in Lisbon! But, the facade to the left is vacant, and there were multiple homeless people sleeping in boxes on the steps. When we first arrived, I was a little uncomfortable, as I hadn't seen any other "urban campers" in the tourist districts, but with the police on the right side, I guess it was a safe place for them to be... The metro is right in front. The station is just around the corner, and shopping and dining is all around. It is a very good location for traveling in Lisbon. The facade is from an old '30's Art Deco movie theater & is really cool.

"Good location, kind of."
Pretty decent spot, but just average in most ways. Located across from a nice square (Restauradores) and overnight parking, and well situated for a short walk to the main historic areas, but had homeless people sleeping on the street just next door during some sort of renovation that had a dampening effect on the atmosphere, to be honest. Nice windows and views. Staff was just fair with English. Nice deck and pool area on the roof, with great views and a decent bar. Rooms were furnished "bare bones" at best, so not so hot there. Ride the Streetcars!

"Over night at VIP Eden"
The hotel is in a perfect location so close to everything you need. The rooms are extremely roomy. All rooms have third own kitchen which was great. The rooms themselves need to be updated. They reminded me of an old motel 6. The room is clean but paint a d furniture is old. If that type of thing does not bother you it's perfect. We didn't mind the room since we didn't spend too much time in it.

"Amazing building, not an amazing hotel"
The "VIP suites" has so much potential. The location is phenomenal: the Eden theater is a phenomenal building from the outside, centered downtown, with restaurants on either side and an easy walk to the sea. The pool area is nice, and the rooms are comfortable. However, it's the little things that the "VIP" doesn't do well. The toilet seat doesn't stay up unless you hold it up (for males), the wifi is choppy and slow, some plugs don't work, the staff doesn't even attempt to he to know your name or greet you when you walk in the door, but are friendly when you engage them. Breakfast was lack luster at best. The hallway lights turn off on their own, so when you enter into the hallway, you have to flick a switch. Why not just have motion sensors, so you don't feel all creeped out? It's just the little things that make this possibly AMAZING hotel a disappoinment.

"Great Hotel when sight-seeing in Lisbon."
I wanted to go out of my way to review this place because it was pleasant from beginning to end. Note that I am a seasoned European traveler and know what to expect for the star-rating and low price paid. Do NOT think that this is some fancy, newly-renovated Hotel with perfect everything. What it is is a well-situated, safe, clean, "in need of" renovation, excellent hotel in Lisbon. I arrived early by a few hours and since they had our room available, they let me into it, which was a blessing b/c I had been traveling for 18+ hours. They are literally NEXT DOOR to the tourism office and the Tourism Police Station, with a post office across the street and one of the more popular Restaurant areas, Santa Antao. There is a large Metro station with 100 feet of the front door, a large train station around the corner. It's basically a 40 minute, less than 2 euro trip from the Airport via Metro. About 5 min walk to Praca Dom Pedro IV & Figueria, 10 min to the water, and plenty of sights and restaurants all around it. They had a convenient bag checking service if you had a few hours to your plane between check-out and take-off. There's even a pool and restau/bar on the roof with an amazing view that I didn't get to take advantage of b/c it was winter-time. I would certainly recommend this hotel to any like-minded traveler who wants to save money, be centrally-located, and knows what Europe truly has to offer. Lisbon and the Eden Hotel were great!

"Perfect location with wonderful rooftop area"
Perfect location with wonderful rooftop pool and breakfast/bar area. Room was basic but large and had everything we needed (including kitchen we did not use). Room sound proofing was excellent, as was the air conditioning and dark curtains for blacking out city lights, beds were very comfortable. Staff was fabulous, very helpful in directions, bus/tour suggestions, and restaurant suggestion/directions. We could walk -1 or 2 blocks to shops and restaurant areas, as well as 2 beautiful squares. Hop on hop off bus out front, buy tickets at hotel. Plus city buses and underground I think were on the square outside the hotel also. Complimentary breakfast buffet was good, had all the basics needed of a cold buffet with nice coffee and juices. I would definitely stay here again.

"GREAT location, Modest room"
The hotel was perfectly located to see the sights and to use public transit. The location was within a 2 minute walk to Rossio Station which gives great access to the rail system for visiting outlying cities like Sintra. Right across the street from the hotel is the subway and stops for multiple busses. You can easily get anywhere in the city by just walking out the front door of the hotel. The hotel itself was clean and mostly comfortable. The bed could have been a touch bigger and maybe a bit better but, after a long day of siteseeing, it really didn't matter. A nice hot shower greeted us every morning. There was a kitchenette in the room which would have been handy for a longer stay. The hotel offered a breakfast for an additional expense. There was mostly pastries, some cereal, yogurt and coffee. It was a pretty standard European breakfast offering except there were no hot items. No eggs, or bacon/sausage. Personally, I need a little protein in the morning so, the breakfast wasn't for me. The Eden Suites are not luxurious accommodations but, I would stay with them again, just because it's prime location.

2-day stay. Hotel in great location for stepping outside to restaurants, shops, the main street, port etc. Rooftop pool and patio - small but unexpected surprise for City centre hotel. "Best location, rooftop pool and bar, amazing!"
Spent five days and four nights here. Wasn't too sure what to expect for such a reasonable price but we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is in the perfect location, Central to everything you'll want to see in Lisbon. The river and castle are both only 15/20 minute walks away and there are countless restaurants and Museums even closer! The roof top terrace is a great sun trap and has amazing views! The only negative is the dated decor but overall, the room was comfy and homely and cleaned daily. The staff all spoke good English and made us feel welcome. It's also a minutes walk from the Metro and so if you are flying to Lisbon like us, it is easy to get to the hotel via the metro and only cost €1.40 each for a one way ticket! Would definitely use this hotel again :-)

"spring City break in lisbon"
The hotel is ideally situated in the centre of town. Access to all the main tourist sites is very easy either by foot or using public transport [both bus and metro are on the doorstep]. The studio room was quite spacious and had all the facilities we needed. The roof terrace, with small pool, was a delight. Our room was serviced daily and was kept pleasantly clean. The decor and quality of furnishing and bedding was adequate and we felt the apartment represented very good value for money. Lisbon is a great city for a five day break.

"Great location but not luxury"
Positives: Fantastic location, very close to the city centre and therefore numerous restaurants and bars. Also great access to transport - metro, buses, trains and even a funicular tram taking you into Bairro Alto yards from the front door. Room was very spacious. Building is very impressive, and the rooftop bar has great views of the city. Negatives: Slight homeless problem outside the hotel but didn't really cause us any problems. The bed and pillows weren't particularly comfortable. Breakfast was cramped and rather uninspiring - much better options within walking distance. The staff were polite and professional but not overly enthusiastic. Overall, the hotel is functional - not luxury but great for a long weekend because of the location.

"Very well located hotel for exploring the city."
Some of the room facilities are in need of upgrading or replacement but everything worked to our satisfaction. The location is ideal for access from the airport bus, and as a starting point for getting about on foot or by public transport. There is a tourist information office next door & plenty of eating locations close by, plus of course the rooftop bar & terrace. Lisbon itself is a very interesting city with a vast range of museums, galleries and places of interest to explore. Public transport is also excellent & very modestly priced.

"Not really a 4 star, but great location."
Location is great - just one min from Rossio square, < 10 mins from Baixia, and Barrio Alto. Hotel has cool bar on roof, but very little else. Room had small kitchen, clean, but overall condition was poor, damaged walls, cheap furniture, uncomfortable bed. This is not really a 4 star; no restaurant, no fitness centre. Also, the front of the building guves a very bad impression; boarded up shops, homeless persons camp on steps, poor lighting. The only real highlights are the helpful staff and a great location.
