Microtel Inn And Suites Ocala - Ocala

There was garbage left in my garbage can - there was no shampoo in the room and only 1 towel. I can overlook the last 2 items but if there was garbage left and someone did not take rthe time to empty the garbage can - what else did they not clean?

We stopped in on our way to Orlando. It was ok for one night, especially since we got there late. The room smelled musky.

Television is very old model & was not working at all. I was not able to transfer to another room, because none was avaialble. In my entire adult life, I have not stayed in a hotel in USA or outside US without a basic television. Microtel chain was new to me when we first used them about 6-7 yrs ago. It exceeded expectations for such a reasonably priced hotel then, but the facility was relatively new. FROM THE TIME WE CHECKED IN THIS WAS NOT A GRATIFING EXPERIENCE. WHEN WE CHECKED IN THE DESK CLERK ASKED FOR MY CREDIT CARD (I THOUGHT HE WAS VERIFING MY INFORMATION) WHAT HE DID WAS CHARGE ME AGAIN FOR MY ROOMS. AFTER I TOLD HIM THAT THE ROOMS WERE PREPAID HE REALIZED THE MISTAKE. WHEN ASKED TO REVERSE THE CHARGES HE EXPLAINED THAT THE MANAGER HAD […] TO DO THAT AND THAT HE WOULD CALL HIM. AFTER SEVERAL HOURS OF WAITING I WENT DOWN TO SEE WHAT WAS HAPPENING. HE SAID THAT HE CONTACTED THE MANAGER AND THAT HE WOULD BE IN TO FIX THE MISTAKE (HE WAS ON HIS CELL PHONE WITH A PERSONAL CALL) ATER ANOTHER HOUR OR SO I RETURNED TO FIND THAT THERE WAS A SHIFT CHANGE SO I INFORMED THE DESK CLERK OF WHAT WAS GOING ON. HE DID NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT BUT HE ALSO SAID THAT HE WOULD AGAIN CALL THE MANAGER. SO I LEFT IT AT THAT UNTIL MORNING. I CAUGHT UP WITH THE MANAGER IN THE MORNING AND ASKED IF HE HAD REVERSED MY CHARGES AND HE DID NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT, SO AT THIS POINT I AM MAD BECAUSE OF EVERYONE LYING OR JUST NIT WANTING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. LATER ON THAT DAY THE MANAGER TO;D ME THAT HE REVERSED THE CHARGES. AT THIS POINT THEY HAVE ALREADY RUINED MY VACATION WITH MY GIRLFRIEND AND HER 4 KIDS. THIS WAS FUNDS THAT WE WERE COUNTING ON FOR FOOD AND ACTIVITIES. AND I DID NOT GET REFUNDED UNTIL THE DAY BEFORE WE LEFT. THE HOTEL STAFF WAS TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. AT ONE POINT A TV IN THE TEENAGERS ROOM QUIT WORKING AND THEY HAD TO BE MOVED. THEY HAVE BREAKFAST SERVED FROM 6:30 TO 9:00 AND EVERYDAY THERE WAS NOT AMYTHING THERE AFTER 8:30 AM. ALSO MY GIRLFRIEND HAS A HEART CONDITION AMND ALL THE STRESS OF THE WEEK REALLY MADE HER SICK . I had the best service and stay in I don't know how long. What a beautiful room and an awesome staff. Thank you for a great night it made my meeting even better!!!!!!

I have run a marathon in every state ( this weekend was my 64th marathon). I have stayed in many, many motels ( inns, etc) across America in the past ten years. ~ The 1st ri=oom the tv did not work ~ the next room (when I open the door) had folks in it alrewady!! ~ the 3rd , like the others, had NO coffee pot or microwave. *I had mentioned a need for […] one since I get up at five / need a quick breakfast to get going for the marathons. Having to go done into the loby is not cool! ~ NEXT YEAR I will NOT stay and will tell my other running friends to also STAY AWAY from this place! This is the first time I had ever stayed at a Microtel property. I see now where the name comes from because my room was very small, but it was very clean and the space was well utilized. The room smelled like smoke had been covered up with a very strong chemical, and I had requested a non smoking room. I had a migraine already and the odor made it worse. I ran the fan in the room and bathroom and it helped. A shame though because it was a nice room.

I needed a place to sleep for a quick stopover. this was perfect

This hotel was great. A lilttle hard to find if your not familiar with the area but worth the drive. The halls actually smelled clean, the first time for me in Amy hotel price the same or more money a night. Friendly staff verry silent halls no outside noise and a verry good walffe house near by. A hotel at a motel price. Loved it.

wirless internet didn't work at all, clerks had no clue why and didn't care, the breakfast was sub par, and the clientel there was very shady.Not a safe place to be at night. Don't stay at this hotel unless you have no other choices!

We chaecked into the hotel late at night. Ther were 2 guys sitting in the lobby that just gave you a bad feeling. The room was non-smoking but had an odor of stale cigarettes. The sheet were covered with hair. There was a half empty water bottle in our bathroom. No complimentary shampoo and no coffee maker. Can't remember the last time I was in a hotel […] room without a coffee maker. The parking lot is very small and inconvenient. If you drive to the office area to check in, then you will probably have to back out of this parking lot area. It's too small to turn around. great in style and comfort for the money.

I was very disappointed to arrive at the hotel after booking by phone that they had 'over-booked', but then come to find out that there was 'that' room that was available. It just needed to be cleaned. But, within moments, I was handed towels and sheets and taken to the room. The heater had been left on and it was extremely hot. The room was not cleaned […] and I have never had to make up my own bed in a hotel room. The bed had obviously not been made up and we did it ourselves. It was disgusting. We booked a room for a family of 4 with 2 beds, but the room we were given was a suite with one double bed. The hotel itself is newer and in working order. It was just dirty. Read more

Picked because of Hotel.com rating on the internet (4.1 out of 5) and was not disappointed. Great rate for a clean room. Bathroom great. First stay - if all Microtels are the same then I have found a new place for economy, clean, orderly, sleeping.

the manager was about as frendly as a scorpin .the spring break party in the parking lot at mid night was not very well received. And agin at 3 am awakened by noise from the partiers. I mentioned this to the manager as I was leaving at4 am no coment from him or any concern, I guess I expect to much.

The hotel room was nice...but there were tiny bugs in the bathroom. THAT was disgusting.

This was a great find and the price was right on the money.

The room was hot all night. As soon as you walk in to the hotel it had a bad smell and hot. The front desk person. Luis. Had bad manners . The toilet did not work. He said it was working before. The room was hot. He said this Florida . Very bad customer service .

This was my second stay in this chain and I don't remember the room being so small, which is really my only complaint. The desk clerk had taken the time to turn on the A/C in my room so it was cool when my wife and I went in -- cold event! i thought that was very considerate. I asked for an early check in and they were not ready for me, sent me to a dirty room with a full size bed when I asked and paid for a queen size...hated it, I stayed till about 5 and just left. It was a terrible experience.

I have been staying at this hotel when I visit Ocala for the past 5 years. I always had a good stay but this last time I went I really was not comfortable. As soon as I entered a stained toilet greeted me and I just did not feel comfortable after that. I complained about but it was no better after they tidied the next day. Our room was very clean and the a/c worked well. Plenty of room, nice bathroom and shower. Comfortable beds. Would stay here again. Kind of hard to find, just look for the tractor supply sign.

Due to travel delays we did not arrive at the Microtel until close to 3am. The staff were very helpful in getting us checked in quickly. When we awoke after the complimentary breakfast had already been put away, they were very accommodating in finding something for us to eat. Room was very musky. toilet water ran all night. bed was very uncomfortable. When we asked if they had shampoo they said they were all out. Continental Breakfast was nothing to brag about , limited items to choose from again staff member said they were out of some things. This is a nice hotel. Our "suite" was small but comfortable. The television only worked intermittently. Do NOT depend on your GPS - it will not find the address. A better bet is to look for Tractor Supply - the hotel shares the parking lot with them. Even a cousin, who lives in Ocala, couldn't find it.

Staff were extra friendly and the room was very clean. Not all rooms have the amenities they claim to have overall (e.g. refrigerator, coffee maker were not available in the room). Show curtain rod was falling off, but that could've happened anywhere. TV requires 10 min to warm up before giving you a clear picture.
