"Big rooms and convenient location"
We stayed in a suite. One of the AC units was leaking so we asked for a few extra towels but they just changed our room. We ended up getting a bigger room so it worked out well. It's not very clean but definitely acceptable. The bathrooms are okay too. The location is a big plus with the train station and bus stop from the galileo airport very nearby. […] The leaning tower is a 20 minute walk or a 10 minute bus ride. The Plaza nearby has lots of shops. Overall the hotel doesnt look appealing since it's within a small shopping complex but inside it's fine. The breakfast has a large selection and is good. We paid 7 euro for breakfast since it wasn't included but it is definitely worth it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel close to Railway Station"
The hotel is recommended for those arrived by train as located close to Railway Station, with very friendly and professional staff.Genuine Expedia guest review
"not money's worth"
The hotel was old and in need of renovation/ updating. The furniture saw its better days 50 years ago -these were not antiques, just old broken furniture. The entrance to the hotel was easy to miss. It was located in a shopping block alley that looked kind of scary. High season price should be not more than $59, and this would be due to it's location […] which was half a block from the train terminal which was very convenient. At over $100 a night that we paid, this was the worst hotel that I ever got for this price .The breakfast buffet was definitely the best of all the hotels I stayed in but it doesn't compensate for the price we paid for the room. "Great for a one-night stay"
We were only in Pisa for one night and Hotel La Pace fit our needs perfectly. It's very close to the train station in a quiet location, within walking distance to the Tower, shopping, restaurants, etc. The staff could not have been more helpful. The rooms were a bit small, but very comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"So convenient for train travelers"
This hotel was perfect for us. We toured Tuscany by train and this hotels is 200 meters from train station. The staff was excellent, spoke fluent English and even let me speak to them in my limited Italian which was very nice. Rooms were small but comfortable. There are plenty of markets and restaurants in the area. The only downside was that the Leaning […] Tower is about a 20-30 minute walk but you get to see some great things along the way (cool streets, churches, shops, restaurants, etc.) and also gives you an excuse to burn off some extra calories. "Think twice before staying here!"
OK, so the location is convenient to the train station and the hotel staff is very nice and helpful. That's the good points. For the bad, let's start with security. The location is off a alley in an area inhabited by groups of idle men, the hotel corridors are dark, there is no deadbolt to the door, or safe in the room. The hotel is décor is circa 1950's […] and the walls are paper thin. You'll hear everything not only from the rooms next door but the floors above and below. And when I say everything, I mean everything. This is not a place for sleeping like a baby. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for the price, very old hotel."
The lobby smell like bathroom all the time, room was ok and clean. Shower has rust around.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel has a good location if you need something closer to train station. It's only a couple of min. walking. Breakfast is good. Bed/room is clean. I think that the room is painted in too dark color which make it look old and dirt. We did have problem of mosquito (this is in December!), although only one I guess. "Decent Hotel close to the train station"
The hotel was very conveniently located to the train station which was perfect as we arrived at 3AM from Rome. The bus station to get to the airport was also right there and a quick cheap way to the airport as well. The hotel had no wifi in the rooms and even downstairs after liking them on Google, LinkedIN and facebook I had very shoddy signal. "Good hotel near the train station"
The hotel is conveniently located near the train station. Good location. Safe, clean and convenient. About fifteen minutes walk to leaning tower of Pisa . Please walk, don't take the bus. The walk is so beautiful. Hotel has been in business for more than hundred years, so don't expect modern, new rooms. It is little bit dated. The shower is, literally […] , 18 inches by 24 inches. No room to even stretch your hands completely. Breakfast is great. We reached Pisa in the evening. Slept in the room and left in the morning. Bottom line, don't expect luxury, just a basic place to sleep, shower and leave. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Northern Toscany - Pisa and Luca"
The hotel had a great location since we were traveling by train...2 blocks max. The staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. The hotel was also walking distance to all the important sites in Pisa and 30 minutes by train to Luca. We got referred to a couple of neighborhood restaurants that were tops, great quality of food and reasonable prices […] for Italy. Their "house red wine" was just fantastic, and the staff was great. The place was full of "locals" and a few like us that like to venture into the culture and customs of the area. We had a great couple of days even with the partial rain during our visit. "Clean comfortable hotel close to the train station"
This hotel is within walking distance of the train station. This was my first experience with a pedestrian alley (Galleria B) off the street so I overshot the place on my first attempt. It is also reasonably close to The Field of Miracles (where you'll find the Leaning Tower), and the Tower was visible from my room. I'm a walker and easily walked to […] the Field of Miracles. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They gave us an excellent dinner recommendation. "Good, solid hotel, close to station"
This hotel is literally only half a block from the raileay station and within walking distance of the leaning tower. There are a couple of decent restaurants within a block or two if you don't want to go far for dinner. We had one of the bigger rooms overlooking the courtyard/garden so it was nice and quiet. The included breakfast was one of the best […] we have seen, full bacon, eggs etc as well as continental pastries and cheeses and cereals. "Very convenient/ AC a big plus"
We stayed here for 4 nights and chose the hotel due to its proximity to the train station. It is literally accros the street, on the left. The staff was incredible. I made a mistake on my dates I booked by a day and they accomadated me with no penalties. Super friendly and helpful. Room was very quiet. A decrepit depressing dump that needed a facelift 20 years ago. Inadequate air conditioning. Very sketchy neighborhood. Pleasant helpful staff made up somewhat for an otherwise foul experience. And way overpriced.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Old work deco"
The location was good being next to the terrminal and easy walking distance to the sights (tower). The breakfast brunch was great! Hotel is a good value if you are flying in or out of Pisa airport and want to spend a night there. Nice breakfast buffet. 1.50Euro short train ride to airport. Friendly staff. "Great location with helpful staff"
Couldn't have had a better location. Right next to the train. Near restaurants. And only 20 min to the leaning tower (which you don't want to sleep near anyway....too touristy). As we did a day trip to cinque terre and line to Lucca being near the train was awesome. The rooms are sparse but very clean. Good ac. Great breakfast spread - eggs and bacon, […] pastries, yogurt, cereal etc with a good coffee machine. Staff was so helpful. They printed train schedules for us and gave good restaurant recs. They even helped me get a cab to the airport even when I spent my last night there at a friend's apartment. The area wasn't sketch at all like a review I read and was weary of. Great find! "Great hotel, great location!"
We almost missed the hotel because of its location inside a little mall area, just a couple minutes' walk from Pisa Centrale train station. By the way one can take the train to or from the airport in about 5 minutes for less than 2 Euros. Having found the slightly hidden hotel entrance, we came to really like the location and the facilities. Our room […] was large, quite in need of a facelift, but clean and functional in every way. The free Wi-Fi was a bit different than other places in terms of how to connect, but the staff patiently walked both my wife and me through the connect procedure. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with a very large selection of hot and cold items, and machine made coffee drinks (cappuccino was not bad at all). The breakfast area is also the hotel bar by night, and it appeared from signs we saw that the bar offers a good variety of at least appetizer food. The walk to the Tower and Cathedral was 20-25 minutes and seemed quite safe day or night. We found a nice restaurant with sidewalk patio seating in the large piazza just a block or so from the hotel, and there are many such places as near or as far from the hotel as one cares to venture. I would definitely use this hotel again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Look past first impression"
Wow, hotel inside is not the hotel on the outside. This hotel is in a plaza and there is no direct access from your car to hotel front door. You must walk down sidewalks past some locals drinking beer and burning trash. The hotel on the inside is a breath of fresh air. The breakfast is the best one I've had in a hotel. They must have a pastry chef on […] staff; pastries were delicious and fresh and still warm from the oven. I loved the self-serve coffee machine. Hotel offers paid parking-take it! Well worth the 13 euros and peace of mind of vehicle in a safe spot. Plus, hotel let us keep Jeep there the next day after check out while we took 20 minute stroll to Tower. Plenty of restaurants in area within walking distance for dinner. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The room was more a suite. It was very spacious and clean. The bathroom was also very large. The room had these large windows that open, so cool. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. We arrived before check in time, and they let us go ahead and check in. The breakfast was fabulous! I don't have anything but good to say about this hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
Worse hotel during our 3 weeks European self guided tour across 7 countries. Small room, dirty. My wife refused to take a shower in the bathroom's shower sink. The wall is not soundproof and there is no deadbolt lock on the door, you can hear people talking loud and walking in the hallway. "Dreadful and smelly"
The hotel was very close to the train station. The first thing that meets you is the dreadful sewer smell in the lobby from the nearby toiletes. We were not given complete info for the wi fi do we had to ask again gor further passswards to be able to log. We asked for double beds so they changed our room to another one which had no wi fi reception. […] The room and linen smelled. The beds were very uncomfortable that we really could not sleep. It was rated 4 stars by Expedia but hotel is rating itself 3 stars and we would rate it much less because there is no compromise on cleanliness. We could not wait to just spend that night and leave first thing in the morning. We actually regretted wasting our time there. Nothing impressive about the hotel or town. La Pace was by far the cheapest hotel we stayed in on our trip but it was also the most out dated. The lobby and front staff were very nice and the room was clean, the a/c worked great and there was hot water- but it felt like you were sleeping on a bed that was really really old. The pictures make it look a lot more updated than it felt. The shower […] is tiny but the water is hot (although went hot a cold a few times). We couldn't figure out the free internet. "Great hotel for a budget traveler"
This place is a bit of a mixed bag. Its in a slightly dirtier area of Pisa (right near the train station - makes for easy transportation though) and doesn't look like much itself. However, everything in the room worked (including the AC!), the staff was generally very nice and easy to deal with, and the included breakfast was quite good as free breakfasts […] go. My main complain about the room would be the mattress - appeared new but very low quality, could feel the springs etc. - but it did the job. Overall, if I wanted a very cheap place to stay and didn't plan on spending much/any time in the room, I would definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good Choice for Stopover in Pisa"
This hotel is two blocks away from the train station and offers a shuttle to the airport for 3 euros. It is also walking distance (a bit of a walk, but picturesque) from the leaning tower. There was an elevator, air conditioning (a bit weak), TV (one of the two in our two rooms didn't work, but we didn't bother to ask to get it fixed) and wifi (which […] took some fiddling with by the desk clerk) and a mini-fridge with reasonably priced snacks. There was a nice big bathroom, but the water pressure was a bit weak. Desk clerks were very helpful about showing us how to get around with a map and getting the wifi to work, and referred us to a good, inexpensive restaurant a block away, which gave us all sorts of extras. "Hotel La Pace in Pisa"
This is a wonderful clean and next to the train station hotel. The only compliant we could possibly have was that the water pressure and temperature regulator in the shower were lacking. Otherwise, under 5 minutes to the train station, happy hour every night and a wonderful breakfast. Most of all, the staff was amazing and went out of their way to assist […] with anything. "Breakfast Great; Loiterers, not so much."
The La Pace is older which means worn edges and smaller rooms. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is superb. The walk to the tower and Duomo is pleasant.
