"Nice hotel but....."

I stayed here on my trip to Alaska with my whole family. Being a diamond member I was upgraded which was nice. The staff was nice. The room was large and clean. The pool was nice and the kids loved it. However two issues. First it would be really nice to have more TV stations or movie selections. Secondly and more importantly. The breakfast is just not at all good.
"Very nice, clean hotel."

I loved the Homewood Suites in Anchorage. It was very clean, new looking in fact. The bed was comfortable, room was very spacious, and lobby and pool were really nice. The free breakfast and evening meals were a great touch. Only problem, they couldn't keep the breakfast hot, so unless I got it when it just came out, it was always cold. Other than the cold breakfast, the only thing that keeps me from giving it a 5 was the full garbage can under the sink in my room that had a baby's diaper in it.

I recently stayed at this Homewood Suites and was very happy with the hotel and stay. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice and plentiful. I was very pleased with the bed, very comfortable. Great location, easy access to downtown. I travel to Anchorage on business once or twice a year, I will definitely stay here again.
"Great Place To Stay!"

This hotel was located only a few blocks from the airport and only about a 15 min. drive to downtown. The breakfasts included eggs, sausage, fruit, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal and sweets. Mon.- Thurs. they also had a nice dinner with wine and beer. The room was perfect for 3 women and we liked having a kitchen. You can also walk to Fridays and a couple other chains. We came back and stayed a total of 3 days between driving to Seward and Denali. I would chose this hotel again.
"Free dinner, free breakfast, convenient location, a bit pricy"

So it seemed like most hotels in Anchorage were near or over $200 during the summer season. This hotel was no exception. However, when you add in the value of a free dinner, wine and hot breakfast, it was not a bad deal considering. The location is not in a beautiful area, it is in the heart of Anchorage. There was a large dirt lot next to the hotel, but a nice green tree area on another side. This was just a stopover for us to catch a flight to Juneau after travelling to Valdez, Cordova and Whittier via ferry. When we arrived in the evening, we were surprised to be provided dinner, wine and freshly baked cookies. I had forgotten that dinner was provided on certain nights (I think Monday through Thursday). It was not great dining, but it was good enough and saved us about $80-100 we would have likely paid at a nearby Anchorage restaurant for dinner, wine and dessert. The hot breakfast was decent with a waffle station, good bacon, an egg dish, fruit, coffe, tea and so-so orange "juice." All rooms are suites with all kitchen amenities you would expect, clean and very comfortable bed. You just have to suck it up a bit to stay in Anchorage as it is pricy for what you get but, aside from that, this hotel was a nice place to stay. Staff was also very friendly and attentive.
"Clean, convenient, comfortable"
A little pricey, but the alternatives are equally expensive. The breakfasts are really good (reindeer sausage is common -- tell the kids it's the ones that wouldn't go to sleep when Santa said to). The dinner M-Th is also pretty good, so the price is much more affordable when you take the meals into account. Alaska's wildlife and views are amazing, and I saw a moose out behind the hotel the last day I was there. We also went down to Portage and I was working up by Eklutna. The wife and I will definitely be back for more sightseeing. The hotel also offers shuttle service to several places -- downtown, Walmart to name a couple. This is a huge convenience especially if you're working and have a wife with a shopping addiction :-) Be sure to check out the market downtown, that's where the best stuff at the best prices are.
I would highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are clean and quiet. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. Pool area was clean. Breakfast each morning including waffles! Overall great seven week stay.
"Good choice for a 2 night stay in Anchorage."

Husband & I had no problem finding the hotel from the airport in our rental car. Check in was quick and easy and we had a room on the 3rd floor overlooking the back woods. Our room consisted of two rooms, one living room with kitchen, the other was bedroom/bathroom. Our bed was comfy too. We stayed two nights as we wanted to spend one day in Anchorage exploring the city. Breakfast was included with our stay and there was a pretty good choice of foods. One evening we even got to enjoy the spa/pool which was indoors and heated. The drive into down town was maybe 10 mins the most and there is a Walmart just down the street to stock up on supplies.
"best choice you could make"

We stayed at the Holmwood for 4 nights pre cruise. We were first time visitors to Alaska, and found the staff most helpful , the breakfast very welcome and the shuttle service efficient and punctual and because of these extras the hotel does not suffer from not being in the centre of Anchorage. We did not take the opportunity to have the evening meal as we were busy out and about seeing the fantastic sights. The bed was VERY comfortable one thing though, the local moose was a no show , but not the hotels fault (obviously) but it would have been nice to see him .All in all one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. Other hotels could learn from your hospitality and friendliness.

We love this hotel, the room was big and clean, the pillow smells not clean, but bathroom was clean and comfortable with everything we need, coffee great TV and large couch? The breakfast wasn't include, so, it was Desapoiment!
