"Good for the price, slightly out of town."
Decent room for the level of hotel/motel. We were however impressed with the morning breakfast... fresh waffles! Manager was nice, freeway was near, but town was not (bring a bike or expect to drive to get to anything other than the burger king or highway gas station.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Adequate Nice Place"
What one learns is that when on the road for the most part, one does not need a place with the very newest and greatest amenities. This is clean and comfortable place to spend the evening alone after the plays at the Shakespeare Festival.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"out of town"
Looked for a place that took dogs and this fit the bill. Got downstairs room that was adequate. Dog and hubby were happy. Needed to drive to town which was a hassle. Breakfast was all carbs so we went out to eat. Would stay again with dog since price was rightGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean, firm beds, good airconditioning, nice staff"
Very clean motel with nice firm beds. Very quiet. Staff was very helpful, especially in finding a personal embroidered pillowcase of my granddaughter's. The location is nice, with open fields behind the building. We experienced very very hot weather, but the air conditioners kept us cool even though we were on the top (second) floor. The pool was fun, […] safe, and adequate in size. My only discomfort was moving past a desk to get to bathroom. The chair was a little large, so when someone sat there, it was just a little uncomfortable to go to the closet and bathroom. Nice maid service and a good, but simple, continental breakfast. "e.g. "Great hotel for a family""
Nothing fancy but beds were comfortable. Pool was great. Breakfast was great. Would definitely stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
the gentlemen at the desk, Mo, was pleasant and courteous. only complaint was eating breakfast in small room with "fox news" on television. show more common sense than to add to the polarization of american people and politics. this shows the managements true colors. would not stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worn and damaged linens and covers"
The room was clean, except for the linens, blankets, and covers, which were worn, stained, had holes in them. Service was good, so a small investment in new linens and blankets would really upgrade the experience. The beds were also old and worn, but comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The manager was remarkably helpful, friendly and attentive. Breakfast was ready at 6am. The room was the best that you might expect. Wifi included. Dog was comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review

"OK for a stop-over"
Not a place I'd spend multiple nights in but fine if it's just a stop over on your way elsewhere. Within 5 minutes of downtown Ashland by car.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"No frills fits the bill"
Very convenient and cheap. Absolutely the most basic accommodations. Clean and friendly. I did, however, hear the highway noise, and it affected my sleep some.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Convenient to Interstate 5. Was pleased to find the hotel so easily. Room was exceptionally clean and comfortable for a reasonable price. TV picture was not the greatest, but I'm not a big TV viewer anyway. It was a good springboard to the town of Ashland. Nothing is far away in Ashland, so proximity to activities was OK. Not walking distance, but an […] easy drive. For a budget-minded traveler, this is a good option with a Continental breakfast included. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"More protein in the breakfast, please."
I would recommend more protein for the breakfast, such as eggs or yogurts. All the foods were starch and sugars.Genuine Expedia guest review
"pleasant surroundings, no congestion or traffic"
OK for a couple, but rather tight for a family with 2 children who need to be in room with parents. Our rooms faced a big field, very pleasant, but the parking was on the other side of the building & the only access was to carry luggage down several stairs or walk past the pool through an unlocked gate (unsafe for children).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Destination Stop over"
Adequate hotel for stop over sleeping but wouldn't want to remain in the room for much more than that. Not within walking distance of anything interesting. Excellent range of TV channel choices. Tiny bathroom. Adequately quiet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Sleep in your car instead"
I would not wish this hotel on my worst enemy. Poor service and accomodations. Very unfriendly, unprofessional front desk staff. Uncaring and unresponsive management.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Econo Lodge Ashland"
Although the motel appeared older, the rooms were clean. The pillows were decent and the bed was reasonably comfortable. I liked the fact that it included a microwave and refrigerator. The Wifi was a must for my business trip. A decent continental breakfast and friendly staff. I would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Won't be back."
This was our second visit this year. There won't be a third. The first room we were assigned hadn't been cleaned. The second rooms carpet was dirty. The sheets looked wrinkled...almost as if they hadn't been washed (I'm assuming they had been because they didn't smell bad). The fan/light combo in the bathroom made a horrible racket when turned on. Some […] of the bath linen had stains. I complained at checkout, but the man at the desk didn't seem to be interested. You get what you pay for. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"I shall return!"
I was very satisfied with the location to Ashland and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Not within walking distance but an easy short drive. My room was very quiet considering its proximity to the I-5. The free breakfast was more than adequate. The motel has an Oregon Travel Centre on site filled with friendly, helpful people who will enlighten eager […] tourists. The owners of the Econo Lodge are friendly and accommodating. Any concerns are dealt with immediately! I felt very safe. It is not in a neighbourhood as such. As mentioned previously, I have no hesitation in saying that I will return to this property in the future. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice Motel for a Road Trip in the US Northwest"
08/22/14 Mukund T Mumbai (Bombay), India
The place is just off the exit on I5. Check in is efficient even at night. Rooms functionally adequate and got a good sleep. We forgot our passport bag and they had kept it very carefully and were very helpful about giving it back...nice memory of the human touch.

My wife and I and another couple booked two rooms for two nights for the Shakespeare Festival, based on its low price and overall high ratings. On Sunday July 27th we left in the morning to take in shows and the Ashland attractions. We put a "Do not Disturb" card in the key slot because we did not need maid service. When we returned Sunday night my iPhone charger was missing. We looked for the charger and checked for other missing items. We did not find the charger and nothing else was taken. When we packed up on Monday morning the charger was still missing so before leaving I reported it to the owner, whose name is Mo. He sent someone (probably his daughter) to look for it but it was not found. I called Mo on Thursday morning to find out if the charger had been recovered. During this conversation I stated that the phone was "stolen" rather than "missing". Mo did not dispute this or react to it in any way and told me that he would investigate and report back to me. Since I did not hear from Mo, I called again on Friday afternoon, and this time I spoke with Mo's wife. She seemed to know nothing about the theft so I went through the details with her and told her that I had talked with Mo the prior morning. She took a message for Mo, which was, "What are you going to do about the stolen iPhone charger?" Mo's promised a return call that afternoon or the next morning. That was two days ago and still no call. So apparently Mo does not consider the theft of an iPhone charger worthy of his time. It s clear that he does not want to deal with employee theft, or quite possibly, family theft. We did see what appeared to be two of his children, probably in the age range of 12-15, with free rein over the property. Could the "Do not Disturb" sign have been too much of a temptation to one of his free-roaming kids? The theft of a $20 charger should not be that difficult a problem for a motel owner to deal with, but in this case, Mo has failed miserably. How are you going to trust him and his employees (and children) after such an incident?

Small room made it hard for 2 people to move around. narrow parking space - could barely open doors. Sign says to pull cars in, but not enough room to get large bag between cars. Continental breakfast is fine, and Burger King is behind motel.
"Full Of Surprises"
07/07/14 Brian S Oroville, California
It was 4th of July weekend, and we had no reservations. Ashland was the least place we expected to find a hotel, so we were really surprised that this hotel had rooms available. The hotel was nice, but it could've been better. The building was nice, and it was set on a nice mountain background. The view from the balcony was nice, the room and bathroom was nice clean, and there was even a swimming pool. Breakfast was good. There was fruit, coffee, orange juice, and guests could make their own waffles. I do have a few complaints though. $99 was a bit expensive. IDK if this was because of 4th of July weekend, or if they always charge that much. We didn't like that there weren't any restaurants in the area, there was only a Burger King. The rooms had a menu with room service. We thought they cook the food at the hotel, but it comes from restaurants, who cater to the hotel. I tried to order some food over the phone, and couldn't get a hold of them. There was a machine, and they started asking me some weird questions about medicine and hospitals. Completely unrelated to ordering food. I got confused, and hung up. The lady at the front desk told us, the nearest restaurant is 2 miles away, so we went hungry that night. I think they should make it, so you can connect directly to restaurant staff, or the hotel staff should place the order for you, because I could not figure out how to do it. The so called "room service", needs some serious improvement. That was really the only issue we had. Other than that, the hotel was great, but whoever designed their stair system, needs to be fired.
"Good deal; lousy breakfast"
07/07/14 KimJ_in_Oregon Hillsboro, Oregon
The location is good in that it is right off of the freeway and a short drive to downtown Ashland. The hotel is older (dated) but is kept clean and was a good price for the age and location. The towels were worn but the water for the shower was hot. The staff was efficient, if inpersonal. My daughters liked that the front desk had black jelly beans. In general, this hotel would get a "Very Good" from me because of the price point and cleanliness. Unfortunately, the breakfast bumped it down to "Average". We came in near the end of breakfast (~15 minutes before they closed). Almost everything was gone. There was a waffle machine but the batter was separating when I looked at it. The fruit was gone and no one refilled it. There were other empty containers as well. I was left with a choice of an English muffin or cereal. I resigned myself to cold cereal, only to find that they were also out of milk. So, breakfast was dry cereal and a glass of fake orange juice. So, my recommendation is to stay here for a cheap rate but eat out!
"Nice stay with friendly staff"
07/07/14 Joan P Denver, Colorado
We stayed for 4 nights to see the Shakespeare festival in Ashland. The room was clean and the price was very reasonable. The pool was cool and clean. The staff was very friendly and always available. There was fresh fruit every morning and the breakfast staff was helpful.

We decided to try this motel because of some of the better reviews, but should have paid attention to the less flattering ones. The rooms were a minimum of amenities and not that nice. No coffee makers available in the rooms or in the office. The bed was not comfortable and the bath/shower area was so small you could hardly turn around in it. It was kind of the "ick" factor besides (mineral deposits and mold.) The continental breakfast was fair and located in a dilapidated building. We will never stay there again.

I stayed here for two nights during the Shakespeare Festival and overall it was an okay room. Not too bad of a commute from there to downtown Ashland. When my friends and I went to bed we stripped all the sheets noticing they were either dirty or very worn in some spots. There was no extra blankets or pillows so we had to go to the front desk and ask. Most of the workers there, although all were very nice, had minimal people skills. The best thing about the hotel was the air conditioning, towels, and watermelon at breakfast. Overall we got what we paid for and my friends and I enjoyed our stay.
"Another Great "Choice"!"

Just a few miles out of Medford, Ashland is a delightful town with great restaurants and wonderful boutique type shopping! Some of it is upscale and pricy so I was happy thst we saved a lot on our hotel! Econo Lodge is right at the top of Ashland. It is clean, comfortable, and well maintained, free of debris, and a quiet place to stay. If you are too weary to drive to the main town, you can just go to Burger King next door. Free wi-fi, plenty of parking, and a great breakfast, way beyond the required continental breakfast. Belgium waffles, freshly baked muffins, and sliced fruit was added to the standard fare. You can do your laundry as you enjoy breakfast. A definite recommend! Oh, bring your own hair dryer.
"Worst customer service."
03/25/14 faith000 Portland, Oregon
The price is low but still too much for the room since it is small, average cleanliness but very, very bad customer service, worst I have encountered so far. We were planning to extend our stay but bec of our experience with the customer service, we just looked for another place.I actually want to just cancel our reservation, but bec we were too tired, we just stayed.
