On arrival we were met by a young receptionist who treated us with a cold reception. She appeared to be frustrated and unhappy. Totally unsuited for the position she held. The accommodation however was excellent.

Older property lobby grand well cared for. Our room was small. may have been in older part of complex. Hallway area worn, carpet dirty. Room small. Beds comfortable, clean, felt cramped. No noise insulation from 3rd floor (we were on 2nd). Expensive when u have to pay room & resort fees.

This hotel is right at Mammoth Ski Resort. It is beautiful! I plan to return when I'm not working and stay there. So much to do year round. A very nice touch was the DVD of the history of the mountain. Really enjoyed watching it.

Rooms do NOT justify the price charged. Must be based on the view. Carpet ripped right when you walk in. One of the smallest double bed rooms I've ever stayed at. Amenities? Coffee under nightstand was one? Iron in closet? Beautiful area. Won't re-stay at this hotel.

We did not realize the hotel is located right at the bottom of the ski lifts. So it's high on the mountain. Blue lips and the works! Room was small but cozy, beds comfortable and everything but the hair dryer was working. Inn has reasonably priced food, breakfast buffet was nice.

Hotel was billed as pet friendly but was nothing of the sort. We arrived for our stay only to find out there would be a $50 per pet fee and a $200 deposit. Neither of these charges was mentioned up front.

While the lodge was consistent with a resort type hotel, the rooms were a ski dorm, nothing more. I got the feeling I was in a dorm rather than a hotel. Location was great. Close to downtown and major routes. Mammoth Mountain is beautiful... and travelling thru to Yosemite about 45 minutes away is even more spectacular.

The stay was great, very comfortable bed and a great sleep. We were initially put in the east wing overlooking the laundry in a very hot room near rooms full of young mountain bikers who were sharing and noisy. We asked to move and the staff were very helpful moving us to a much better room with a balcony, we ended up staying an extra night as a result so we could go biking, if we hadn't been moved we would have left after one night. The only big negatives are the jacuzzi and pool area - very run down and in need of an update and deep clean. The shuttle service provided as part of your compulsory 'resort fee' is inconsistent and not that reliable. We ended up driving into town more often than we wanted as a result of waiting too long and staff telling us in correct waiting times. that was disappointing, The main resort town is very over priced and poor value but if you can get out of this and into Mammoth main town then there are good restaurants and bars to head to. Can't beat the surroundings, its beautiful.

This hotel was well kept, but showed it's age and didn't have the touches of TLC that would take it up a notch. For example, faucet in bathroom sprayed sideways and was gushing water. Clearly, any maid service attendant would notice this, yet they still rented the room? Visited in the off season (summer) and cannot imagine fitting all my winter snow/ski car in the room as it was quite small and not designed with space for this. Disappointing because when people don't have a spot to put their gear at night it likely ends up on wood furnishings, etc. that get ruined. Just a little more strategic upkeep would take this spot to the next level. Customer Service was great.

This was an awesome room. It was pet friendly, and the room layout was awesome. There was a bed on the main floor and on the second floor. I recommend trying out the pool. THe pool was a perfect temperature.

Overall the hotel was very nice and well kept. But the reason it wouldn't get a 5/5 is because the double loft that we stayed in was REALLY hot upstairs! We ended up just putting comforters on the floor downstairs and sleeping there because it was so warm upstairs (which I guess wouldn't have been a problem in the winter but not comfortable at all for summer months!) I would stay there again but def would not book a loft room.

Hotel, on the whole, was a disappointment. The location is fabulous. The lobby is nice. Check-in process was not very efficient or professional. The room was very tired and cramped. The bathroom needs some attention to make it look less than 50 years old. The HVAC controls are apparently original to the hotel that is 60 years old. They are tucked away down by the floor and are not 21st century intuitive. Yes, you do have to get on your hands and knees to work the controls. Having a flashlight handy will help. Finally, restaurant service was poor. The first night, two hours after checking in, they were not able to charge dinner to the room, saying I hadn't been at the hotel long enough to be "in the computer". The following morning, we went down for breakfast at 9:45 after calling the front desk and being told that breakfast was available until 10:00. There was no host in the restaurant, no one else on the floor, no one in the kitchen apparently (because I went back to the kitchen and called out for someone's attention. I was later told that the one person on duty (does one person really host, take orders and cook the breakfast??????) was taking a bathroom break when I was there. For the quality of the room and service received, this hotel is overpriced. The fabulous location does not overcome terrible management and guess experience. Will not be returning to this property.

The hotel is dated and as a previous review stated, those on the first floor (400 series rooms) in the East wing, it is extremely noisy. Everyone entering from the garage can be heard. The hotel staff was fabulous. There are multiple hot tubs, but once again, dated. There were stains on the tile and some of the tile was buckled.

It's a good option for a 2-days trip to Yosemite considering a long drive from Sunnyvale. We drove to Mammoth early Saturday morning and arrived at Mammoth around 3pm, the trip was long but easy to drive, no crooked road. The next day we leave early to Yosemite, the scenery was amazing, we experienced 4 seasons in 3hrs along the trip, and started our hiking around 10am, hiked the Vernal fall and Nevada fall. It was a good choice if you want to experience something more.

The main lobby was nice, and the counter check in staff was cordial. The room was a bit small for 2 queen beds, but it was clean, and we noted that there were complimentary ear plugs. The bathroom was small but clean, however the area above the shower head had seen better days and was not maintained to the level of the rest of the room. The shower head penetrated the wall at about 5'-7" above the floor so anyone over 5'-5" in height has to stoop to get their head under it. The beds and pillows were awesome, I can't say enough about them. I was tired and sore when I hit the sack and woke the next day rested and refreshed. Over all, a decent place to stay for the price.

The Yoder house wing is a bit run down. Found ourselves driving down into town to eat because the main lodge or anywhere to get anything wss closed after 5pm. In the middle of winter I am sure everything would be open. But we stayed in April. If I had to do it over again in spring I would stay in town.

Picked up rental equipment and lift tickets right in the lobby. Right across from the bottom of the gondola and main lodge. Went with my son who isn't picky on rooms. All we needed to be was close to the lifts and a big screen TV. We had both. It's just as easy to go back to your room as it is to stop at the main lodge.

The Mammoth Mountain Inn may be conveniently located, however, our accommodations were horrible. DO NOT ACCEPT ROOMS 451-466. These rooms are attached to the indoor parking and everyone used the hall as a passageway. Hotel guests checking in after 11pm were RUDE and could be heard going through the hallway until about 2am, when it finally became quieter. Even a band with equipment just walked through (I followed them) at 12:45am. Pets are allowed and we ended up with a howling dog next door. We had to record it to get out of our last night's stay. Ski tuning rooms were only available to ski teams, so if we were to stay again I would use the ironing board. Instead of an enjoyable 4 night stay we ended up with two nights of no sleep and leaving early. My family skis EVERY week-end throughout California and Colorado during the winter season and this was by far the worst hotel accommodations we have ever had. I will not stay there again and will try Tamarack or Juniper when returning.

The bar restaurant didn't have enough waiters and my son ordered mac and cheese on Wed night March 26tha dn he got pasta with sauce, very weird. Other than that the food was excellent, service a bit lacking because of storm, or not enough staff. Overall the food was amazing.

Two minute walk to the chair lift. The double bed option will be located in the yodler Hoff wing which is older and kinda dirty. Although the beds are new and very comfortable! Overall a nice place. Next time I would upgrade to stay in the main hotel which is much nicer. Fyi. Expect to pay an additional $20+ per night in resort fees

This could be a pleasant hotel. It is in an excellent location, just steps from the lifts. Unfortunately its a run down hotel with no investment, the building is getting old and it could do with a renewal. Although I pre-paid my room I was charged over $80 for some "resort fee" when I checked-in.

As most of the reviews say the hotel is dated. But, it is very well maintained and comfortable. The beds and bedding are new, comfortable and clean. There are new flat screen TVs with an excellent selection of channels and the wifi works great. The front desk staff were helpful and efficient. The maids did an excellent job. For my discounted midweek rate I thought the hotel was a very good value. I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at the Yodeler. I am ambivalent about asking Mammoth Mountain Inn to update their old rooms. They are definitely no frills, but as a result, it is a bargain compared to Juniper Springs or the Village.

I've been to Mammoth many times since 2009, and I've stayed in places ranging from hotels to condos near the village base. I've stayed at the Mammoth Inn before, so this stay wasn't a surprise. I like Mammoth Inn and what I get for the price. The employees were extremely courteous and helpful as always. This stay stands out somewhat, because I have trouble sleeping with noises - like creaking or people walking above me, etc. This time, for some reason, the people staying above us were moving all night long. For anyone who has stayed here, you know that the walls seem/are very thin, so you're going to hear noises from your next door (and above) neighbors. Anyway, staff were so friendly and offered me an upgrade and room on a higher floor. [To be clear, I wasn't looking for a handout. I just wanted a different room.] I'm sure the type of upgrade they offered me cannot be accommodated when the hotel is full, or perhaps on weekends, but the courteousness of staff, and the fact that it was offered without me asking, just stood out for me this time. As far as the rest of the stay, if you like to ski or board, the location is great. Rooms seem to be invariably clean. And the little general store inside the hotel with food and coffee is a big plus. I'd stay here again, especially during the week.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Mammoth Mtn Inn. We would definitely come back next season. I liked how they had everything at the lodge. You can get your lift tickets, gear and lessons(recommended) all in one place. Looking forward to next season.

Wife and I were celebrating my 30th birthday. The staff (who didn't know it was my birthday) at Mammoth Mountain Inn was great, I specifically remember Tyler going above and beyond on all 3 nights we were there. At one point, he even ensured that we got on the next shuttle going to the Village and we weren't even yet in the lobby. His attitude was extremely pleasant even though some of our questions were unbearably "touristy," "self-explanatory" and high-maintenance in general (I'm not pointing any fingers for such questions, but I mentioned I had a wife, right?). Anyway, I can't wait to get back there...it is quite literally "Resort Style Living"

Upon checking in, I was surprised by a mandatory 20 dollar resort fee for parking and internet! Later I found out that the 20 dollars is per night on top of the 200 dollar deposit for incidentals, which cannot be used as a credit for your room charges. When I got into the hotel room, there was hair in the sink and bobby pins all over the ground. I called up to the desk and was told that I couldn't change rooms- no reason given. The breakfast menu inside the room had incorrect prices. When I told the restaurant manager about the menu, she denied its existence and then blamed house keeping. The last Morning it took an hour to get eggs and toast. We tried to put it on the room and our server told us that there was an issue and the front desk told her they were too busy to fix it. We ended up just paying cash. When I checked out, the front desk asked me to pay again for the breakfast. After telling them that I paid it in cash, they told me that they needed to charge my card and when the paperwork caught up they would credit my account. After refusing to allow the charges, they called the restaurant and got a busboy to flip through receipts til they found my paid check. The location was great, but other than that it was a waste of money for the quality of service and amenities. Save yourself some money and headache and just stay somewhere in town by the gondola.
