Georgetown Mountain Inn - Georgetown

The hotel was great. Wi-fi code didn't work, but the place was so beautiful that I didn't need it. The area is so wonderful -- mountains completely surrounding the town.

This was a nice variation to the chain hotels. The rooms are as pictured. Living in Colorado this would be a place we would stay in again if the opportunity came our way. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Overall great experience. It is a bit of an older hotel, but well kept and clean. Staff was very responsive and polite. Outdoor Hottub was nice and the location was convenient. Right next to the Alpine Inn which was a great place to eat as well. Would happily stay there again.

Front desk area was very nice and had great service. Older hotel but clean rooms. Hot tub needs help but pool was excellent! Don't expect a big breakfast. Coffee, juice and muffins was all that they offered. I would definitely stay there again for a short stay.

Perfect Inn for my son & I to be within striking distance of all ski areas. Also, had to work out of Denver the latter part of the week; so, perfect for that a well. As long as you're not high maintenance, the Georgetown Inn is just fine. We shall return to it in the future.

Hotel has very friendly and helpful staff and this is the only one good thing about it. Beds and pillows are very uncomfortable. I stayed there 2 nights and both of them I had nightmares.

I paid $85 for a double bed room. My ski buddy and I split the cost. There is a pub right near the hotel which is family owned and operated. It has nice atmosphere and a great selection of beers.

The hotel was nice, but the rooms thermostat was broken and it was so hot we had to open a window in mid winter. Hot tub worked and was fun while it was snowing. Close to restaurants and hiking. All in all an enjoyable stay.

Great staff and location. This is an older property and a great old mining/rail town close to four mountains. We skied Loveland and had a great time. No horrible I70 traffic like we thought we would have either.

The hotel was conveniently located by several restaurants. The room was kind of outdated but was comfortable. We chose this hotel because they accepted pets. Would stay there again if the need arose.

Everything was great. Everyone was very nice and our room was ready for us after a long flight and drive from Denver. We took the Geogetown Loop train the next day and went Shopping and exploring little Georgetown. We loved it there. Thanks to the Hotel staff and making our first night in Co. relaxing.

The hotel's location is good, right off I-70 with views of the mountains. The inn is obviously not new, and our room smelled musty when we entered. A few Lysol sprays later, the smell abated. When we booked, we were showed room decor and choose which room we wanted. I chose the rustic log room, but we weren't given that room. There was no air conditoner (it was hot and humid when we arrived) so we had to open windows, which no air could come through because I wasn;t going to sleep with my drape open too. There was no door or curtain to hide […] you standing at the sink putting on makeup or brushing teeth so everyone could see you outside if you cracked your drape for air. So standing in night clothes heading to bed was open game for all to see. Modern society does not allow us to trust like we once did so everytime you left your room you had to lock windows and door, so your room was hot when you returned. We were able to get a coffee pot and coffee from the front desk. It would have been nice for the hotel to provide one in all the rooms. The room was clean and the bed comfortable.

It is a little run down, but very very clean. Our biggest complaint was absolutely no air conditioning. Our room was about 78 degrees and never cooled off until after midnight. We got very little sleep due to the hot temperature of the room.

Only 2 pillows (and old ones) per bed. Check in was quick and friendly. Hotel property is lovely. Room is bare bones - don't expect luxury or evn higher end economy. Walls are very thin and no air conditioning (that I could find) so had to leave windows open to get the air. That was a mistake as it sounded like Romper Room started at 0630 with children […] yelling outside window to their parents. Breakfast is really bare - convenience store muffins and juice. Early check out time (11 am) and late check in. Lots of rules and "lists" of expectations at front desk and posted in room. Weird place from another era like 1960 with no updates. Seemed very depressed. wouldn't even go in pool or sauna because appearance so unappealing and lack of upkeep. Could hear every sound in other rooms. Musty smell. zero amenities. Main office dirty and reception person unappealing and no personality. Looked like the maintenance guy. Room was clean […] however. Big room, nothing fancy. Clean. Pool is very small. Breakfast was bad coffee, juice and muffins. The shower did not work but it was fixed promptly when we reported it. A close, pleasant walk to the main shopping, eating areas and close to a wonderful playground for kids.

Overall, I was pleased. The location is beautiful, the setting was quiet, the room was large and clean and the beds were comfortable. A few minor drawbacks were a missing light bulb, no ceiling fan in a room without AC, and a less than stellar breakfast (mini muffins with coffee, cocoa, or orange flavored drink). Some of the reviews of this place suggested a romantic get-away -- that, it was not. The staff was not rude, but were not overly pleasant. The room was servicable, but small and not up-to-date; the ceiling fan was covered in visible grime. This is a 50 year old hotel, designed for skiers, the rooms have quite a bit of flexibility, the standard room has 3 beds. Very clean, comfortable economy lodging.
