Overall great experience. I would not recommend purchasing the Internet at all as I feel I $9.99 too many. In hindsight, the idea was to get in touch with nature, so the internet was use to checkout surrounding park info.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Stay in Oakhurst"
The proximity of the hotel to the park was the only advantage to staying in this hotel. The hotel was built in 1978 and has been updated but it hasn't been kept up. The room was clean but average and had a fair amount of room for two people as it had a small table in it as well. The bathroom and service were my biggest complaints. The bathroom had LOW […] FLOW shower heads and sinks. The sink didn't even have enough pressure to rinse my toothbrush. The shower head was built for people under 4 1/2 feet tall. It is mounted very low and hits about mid torso. It was also low flow and it was hard to rinse the shampoo out of your hair. The bathroom door also wouldn't shut properly and you had to really push the door hard to get it to shut. The tub/shower combination was also cracked so badly that surely the subfloor was ruined underneath. It was about a 6" crack. The number of towels that they give you is ridiculous. We even left a note to ask for additional towels, and they gave us less than the day before. We also had 3 pillows on our king size bed the first night, but the second night after housekeeping came we were left with only two. Breakfast of any kind is NOT included. For the premium price I would expect some type of breakfast. I recommend staying in Oakhurst. Yes the drive into the park is a little longer but you will be met with cheaper groceries, cheaper gas, cheaper hotel rooms and more restaurant options. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Located within 10 miles of the entrance to Yosemite Village this hotel with most facilities is just where you would want it to be. but it is the step - sister facility. Try Yosemite view.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was clean. The young man at the front desk was very helpful. No elevator. Old fashion hotel. Expensive for what it was, considering no extras such as breakfast. Close to Yosemite.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice comfortable stay"
This is a nice hotel close to Yosemite. There are not many restaurants in the area, but you don't go to Yosemite for the food. There is a restaurant at the hotel- one of the few in the area. The rooms are spacious, generally well kept, and clean. Staff is courteous and friendly. Would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close but not worth it"
I notch above a Motel 6 and not worth the price. However if you are only looking for a place to shower and go near Yosemite then this is okay. Be prepared to tolerate the horrible food - you have no other choice. Consider staying in Mariposa... a litle further to drive to the park but you are not held captive and have more choices for food and night […] activities. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Yosemite, nice bathtub jacuzzi"
It was a decent hotel but I think they charge WAY too much per night for what you get out of it. We paid $200 a night for a Friday and Saturday. It might have to do with their proximity to Yosemite but I still thought it was overpriced. The hotel was fine otherwise. No issues that I can think of.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A Pleasant stay"
The hotel room was pretty good. It was nice and clean. It has an adjacent restaurant, where good food is available though the options are limited. The bed was not really good. The major problem is the lack of mobile signal and internet communication. This is a problem in most of the Yosemite valley and not particular to Cedar Lodge. The hotel is located […] on the Highway to Yosemite valley. So its location is pretty good. The hotel staff was not very cooperative. Overall Cedar Lodge is a good option and yes I will go back to Cedar Lodge if the opportunity to go to Yosemite arises. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location. Nothing else"
Do yourself a favor and stay In Oakhurts. The "town" of el portal is in the middle if nowhere with no services or cell phone / internet coverage available, and the hotel knows this. The hotel will charge you for wifi, local calls, anything they can to fleece you while you're staying there. Everything is WAY over priced (gas, food, store), El Portal […] knows they can charge because there isn't anywhere else within an hours drive. They do have closer access to Yosemite valley floor, but that's about it. If I go again, I'll stay in Oakhurst, more options for gas/food/stores/CELL PHONE!, etc. and the drive from Oakhurst to the valley floor is beautiful! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Reasonable price + accommodating service"
The front desk staff were very helpful. We need some extra time to rest in the room, and they extended our check-out time, which was really helpful. The hotel was old, but everything works.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place to stay in a beautiful location"
The restaurant and hotel was exactly what I needed it to be for my trip to Yosemite. Nothing super fancy but the place was clean, the people were nice, the location was convenient and the food at the restaurant was decent and feeling after a long days of hiking in Yosemite.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Adequate lodging close to Yosemite"
Not worth the price, but had no choice closer to Yosemite to stay. For what they charge, I would think they could have proper maintenance (plumbing work shoddy, AC unit not secured in the wall), train employees to provide some pleasant customer service, and provide free Wi-Fi (the whole area is dead to most phone and 4G service providers, be ready to […] pay ~$10/day for wi-fi). A groundskeeper used a leaf blower on the dirt picnic area every morning, as well as the rest of the property. I could tolerate "eyesores" like leaves and twigs on the ground in order to breathe the clean mountain air. The office staff was apathetic, didn't show any emotions or inquiry when I checked in or out. No coin laundry onsite. The room was clean. Pool was clean. On site grill/restaurant was clean, service and presentation was good, but food preparation and quality was lacking. Cheeseburger looked like it had been sitting under the heat lamp 90 minutes. Overall, a 3 star facility at 4 star prices. I would stay there again if I had no other choice. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Quite pricey, considering everything is extra, including internet and landline phone service. Because of the remote area, we were in the "dead zone" for celphone use but would have liked to know that in advance and you are pretty much forced to use their restaurants for meals since there's nothing else around.Genuine Expedia guest review
The room was clean and the staff were excellent! We had to change our plans because of an emergency and they accommodated our every need. We would definitely stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great location outside the Park entrance"
Trying to get last minute accomodation in Yosemite NP over the summer holidays is always a challege! Cedar Lodge was still very crowded but it felt like a welcome relief after a day of navigating the crowds in the Park. Very basic accomodation but the rooms were large and clean. The on site restaurant was just OK (recommend eating in the bar area as […] the restaurant food is average, not very clean and service VERY slow). All in all we had an enjoyable couple of nights in this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
My family of six stayed here our last night in Yosemite after tent camping for two nights to get some rest and clean up. We played in the indoor pool to get some relief from the heat and found it clean and refreshing. The hotel provides towels poolside but they were out by the time we were done swimming. Luckily we brought our own for camping so it […] wasn't a problem. It was busy with other guests also finding some relief. Their was a sign saying the Hot Tub was broken but it worked fine. We also ate dinner at the diner and enjoyed their Canyon burger. Be sure to ask for cheese if you're looking for it because I did and it was yummy. My husband assumed it came with it and was a little disappointed when our food arrived and he was cheese less. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. We had two of our kids on the hide a bed and they didn't complain. The bathroom was big and clean. Though it didn't have separate room for the toilet and shower from the sink which made getting six people ready a little difficult. The room has a large flat screen TV and their were some good shows for the kids to watch. We then woke and got ready for our last day in the park. We ate breakfast in the dining room. $11 for adults and $7 for kids. While our bill was pricey, it was nice not to cook over hot coals and just go through the buffet and instantly enjoy our food. We enjoyed our stay at Cedar Lodge and may come back someday. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel close to yosemite"
Stayed at room for handicapped, great for father. Lots to do, game room, 2 pools, next to river to swim ,fish. Restaurant expensive but gives large portions. Bus stops at hotel to go to yosemite (hour away as roads are slow). Lots of gazebos and benches to hang out at in evening to see views.Genuine Expedia guest review
"OK hotel if you nee dto stay close to Yosemite."
Expensive for the quality, but for the time of year and proximity to the park is it expected.Genuine Expedia guest review
Phone didn't work. Electrical outlet near TV and refrigerator was temperamental; refrig was turned off. Coffee maker was temperamental. No microwave in room, but available in lobby.Genuine Expedia guest review
Convenient to Yosemite valley. It does have small store and dining available. Rooms a bit old feeling and staff very young and a bit inexperienced.Genuine Expedia guest review
The location to Yosemite was excellent. The rooms were clean, but the bedspreads and blankets were stained and had holes in them. Housekeeping started knocking on doors & vacuuming at 8am.Genuine Expedia guest review
Room was nice, but too expensive. Maybe off-season (non-summer) rates are better, but not worth the cost in summer. Buffett breakfast was so-so, and they ding you for anything extra (like milk or juice). We went elsewhere for food after that experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
only stayed there overnight on our way to Yosemite National Park and it was ok but if stayed longer will be better off looking for a place within the park .Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel to consider"
Clean well maintained hotel. The let down was our first point of contact with a female on reception at around 4pm (2/7/14). Something about me or what I said she did not accept. She was short, no eye contact and we requested a room with a good outlook and was given a room around back with no view. Also were not aware there was an actual restaurant and […] instead dined in area. Not a good experience. Food was awful, we left ours. Bar tender lovely and tipped well. Would return. "Great place to stay prior to Yosemite"
Your last chance to stay prior to Yosemite entrance. Excellent location, service, room and cleanliness. Would recommend staying here!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was a clean motel that served its purpose since we spent most of our time in Yeosemite.Genuine Expedia guest review
The only argument in favor of this hotel is its location at the gateway to Yosemite. The rooms are extremely overpriced given the poor amenities. We bought WiFi access for $10/day, which was barely functional. The rooms lack a microwave, the furniture is slightly worn and there is no possibility to do laundry.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed at Cedar for the July 4th weekend. The location wise this place is very convenient approx 30 minutes drive to the Visitor center. The rooms are OK nothing to special or too bad to mention. There are couple of onsite dining options. The formal dining place get very busy so we decided to dine at the Valley instead. Its cheaper and quicker.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great location, clean rooms, nice views"
Room was basic but very clean and comfortable. The location is very convenient to the entrance to Yosemite NP's Yosemite Valley entrance. Good mid-point location for visiting multiple destinations at Yosemite NP. Hotel has nice views, swimming pools, and multiple picnic areas. Restaurant is very expensive with slow service.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Fine, comfortable, but skip the breakfast buffet"
The folks who work at the lodge are quite nice. Our room was large and comfortable. The pool was much needed after a day of 100+ degrees. The other amenities were a bit lacking, though, especially the breakfast buffet. The place is probably a little overpriced for what you get, but that's just because it's near the park.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location but need updated"
We booked 3 rooms (2 deluxe, and 1 standard). They upgrade the standard to kitchen room, but the location is bad, and no other room available. The kitchen room is in 1st floor setting back on corner of building, old and dirty. The deluxe rooms are in 2nd floor, so it's cleaner. Rooms are roomy, but old. Our hair dryer doesn't work, and it 's very difficult […] to adjust the water temperature in the bathtub, you either get too hot or too cold. Service is good, staffs are friendly. Foods in the restaurant are ok, not so good, reasonable price for going travel in the woods. They have very good option to split the dish for 2 people, and the portion is very good, so if you are not super hungry, that's a good choice for not wasting food and save money. "Cozy and comfy near Yosemite Entrance."
When I booked here, I had no choice about staying. It is very hard to get lodge in summer Yosemite. I didn't expect that much. This place is not expensive than other place nearby. but !! It was good to stay, staff was very nice and warm :D. They were very honesty with their WIFI service, too. My room was 1st floor with Kitchen with door, Bathroom with […] larger bath tub. Towel was enough to use, room was very clean. I will stay next time again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It is hard to find rooming in and near Yosemite and this place knows that. The pillows were like someone stuffed rags in them--so lumpy. The bed was really hard--you are better off camping. There are there dreadful streetlights by a lot of the rooms--we had one right in front of our window and there is no black out curtains. It was really hard to sleep […] in the light--bring a sleeping mask. I have to say the bar and grill are tasty but the restaurant is not--you are much better off going to the grocery store in Yosemite or in El Portal. I think next time we will be looking for a vacation rental instead. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Location very good"
Driving into the Yosemite area is very hair-raising. Once we got to our room it seemed very nice. The room was clean with a wonderful view. The bed, a king, was super comfortable and we loved the balcony. There is a bar/restaurant on the property with very good food and nice wait staff ( Destiny was our bartender). The pools were good and opened late. They […] advertised laundry facilities which are 7 miles up the road at their sister hotel. No cell use for the whole area. The fridge only made our drinks cool. A/C and ice machines worked well but were very noisy. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Horrible service, cheap rate for what we got."
Hotel service was horrible-- borderline harassment! After checking in, my family pulled in to park by our room in two cars (there were 10 of us). 4 of the family members were leaving but before they could even do so-- the maintenance man that brought us a rollaway bed began suspiciously walking around our two vehicles (as if to count the number of people […] in the cars). He even made a very sarcastic remark to my friend about how we were lying and trying to overstuff the room. The room fits 6 people and that's how many were staying. Not only did he continue to circle our car and stay nearby and WATCH us unload for 20 minutes, but he began conversing with us from a distance with other staff as well. Another employee took a chair out of a vacant room sat on the balcony across from our room also watching us unload. This is total harassment and utterly uncomfortable for us. I'll never stay at this place again. Also, we were lied to about rollaway beds from the manager. She said there were none available and would not be able to provide us with any even if there were, whereas the maintenance man told us there were 10. The restaurant food was filling but was not good at all either. I do not recommend staying here as it is also a 30-40 minute drive to the entrance of Yosemite National Park (not worth it). "Okay but could be better"
This motel complex is located outside Yosemite and provided an "okay" experience. There is no cell service and during our stay we could not use a credit card due to some sort of "problem with their card reader". Their buffet was the only breakfast option and at $12/person was overpriced - by 9:00 am it was not an attractive option but due to their location, […] it was really the only choice we had for our family. The eggs were not really edible and the oatmeal looked like glue. Orange juice and milk was an added cost and there were no refills for the milk. There was no choice to order anything else. The staff available to check you in were lacking in experience. The room size was nice but it took forever to cool (we had to turn it on). Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to Yosemite Valley"
Picked for convenience. Lots of outdoor amenities. Room, not so great. Carpet dirty, no fitted sheet so it was a wad in the morning. No breakfast in spite of extra high price. You pay for being close (reasonably) to the Valley. If you get there early in afternoon and stay for awhile, you will enjoy the grounds, but don't expect much else.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for its location"
My room was clean but some paint was peeling in the bathroom. The room smelled like it hadn't been opened in a while. They gave me a room at the back, and it had a great patio and picnic table on a deck which was a nice surprise, albeit one that I couldn't use because I was there only for one night on my way to Yosemite in the early morning. It was […] the closest I could get with late notice and it satisfied my needs, but I clearly paid a high price for the location, and this motel would probably go for half that anywhere else. I showered before getting into bed to read, and a bug walked across my bare belly! I flicked it off, and in the morning I found wings in the bed. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The location was great, just outside the park. The rooms were lovely, very spacious. The little beach on the river just across the street was a grand place to lounge after a hike or at nighttime underneath the stars. My only complaint was the price of the room and the even more outrageous price of Wi-Fi.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
