"Highly overpriced for what you get"
Paid $195 for a room that looked like Motel 6. WiFi is another $10/day, but will not download anything faster than 1MB/s. The heater/AC unit fan was hitting a metal structure inside causing an enormous amount of noise; so loud that it would wake me up in the middle of the night when it came on. When I mentioned it to the Front Desk, they showed no concern for my lack of sleep. The restaurant was overwhelmed due to lack of staffing (not showing up to work) and getting dinner took a very long time.

"Good option, not far from park entrance"
The room was very clean, but the linens were very worn/tattered. Pillow cases had faded stains. For a place close to the entrance this works. With a little updating and internet / cell service it would be 5 stars!

"poor maintenance"
Close to Yosemite and less expensive than other options at similar distance. Perfectly adequate, but poorly staffed and maintained. Ice machines all disabled. Wi-Fi poor quality and costly extra. Cleaner did not show until late in day when we were back in room, so had to simply ask for more towels with no cleaning. Furniture, bed, sheets, etc all functional but worn. Etc.

Amazing. Really all you need for a affordable place to stay near Yosemite. Breakfast was eh but your not there for the food. Hotel at nice is very pretty with all the lighting hanging around trees and area. Loved that they had lots of patio furniture to sit out and enjoy the surroundings. Would defiantly go again!

This hotel provides a quiet, clean place to rest your head at night and not much more. It is close enough to Yosemite, however there is not much to eat nearby aside from the hotel's restaurants.

Pros: - Location: It was not too far from Yosemite National park - about 20 minutes or so to the entrance. - Price: Reasonable rate. About $100 per night - Room: It wasn't the best condition but not too bad. Clean sheet. The room was very spacious for family of 4 Cons: - Staff: Hotel staff was polite but they won't do anything to help you. ex: The coin machine was out of order and eating up our money but they won't refund our money. ex: The room didn't have microwave oven and I requested one but they won't do anything about it. - Room condition: It's outdated - especially the couch and bathroom. - Extra charge: Other than room, you have to pay extra if you want anything - they charge for not only breakfast but you have to pay for wifi, computer usage at the lobby, even a cup of coffee.

"Convenient and economical"
Stayed one night in king room with spa. Check-in was quick and room was nicely furnished. Bed comfortable and room location quiet. Dinner in restaurant decent with limited salad bar. Breakfast was later than we liked because we wanted to get to the park early so we skipped it. Easy and quick checkout. Courteous and helpful employees at desk.

"Good Hotel at Yosemite National Park Entrance"
We have no complaints about the room, but the service here. Everything costs money. Wi-Fi is $10/day for one device. Even toll free number costs 50 cents/each. Food is expensive and not good. Hotel staff is not so knowledgeable. It rains and snows during our stay, and we do not have the snow chain. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel and we plan to take the bus. I remember I read somewhere that the bus fare includes the park entrance fee but not sure. Then I ask a lady there and she says we have to buy the park entrance fee separately. It turns out the bus fare indeed includes the fee. Disappointed.

"Comfortable night for Exploring Yosemite"
We had a pleasant 2-night stay. The room was a nice size. We didn't feel crowded. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean and neat. There isn't any cell service and there is a charge for Wi-Fi. If you need to be connected, this isn't the place. Personally, I enjoyed being off the Internet for a while. The adjointing restaurant was a disappointment. Meals in $20 to $30 range. May have been the worst meal that I've paid for. I'll happily return to the Lodge, but won't enter the restaurant, no matter how hungry I am.

"Needs Lots of Work"
Good location if you want to visit Yosemite. However, the shower situation was especially bad. They brag about their spa tubs. They are very deep and you have to climb into them to take a shower. I am 5 feet tall so this was very difficult for me. An older person would have great difficulty. The water was slightly warm at best and it sprayed you. No idea how you would ever get shampoo out of your hair. The towels feel like burlap sacks. Everything in the room was very warn. The beds were very hard and the pillows were super thin and flimsy. On the up side, the staff were polite and the room was clean. We actually got a free upgrade for our room. It was large. We fit a cot easily for my son and had a great deal of space left over. It had a SMALL kitchenette with 2 burners and a tiny fridge. The Yosemite View Lodge, which is down the street is a much better way to go. It is just outside the park gate. It has a lovely view of the river and rocks. The rooms are much nicer and have kitchenettes. There are several restaurants on the property and a pool. I believe the price is about the same.

"Breakfast not incĺudeď"
The price for this hotel was a little higher than most, and the only one that didn't include a Continental breakfast. There was a restaurant on the premises. We went therè, and it only offered a buffet, priced at $11.95 each. Coffee was not included -- the total cost was over $30.00. The hotel was nice, but with all things considered, we would not use this one agsin.

"Reasonable Lodging But A La Carte"
We stayed in a fairly good sized room with 2 queen beds with a round table and 2 chairs, a fridge, good sized wash basin area that is outside of the toilet/tub/shower room. It was end of March and room was about 75F+ if AC is not turned on - much different than the weather forecast of 38F - 67F for Yosemite. AC is noisy like many typical motels. Aside from basic and spacious room, nice indoor and outdoor pool, and Merced River across the street, you'll need to pay for wi-fi and breakfast. Don't expect wireless reception either. The motel is convenient to Yosemite Valley as it took us about 30 minutes to drive to the Valley much better than staying at Groveland. Cedar Lodge's sister property, Yosemite View Lodge is just 7 minutes or so closer to the Park, but you pay more for the room and still get no wi-fi or breakfast. Their dinner offering was better than Cedar Lodge: 8oz prime rib (but not a good grade of meat) with salad & soup (too salty) bar for $16 and most entrees were in the teens.

"Good location to Yosemite"
For the price, I can't argue about the value. Though, they were under staffed. Had no coffee pot in the room, called for one, front desk says 10 minutes but it never came. Seems somewhat insignificant but, as a 35 year hotel vet I know a few basics. Don't mess with people's coffee and don't promise something you can't provide. Plus, the food in the grill, the restaurant was closed, was really of poor quality, previously frozen and cheap. It embarrassed me that we were serving that "cuisine" to so many internationals.

"Okay as long as you are prepared..."
This hotel was adequate for our family of 5 (3 children under 10), but it definitely felt like we had stepped back in time. As people have mentioned the decor is very outdated, the TV was mostly static, and the whole wi-fi cost is unbelievable. When you see "Queen bed" read that as "squeaky, double bed." You will have 0 cell coverage anywhere on the property, but you do get a signal when you are in Yosemite near the village. Breakfast at the restaurant is NOT included with the room and is very pricey and slow. The bar & grill has a poor food selection and is very over-priced. They know they are the only game in town and treat you as such. We wanted to substitute a milk for the fountain drink in the kids meal and they said they couldn't do it so we would have to pay an additional $2.50 for a small milk. We went down the road to the Yosemite Lodge and had some great pizza and much nicer customer service. For us the bright spots were the indoor pool for the kids to play in at the end of the day and the hotel customer service was excellent. Outside of that I was not impressed. Obviously going in the "off" season like we did makes a huge difference, but just be prepared.

"Cedar Lodge at El Portal, CA"
Room needed fresh paint and brighter light bulbs so you see to read. Used this hotel because it was close to the Yosemite Park entrance. This hotel is in the middle of no where. Closest restaurants were 10-30 miles away because the restaurant in hotel was closed. The only thing open was the bar and grill but the food was expensive and the food I ordered was burned.

"Decent hotel in the middle of nowhere"
Decent hotel. I read some other reviews about the restaurant but I had great service and the food was good but pricey. There was nothing else around at all! The hotel was fairly clean and quiet the indoor Pool and hot tub were just what we needed after a day of hiking. We went to the river in the morning- just beautiful and across the street. Bummer that there was limited wifi for my teenage daughter. But it was worth it since we were in the middle of nowhere!

I would definitely stay here again. However, our stay would have been improved if there had been a microwave in our room, tv channels that kids would enjoy watching or at least a dvr so we could watch our own movies, and if the heated pool had been warm instead of cold. We enjoyed the hot tub, but the kids needed the outlet of active play in the pool.

Very family friendly hotel. Clean and comfortable rooms, loved the indoor pool, the restaurants were very convenient. Loved the all you can eat breakfast, and there's a wooden train that's great for kids to play in. It was perfect entertainment for my kids in the evenings before bed. My only complaint is I called the hotel hours before we left and requested the crib be set up in our room prior to our arrival. Not only was it not set up but staff still had to look for it. This was very upsetting after arriving so late. Overall it was a great hotel and only 30 minutes to Yosemite valley.
