"so-so hotel - gets the job done"
Room had two clean queen beds with a bathroom and kitchen. I have AT&T and there was no cell reception there. There is only wifi in the lobby and they charge $9/day to use it. The diner there really isn't very good at all. We ate there the first night but on the second night opted to drive to Mariposa (a half hour further down on the 140) to eat di […] nner. "Right across the street from Merced River."
This was the second time I have stayed at Cedar Lodge. The first time I stayed in a regular motel room and was under impressed. This time up graded to a king room w/ Jacuzzi. Much nicer. Dinning is still a big disappointment. Still a good choice if Park Lodging is not avvalable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel - NO WIFI!!!!"
Great location for Yosemite park, but no open wi-fi - shouldn't it be a start in 2013??!?!?! ask for 15$ a day and only works in the lobby (which is far from the rooms). there is a good restaurant near the hotel (very nice breakfast), except that just a room and a shower.Genuine Expedia guest review
While the Cedar Lodge was adequate it was quite expensive for what you got. No in room Wi-Fi, limited TV channels and almost 20 miles from Yosemite. When the park closed due to the government shutdown they were helpful in cancelling our last night in the hotel. Little park across highway was nice and right along river.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The stay is very comfortable, and I should confess that the life without WIFI in the room is not that bad because after hiking all day on Half Dome, we didn't had much energy to do anything else other than sleeping. The room is clean, and the location is quite good. I will come here the next time I go to Yosemite National ParkGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Yosemite is expensive."
Yosemite is not affordable for a typical family. Cedar Lodge is 30 minutes from the gate. There is gas. The room was bare bones, but had a coffee maker and TV. You can not get that in Yosemite. However, eating is expensive, and a cooler with food wouldn't go wrong. Spend the extra $$ for the deluxe queen. It comes with sofa and refrigerator. There is […] a pool and adorable wood bear carvings everywhere. The restaurant is pricey: service is slow. Food is cold. Better to bring your own. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Hotel was located several miles outside the entrance to Yosemite N.P., but close enough to travel out each day and get back to the hotel the two nights we stayed here. Nice lobby and very warm.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel- No connection!"
Nice hotel with indoor/outdoor pool and spa. Good price for location- very close to Yosemite park- only approx 20 mins away. Yet, no Internet connection or phone service- for some this might not be a negative aspect but when you have two girls staying in a hotel located in the woods- you tend to feel a little safer if you some kind of connection to […] help. "Daytrip to Yosemite"
After a long drive non-stop fro Long Beach we stumbled across this property and decided to stay, good choice, there was availability and we were very pleased with everything.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very Convenient Location"
The room was large and clean. Price is a little high, but you are just outside the park entrance. The furnishings are old, but comfortable. Keep in mind this is just a place to sleep overnight while you spend your days in Yosemite. It has both indoor and outdoor pools to keep kids busy. I have stayed in nicer hotels in Mariposa, but you get tired of […] the long drive in and out after a couple trips. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"hotel staff (the front desk young boys)"
During the check in the front desk the young boys (night staff) had horrible customer services, I will never go back in that hotel and don't recommend it to anyone. the couple young boys treated us really badly! their not belong to working in a major hotel!Genuine Expedia guest review
"worth it , close to yosemite"
family friendly. bar , fast food area, gift shop.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Had a room next to the linen room. Staff talking outside our room very early in the morning. The room was very stuffy and we had to keep the noisy air conditioner on all night. Looking at photos taken, the indoor pool was incredibly green and the outside pool had black mold around the water line. The proximity to Yosemite was great but overall the price […] of the room along with the restaurant was too much. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great rest spot for our busy day"
We enjoyed this facility very much. Nice room very nice people. Great meal for Dinner and breakfast. Overall a very nice place to come back to after a busy day in the Park.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Dirty, noisy aircond. Expensive for what it is."
Not happy at all, would not stay there again. Dirty rooms, very noisy aircond, terrible hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to Yosemite"
As with other reviews, you are definitely paying for the location as it is only about a 15 minute drive into Yosemite and this alone makes it very popular. Room itself was fine, with comfortable beds, aircon, fridge and coffee maker. It was great to be able to come back from a hot day in Yosemite and swim in the pool and get a cool drink. We had dinner […] in the restaurant but would not recommend it based on price or quality. A better option would be to stop at the well-stocked general store halfway between the park and the hotel for provisions. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"The place is not great, but not bad"
I thought that the 3pm check in is a bit unreasonable. You should be able to check in early, like about 11 - 12pm.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Hotel Very Close to Yosemite"
Room was very large, as well as bathroom. Water in sink just trickled but shower had great pressure. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet but dinner menu was not great. I would go there again.Genuine Expedia guest review

Nice lodge along Merced river close to Yosemite No much dinning options Nice accomodation with indoor and outdoor poolGenuine Expedia guest review
"Location is what makes this hotel nice"
I'm not going to pretend this hotel (motel? all room doors face the outdoors) is spectacular. From the accommodations perspective the room has all the essentials but it isn't new or fancy by any means. They have basic cable channels, no wifi and you're cell phone probably won't have reception from there (or anywhere nearby for that matter). We wanted […] a cost effective hotel that was close to Yosemite. This one isn't cheap but they all get more expensive the closer you get to Yosemite. The bed was OK and the furniture / room was dated but that didn't matter much when you come back exhausted after hiking all day. The shower was large with two shower heads which was cool. The other thing to consider is that the roads to Yosemite are windy and slow. I regretted the drive back to the hotel each night and I can't even imagine staying farther away. Cedar Lodge is as about as far away as I'd want to be from Yosemite. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Short stay in Yosemite"
Proximity to Yosemite Valley was good. The hotel was very nice, but very expensive, in comparison with other like hotels. The breakfast at the restaurant was not worth the price.Other than that, it was a decent place to stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Perfect for the "glamping" experience."
Best of both worlds. The hotel is literally nestled on a mountainside with woods on one side and the Merced River right across it. Stayed with my 3 kids, my hubby & my mother. The room was very spacious and even had a dinning table!!! We arrived at 1:30 pm and had lunch at the Grill & Bar at the hotel. The restaurant is as nice as any OC Sports Bar […] and our server was beyond helpful and was very nice in telling us the hot spots to visit. Food was great too. We were given our room at 2:45pm, which was great! No complaints here. Perfect for adventuring during the day and coming "home" to a warm shower & comfy bed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very near Yosemite, but cheaper"
Loved how close it was to the river. It was really nice to hike down and enjoy a beautiful piece of nature. The hotel had lots of accommodations that made it great as a single stop ( an indoor pool and Jacuzzi, an outdoor pool, an arcade, a restaurant/bar, and a banquet hall). The brunch left something to be desired as well as the mattress (we stayed […] in a King bed and it was a bit springy making it not as desirable as other hotel beds; however it was at a great price for the area). All in all we really enjoyed ourselves and would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect for our Half Dome adventure..."
I can't understand all these complaints... I'm a Starwood member and am used to staying at the Westin, W, and the like. This hotel is not that and I knew that going in. We booked the hotel upon getting our lottery permit for Half Dome. We arrived, used the pool, had a comfortable sleep, then hiked 17mi the next day. Afterwards, we enjoyed the pool and […] hot tub, a few drinks from a friendly bartender, and a fine dinner at the main restaurant. "Good to stay, but be careful of Breakfast."
The quality of the hotel was good, but they said that the fee including breakfast, turned out it wasn't.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is ok. but price because the demand on the summer. The hotel is the closest to yosemite entrance. It's ok. for anybody who is going for the first time like us. But camping could be better.Genuine Expedia guest review
no free breakfast, do not know if they provide free Wi-Fi or not but it's really close to the park. the AC is kind of noise.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
A place to stay because it's close to Yosemite. I felt very overpriced for what you get. It gave me the feel of a motel in the 70's or 80's. Very outdated, especially the old comforters and lumpy mattress. It seemed clean enough, but I wondered when the carpet was cleaned or changed last. No Cell service, no WIFI except for a fee in the lobby. There […] are no views or scenery to look at. I prefer the Yosemite View Lodge down the street which at least gives you a view of Merced river. The motel has a diner/bar and restaurant on site. The food was way over priced and very bland. Even the French fries were soggy. There isn't really any place else to eat without a long drive. If we go to Yosemite again, I will look at staying somewhere else. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel needs remodeling. I think it used to be very nice, but they have to remodel. I feel like I did pay a lot for it(200), it worth probably 120 because location. What I like was the way the employees treat us. I loved the green views.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't expect much..."
If you come in expecting a great place to stay, you will be disappointed. So I knew while booking this place to not expect anything. Which worked because our stay wasn't all that bad. Comfortable enough for 5 adults and 1 toddler. Would I stay here again? Probably not. It was totally overpriced. Yes, close proximity to Yosemite, about 15min. But it […] was a motel charging like it was a first class hotel. Wi-Fi for $9/24hrs and only available in the lobby? No thanks. I rather be without my technology. Cedar Lodge is a very convenient place to stay while visiting Yosemite. The price we paid for one night seemed high, the room seems old fashioned and the bathroom was not as clean as I expected! "It's located in a rural area what would you expect"
We are a family of six with the majority all adults and spent 4 nights. We were quite happy with the size and cleanliness of our room. Drawback was couch mattress could have been thicker and shower was quit touchy, very hot or cold. We were out most days by 7:00 AM, we kept breakfast things in our room since there was a refrigerator. (stopped at the […] grocery store in Mariposa). Ate at the hotel restaurant only once, not a five star restaurant by looks, but every one enjoyed their meal. Only had time to use the hot tub once but it was much appreciated after hard day of hiking. Yes wifi would be nice, but you are able to get it in many areas inside the valley. Would definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overpriced, even considering the location"
Compared to other motels in the area (do not get fooled by the "Lodge" name - it is nothing more than a roadside motel), it is more expensive with poorer service. Breakfast is not included. The restaurant is far too expensive for the quality of the dining and the skills of the chef.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
If you have no other options for lodging near or in Yosemite, then this will do. Both lodging and meals are overpriced. Indoor pool was not heated and cold; outdoor pool was crowded.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A motel at the price of a luxury one"
Don't expect much from this hotel, you will have the service of a Motel for the price of a luxury one. It is just conviently located close to Yosemite, and that's the only reason I would recommend it. The local restaurant is bad and the convinience store is a rip off.Genuine Expedia guest review
The woman checking people in was rude but I had expected it since I had called ahead of time and was treated rudely on the phone as well. She had basically told me that they sell out and turn people away every night. So I guess they don't need to have any customer service since they are so close to the park and there are so few options. $250 for this […] room was a joke! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Air conditioner too noisy for sleeping. Ice and pop machine was out of order or empty both days. Breakfast buffet was unorganized with guests wondering around trying to figure out how to get served. "Good location close to Yosemite"
Older hotel and needs updating. Had many stairs to back side where out room was. Breakfast was OK, dinner not very good. Location was good though and just 15 minutes or so to the park gate.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is only 6 miles away from the Yosemite park entrance, being a very convenient location. This hotel gets a large number of international guests, and they falsely assumed that I did not speak English, so they spoke in a condescending manner to me in asking for my license plate number. This hotel has very nice outdoor and indoor pools, though […] we did not have time to use them. Our room was large, with 2 queen size beds and a surprisingly large bathroom, more than enough room for family of 4. Our family all liked all the carved bear statues decorating the area. "No competition results in indifference to visitors"
To put in briefly, they do not care. The ONLY reason to stay there is proximity to Yosimite. Poorly maintained rooms, Internet access that does not work. My advice is to plan a year in advance and stay in the park.Genuine Expedia guest review
No cell phone signal, no WIFI in the room. They charge fee to access WIFI in the lobby but the connection was not stable. Old room and not clean. Not worth the money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our experience was comfortable other than the fact that thier was no Internet..Genuine Expedia guest review
Overall I would say I would stay here again. The all you can eat breakfast buffet was a great value. It had fresh fruit, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, toast, and more. It has two pools, one indoor and one out. The rooms were clean. The only complaint I had with this hotel was: There is no cell phone service (which they are aware of) and they do not provide […] complementary wi-fi anywhere on the facility. It comes with a fee. So, make certain you are ok with paying for wi-fi or plan your trip so well ahead of time, that you don't require cell or internet. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wouldn't Know Customer Service If It Bit Them"
Pro: Close to Yosemite Park. Cons: NO Internet in the rooms. NO Wireless services. NO Workout room. NO walking trail. NO Extra pillows without a hassle. NO laundry facilities. NO bath mats. NO second room key (only 1). NO Customer Service--everything is an inconvenience. Bottom line is that this place is run by people who have no idea how to run a hotel […] and that the word "guest" is the same as "paying customer" and they don't get it.
