Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Yakima - Yakima

Spent 1 night. Had a room close to the pool. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of options for my picky boys. Beware... Pool has lots of salt, was like swimming in the ocean. Was a great stay otherwise and I stay there again.

We have stayed at the Fairfield Inn before and that is why we chose to come back. My only critique would be that the breakfast area could use a little more supervision, especially when the hotel is hosting sports teams. As these young ones are super charged and ready for their day, they tend to 'plow' through and leave the other guests wanting for a […] place to sit quietly and enjoy a bit of breakfast. I gave this hotel a negative review a couple years back because of the condition of their hot tub. They seem to have fixed this issue. It is clean, hot, and fun. Our grandkids greatly enjoyed the indoor swimming pool, and my wife and I enjoyed watching them swim while we basked in the hot tub. Our room was a little chilly. The thermostat was not easily adjusted, so we just turned it off. The hotel was easy to find, quiet, and the staff was very friendly and helpful in directing us to some local antique stores. The disappointing rating is due to the dog that was allowed to roam around in the dining area. The breakfast in the morning was good, […] with a nice variety of food. The downside was a guest that brought his dog into the dining area and let it walk all around and under the tables and all along the food line eating tidbits off the floor. DISGUSTING! I was disappointed in the quality for the amount of money. The room we were put in had no fridg or microwave, it was tiny and the beds were of very low quality. They switched our room which was much nicer, however the beds still left a lot to be desired. I believe on the website they say they have pillowtop mattresses, far cry from it. The "business" […] area had a non-working printer and the breakfast was frozen sausage sandwiches. On the upside, the staff was very accomidating and friendly. The location was excellent. The room was basic. Staff were very kind and helpful. The breakfast had many options. Bathroom was roomy. Pool area was nice and so was the workout room. The staff immediately attended to a problem when called and approached the people in the room above us to ask the kids to stop jumping on the beds late at night. The only […] problem was with the air conditioner. Controls were on a wall thermostat all the way across the room, and we alternated between freezing or roasting all night long. Check in staff member was very short and rude. Check out gal was extremely kind and knowledgable. Hotel was noisy. Thin walls made it impossible to sleep through all the commotion in the hallways.
