"Home away from home"
Great place for large families or groups of families to stay near Busch gardens and colonial Williamsburg. The cottage unit was actually 2 separate units (1BR and 2BR) but when we reserved for a 3 bedroom we were given the whole house. It was perfect for our extended family to spread out.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Love King's Creek!"
Have stayed here many times, through my timeshare and on my own. Location is amazing, right next door to Water Country and 7 minutes from Busch Gardens. Super spacious apartments with every convenience. Will be back again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I was expecting a lot more for the money spent…$1000 for 4 nights, with no cleaning service, a very squeaky noisy bed and a ridiculous charge if you asked for extra towels…really? What a disappointing shame as my family and I would never visit this "Resort" again.Genuine Expedia guest review

Time share solicitations seemed mostly the important issue, BBQ grill bottom completely rusted out and seemed unsafe to use.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very well maintained grounds with clean, comfortable cabins. Centrally located, so easy to visit surrounding area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The walls are paper thin. You can hear someone talk in the room next to you. The matress was old and lumpy. We had to turn it just to survive. The couch was the same. Poor quality. There were centipedes in the bathrooms. Ugh!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My husband and i enjoyed staying there. We don't have any complaints.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great family vacation spot"
The layout of these condos is perfect for folks on a family vacation - we rented a three bedroom cottage for three couples plus a baby. One of the bedrooms is it's own unit, complete with kitchenette, etc. The other two bedrooms are downstairs, and one of the bedrooms had a walk-in closet big enough to fit a portable crib, which was great for the baby […] we were traveling with. The second bedroom has two twin beds, which was annoying for a couple but they could be pushed together. Only complaints are that the walls in the unit are extremely thin, and our room didn't have any curtains - this is not a good location for a light sleeper. Additionally, the heat was not distributing equally (and stopped working while we were there, but the hotel immediately sent somebody over to fix it) - there were no separate vents for downstairs and in order to get the downstairs rooms warm enough, the upstairs had to be pretty toasty. The gym was pretty nice and the pool looked nice (and is supposedly heated to 84 degrees), but there was no place nearby to go for a run - it's not really near any neighborhoods or sidewalks. after arriving at 9 o'clock at night, we were informed that we were registered for a 1 1/2 hour meeting that we were expected to attend, so they could sell us on how great the facility was with the opportunity to purchase a unit. We did not sign up nor were we ever asked about this prior to. We did not like being told that we needed to attend this meeting. […] The following morning. We asked if we were obligated to attend this meeting and did not say that we had to, but definitely made it sound like we were obligated to. After discussing it with the rest of our group, we decided to call and tell them that we were not going to be attending the meeting. Besides this, we had no other complaints about the facility. It would come highly recommended. In the future if they wanted to sell the facility to us. I would recommend just putting out a book or pamphlet on what they offer and phone numbers and websites to contact. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great weekend at the King's Creek in Williamsburg"
The one bedroom cottage was very spacious for us. We all loved the layout. The spa tub was an excellent way to relax after a day of sightseeing. The only complaint was that the games in the game room were not free for guest and they are only car racing games at that.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The facilities were updated with very nice amenities and very clean. The staff was very helpful with any questions we had or any concerns. There was no pressure to purchase any time shares, which was a nice change from other places we have stayed at in the area. We will certainly stay there again in the future.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great little cottage"
We stayed three nights for half the price of an area hotel room. Very comfortable accommodations Our unit was older and some things showed a little wear but it was very clean and well appointed. We had problems closing side patio door and they sent someone immediately. It couldn't be repaired so they offered us another unit but we opted not to use the […] door. They do try to get you to attend a 90 minute presentation for their timeshares and will give you free tickets to area attractions- pricy tickets too, but we declined and there was no problem. "Rental apartments right next to the waterpark"
There were serious problems with keys and check-in and out. Upon arrival we had trouble unlocking our unit: as we were struggling with the lock, the surprised OCCUPANTS opened the door; the room had been double booked. We were assigned another unit which was fine until the last night when we returned late and tired and our key again wouldn't open the […] door! Again we drive to the office to get it straightened out; there was confusion because they still had us listed for the FIRST room! Apparently the party originally assigned to our unit was supposed check out that day, so WE were locked out! What poor organization! There were other, though less frustrating annoyances: - The place was advertised as "cottage" but it consisted of small buildings divided into apartments; we had expected a cottage o ourselves. It was clean enough but could use some updating. - The main problem was that the walls were paper thin and we could not sleep even though the neighbors were only talking. - Also The lighting was very poor; nowhere was there enough light to read by. Does nobody else read anymore? The grounds were nice and the sports facilities were unexpected. Though we did not take advantage of them, there was a nice variety of activities for the guests, and even DVDs, games, etc to rent. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We had a great time. The room was exactly as pictured. Everything worked well and the staff was professional and courteous. Would definitely stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not a resort!"
The 20' flat screen tv that is secured to the wall above the refrigerator is impossible for small kids to see and should not even be considered an appropriate option for entertainment while on vacation. The pictures of the room that were shown on-line prior to booking were not at all similar to what the room actually looked like (tinyest kitchen I have […] ever seen). The indoor pool was initally a plus until actually siwmming in it and seeing that the water was murky, smelly, and the chlorine level was so high it made our skin itch/burn. Around the pool area was not kept clean and we could only stand to be in the pool for about thirty minutes before being so disgusted we left. Not at all what we thought we were getting for the price we paid. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Didn't care for this Resort. Walls paper thin, neighbor very noisy over top of our unit. Having to do your own housekeeping. Unit was in a noisy area(construction going on). "Great escape for all ages"
I was so thrilled to get to visit this resort. It was so quiet and the cottage was just what I needed. The only thing I was surprised about was I thought I would be in a cottage alone but it does have (2) units in them A & B. I was very fortunate that no one was in the unit beside me and it was just an awesome stay. The property is clean and very attractive. […] Location perfect just a short drive to the Outlets or Colonial Williamsburg . Awesome trip! Look forward to another restful visit. It is located next to Water Country so in the summer traffic could be a problem but for my time frame it was perfect. They also have a small shopping center that has been built 2 minutes from the resort and the ramp to interstate is about 3 minutes away. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This was a great family escape for me and my extended family. We met from several different states with children and grandchildren and the entire resort experience was excellent!Genuine Expedia guest review
First accomodation provided was of lesser quality than we had reserved through Expedia. Management said Expedia had changed our reservation; and when we asked for documented proof, they changed their story and changed our accomodations to what we had reserved in the first place. However, this condo was quite strange in layout with bedrooms below ground […] level and quite dusty everywhere. When we asked for a second change to alternate accomodations to have bedrooms on second floor, we were placed in quite a nice condo -- much to what we had expected when we made our reservations. The Staff was very pleasant and helpful, with the exception of the Manager who made us feel very uncomfortable. We won't be going back to this site in the future. We really enjoyed our stay and the amenities that it had to offer. Walls are thin and can easily hear neighbors. We lucked out and had quiet neighbors. They were able to get done in an […] hour and half but after a lot of pressure. The plantation was close to everything and colonial Williamsburg was a short drive. Overall we would recommend. The hotel was very spacious and accomodating for the 6 of us. It was much more than we had expected. Planning on staying again in the near future.Genuine Expedia guest review
Some staff members at the front desks were not very helpful with simple requests such as printing me out a final zero balance upon checkout. The staff member who explained the facility was very rude to us once we said we were not interested on going to the timeshare presentation. One older gentleman was so kind to give us directions. Otherwise we had […] a two bedroom in the cottages which was great. Far from the pool though. Stay in the townes instead. That is where we stayed before. If you have more than two people definitely get a two bedroom. The one bedroom is too small. Full kitchen and washer dryer is great if you have kids. "Spacious and Comfortable"
Our family of 5 adults found the King's Creek 4 bedroom 'Towne House' to be very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. "Experience With A Time Share Inquiry"
03/21/15 tfig218 Virginia Beach, Virginia
My wife and I responded to a promotional offer from J C Swain Enterprise, LLC to investigate a potential time share purchase at King's Creek. TripAdvisor reviews of the property as well as the Better Business Bureau accredited ratings were positive. Also, the property is very attractive. The offer included either a "Fly Away Escape" or "Flex Cruise". The terms of each were so confusing and ambiguous, we settled for an American Express Gift Card instead. The sales pitch was equally confusing and nebulous. We spent over an hour with three sales agents attempting to confirm a firm price with associated benefits - prices that ranged from a high of over $50,000 to around $6,000 - They appeared to be randomly pulling numbers out of thin air without any basis of comparison to how much we currently spend on vacations. Following another half hour of confusion, we opted to decline, retrieve our American Express Gift Card, and left.

at the Philadelphia golf show I put a down payment on the $298 3 night offer. The lady after a few tries offered me a $50 Amex gift card, 2 tickets to Williamsburg , and unlimited golf. She stated it would be an additional $50 a night, and would upgrade me to the estates for no additional charge. I have called to verify the additional nights and was told $219 a night.
"Pleasant Birthday Weekend"
03/02/15 Timothy W Columbia, Maryland
My wife booked a weekend at the resort for my birthday. In particular, we wanted to receive a couple's massage. We arrived around 4 PM and asked if any openings were left at the spa. We were told to choose between 5 PM the next day or 9 AM. on Sunday morning. We choose the 5 PM. However, before we were done booking, we were informed the 5 PM was no longer available. We took the 9 AM. We were upgraded to a suite with a fireplace. The accommodations we wonderful. The bathroom, in particular, had a great shower. We ate at the resort restaurant that evening and were pleasantly surprised. My wife's fish dish and my lobster ravioli were excellent. When Sunday morning arrived, we got to the spa at 8:50 AM. Nobody was there. When no one had arrived by 9, we contacted the front desk and were told the spa had no bookings for 9 AM. Fortunately, by the time we went to breakfast, the same clerk, with whom we had booked on Friday afternoon was there. She apologized profusely and our breakfast was 'on the house.' We have since been contacted by the spa and they have offered a complimentary massage if we decide to return. The resort truly is beautiful. I would love to return during the summer.
"3 Bedroom Cottage Rental"
02/27/15 Steve V Williamsburg, Virginia
Our experience was extremely accommodating. We had a frozen water drain pipe in our 2 bedroom unit in the laundry room due to extreme cold temperatures which caused some minor flooding. We know this was beyond anyone’s control. Maintenance responded quickly to our unit and began to work on the frozen pipe and cleaned up the water for us. The manager overheard my wife talking to someone about it at the pool and he immediately offered to move us to another unit. We declined his offer since we had settled in already, loved our location, and had the 1 bedroom unit as well which allowed us to use the washer and dryer while maintenance worked on the frozen pipe. The manager also offered to buy us dinner for our troubles and gave us a gift card. We asked him about staying an extra 2 days beyond our 7 day stay and he was able to accommodate us with this request as well. Our cottage was very clean and well stocked and equipped with everything we could ever need on our vacation. It truly is a home away from home. The staff was very polite and continued to ask if there was anything we needed. The maintenance crew was right on top of things checking and removing our garbage daily, checking roofs and removing snow and ice. Our family did not anticipate a major snow storm with 7 plus inches, but much to our surprise at around 8:45 in the morning, as snow was still falling, there was a gentleman plowing our road and 2 gentlemen shoveling our vehicle out! What service we received above and beyond what we expected. Overall we were very impressed and satisfied and highly recommend King's Creek Plantation. This was our first stay with them and we are hoping to reserve a unit again next year.

Somehow this resort got my cell phone # and I received a telemarketing call while making dinner for my kids. The man on the other end was speaking so fast I had to ask him repeat who he was calling from several times and then told him it wasn't a good time. I hung up and then he proceeded to call me again from that same number an hour later. The next day he called AGAIN, and then was completely rude when I told him I wasn't interested. "Why did you tell me to call back today if you aren't interested?!" First of all, I didn't tell you to call me today. Second, YOU called me. I was never interested. Third, I will definitely NEVER consider staying here because of their telemarketing tactics and rude telemarketers. NEVER.

Spent a couple of days on the way to Florida. Lovely cottages, family size rooms, clean and generally a very nice place to stay. Summer would likely be a nicer time to stay but this was ok too.The weather was very cold when we were there and didn't warm up till south florida. Would recommend this resort for family gatherings like Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Just got back from a stay at the King's Creek Cottages. We were in Williamsburg for a convention and didn't want to stay at the convention hotel. The 2br cottage we were in at King's Creek was quiet and spacious. When I booked it, I was looking for the biggest unit available in my network and couldn't find anything left bigger than 2br, so it was kind of surprising and disappointing to arrive and find that the place was nearly empty, including the lockout portion of the cottage we were in. Had that been offered, I'd have spent the points to rent the third room. When I arrived, the light in the entryway was burnt out, but maintenance changed the bulb in very short order. Also when I arrived, the kitchen counter had what looked like some muddy spots on it. I didn't notice anything else that looked like it hadn't been cleaned properly though. The furnishings were okay, but there wasn't anything that made me say "wow, this is really comfortable!" After three nights in the master bedroom I was more than ready to get back to my own bed. The kitchen wasn't terribly well appointed or well laid out, but it was adequate. The doors out of the unit were very sticky, we had to be very careful about pulling them closed, they could look like they were closed but they hadn't latched. I was glad to see that there were courtesy soaps and shampoos, but I ended up running to Target and getting replacements because they somehow managed to both dry out my skin and leave a film. Overall, we're planning on returning next year and hopefully getting a larger space, but King's Creek wouldn't make the list of properties that we'd go to for the property itself.

"My Mistake, I Opted to Take a Timeshare Torture Tour"
01/03/15 theruetwo Washington DC, District of Columbia
The lure of a "prize" got me to take a timeshare torture tour. My mistake. First, about the property: I liked the Cottages when we drove through years ago. I still like the Cottages. Our unit was ok, but there were a few issues. The fireplace did not work. They sent a maintenance man, the fireplace still did not work. There was mold on outside of unit near chimney. The porch boards were falling apart. The refrigerator was very noisy. The fans were very noisy. They had only local high definition TV. The upper cable channels were analog. Why do so many resorts make this mistake? After staying on property, I probably would not purchase here. Now for the Timeshare review. We were driven in our own car to a local restaurant. They run so many folks though the local restaurant they have their own special menu. We listened to the salesman, as I have always 'liked' the location of this property in Williamsburg, and was generally interested in the details. Once I expressed I was not interested several times, the salesman became despondent. A new closer stepped in, and then the super closer. I will not name players as a courtesy. Wow, kinda like when Gilligan's trip turned from 3 hours to a lifetime. The 45-60 minute tour turned into a 3-4 hour torture. Help, just unchain my ankle lock and give me my reward for surviving the torture tour.
