Clean, relatively large hotel on the main street. Next to a mosque. For some reason google maps shows it in a wrong place. Walking distance (100 m) from the beach. Good buffet breakfast. Decent outdoor pool.

Where do I start! Definitely not five star, not even three star. Staff at front desk can't smile, asked for non-smoking room, checked in and room smelt of smoke and had an ashtray and matches next to bed on table with NH logo, rang reception, and they told us it was a non-smoking room and wouldn't relocate us. Stayed in hundreds of hotels and never […] had to pay to use the gym, this hotel charges 8 euro. Not to mention I have been to lots of hotels in Spain, and this was the first hotel to charge for wireless internet. Breakfast was terrible, all hot food was cold even the scrambled eggs We waited twenty minutes to be seated at breakfast, and coffee to the table took forty minutes to arrive. Rang manager from room to tell the manager, that all the hot food was cold (as chef didn't speak english), and was told he would ring back in 5 minutes by reception staff, and waited an hour and a half and he didn't ring back. When we checked out the manager said he tried to call our room five minutes after we rang but got no answer, so he lied to our face. the walls are paper thin, you can hear people snoring in the next room and their every move. We had a room next to the elevator, which we got to hear all night as well! We asked for a ten o'clock wakeup call, only to have someone knock on our door at 10:30am, half an hour late as all phones in hotel didn't work. At check out asked for front desk to ring taxi, and they said they couldn't as phones weren't working, so had to walk to taxi rank which was a fair distance with luggage, and no one offered to help, or surely at a five star hotel they would have a mobile phone to contact the taxi company. The pool area was closed, the hotel is so sterile, with no one to be seen as drinks and food are expensive, and the hotel is so far from anything. Avoid this hotel as it is short staffed with unfriendly staff, and not worth the money. Hotel rooms were clean and spacious. The main negatives were that the reception staff could be quite unhelpful at times and the cleaning staff insisted on congregating outside our rooms making noise from early every morning and then proceeded to let themselves in when we were in bed! The hotel is located between Puerto Banus and Marbella Old Town. There are few decent places to go within walking distance so prepare to pay for taxis to either of those destinations.Cabs are relatively cheap though.The photos are far more flattering than the reality. There is one area which has grass; the remaining loungers are at each of the pool on a tiled area. The hotel offers wifi but you need to collect a new code from reception daily. This is supposed to cover you for 24 hours but it in fact expires by midnight every night. The hotel says it has a gym. You in fact have to pay each time you use it. There is a beach club (its average and is merely an area on the beach with a small bar/diner) but again you have to pay for the privilege of using it. Our room key stopped working several times.The staff are nice enough but really slow. Lunch times at the pool bar were necessarily long as the staff look in your direction but rarely notice that you are seeking their attention. On most days, we placed an order for lunch and drinks but they forgot half your drinks order. On our final day, we ordered lunch 50 minutes before our taxi was due (we were the only ones in the bar) and had to cancel as they failed to produce a simple order. Overall, disappointing. Stayed here a couple of times before moving on to a villa. Nice hotel for 1-3 nights (wouldn't personally want to stay any longer). Rooms are good (probably the hotel's biggest strength) - disappointed we specifically booked a double but got a twin though - pool view are the best if you can get. Beware - if you want to sunbathe just go to a beach, the pool is ok but the sun loungers are the most uncomfortable you will ever lie on - I would rather sunbathe on a cactus. Don't want to be too harsh because the standard is about right for the price we paid (not allowed to write that on here for some reason) and the location is very central for Marbella/Puerto Banus. Don't fall for the suite upgrade (we did last year) - they don't have balcony's and are no better than a superior room (you get a lounge area that you are very unlikely to use!) Fantastic Hotel for a weekend break. 40 minutes drive from Malaga to the hotel and then just a few minutes drive into the centre of Marbella or Puerto Banus. My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in July 2012, we wanted a relaxing break to read and sleep on the sunbeds, and that's exactly what we did. The pool is well designed with a deeper side for lane swimming which can be achieved without disturbing the kids using the shore style entry. There were plenty of sunbeds and opportunity for shade. […] We did buy some food from the bar which was OK, but as always in these places the soft drinks were more expensive than the beer. Outstanding feature of the hotel was the buffet breakfast - exceptional! Downside is that although the rooms look fantastic on the inside, very modern, it looked tired and in need of a paint job from the outside. A bit keen to offer upgrades - a "better" room overlooking the pool and more hotel opposite (our standard mountain view was far superior). Also tried to bill us for an upgrade to 1/2 board because we used the restaurant twice on an ad hoc basis. Took some convincing that we had not requested the upgrade, and the restaurant manager was definitely not […] happy. Perhaps he had to eat there - buffet breakfast good, but dinner disappointing. An all night tiff in the next room (an East End couple happy to share their problems aloud) was not the management's fault, but did not enhance our stay. Just had a 3 night stay at the NH Alanda (may 2012). Have stayed there once before, a number of years ago. Hotel is still as good now as it was then. Cleanliness of hotel and rooms is excellent. Standard of rooms are also very good. Hotel is positioned on a busy road, (but you dont notice it when in rooms or around pool). between Marbella and Puerto […] Banus, but this makes it very handy to jump on the buses (which stop right outside the hotel) and only 5 mins to both resorts. We had a great stay at NH Alanda! About 3 km's from the Old Town, but easily accesable with the bus (goes from the front of the hotel every 10mins!). 5min walk to the beach! Fantastic breakfast. Great service from reception, helped us figure out transport to Ronda and Malaga!

Really nice hotel, spotlessly clean and smart outside areas. Lovely pool and sun loungers. Room was bright and modern and having two sinks outside of the toilet/shower was a godsend for us two girls getting ready. Buffet breakfast was amazing and late servings on the weekend was good. Located a bit outside Marbella but right opposite one of the best hotels in Marbella so you can stay at a reasonable priced hotel and enjoy real 5* facilities across the road too. Taxi services right across the road cost under 10 Euros into Marbella each way and are a good service at any time of day. Hotel was rated 5* when we booked it in April 2011 […] but was down graded to a 4* by the time went on the 20th May, which is really all it is at best. Services was OK in the main, breakfasts were predicatble but acceptable, hot food was limited and warm rather than hot but again ok. The room we had was clean and well kept all all week. The hotel is situated between Marbella and Puerto Banus next to the main road that runs along the coast. The hotel photographs seem to indicate that it is next to the beach, it is NOT. They have a beach bar next to the the walkway that runs between Marbella and PB but this is a five minute walk from the hotel, accross the main road. We were only there […] for 5 nights and did not find a decent place to eat that was within walking distance from the hotel, although we did not look very hard. The one we ate in on the first night was average and very over priced in a very over priced area of Spain. The hotel breakfast was very good and plentiful, the staff were pleasant and polite, public rooms and gardens very well maintained. If you don't have a car there are busstops in either direction outside the hotel. Taxi one way to PB was 10.30 euros each way (a distance of about 3 miles). If you have a car go to Benahavis (about 8 miles inland) little village with lots of places to eat (Rufinos is very good value). Also Ronda lovely drive fabulous views and lots of nice places to have lunch. Overall this hotel was perfectly fine, nothing particularly good, but nothing bad either. Read more

Cant fault this hotel which was excellent value. The rooms were first class - spotless, well appointed and contemporary but warm decor. I had two issues during my stay 1. The poolside sun loungers are very uncomfortable and quiet a lot of them were broken 2. The coffee machines in the breakfast room were completely inadequate they were constant queues and needed a lot of staff intervention.

this hotel was fine but definetely NOT a 5 star hotel! The staff were friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. One sink wasn't plumbed in and the water just poured out from underneath - this was fixed the same day but then the water wouldn't run away at all and needed fixed again. The bath didn't work. There were no bathrobes despite the web […] site saying there were. And there was no information book in the room and despite asking for it 3 times (in Spanish so no misunderstandings) and being promised we'd get one, we were still waiting when we checked out! Seul petit bémol, notre chambre donnait sur l'avenue principale et de ce fait quand la porte fenêtre était ouverte, c'était très bruyant. L'albergo doveva essere meraviglioso alla sua inaugurazione, quando gli erano state date 5 stelle; ora sta decisamente subendo i segni del tempo ed è trascurato. Le camere sono molto grandi, pulite, ma l'arredamento è vecchio e c'è poca manutenzione. La colazione è molto ricca e varia, il personale cortese, disponibile e sorridente. la piscina è grande […] e ben tenuta. La spiaggia è a pochi minuti dall'albergo, attrezzata con lettini (a pagamento) e con un ristorante, è davvero molto bella. L'albergo ha un parcheggio proprio esterno e sotterraneo, non è possibile riservare un posto e potrebbe essere pieno, visto che le camere sono tante. L'albergo si trova a metà strada tra Porto Banus e Marbella, immerso nella tranquillità e nel verde: ci sono pochissimi ristoranti che si possano raggiungere a piedi (Marbella è a 5 minuti di macchina, 10 di bus e 5 euro di taxi) quindi valutate la possibilità della mezza pensione. L'albergo ha comunque un ristorante proprio a buffet interno e il ristorante in piscina offre buoni piatti e alla sera a giorni alterni un barbecue di carne e pesce decisamente apprezzabile.
