"Perfect for a weekend away!"
We booked Hotel Elliot for a last minute trip and it was just wonderful. Smack dab in the middle of Astoria and perfect for exploring on foot. The heated tile in the bathroom and the continental breakfast were nice extras!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful hotel, but old rattly windows"
We love the location of the hotel, as it is within walking distance of several places that we go to often. However, it is an old building and the windows are old and very rattly. We were there during a wind storm, so the rattling of the outer windows kept me awake for several hours during the night. However, the building is beautiful and the service […] is very nice, so overall we like the hotel. They've redone the inside of the building - now they need to update the outer issues. "A January Monday in Astoria"
Was scoffed at by the front desk for the mere suggestion of a noon check-in on a Monday in January. All else, from a service point of view, was acceptable. The hotel is beautiful and well appointed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel Elliott, Astoria"
a total gem. Hotel Elliott is an ace in the hole. I have not one suggestion or complaint.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Absolutely loved the radiant floor heating and roof top seating area with fire pit. Amazing views of the area!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Will definitely come back!"
Beautiful, historic hotel. Very clean, up to date, and decent rates. Would most definitely stay there again! Centrally located in downtown, within walking distance to most everything!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We book this hotel every time we visit Astoria. We are partial to the rooms with jaccuzzi tubs & fireplaces, but the standard room we had on this visit was fine for a one night stay. The heated bathroom floors are a nice touch, and rooms we have stayed in have had gorgeous views. The staff is friendly & efficient, and the rooms are very clean and nicely […] decorated. And the location is ideal for exploring Astoria on foot. Be sure to check out the rooftop deck. Great view & a nice firepit for warmth. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nicely refurbished "classic" old Downtown hotel"
The Elliot is a nicely refurbished "classic" old Downtown hotel, updated to modern standards a bit more than I am used to in such matters, certainly a positive as I have stayed in a number of others that were bandboxes! The bathroom was totally modernized and the heated floor was COOL (and very nice to have late at night when the tiles would otherwise […] be freezing during the late Fall days). The room was small but serviceable, and pretty much all we needed for a one night stay. The bed was a bit soft, but then we like to sleep on a very firm mattress. We did not really get to try out all the amenities, so I am just speaking to the basics, "two hots and a cot". I will note that the continental breakfast was serviceable, edible but certainly not fancy - I like a big breakfast but we were in a hurry and free is a very good price. Several good restaurants within walking distance, however a number were closed on Monday - be aware of that if traveling through early in the week. This hotel was also within walking distance of enough places to stick your head into to waste a long afternoon, plus good views of the Astoria Column up the hill. We did not get to try out the rooftop lounge area but that could be a major plus in the nicer Summer months. All in all, a place that I would consider staying in again. "Friendly staff. Charming hotel."
We were in town for a wedding in Cannon Beach. Astoria is a beautiful place and found the hotel to be located in an area that allowed us walking access to all the wonderful shops and restaurants. The hotel staff was so helpful and kind. Having breakfast each morning at the hotel was a bonus. We will stay at the Hotel Elliott on all of our future trips […] to Astoria. "Loved this place."
Great location, staff members were awesome and accommodations were super!Genuine Expedia guest review
Older hotel that has been nicely updated and located right downtown with easy access. Room was very nice, though a little small (as is expected in an older building). Staff was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was more than you generally find with a couple hot items as well as the typical "Continental" breakfast fare.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A real gem"
Had a great stay in Astoria at the Hotel Elliott. Little surprises kept happening...like the wine bar, the rooftop deck with excellent views and a fire pit, and heated tiles in the bathroom. Breakfast was very nice, hot food with real plates, plenty of choices and decent coffee.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Astoria - Hotel Elliot"
We loved this location. It's right in the middle of downtown Astoria. Walking distance to all the little vintage shops. Comfy beds, nice customer service. No complaints here. Our stay did include breakfast, but we never tried it. We love going over to the Blue Scorcher instead.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Charming and Inviting"
My friend and I enjoyed Hotel Elliott immensely. It's charming. It has character and history. Beautifully updated--fire places, comfy beds, and extra clean bathrooms. The updates have been done well. The roof top patio is beautiful. The breakfast was delicious and complete--eggs, sausage, Greek yogurt, gluten free bread, etc.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Classic small updated downtown hotel"
This historic hotel has been tastefully renovated and combines classic ambience with up-to-date touches. It's a refreshing alternative to cookie-cutter motels and chain hotels. The rooftop views are fascinating. The location is great, affording easy strolls around downtown Astoria. The complementary breakfast was healthy and ample. The only less-than-perfect […] aspects were a rumbly air-conditioner and the lack of always-available ice machines and soft drink dispensers. Nonetheless I'll go back happily. "Rooftop Deck makes the Hotel"
Average..the Wine Bar was closed, and the beds were not as comfy as they advertise…the air conditioner sitting on the floor with a vent to the outside was quite noisy right next to the bed…stains on the carpet, and bathroom was nicely appointed, but needed a good cleaning in all the corners and the shower. Coffeepot wasn't clean either. Comp breakfast […] was very nice. GREAT location, but room (Queen) was pretty small for the price. Lovely town! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel but view of the parking lot"
The hotel was nicely done. The tub was a very strong feature of the bathroom. It would have been better if we would have had more counter space in the bathroom. Breakfast was varied, but they were not able to say what was gluten free or not. Our view of the parking lot did not equal the price we paid for the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Love this hotel. We have stayed here several times and have always had a great stay. It is right in the heart of Astoria downtown with several good restaurants within walking distance. Floors in the bathroom are heated--a nice touch! Beds are comfy and there is a patio on the roof with a beautiful view of the Columbia River, bridge to Washington, and […] the Astoria Column. You can take your own drinks up there. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Elliot. We would not give it a 5 star rating because we found the lighting in the room inadequate for reading in the room and in our bed. That one simple change would make a lot of difference for the overall stay. Otherwise, the hotel amenities were good and the location couldn't be beat.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great rooftop views!"
Viewing sunsets from the rooftop terrace -- over the Astoria skyline with the Columbia River and iconic bridge in front of us -- was impressive. The hotel itself is small, older, but with friendly, helpful staff and a fine breakfast each morning. While the in-room air conditioner was loud, the room was comfortable. Overall, good value.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Best Hotel in Astoria!!!"
Best hotel in Astoria. Close to everything, close to awesome bars, restaurants, shops, ideal location!!! Room 408 was a little cramped, but later found out that is was an adjoining room to 407. A little small. Staff were very helpful and the rooftop terrace was fantastic. Woul definitely stay here again!!!Genuine Expedia guest review
Lovely restored hotel with excellent serviceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I loved the Hotel Elliott. It was historic but modern, with a great location and friendly staff. The room was small, but very clean, and they made storage available under the TV and in a closet. Loved this place. Rooftop garden was a plus, the location was great. All in all, I really enjoyed it and look forward to another visit in the future.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Poor response to request"
We had a view of the top of a service roof, in this beautiful city. When we asked for a change of room, we were asked to pay more to "upgrade". We will not stay at Hotel Elliot again. We like to shop local, and that's why we chose this hotel. The website sounds great. Our experience was mediocre.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great, classic, restored hotel"
We stayed for a weekend during the Astoria Music Festival, the main venue for which was across the street, so it made for a terrific car-free weekend in the center of a pleasant small town with lots of local eateries and shops close by. The hotel has been beautifully restored, the rooms are comfortable, spotlessly clean, and well equipped -- for the […] most part. As it was a peak week (and the hotel was one of the "headquarters" hotels for the Festival), rooms were in short supply, and we took a "standard" room with a queen bed. While it had plenty of amenities (large LCD TV, gas fireplace, coffee maker, cedar-lined closet with bathrobes, heated bathroom floors(!), very comfortable beds, desk, etc.) its chief drawback was the lack of comfortable seating... the desk chair not being suitable for that purpose. It was fine for our needs during a weekend when we were busy with concerts, shopping, etc., but might have been confining for some folks. Astoria's weather tends toward the cool side, even in the summer, so the hotel doesn't have central air conditioning. Our room had a portable air conditioner attached to one window -- which we never had a reason to use. However, with cooling provided by an open window facing a city street, there was a bit of noise early in the evening. Then early Sunday morning preparation for Astoria's Sunday Market, which runs right past the hotel, also provided a "wake-up call" a bit earlier than we might have liked. "Comfortable stay at the Hotel Elliott"
This is our second stay at the Elliott and both times the room was small but adequate, the bathroom excellent (the heated floors were a definite plus), the staff helpful and friendly, and our stay in Astoria pleasant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Old hotel near shops and restaurants."
A convenient location. Rooms are small and sparsely furnished. Good for one person.Genuine Expedia guest review
Quaint little place, that was very nice. The rooftop was amazing. Parking was iffy, but it worked out ok. I would come back if passing through Astoria.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cozy for sure"
This is a very quaint and comfortable hotel and would possibly stay here again. The pros; great downtown location. We could walk everywhere, to shops, dining and the waterfront. Very friendly and helpful staff. Exceptionally clean and modern bathroom in our room. Nice continental breakfast. Cons; room area itself, very small. We had hoped for and pre […] requested an upgrade to a King but none were available. While not their fault the "Wonderful Beds" as the hotel tag line was a bit overstated. Our bed was so sunken in that our backs were sore after our 3 day stay. We had a fuse blow in our room on 3 separate occasions and the staff had to come up to reset it. Slightly annoying. Had issues w/ the room. There was only one chair in the room. The shower was leaking. The bathroom was very small, nowhere to move. The bathroom counter top was very small--no room for toiletries. There was no temperature control for the room--it was very warm. I guess we could have opened windows but the view from the room was of ducts and the roof. "Hotel good, restaurant nearby bad."
We had a wonderful time at the hotel enjoying the nice patio on the top deck which we could see the river and ships as they were passing. We went to a restaurant a couple of blocks away toward the river for a bite to eat and had a strange encounter with the most rude bartender/server ever (we were sober, by the way) and we chose to leave before ordering […] due to the bad vibe. We were looking for a relaxing weekend, at a comfortable hotel with breakfast. Astoria is a great place to go, offering all kinds of entertainment in the package of a charming seaside town. Our stay was very relaxing and enjoyable, and we would definitely return to this hotel in the future. "Nice Hotel, walking distance to everything in town"
Very comfortable, clean, and welcoming place to stay. Wine bar was closed the days we were there. But, being able to walk to pubs, and restaurants made it very nice. Staff was nice, but did not go out of their way to welcome you. Overall enjoyed our stay and would return.Genuine Expedia guest review
We have stayed at Hotel Elliot 4 times. A very unique hotel. Friendly staff and clean rooms. The wine bar is a great feature. My only negative comment is the Hotel needs air condition for warm days. Rooms can get very uncomfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Mid-week stay on the coast in spring"
Private, quiet, great price for the quality. My boyfriend and I stayed in a room with one queen sized bed, with two large windows which faced the street. The weather was intermittently sunny and rainy, though from inside the room it always appeared warm and inviting, as the sun always shone through the windows. Parking is just across the street, and […] you can't miss the adorable 1920's sign out front. We spent a few moments on the rooftop garden, but it was windy and cold at the time even with the wind-blocker clear walls. Probably wonderful during the summer. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Overnight stay on Easter"
I prefer to stay in a place like this rather than more modern chain hotels. The Elliott is also centrally located downtown. I took advantage of the nice weather (a rarity in Astoria) to go to the rooftop to take photos and enjoy the views. While the overall room size was fairly small, it was adequate. The bathroom was comparatively larger and very nice. […] The bed was especially comfortable. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"perfect for walking about downtown"
Hotel Elliott was perfect if you like to walk out the door and be in the middle of town: shops, restaurants, museums & the waterfront all within easy walking distance. Parking was 1/2 block away. We knew our room was going to be small and it was. We liked the dark wood furnishings but the placement of the fridge/microwave was very awkward next to the […] bed. I used them as a bedside table. The bedspread was very worn - threadbare in places. And there was only one chair. This meant sitting on the bed which was high off the floor. On the plus side, that same bed was very comfortable. My husband and I both liked it, which was amazing as we almost always disagree on the comfort of hotel beds. The down comforter and pillows were great. The bathroom was small but didn't lack anything. The heated floors were very nice. The weather was too windy/rainy for the rooftop deck though we did go up and check it out. We would have loved to sit up there as the view was great and the deck furniture looked comfortable. There's a glass windscreen to protect against west winds. We also checked out the little gym downstairs. It was small but had lots of good touches like 2 machines, exercise mats & weights & a mini-fridge stocked with bottled water. We would go back to this hotel but would try to get a deal on a bigger room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
