"Cozy for sure"
This is a very quaint and comfortable hotel and would possibly stay here again. The pros; great downtown location. We could walk everywhere, to shops, dining and the waterfront. Very friendly and helpful staff. Exceptionally clean and modern bathroom in our room. Nice continental breakfast. Cons; room area itself, very small. We had hoped for and pre requested an upgrade to a King but none were available. While not their fault the "Wonderful Beds" as the hotel tag line was a bit overstated. Our bed was so sunken in that our backs were sore after our 3 day stay. We had a fuse blow in our room on 3 separate occasions and the staff had to come up to reset it. Slightly annoying.

"Elegant hotel"
Had issues w/ the room. There was only one chair in the room. The shower was leaking. The bathroom was very small, nowhere to move. The bathroom counter top was very small--no room for toiletries. There was no temperature control for the room--it was very warm. I guess we could have opened windows but the view from the room was of ducts and the roof. The rooftop was nice, if only it was not raining and cold---but this is Oregon and we expected it.

"Hotel good, restaurant nearby bad."
We had a wonderful time at the hotel enjoying the nice patio on the top deck which we could see the river and ships as they were passing. We went to a restaurant a couple of blocks away toward the river for a bite to eat and had a strange encounter with the most rude bartender/server ever (we were sober, by the way) and we chose to leave before ordering due to the bad vibe. We went up the hill to Fort George Brewery and Restaurant and received very good service and food. They are recommended as well as the hotel.

"Perfect for a weekend getaway"
We were looking for a relaxing weekend, at a comfortable hotel with breakfast. Astoria is a great place to go, offering all kinds of entertainment in the package of a charming seaside town. Our stay was very relaxing and enjoyable, and we would definitely return to this hotel in the future. The staff were fantastic, and we really liked our room.

"Nice Hotel, walking distance to everything in town"
Very comfortable, clean, and welcoming place to stay. Wine bar was closed the days we were there. But, being able to walk to pubs, and restaurants made it very nice. Staff was nice, but did not go out of their way to welcome you. Overall enjoyed our stay and would return.

"Mid-week stay on the coast in spring"
Private, quiet, great price for the quality. My boyfriend and I stayed in a room with one queen sized bed, with two large windows which faced the street. The weather was intermittently sunny and rainy, though from inside the room it always appeared warm and inviting, as the sun always shone through the windows. Parking is just across the street, and you can't miss the adorable 1920's sign out front. We spent a few moments on the rooftop garden, but it was windy and cold at the time even with the wind-blocker clear walls. Probably wonderful during the summer.

"Overnight stay on Easter"
I prefer to stay in a place like this rather than more modern chain hotels. The Elliott is also centrally located downtown. I took advantage of the nice weather (a rarity in Astoria) to go to the rooftop to take photos and enjoy the views. While the overall room size was fairly small, it was adequate. The bathroom was comparatively larger and very nice. The bed was especially comfortable.

"perfect for walking about downtown"
Hotel Elliott was perfect if you like to walk out the door and be in the middle of town: shops, restaurants, museums & the waterfront all within easy walking distance. Parking was 1/2 block away. We knew our room was going to be small and it was. We liked the dark wood furnishings but the placement of the fridge/microwave was very awkward next to the bed. I used them as a bedside table. The bedspread was very worn - threadbare in places. And there was only one chair. This meant sitting on the bed which was high off the floor. On the plus side, that same bed was very comfortable. My husband and I both liked it, which was amazing as we almost always disagree on the comfort of hotel beds. The down comforter and pillows were great. The bathroom was small but didn't lack anything. The heated floors were very nice. The weather was too windy/rainy for the rooftop deck though we did go up and check it out. We would have loved to sit up there as the view was great and the deck furniture looked comfortable. There's a glass windscreen to protect against west winds. We also checked out the little gym downstairs. It was small but had lots of good touches like 2 machines, exercise mats & weights & a mini-fridge stocked with bottled water. We would go back to this hotel but would try to get a deal on a bigger room.

"Perfectly Vintage"
I loved this hotel! It has all the character of an old, antique hotel, yet is very updated in the ways you would want. The bathrooms are brand new with heated tile floors. The rooftop garden is breathtaking with the 360 views. We would have loved to take advantage of the fire pit up there, but it was very rainy the night we stayed. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

"Casual Luxury"
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in Astoria, and the comfortable and well appointed surroundings of the Hotel Elliot really helped make it a wonderful weekend. The hotel is close to great restaurants, fun shopping (4 Seasons have the best jeans for ladies, ever.), as well as lovely sight seeing like the Flavel House, and the cornball Oregon Film Museum (fun anyway). The heated tiles in the bathroom and the comfortable bedding were the best parts, happy highlights also include a rooftop terrace with a gorgeous view and really nice styling throughout the hotel. The best part is the feeling that the hotel is nice and upscale, but not frou frou, fleece jackets are a-ok.

Took a one night mid week stay for my girlfriend's birthday. Everything was great. The room was clean, bed very comfortable, and the heated tile floor in the bathroom was quite nice. "Convenient, cozy, and quiet!"
This is darling hotel with lots of charm in the heart of downtown Astoria. We found the staff to be pleasant, especially the woman in the wine bar next to the lobby. She was very helpful in recommending places to eat and other local attractions. Our room was small but cozy and had a view of the parking lot, which really wasn't a big deal (we weren't expecting a view). We were surprised at how quite it was. We didn't hear doors slamming, showers turning on/off, footsteps up/down the hall. It was a pleasant surprise! The heated floor in the bathroom, Aveda products, and robes were a nice touch. The only issue we had with the room was that there is no A/C and it was quite warm and stuffy. We tried turning on the ceiling fan but it didn't seem to work, or we just couldn't figure it out. We would have also preferred something other than down pillows. The breakfast was another pleasant surprise. We were expecting the usual - stale bagel and a banana, however, we enjoyed the egg and bacon scramble and waffles with berries and fresh coffee and juice. They had a very good selection of other items such as muffins, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, etc. Overall, a pleasant stay and we would stay here again (with our own pillows ;))!

"Cozy and Comfortable"
We were so glad we chose to stay at Hotel Elliot. Though it's an older hotel, it has been lovingly refurbished so that it has an antique look without the antique smell. The room we had was small but had a good view, a comfortable bed, a deep enough bathtub, and it was clean as a whistle. The breakfast was better than any other "complimentary continental" we've ever had. The upstairs terrace has a beautiful view and attractive seating but the snow prevented us from taking advantage. We will be sure to book this hotel when we return to lovely Astoria.

"Excellent hotel in the "downtown" of Astoria"
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Elliot. Our room was warm and inviting. The bathroom floor was heated and we had a deep jacuzzi tub. The bed was not too soft and not too hard. It was an excellent compromise for the both of us. The hotel has been remodeled and renovated and they did a fantastic job! Each room has a slightly different floor plan and different decor. The different sizes and amenities offer travelers a range of rooms types for any budget. The roof top area, which has seating and tables, offers a 360 degree view of Astoria and the surrounding area. Very nice! Breakfast comes with the room and is a REAL breakfast!. The buffet offered hot dishes that included scrambled eggs, sliced ham, and potatoes. Also available were yogurts, rolls, different types of bread, hot and cold cereals, juice, milk and coffee. Unlimited trips to the buffet is allowed, which my husband loved. The hotel is close to all the wonderful places to see while in Astoria, many are withing a short walking distance.

We LOVED the hotel, even though the room was small, it was very cozy and inviting. I adored the heated bathroom floor....what an amazing perk!!! Breakfast was fabulous each morning! Location was superb....we parked our car at check-in and didn't touch it until we left two days later! "Hotel Elliott - Special Hotel in Downtown Astoria"
This was our second stay at Hotel Elliott. My wife and I were impressed with our first stay and we are even more impressed after this recent visit. It is a very nicely restored older hotel with a great vintage feel. They recently moved the wine bar and breakfast area from the basement to the lobby which was a good improvement. The staff is very friendly and the entire place is kept very clean. It is possibly the quietest hotel we've stayed in. We highly recommend Hotel Elliott.

"Not enough bang for the buck"
The hotel was fairly nice, but no where near enough to justify the price. The room was clean and well furnished, but it was also the size of a large closet. Breakfast was included, but I've seen better breakfasts offered at much cheaper hotels. The biggest issue was the parking. The parking was either on the street, or a lot across the street, which might have been ok, except for the fact that they have a Sunday farmers' market there which closes the main street and that lot from Saturday night to Sunday night. So for half the weekend you can't even park at the hotel.
