"Good Locaton, Good Price"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
The hotel was adequate and the location convenient for the event I attended. The price was reasonable. I appreciated the free continental breakfast. The breakfast room--an interior room without windows--is small and was crowded both days I was there. Alternate seating is in the more pleasant lobby with windows! Also at this Best Western, unlike at other BWs where I've stayed, the towels noticeably scratchy, not soft, are either old or require different laundering.
"Good food around the hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
They were very friendly and close to everthing, walked all weekend, loved it
"The Best Hotel on Ocean Beach"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
This might be the nicest hotel based right on the ocean at Ocean Beach. The staff was very helpful, the room immaculate, and the location second to none. I've stayed at a number of hotels in the area, but I won't stay anywhere but here in the future. You can't go wrong with an ocean front suite!

San Diego’s waterfront airport lies northwest of downtown, which is home to the San Diego Convention Center, PetCo Park stadium, and the Gaslamp Quarter’s. That historic neighborhood’s restaurants and bars are the hub of the city’s nightlife. Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo form a green swath in this urban jungle. Offshore, Coronado Island offers postcard views of the city skyline.
see all hotels in San DiegoI love the hotel. The food from room service SUCKS!!and it is REALLY noisy with the train station. other than that this is an amazing hotel.

"Great Location and Service"
We knew nothing about the hotel when we booked our stay. The hotel was very nice, clean and excellent location. Right next to the transit system and downtown Gas Lamp Corridor. We did not rent a car, which worked out great with public transport and so many things within walking distance. The concierge was awesome! He provided great ideas, several options […] and clear directions which exceeded our expectations. Read more

"Not for you if bathroom privacy is a must"
The location and amenities were amazing. Overall a great hotel--but if your not traveling with a lifelong partner, the bathroom leaves a lot to be desired. It's open concept so be prepared to turn on the faucet, shower and hair dryer if you ever want to #2 again.
"Great Location"
Connected to the ballpark and walking distance from the Gaslamp district. It's a great hotel.
"Great hotel"
Loved it here. Great staff. Great location. Great price. We partied till 4am and security never came.
"next door to Petco Park"
Very clean and it was near a lot of restaurants and other hotels. Next door is the Petco Park and Hard Rock Hotel

"Baseball trip"
The Omni is a must stay if you are going to games at Petco. You are out of the stadium and in your room minutes after the game by using the private bridge from the stadium. The hotel features a small gallery of baseball history which is a must see. Plus, most of the visiting teams stay here so you are likely to see players and/or coaches. Convenient […] to Amtrak and the airport with many shopping and restaurant choices in walking distance. Read more
"Worth the Discounted PRice"
This hotel is worth the discounted price - I do not recommend paying full price because the rooms, while slightly better than average, are not worth regular price. The location is good - dozens of restaurants in the Gaslamp. Internet access is priced reasonably, shower and tub are very average, hygiene products are nice and plentiful. Noise from trolley […] and industrial trains are bothersome late at night and early in the morning. Read more
"The Omni is the best hotel for Petco park"
Awesome stay and great baseball! nothing could be better.
"A must stay! Omni Hotel in San Diego, CA!"
If you are looking for a great hotel within Gaslamp District this is it! Great location, great staff, valet parking, and a footbridge connecting the hotel with Petco Park (very convenient if you already have tickets and do not want to make line)! Great experience! Will stay here again!
"Nice and close"
Staycationing at the Gaslamp, we look for nice, close, and affordable hotels. Definitely met the criteria.
"Just ok"
IGreat neighborhood - hotel starting to show wear No printer to print a boarding pass...
"Omni San Diego -great location but you pay for it."
Decent hotel with average accommodations. Great location, you can walk to Baseball stadium and many resturants and bsrs. Hotel gym below average. Clean with good treadmills but not so good weights. Overall, expensive.
"Great location, courteous staff"
I was very happy with this hotel. Everything was clean, the staff was professional, the gym was spacious, entertainment was close by, and so on. My only (tiny) gripe would be that they still have box TV's rather than flat screens.
"The Omni--Full of Minor Inconveniences"
Overall this hotel was decent -- good location, clean, etc. But my stay was marred with small inconveniences; nothing so big that I felt I needed to complain and change rooms, but inconvenient nonetheless. I had a split booking, so when I checked in I asked if I could keep the same room for my entire stay; they agreed and I was happy. But I still received […] my checkout card on the day I was supposed to change rooms, and I got my keycards reactivated that morning. Then, later that day, the cards stop working again. Other things that were kind of annoying: -My room was on the 5th floor, right next to train tracks. The train ran infrequently, but I still heard the horn a few times during my 5 night stay. There was also a jackhammer at 8:00am on my last day there. -The drapes didn't have overlapping tracks, so there was a perpetual sliver of light coming through. -The DVD player's sound didn't work intermittently. -There was no overhead light and only one outlet outside of the bathroom, and I had to unplug the sole standing lamp to plug in my computer and cell charger at the same time. -There were double doors between the elevators and the hallway to my room that didn't stay open on their own; it was hard to get my suitcase through them by myself. -There was nowhere to hang the handtowels in the bathroom. -The bathroom didn't have a fan and was not sound-proof at all. That said, the best part of my stay was actually the maid service. They were wonderful and very respectful of my things (I left my toothbrush on the sink and came back to it laying on a clean towel on the vanity). Read more
"Omni was great, except for a few things"
Carpets were dirty in the lobbies and hallways. Food was too expensive and main restaurant had dirty utensils on the tables. Concierge was awesome and staff was very polite and helpful. Pool and gym were good.
"Omni San Diego"
Clean, quiet and close to the gaslight distict and to the convention center.

"Awesome Hotel"
Had a great stay there. Very clean and modern with friendly staff.
"Room Service"
I was pretty satisfied with the most of the hotel services except the room service for breakfast one morning was terrible. The cart was missing hot water, tea set, spoons and water. Also the fruit bowl was terrible with old strawberries. The kitchen and room service definitely needs to be reviewed and trained much better. Consistency of a great services […] from the kitchen and room services are in the top quality for hotel. Thank you Read more

"Omni Hotel in San Diego"
Excellent facility, the staff were great. Would return for business or pleasure. This was the second time we stayed there and they did not disappoint.
"Great location"
Next door to ballpark, across the street from convention center, city transit stop at doorstep and Gaslamp Quarter just one block away. Great service and views.

"Omni San Diego - hop, skip & jump from convention"
I was attended a conference at the convention center and was happy I chose the Omni. Great comfortable details like a robe and great toiletries. Helpful staff, super clean room. I would definitely choose the Omni again. Only slight downside is that there's a lot of restaurants very nearby, but I didn't find drugstores or grocery stores.
"Great Hotel - Great Management - Great Location"
We spend a few days in San Diego at the Omni. Could not have asked for a nicer hotel. Spending some leisure time, the fact that the Omni is a business hotel did not matter. All the facilities one would want. Beautiful rooms. One night our next door neighbors were very loud at 2 a.m. The following morning, management called to apologize and offered our […] family free breakfast at the hotel. Read more

"Staff Rocks!"
Awesome staff throughout the hotel! Very much appreciated the level of professionalism and care. Kudos!
"Omni - beautiful hotel, great service!"
We stayed for 2 nights at the Omni for my daughter's birthday. It is close to all of the downtown sights - the Gaslamp is an awesome shopping and food experience. I was thrilled with the level of service. A few examples: 1. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived in town at 9:30am (wasn't expecting it to be), but they rushed the cleaning and called […] me on my cell as soon as it was available. 2. The concierge service was friendly and helpful. In particular, Robert went out of his way to help with directions and tickets. 3. We were absolutely stunned Saturday night to return to our room and find that Robert, the BEST concierge, had sent up sparkling cider and a slice of chocolate cake with candles for my daughter's birthday. This just went above and beyond, in my opinion. We travel worldwide and stay in many hotels. I would not hesitate to stay at the Omni again. We even had the very fun experience of riding the elevator with the offensive line for the Baltimore Ravens, who were in town playing the Chargers and staying at the Omni! Great value for the price. "Excellent Hotel, but lots of MISC cost added up"
We were pleased with the hotel location and the view from our room, as we upgraded to the "premium room." But there were other Misc cost which disappointed us. First, our "Premium" room had a standard TVwith the front panel broken off. I've been in less expensive hotels with large flat screen TVs. Second, the website states that there is free internet […] access, BUT only if you sign up for their Select Guest® loyalty program, so we declined and used our 3G. On arrival, there is a valet parking for what I would consider an expensive $$ amount. You do have in and out priviledges but must tip the valet each time. We were unsure of the proper amount of tips the valet would expect so my girlfriend went online to research the matter. Under $2 would be considered an insult so don't bother. There is a parking structure across the street that you could use, but there are no in and out privileges and you must pay each time you would like to drive around the city. Either way, they've got you! We also had a couple extra bags to carry so I asked if I could use a cart at the front (many were against the wall) but the attendant refused. He said that he could call a bellhop to do the two small bags but I assumed he would want extra $$, so we just carried it up ourselves. Our upgraded room had a nice view of the ocean and the staff was pleasant, but with all the nickel and diming, I would probably not be staying here again. Read more
"Perfect minus the bed..."
Everything was perfect except the bed. It gave me the worst backache I ever had in my entire life. Also, I wish they had HD widescreen TVs in the rooms instead of the traditional CRTs...
"Football"
Stayed at the Omni not thinking about the charger game. Come to find out the Denver Broncos were staying at our hotel. What an awesome experience. I will return again.
Very nice and convenient hotel. Will stay there again on future San Diego trips. Staff was great.

"Wonderful experience"
I used to live in San Diego and had not spent time in Downtown in ages. Loved my stay at the Omni. I have traveled abroad and this hotel is right up there with the best.
"Hotel Omni perfect location in gaslamp district."
Location was awesome. walking distance to all shops, restuarants and bars downtown. Morning walks along the bay was absolutely beautiful and just a 10 minute drive to beautiful coronado island. Nightlife can be kind of loud if there is a concert and you have the hardrock right next door but you have to consider we were there Halloween weekend. I would […] rather stay at the omni where it sits on the outskirts of the gaslamp rather than all the other hotels are in the center of the gaslamp. I would choose omni again over the other hotels in the surrounding areas base on location, beauty and roof top pool with bar. Read more
"Great location, close to transportation, food, etc"
My husband was attending a conference at the Convention Center and another hotel was the preferred hotel. When I called to book the preferred hotel was not available for consecutive nights, I saw that that Omni was close to the Convention Center and it was much more convenient and the price was much better also! The staff is great and friendly, including […] the maid service! The hotel has the McCormick & Schmick Restaurant for meals and a Starbucks, but there are a lot of choices as soon as you walk outside. The trolley is across the street and getting around is very easy in San Diego. Read more
"Omni San Diego - Great location - Great Service"
Overall the Omni was a great stay. The hotel staff were great, and very responsive. My only complaint was the bed. It was not comfortable, which was really surprising considering all of the really nice features in this hotel. Not sure I will stay here again, as I like to have a really comfortable bed when I travel. The restaurant downstairs was fantastic, […] and if I am ever in the area, I will eat there again. Read more

great location. great rooms. very clean. very comfortable beds. nice views. only bad thing is the parking, but the valet people are very very helpful. concierge was awesome!!
"Thin walls"
The hotel itself is amazing and the people who work there are very friendly and helpful. Our room was great except that the hard rock hotel is across the street and we could hear the music and people coming from their club and I couldn't sleep until it ended. I then was woken up by a couple having sex. When that ended and I started to go back to sleep, […] I heard someone else on the phone and I could hear them like they were in the same room. I think if my husband and I were staying for more then one night I would have gone crazy. Read more
