The hotel was in a perfect location. It was within walking distance to everything that we needed. The only negative, there was chipped paint out of the wall , and on the window ledge. This really surprised us. Also, in the bathroom when I shut the door, the door stop on the back of the door fell off.

I chose this hotel for a nice weekend getaway and was nothing but disappointed. The previous weekend, I stayed at a 2.5 star hotel a few blocks away, and was much more impressed there. The Hard Rock had a number of issues including: very dark room - not much light (artificial or natural); lots of street noise; very cheap decor and furniture; broken cabinet door; very warm room - said they would send maintenance, but they never arrived; had bar charges on account that were not ours. Overall, I was very surprised that this was a 4 star hotel. I expected a much better experience!

The stay at the hotel was amazing. Right from the start the hotel service was more than I expected. When checking in they were courteous and did everything to accommodate us with a room at an elevation that would make us happy. The bell hop had a few tips on local spots to check out, and the concierge was very knowledgeable and worked tirelessly to get us a table at a restaurant that suited our needs. The only downsides to the trip was parking is very expensive downtown, but the hotel had overnight Valet parking for only $2 more than the closest garage, and there was a problem with our bill at the end of our stay, but a quick talk with the front desk(took less than 30 seconds) got this straightened out and we were credited the full amount in question.

This was our second recent stay at Hard Rock Chicago. On this trip I have two complaints. First, we had various family members arriving some 4 hours apart. The first to arrive were 17. I called and requested they be allowed to get a key to my room and offered to provide a credit card number. I was rather rudely rejected. I understand that underage minors sometimes trick their way into a hotel. But with two rooms already prepaid through Hotels.com that possibility seemed remote. I think a first class hotels tries to accommodate guests, and having been in the same hotel 2 months prior, I think they should have. Second, our room was painfully hot and the air conditioner did not work. However, aside from the reservation staff, the rest of the staff, especially in the lobby bar, were very courteous and professional. It is a great location.

My wife and I were excited to stay in the Hard Rock, but my expectations were tempered somewhat by previous reviews expressing concerns about check-in procedures and housekeeping standards. While the check-in went smoothly, we were unimpressed with the room - contemporary chic is one thing, contemporary minimalist is not for a hotel! The bathroom was dirty (including hair in the bathtub - gross! Housekeeping did not arrive until 4:30 on our second day, when we had already returned from the days activities to unwind before dinner. We asked that they come back in one hour, and they never returned at all! We ordered a simply snack from room service and were told is would be $10. When it finally arrived (without the requested wine glasses) one hour later, the bill was three times the quoted charge! This was adjusted, but still...! We were overcharged for incidentals which had to be credited after we checked out, and when bringing these issues to the attention of on duty manager, she gave the requisite "I'm sorry" but then said she could do nothing! Too many choices in downtown Chicago to have this kind of service!!

We booked a weekend stay because of a great rate and expected it to be cheesy like the Hard Rock Cafe. The lounge/bar in the lobby was excellent to catch up with old friends. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

This was a very nice, clean, and conveniently located hotel. The only the gripe I have is the fact that breakfast is not included. I assumed if the less expensive hotels typically include a continental or complimentary breakfast, that a 4-5 star hotel would at least do the same. Instead, you have to either go to the pricey restaurant on the first floor, or walk a few blocks away in order to get your morning meal. Room service was exquisite however, very expensive (to be expected, of course).

The hotel held our bags until we were ready to leave. The food in the restaurant was great. The room was comfortable and quiet-could not hear other guests but did hear a bit of street noise. It was within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Great deal and great stay.

Check in was at 3pm, we arrived close to 4pm, yet no rooms were ready yet from the night before. We had dinner/theatre reservations starting at 5:30. Waiting in the bar for 30 minutes for our room to be ready was the last thing we wanted. And then the elevators were not working the day we checked out, so we had to use the stairs while lugging suitcases. We just overall felt unwelcomed, and a big burdened by the experience. On a positive note, the rooms are nicely furnished and comfortable.

I was under the assumption since it was a HARD ROCK HOTEL, that the HARD ROCK CAFE was there. It wasn't, which was probably for the better. This was a nice hotel and a great location. There were plenty of coffee shops close by... Starbucks, 2 Dunkin' Donuts, etc. The TV's in the rooms were nice flat screens. High speed internet for FREE was cool. Parking was reasonable, which was about 2 blocks away from $30 per night instead of $45 or $50 at other places. I would stay here again. I guess the only thing I didn't like was the temperature of the room. We slept with the window open and listened to the fire trucks all night since we couldn't get the room cool enough and it was October.
