Hotel Italia - Munich

We booked through hotels.com for a two night stay. Chose this location because it was close to the train station, and we needed to leave in the early morning to get to the airport. What I didn't expect was the location. There were at least 10 table dancing places we passed on our walk to the hotel. Okay, fine, but the noise from all of the traffic outside […] was terrible! The walls are not very well insulated and the hard floor makes it absolutely impossible to get any rest. We heard everything that was going on in the surrounding rooms. Heard the TV in a neighboring room. People were so terribly loud all night outside in the hall, in their rooms. I am a deep sleeper, and didn't get a wink of sleep. Even though we had prepaid, we left after one night. I wouldn't recommend this hotel and will never stay there again. Read more

It says 3 stars on the plate. I would say 2 stars at most. If you are a business traveler and want a place to stay near the Munich hbf, this hotel can surver its purpose. Room was nice. No air conditioning, but had free WiFi. Breakfast was wonderful. Parking fee extra and parking was on another block. Asked for directions from the airport and they were unable to provide them, but were very helpful after we finally arrived.

I chose this hotel because of the positive reviews and it was close to the train station and we needed to have early access to the airport. This hotel is fine if you need a clean place to crash after a night of drinking and what not. Staf was very very friendly and helpful, but the room was EXTREMELY uncomfortable. HOT HOT HOT. We had to sleep with […] the windows open all night listening to drunkards in the street below. The bedding was strange....tiny comforter with no top sheet and lumpy pillows. None of us got ANY sleep before our 10 hours+ flight the next day. I felt the bathroom was a bit dirty. There was a strand of hair and two pubs on the bathroom floor when we got in. Like I said this place is fine if you need a quick last minute place to stay for a few hours, but my greatest complaint is that this hotel is WAY too expensive for what you get. Quick check in, but that’s when everything started going down hill. Upon entering the room we discovered that you could not open the bathroom door all the way, because the SINK is in the way….. the shower fell apart into 3 pieces. The hotel was dirty and in the worst part of town. It did not have air conditioning however in Germany it is not ususally an issue. The door to our hotel room had been kicked in at some point and fixed in an extremely unsecure manner. The bathroom was moldy, the room was extremely small and the noise was thunderous. The hotel is not in the best neighborhood. Down the street is one of the casinos in town, and there were 3 Cabaret(strip clubs) across the street and next to the hotel. People were loud in the streets until about 4am, and we did not feel safe walking the streets in the daytime. Affordable, clean, good location near the centre and Hauptbahnhof though in the middle of several sex clubs which may be disturbing for some people. Overall - not the best of streets - few strip bars, BUT very good value for money. Decent continental breakfast - close to City and also S/U-Bahn so good travel connections. Friendly hotel staff and overall recommendable. You get what you pay for but thought as working on a budget very acceptable hotel.

Da das Hotel sehr Zentral liegt, nähe Bahnhof und Stachus, konnten wir die Sehenswürdigkeiten alle gut zu Fuß erreichen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Parkmöglichkeiten gegen Gebühr im nahegelegenen Parkhaus. Kostenloses WLAN auf jeder Etage.
