the help desk was very quick and helpful in answering questions to where the bus rides & tour rides & car service help. The location is close to the bus stop. The room was clean and hotel very nice. The complimentary breakfast was very good! I enjoyed my stay!

Very nice stay. Very accessible location from Termini station. Away from touristy areas yet easy to get to and from on the 90 bus, of 60 or 82, depending on where you want to go to. Good overall. Although not close to the city center, it has a relaxing atmosphere. It should have been better if staff would respond to email inquiries prior to arrival. Emails were read; they were just ignored. Breakfast buffet was excellent.

I enjoyed the convenience of the bus transportation. The room was quite large with a nice balcony and good sized bathroom. The staff was very friendly and the continental breakfast was ample with a good selection of breakfast offerings. I hope to return to the Fenix Hotel again next summer.

We took the Metro from the train station. The walk from the Metro was a lot farther than I thought it was going to be. I suggest taking a taxi. There is a good resturant right down the street. Most of the staff were really helpful. They have a good breakfast.

Friendly staff, great breakfast and a lovely, non-touristy neighborhood just 4 stops on the 90 Express bus from Termini station make this a very nice hotel to stay in. It is away from the tourist sites and their hustle and bustle but it is easy to get to and will give you a sense of a leafy upper middle class neighborhood close to the city center.

It is not in the very center of Rome and it is not five star, but it is only a short bus trip into town (or a cheap 10 euro taxi fare) and the hotel was very friendly clean and great fun. We were worried a bit about the location in terms of getting to the city center, but it was fine. There is a bus stop right around the corner and the ride to Termini is around 10 to 15 minutes. Piazza Venetzia is another 5 to 10 minutes. The bus goes down a wide avenue with dedicated bus lanes so it covers the distance very quickly. The neighborhood […] is clean and quiet. There are many embassies, consulates, parks and villas in the area. There is an excellent local restaurant down the street and it was always full with locals even in August. There are many bus lines to various parts of the city within a 10 minute walk and the metro stop at Bologna is around 15 minutes at a normal pace. The service at the hotel was excellent. Everybody was extremely helpful. The breakfast was very good. In the summer it is in a lovely garden, beautiful quiet way to start the day. Service is buffet style with coffee, juice, bread cakes, fruit, scrambled eggs, sliced cheese, meats, yogurts, breakfast cereals, etc. We had the standard size room (the French rooms are smaller). It was very comfortable and had a full bathroom with a bathtub although the door to the bathroom was a tight fit. There was plenty of closet space and drawer space and a small balcony. The television had CNN and BBC in English. The décor is classic style. The only complaint was the air-conditioning. It was weak. My wife and I flew from Zurich to Rome so going from the Radisson Blu Hotel to the Hotel Fenix was a little disappointing. The room was really small and we are not very big people. The "safe" was just a wooden drawer with an "ancient" key that you can take with you once locked. We didn't put anything important in the safe because one tug will definitely […] open it. I bought a man purse and put all important belongings in there and carry them with me everywhere. The restaurant food was good and decently priced but the staff weren't very friendly (common of most low to medium price restaurants that we went to in Rome). We only ate at the hotel restaurant once and it is closed on Sundays. I didn't like the fact that we had to leave the room key at the front desk if you want them to clean the room. This was a little strange. Also, we had the "do not disturb" sign up for two days and they came in on the second day and did the cleaning anyway. I wasn't happy about that. Do not stay in room 43, there is a lady with a dog next door and the dog barks at night (and the lady yells at the dog) or when we were close to the door. Not sure why they allow dogs in the hotel. The room with the dog was marked "private." The TV was no good, CNN was unwatchable (static) but we didn't bother to call the front desk because we weren't there to watch TV anyway. The whole time, the room felt unsafe because there is no extra latch or lock for added protection. DO NOT call from the hotel phone even if you have a calling card. They charged me an arm and a leg because I was using the hotel phone to call home (USA) and I was using a calling card!...I couldn't figure this one out. When we checked out, the front desk showed me the bill for two phone calls and I tried explaining that I had a calling card but it was too early and the guy at the front desk's English was as good as my Italian so I paid him. This hotel is a little off the beaten path, but close to transportation. The room was clean, and there was no such thing as a full sized bed for a single room, however, the bed was comfortable. if you visit Rome during sumer, dont forget to take advantage of the wonderfull hotel' s garden,especially during the night taking with you drinks etc. It is about 10 minutes to the closest metro station- you have to walk a little- but it is overall an excellent choice
