"Very happy with choice of this hotel."
Very nice stay. Very accessible location from Termini station. Away from touristy areas yet easy to get to and from on the 90 bus, of 60 or 82, depending on where you want to go to. Had a really nice room, with nice bathroom and a terrace! Good breakfast and wi fi included. Had to pay a daily $6.00 euro tax additional, but worth every penny. Nice garden. […] Nice staff. "Not close to city center"
Good overall. Although not close to the city center, it has a relaxing atmosphere. It should have been better if staff would respond to email inquiries prior to arrival. Emails were read; they were just ignored. Breakfast buffet was excellent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice hotel outside the city center but well connected. Not ideal for business: WiFi service could be improved and desk in the room was very uncomfortable. For the rest, nice place and good value for the money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great value Hotel in Rome"
The Hotel is the best value I have found after visiting Rome several times, it is great if you have a car because there is parking on the street and the Hotel offers a garage service for 13 euro a day which is very good for Rome. The Hotel is very well maintained, the rooms are a bit small but comfortable and very clean. The restaurant was superb and […] the prices reasonable. The hotel is located in a nice neighborhood, about 15 minute walk to the train station but the bus stops for number 90 and 62 are right outside the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A good value for the money and location!"
I enjoyed the convenience of the bus transportation. The room was quite large with a nice balcony and good sized bathroom. The staff was very friendly and the continental breakfast was ample with a good selection of breakfast offerings. I hope to return to the Fenix Hotel again next summer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We took the Metro from the train station. The walk from the Metro was a lot farther than I thought it was going to be. I suggest taking a taxi. There is a good resturant right down the street. Most of the staff were really helpful. They have a good breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great and accommodating staff. Good breakfast. Close in enough to get into attractions in a few minutes. This is a very good hotel with fairly good connection to the city. It is located right next to a bus stop where you can take the bus to termini station and you can go pretty much anywhere from there. I spent a few more euros coz I did not plan my excursions, you should plan and use your bus/train tickets to full use. There are no great restaurants around […] - you need to take the bus to go to termini or venice square to hang out or to eat, the hotel doesn't have a great menu. The rooms are clean, toilets are best I ve seen - clean and maintained. The room serivice, maintenance were really good. The only problem that I had was the air conditioning was not great- it took forever to cool the room. The internet was average. Laundry was very expensive, breakfast was reasonably good. Room was clean and well maintained. Free breakfast was fine. Need to take the bus to tourist sites. Surrounding area was nice. You can walk to restaurant and shopping. "Good value: quiet rooms, delightful garden"
Friendly staff, great breakfast and a lovely, non-touristy neighborhood just 4 stops on the 90 Express bus from Termini station make this a very nice hotel to stay in. "Great, quiet place after long days of sightseeing"
We really enjoyed our stay at Fenix Hotel. The surrounding neighborhood is very quiet, which was nice after spending the day amongst crowds at various sightseeing locations. The location is a tad out of the way, but we liked that. The bus stop is about a 10 minute walk, the Metro is about a 15-20 min walk. The room was very clean. I appreciated having […] access to the computer in the lobby to check on a few museums and other travel-related issues. Front desk staff were helpful and the breakfast in the morning was good, especially the eggs. Private bathrooms, hair dryer. Room size was typical for Europe. Bear in mind, we do not spend a lot of time in our hotel room when we travel so our highest priority is cleanliness, price and nice location (nice, not necessarily in the center of everything). Oh, and lovely garden with seating, which we would have enjoyed more but it was raining during most of our stay. I would stay here again, absolutely. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Charming hotel in a green quiet convenient neighborhood"
We were worried a bit about the location in terms of getting to the city center, but it was fine. There is a bus stop right around the corner and the ride to Termini is around 10 to 15 minutes. Piazza Venetzia is another 5 to 10 minutes. The bus goes down a wide avenue with dedicated bus lanes so it covers the distance very quickly. The neighborhood […] is clean and quiet. There are many embassies, consulates, parks and villas in the area. There is an excellent local restaurant down the street and it was always full with locals even in August. There are many bus lines to various parts of the city within a 10 minute walk and the metro stop at Bologna is around 15 minutes at a normal pace. The service at the hotel was excellent. Everybody was extremely helpful. The breakfast was very good. In the summer it is in a lovely garden, beautiful quiet way to start the day. Service is buffet style with coffee, juice, bread cakes, fruit, scrambled eggs, sliced cheese, meats, yogurts, breakfast cereals, etc. We had the standard size room (the French rooms are smaller). It was very comfortable and had a full bathroom with a bathtub although the door to the bathroom was a tight fit. There was plenty of closet space and drawer space and a small balcony. The television had CNN and BBC in English. The décor is classic style. The only complaint was the air-conditioning. It was weak. We complained but they cheerfully changed rooms for us to one that worked better. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

My wife and I flew from Zurich to Rome so going from the Radisson Blu Hotel to the Hotel Fenix was a little disappointing. The room was really small and we are not very big people. The "safe" was just a wooden drawer with an "ancient" key that you can take with you once locked. We didn't put anything important in the safe because one tug will definitely […] open it. I bought a man purse and put all important belongings in there and carry them with me everywhere. The restaurant food was good and decently priced but the staff weren't very friendly (common of most low to medium price restaurants that we went to in Rome). We only ate at the hotel restaurant once and it is closed on Sundays. I didn't like the fact that we had to leave the room key at the front desk if you want them to clean the room. This was a little strange. Also, we had the "do not disturb" sign up for two days and they came in on the second day and did the cleaning anyway. I wasn't happy about that. Do not stay in room 43, there is a lady with a dog next door and the dog barks at night (and the lady yells at the dog) or when we were close to the door. Not sure why they allow dogs in the hotel. The room with the dog was marked "private." The TV was no good, CNN was unwatchable (static) but we didn't bother to call the front desk because we weren't there to watch TV anyway. The whole time, the room felt unsafe because there is no extra latch or lock for added protection. DO NOT call from the hotel phone even if you have a calling card. They charged me an arm and a leg because I was using the hotel phone to call home (USA) and I was using a calling card!...I couldn't figure this one out. When we checked out, the front desk showed me the bill for two phone calls and I tried explaining that I had a calling card but it was too early and the guy at the front desk's English was as good as my Italian so I paid him. Other than that, I would say this place is okay and would only recommend it with the above caveats. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fenix Hotel Roma"
This hotel is a little off the beaten path, but close to transportation. The room was clean, and there was no such thing as a full sized bed for a single room, however, the bed was comfortable. "Clean, Colourful Hotel"
The hote is in a quiet location, with a few restaurants in the vicinity providing fine Italian cuisine. It is only 10 minutes away from the centre of Rome. "Great service, although not the best location"
The hotel in general was very nice, recommended if you don’t mind a bit of walk to transportation. PRO: Hotel environment was satisfactory. (Free in-room wifi with a fair speed; Hair-dryer, shampoo, shower gel, body lotion all available in the washroom) Excellent service by the staff (Very willing to help in fixing issue, provide map and suggestion […] how to walk to places, provide adaptor converting between Italian-Europe style) Good breakfast (Many varieties of food, such as scramble eggs, ham & cheese, varieties of bread, fruits, juice, coffee & tea, etc.) CON: Room a bit small (Air Con not working on the first night, but hotel managed to fix it on the next day and works for the rest of my stay) Location a bit far (Takes around 10-15min walk to metro, but once you get to metro only few stops to city-center of Rome) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good decent hotel at a reasonable price"
Rooms nice, clean and well maintained. Reasonable prices for a hotel in Rome, staff friendly and helpful. In a pleasant area, with a decent restaurant and nice outdoor sitting area in the garden for an evening drink, also pleasant outdoor restaurant area, not large spaces outside though pleasant enough. One small drawback is that the nearest metro station […] is a good 20 mins walk away and the main train station is 40 mins walk away so we had to get a taxi most of the time to Rome Termini and then get the metro from there, sometimes though it was cheaper to get the taxi direct to tourist attraction - for example it is around 12 euros to the Spanish steps, and also same to Rome Termini station. Overall I would recommend the hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A charming hotel in a great location!"
This is a lovely hotel slightly out of the centre of Rome (ten minutes walk and ten minutes underground to the centre) and tucked away amongst beautiful flats, embassies etc Our room was very spacious and the linen and towels of lovely quality. The furniture is old but good quality and everything was very clean. The hotel has its own garden which we […] found a delight to sit in and read (it's lit by fairy lights at night - charming) or you could take your breakfast out if you wished. The best bit about the hotel, as others have said, is the helpful and multilingual staff - they could not have been kinder and English is universally spoken so don't worry if you have very little Italian. The second best thing is the breakfast - a huge variety of cereals, fruit, yoghurts, pastries, cold meat, fruit juice etc. You can order a traditional cooked at extra cost but you won't need it. Oddly, to British eyes, there is no tea and coffee in the room (you might want to take a travel kettle etc) but there is a fridge with water and juice etc but this is also extra. All in all, a charming hotel in a great location with outstandingly good staff - would love to go back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice Stay; soft comfy beds, bus stop right outside"
We did a trip throughout europe and tried to budget. This place was not the cheapest but you get a nice package for the price. In rome, these things are key: good bed for a good sleep, hearty breakfast (eggs, bread, pastries, yougurt, cereals, apples), helpful and kind staff, and some outdoors relaxation. This place has all of these. The room is cozy […] or smaller then another hotel we stayed at in rome, but its a solid place to sleep, shower, and recharge. give it a shot if you want to budget but need to ensure some sleep. go for the double bed though if you're travelling with a partner. semidouble is like a twin size. Also, a bit tricky to reach the hotel if your a first timer, but theres a bus stop right outside the hotel, takes you directly to republica or termini station.
