Response by Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Mooresville - Lake Norman Thank you for your recent stay with us at the Holiday Inn Express in Mooresville NC. Our staff appreciates each guest and we strive to be the best that we can. We believe this flows over to our guest and makes for a wonderful experience.
Our stay was complaint free. The Manager remembered us from a year ago March. He's a great guy. We will stay there again. Our only wish is for an indoor pool to use year round.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Comfortable and clean rooms. Staff was extremely friendly. My only negative is I feel the hotel was understaffed. I had to wait for more than 7 minutes to check in because the clerk had to run errands for another guest already checked in. Breakfast was good. I would come back if I should visit Lake Norman again.

Planning a trip to visit our in-laws my mother called in to book this room for us (her treat). When I checked out of the hotel in the morning I was told it was put on my credit card even though my mother in-law booked it and gave them her credit card on the phone. The lady told me was nothing she could do. Since it would be very awkward to go collect the money from my mother in-law - I am stuck paying for it. Why call in a reservation and give a credit card if you will never use it? Oh yeah, you will use it if no one shows up, but refuse to use it for what it was intended for - to purchase the room for their son. Hotel is warn down and bathroom is crusty -- they need to do some work renovating it. The bedding comforter was flimsy and the ac is either freezing or warm. Hotel parking was full and had boats taking 4 spots and people where told to park in another hotels parking lot. The only good thing about this hotel was the breakfast. it was good. I do not recommend and will not be back to any Holiday Inn again

My family stayed here in August 2014. While the room was nice and clean, you could hear road noise during the night. The beds are really high off the ground making it difficult for someone with mobility issues to easily get in and out of. The staff was wonderful and very pleasant. The breakfast was the best I have ever had at a hotel. I was happy to see this hotel is 100% non smoking, which is a huge plus for me!
"Clean hotel for travelers"

The hotel is very clean and in a very convenient location for travelers. It is close to 85 if you are heading north. There is also a small outlet mall very close to it. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is very good.
"Decent hotel in Lake Norman area"

We stayed here in one of the suites. The room was very nice with whirlpool, separate bedroom and living area. However, it was not all perfect, shower design is poor making lots of work for the maids as floor easily floods. View out the windows was onto the parking lot, so not really exciting. As a frequent visitor to Holiday Inn brand hotels I have a few more comments. Gym is tiny, honestly not worth going. There was also a very weird smell in the lobby on our arrival, mix of bleach and something else, very unpleasant. It was gone by the time we were checking-in later. I am not sure what the pet policy is when it comes to rooms, but I suspect that there previously were pets in our room. I am highly sensitive to pets and I had to take my allergy medication as I had problems when in the room.

Checked into this hotel really late (after 10pm) after driving nearly 12 hours from upstate NY. Booked over the phone after seeing the signage from the gas station, and was surprised to hear a two queen bed suite was only $110 a night, INCLUDING breakfast! At first, I was skeptical, but oh so tired, so we went with it. Check in was a breeze and we were pleasantly surprised when seeing the room. In the short five minutes between filling up at the gas station and arriving at the hotel, the front desk clerk had already set up a pack and play in the room for us. :-) The room was HUGE. When you walk in, there is a sofa bed with coffee table and flat screen TV, set up like a living area. Beside that is a small kitchenette area with refrigerator and microwave, coffee maker, and plenty of counter space and shelving to store your own snacks/foods. A large bathroom, very clean, is near next to the kitchenette. The best part of this room is that a door separates the living/kitchenette area from the bedroom, giving the room a feeling of just a little more space and privacy after having been in the car together all day. The main bedroom has two queen beds and ample space for a desk, chair, TV, and pack and play. We could have easily set up another pack and play in this room. The room, even though directly beside the elevator which is usually a big no no for me, was perfectly quiet. The breakfast bar was probably the best we've had this trip (2 weeks/7 hotels, all ranging from 2 to 4 star). Fresh fruit, coffee, juices, fresh muffins, oatmeal/grits, pancakes, biscuits, gravy, toast/bagels, eggs, bacon, sausage. Seriously, it would have cost my family of six $40-50 for breakfast alone, so a rate of $110 for a suite PLUS breakfast was beyond what I consider to be an excellent value. To top it off, the breakfast area has a little patio with white picket fence perfect for enjoying breakfast while letting the kids play a bit before getting back on the road. I will say the patio had some minor highway noise, and is not "perfect," but what a treat that the kids didn't have to sit still at a table in a crowded hotel lobby. This is a great choice, and an excellent bang for the buck, when staying in this area - be it for a road trip one night hotel, or even a longer stay in the Mooresville area.
"Wonderful Pet Friendly Hotel"

We stayed at this hotel on a return trip from Florida. The staff could not have been more friendly and courteous. The room was very nice and clean, with all needed amenities. We had an early breakfast was very nice and we able to get an early start on our trip the next morning. The hotel is located close to I77 and there are many restaurants and additional shopping lose by. Parking is somewhat limited, but adequate.

After having a problem with another hotel in the area we chose to come across the street to this Holiday Inn Express, which is a totally pet friendly hotel. By pet friendly, they (Shannon) greeted us with open arms and by the end of the week I think they loved our pets as much as we did.. After staying a week, we could not of asked for a better hotel, and excellence staff. There was a guest appreciation dinner, what hotel does that anymore. I can not say thank you enough to the staff at this hotel.. Top Notch. We will be back next year. Thanks Teresa Adam

Good hotel near the I77 ,Very busy area as we went to walk across the street to applebee's with the kids and was abruptly honked at and sped by,by a giant SUV with woman on a cell phone ..Nice.Really need a cross walk due to the wallmart behind the hotel. Also it is a confusing area with small signs especially after dark.Breakfast was ok. hotel allows pets but i only saw one little dog and i didn't hear any more.
"Good Value, Clean Large Rooms, Limited Designated Parking"

We were in town for a college graduation and spent a night at the Holiday Inn Express, located near I-77 in Mooresville. The hotel, however, can be a bit tricky to find, as many hotels share the same space near fast food restaurants, Walmart, and a movie theater. Location: The location of the hotel is great. It is situated near enough to the highway to make transit easy but far enough away to avoid hearing significant traffic at night. When attempting to locate the hotel once off the interstate, I found it easier to continue following signs for the Quality Inn, as the Holiday Inn Express did not have good guidance. Holiday Inn is tucked in right behind the Quality Inn. We arrived later in the evening and were the last car to be able to fit in the designated hotel lot. I am sure parking nearby would be fine, though signs demarcated a good bit of space for other nearby hotels and restaurants. The proximity to a small mall, fast food restaurants, Walmart, and the movie theater would make this an easy spot to stop for the night or stay for a few days. Staff: The staff were courteous and efficient at check-in and check-out. We had an early morning to make it to a graduation and were surprised to see coffee and dry breakfast foods out so early. I believe the morning breakfast is more extensive, including hot items, though we did not have an opportunity to try it. Rooms: The rooms were quite large and had a desk, chair, large bed, and spacious bathroom. The furniture seemed well taken care of. Additionally, the rooms at the Holiday Inn Express are inside access - other nearby hotels had outside access rooms which deterred us from staying at them. Overall, the Holiday Inn Express is a good value for the money and is conveniently located. We would likely stay here again upon returning to the Mooresville area.
