The location was a managable walk to the beach, but not close. the room was nice, but small. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was only the basics.

This is a small quiet place which is just what my daughter and I wanted for our week at Waikiki. Returning from a day at the beach (3-4 blocks away) or a night out, we felt like we were coming "home." Breakfast was just adequate but the coffee was good. The AC only worked 2 out of 4 nights which made the room warm and stuffy. The staff is friendly. There is a light breakfast which is pineapple and some pastries which is nice but needs to be changed up from day to day. Overall, it is an OK hotel, but wouldn't be my 1st choice at $245 per night.

We have stayed here several times in the last five years. Since it changed hands some of the amenities have gone downhill. Upon check in I mentioned we were in Hawaii for our anniversary and my husband's birthday. The check in person did not even listen to us and did not even offer a congratulations. I was very disappointed by the "free breakfast." Many days there was no food left or replenished after breakfast hours only being one hour in and I had to chase down a staff member to ask for more food. The food that was there was minimal at best - watered down juice, water, orange and pineapple slices, white bread and hard boiled eggs. The hotel is very modern from the outside. The free breakfast (cereal, toast, hard boiled eggs, juice, coffee) was a nice perk and it was nice to be able to eat breakfast in the outdoor courtyard. The hotel was just a few blocks from the main strip in Waikiki and close to everything. The room also came with a mini kitchen with a fridge, microwave, cutlery […] and plates/bowls. I had a room with a balcony facing the Ala Wai canal which gave me a lovely view of the water, runners, and the mountains, but the windows and sliding door did not close completely so it was extremely noisy. The building was older so soundproofing was not great and it did not have central air conditioning, which I expected for a non-motel property. It had a window mounted air conditioning unit was also very loud. I ended up sleeping with ear plugs to block out the noise. The staff were very nice and helpful, with the exception of one clueless girl at the reception desk. My feelings are mixed on this hotel because I expected more for the price. Read more

We found this hotel to be quite charming and comfortable though not overly luxurious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had few complaints. Stayed less than an hour after seeing a huge water bug come crawling out of the closet! It took room maintenance over 10 minutes to come get the thing out.
