i was happy with my stay at the stradey. staff were so nice and the place first class. i was going to swansea and was a lil out ,but worth it. it has a 4 star rating and well deserves it. breakfast was great and the waitress was so nice. i would reccomend staying there if in the area.

I think this hotel must have the distinction of being the most impersonal hotel I have visited. The staff were very poor and their youth leads me to believe they are employed for their cost as opposed to their skill level. The food choices are also extremely limited.

I stayed here with my husband to celebrate his birthday and we weren't disapointed! From the outside the Straddy Arms Hotel looks a bit clinical and purpose built. However upon entering we were pleasantly surprised.The reception staff were friendly and helpful, as to were all the other staff during our stay.Our room was reasonabley sized and very clean […] and comfortable.We chose to have lunch in the hotel and ate in the conservatory which was bright and airy. We had a large choice from the lunch time menu, bar menu and Al a Cart menu, the food was delicious! Our waitress was extremeley helpful, polite and knowledgeable and as it was my husbands birthday we had two complementary glasses of champagne! In the evening we had arranged to go out there is a couple of pubs just down the road which were also friendly and pleasant. We booked through Hotel.com and had an excellent deal.We had a good night sleep and the hotel wasnt noisey even though there was a large function on. Breakfast was hot, with a wide choice of hot and cold foods. We truely enjoyed our stay and would recommend a stay here. Read more

This is a fantastic hotel. The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. I had a double room which was spotless, cleaned each day with fresh towels. The bed was huge and so comfy. The food was top quality with a massive choice for breakfast, served in lovely relaxed surroundings. I will certainly be returning here again soon !

We spent a couple of nights here to celebrate a birthday. It was a very pleasant experience throughout. Management and staff were helpful and friendly, the hotel is comfortable, clean and well kept. In the restaurant the dinner menu gave us an adequate number of choices and all the starters, mains and desserts that we sampled were excellent in every […] way. We didn't sample lunch, but the menu offered several choices and looked attractive. Breakfasts covered the range of "Full English" and "Continental" buffet which was fine for us, and there were additional selections available, including kippers and laverbread. Our bedroom was adequately sized for a short stay, but I would have liked a larger room if we had been staying for, say, a week. I'm sure there would be larger rooms available - so this is not a complaint, just an observation. The king size bed was extremely comfortable, there were chairs for us both to sit in. I have found this to be quite a rarity in many hotel bedrooms, where only one chair is provided - almost as if the management doesn't want you to find the room sufficiently comfortable to stay in! However, this is not the case at Stradey Park, where we could both sit comfortably at the same time, to read, write, watch TV or go on-line. Oh yes - there's free WI FI, too. So, we'll be returning. It's also handy for Ffos Las races or as a base for exploring South Wales and returning in the evening for a good meal and a comfortable rest. Read more

Nice room with views of the gower peninsula, but initially spoiled by rowdy neighbours. Asked reception to move us to a quieter room which they did without hesitation and offered to help with the move. From then on everything was excellent ie., very quiet room and a very good breakfast. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

This was my fourth stay at Stradey Park and I am always impressed at the great customer service. After a minor housekeeping issue, the reception staff moved me to the bridal suite, I couldn't have asked for more! The food is always delicious and I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for either business or pleasure.

Great family room, stayed there about 5 times, the hotel is popular for weddings and functions, so bar area can be busy. Family room has 2 single beds joined to a bedroom with a super sized king bed. Both rooms have modern wall mounted plasma type TVs. Shower over bath type, does the job.

We attended a wedding at this hotel. The wedding was wonderful. We aslo stopped at the hotel in a family room which was clean and roomy. The breakfast buffet was also worth waking up for the morning after!

Hotel is o.k.- could be much nicer, but could use a bit better upkeep. Some pleasant areas in hotel, all it needs is some attention to detail. Probably best hotel in Llanelli though and ok for general business travel.

This is a very pleasant hotel with nice staff and good food. The rooms are very neat and comfortable. The bar and restaurant are similarly pleasant, spacious, but not impersonal. The hotel is somewhat let down by the corridors to the rooms, which are in need of brightening up and renovating.

The hotel was situated within about 15 minutes' walk of the town centre.Unfortunately it's on quite a steep hillside which means that possibly those who are unable to walk very well might find it difficult. My sister and I stayed here as we were in the area on family business so it was the location and the price that were important to us. Hotel was clean, warm and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would happily recommend the hotel although I doubt that we will return as we won't have reason to visit the area again.

Ok, so Llanelli doesn't have many hotels, but this is a good place.The staff were friendly, particularly the guy on reception who knew his town really well, including where the local refuse tip was (don't ask!). Our room had a great view overlooking Gower Peninsula and even had an ante-room with two cribs, presumably for children. The bed was king size, […] the bathroom spacious. The bar doesn't have a great range of beers, though it isn't as limited as many of the local pubs, but the local ale, Double Dragon, didn't seem to have as much flavour as I remember from previous visits to the town, but maybe my taste buds are going. We ate a bar meal on one of our two nights there - it was good value for money if a little dull. Breakfast however is a different kettle of fish. It is a buffet but really good with full English (or should that be Welsh?) on offer, including black pudding. They will cook you kippers, haddock, porridge or even local speciality lava bread (seaweed) We didn't eat in the restaurant apart from that, but the Carmathenshire tasting menu at £24.95 per head looked interesting. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the town centre, but as the town is dying on its feet that isn't a problem. You could use the hotel as a base for exploring the lovely countryside and castles or it is a good place for business people. It is good value for money and I hope it manages to survive the new Premier Inn and soon to open Travel Lodge onslaught. Read more
